Parking and getting in/out of propertY awkward . Blind spots in both directions.

Breakfast typical eggs, bacon, Sausages. No options for vegans.

Pool outdated, beautiful waterfall but does not work.

Showers lack pressure and hit or miss on water switching to shower.

Not much walking distance everything pretty much requires driving.

The front desk was amazing. Gave us complementary waters and dropped off an extra bath towel within 5 min of me calling for one. Im disappointed I didnt get her name but she was so nice. Excellent customer service. She checked us in on June 6 around 3. Thank you for providing amazing service. The breakfast was pretty good as well. Very filling. The pancakes and bacon were my favorite Small dining area but all the food was good. Would definitely book again

The hotel staff was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. We arrived around 4:00 PM, an hour after the advertised 3:00 PM check-in time, but unfortunately our room was not yet ready when we arrived.

We primarily used the hotel as a place to sleep and did not take advantage of any of the amenities. While the hotel served that purpose, the cleanliness of our room left something to be desired. The bed sheets appeared to have been put on inside out, there was chocolate on the floor near the entrance, a sticky residue on the mini fridge door, and hair shavings in one of the bathroom sinks upon arrival.

Overall, the staff provided great service, but the condition of the room did not meet expectations and could benefit from more thorough housekeeping.

A new facility and nicely appointed. Under staffed and the elevators don’t always work. The restaurant has a very limited menu and has very limited hours of service. The website says they have a bar and restaurant but it too suffers from no staff and did not open on a Friday night I stayed.

Check-in could have been better; one clerk knew what she had done to set us up in a room and the other clerk had no idea what was going on and told us to come back at a later time. The issue was corrected. We were staying for 4 nights and the room they gave us was right next to the roadway, traffic noise all night all, trucks, motorcycles and cars. The room above us :( you could hear when they flushed, the pipes ran right down our wall so you could hear the water going through the pipes, it was like a "No Tell Motel". Getting into and out-of the hotel was dangerous, the road curved and was on a hill, you could not see the traffic coming when making a left turn, neither left or right. Making a right turn was just as bad, you couldn't see the traffic coming from the left. Then they advertise coffee makers in the rooms, but they had removed them from all the rooms, you had to go to the lobby to get your coffee and that was an uphill and downhill walk just to get coffee. I had to buy a thermos and fill it one cup at a time and take it to my room so I could have my coffee in the morning without having to walk up and downhill just to get one cup of coffee out of a machine! Then they didn't tell us about the discount we could get at the local restaurant, after we had eaten there, I thought to ask about it and sure enough we were entitled to a discount. We won't stay at this hotel ever again; there's better one in the area. If you stay there, don't stay in room #235!!!

The place was very nice & roomy. Front desk was very nice and accommodating considering she was all alone while so many people were waiting in line trying to check in. The only complaint we had was that the guests who stayed on the same floor had several children runaround between room slamming doors all evening through next morning!

Entrance was hard to find. The staff was nice, was able to check in early around 130pm. Overall it was okay for the price. The bathroom had a bug walking around, a spider near the bed, and no chair’s on the balcony. Was here on a Friday night and you can hear live music really loud until 10pm.

Bad place to stay. We stay there in the middle of a renovation so no gym no convenient breakfast area.

Rooms were clean, staff was friendly, Jacuzzi was working, pool was open, breakfast was very good, they were repainting the lobby when we stayed there, but other than that, we had a very pleasant experience.

Carpet had visible food crumbs and easily a dozen large spots. Other than the carpet’s filthiness, the room was OK. Breakfast room was closed but reduced menu was available for ‘take out.’ Not disclosed beforehand. Keycard stopped eorking my second night. I’m somewhat of a regular guest, but will try something else for my next visit to the ares.

They are remodeling the area of the breakfast. I can not go up and down steps. My two sisters can they pick up food and coffees for mom,99, and mr. What was missing was the waffles andvthe juice machine. The food that they had was good. Eggs, potatoes, and toast or bagles was tasty.

Upon arriving the entrance lobby is being remodeled completely. From top to bottom. No one was at the front desk to greet us and check us in. The mother of the receptionist arrived and called her cell to come and attend us. No restroom available in the lobby area, you have to wait until you get to your room. I had asked for extra towels for the three of us and they said we have a limit of 5. Once checking out the receptionist again no where to be found. I'm assuming due to the construction noise and dust they don't want to be around in the front office. They should move there office momentarily to another location to check in guests so they can also have acess to the restroom. Be aware that the breakfast is to go ONLY due to the construction. I'm very upset that Expedia nor the hotel gives you any awareness of the remodeling. Definitely do not stay here.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel located on hillside so parking lot somewhat difficult to navigate, walking in parts of hotel could be challenging as breakfast area under construction so had to take food and coffee to room. Otherwise great stay!

Stay somewhere else.

They are going through renovations and didnt tell you when you booked. Noisy renovations Too. Theres no gym. Breakfast is downstairs to go only and its pretty terrible. Parking is difficult as well. Hot tub/pool are a joke. Dont stay here thinking its quality- its not.

Paid extra for a balcony, which was a cement slab on the first floor overlooking the parking lot, with no outdoor furnishings. Several small ants around the room.

Deck outside of office/dining building needs to be redone ASAP. Safety hazard. A lot of holes and rotten wood. As someone that has built decks I would recommend Treks as a replacement.

Close enough to the beach without the crowds/noise

Our multi-night stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Grover Beach had many positives, though it was slightly let down by a lack of attention to detail in room cleaning.

The check-in process was a highlight. The front desk clerk was incredibly friendly and efficient, making for a warm and welcoming start to our visit. We also appreciated the ample parking available throughout our stay; the lot was well-lit at night, and we always felt safe and secure.

Initially impressed by its large size. However, a closer look revealed some housekeeping oversights. We found some small trash left by a previous guest tucked beside the sofa and floor , and a noticeable amount of sand remained inside by the balcony door throughout our entire stay, despite daily room service. While the main areas seemed clean, these details gave the impression that the cleaning was rushed. Another minor issue was the very bright, always-on light on the balcony. Even with the blackout curtains closed, it prevented the room from getting truly dark for sleeping.

On a positive note, the complimentary breakfast was exactly what you'd expect from a Holiday Inn Express. It offers a reliable and convenient selection of hot and cold items to get the day started.

Overall, this is a good hotel with a fantastic staff and great amenities like easy parking. If management could improve the attention to detail in housekeeping, it would easily be a five-star experience.
