The property is being renovated and the rooms are done very well. The rooms are large (deluxe ocean front king) with a great place to open your luggage on a long bench along the wall. Beautiful view and walkable to town.

Beautiful location right on the beach, relatively quiet other than expected hotel noises. Breakfast was good and they kept the food stocked during appropriate hours. There were a few ants in the room but I don’t really blame the hotel for that. Overall would come back!!

If you're looking for scenery, this is the place for you! The views are magnificent! The hotel is clean, the staff is super-friendly and extremely helpful. Their main concern is your comfort. Nice breakfast buffet and wonderful grounds, gardens and walking paths. Splurge a little and get a suite! You won't regret it one bit!

I was expecting a nicer stay. Almost the entire place is being renovated and there are not too many amenities. Breakfast was good but overall a bit overpriced compared to what you get at the SeaCrest hotel or any of the others along the coast. Wouldn’t stay again.

We had the most amazing stay, and it was truly all thanks to the incredible staff — especially Kim, who went above and beyond to make it special. The suite was absolutely stunning, and we were even surprised with a complimentary bottle of wine, to boot, which was such a thoughtful touch. The views were out-of-this-world gorgeous, the breakfast was delicious, and the pool area was beautiful and relaxing. The location and overall setting were perfect in every way. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate my birthday. It was hands down the highlight of our trip!

We had a wonderful stay overall. The hotel was very clean, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and spotless, and the view was absolutely wonderful. We did notice some ants in the bathroom, which we assume may be due to ongoing construction, but it didn’t take away from our experience. We would definitely stay here again.

There was a massive renovation taking place that started at 8 am, the wifi went out, and they charged a resort fee and parking fee which weren't disclosed until checkout :(

The view and pismo beach were nice though.

This hotel is currently under renovation with limited rooms open, a closed lobby, and construction noise starting at 8 a.m. sharp. While the property feels you rented the whole place, the service quality suffers significantly.

The morning front desk showed a clear lack of care and hospitality. Hot breakfast items ran out early, and staff said, “We only prepared for 14 guests—food is gone.” A family with grandparents and a child was left with only packaged pastries, no hot food, and even the coffee ran out. When asked if anything could be done, the answer was simply no—said with a smile.

As I was leaving, two staff members were laughing while a grandmother using a walker passed by. That moment said everything.

Another night, two kids were swimming on a cold evening and there were no towels at the pool. We gave them ours. To be fair, the night staff was excellent—friendly, attentive, and delivered towels within minutes. The contrast with the morning staff was striking.

This property will likely do well financially. The newly renovated rooms are attractive—beachy, well designed, with earth-tone furnishings and sleek wall-mounted TVs. But when hospitality and empathy are missing, none of that matters.

It would be helpful to note that the hotel is undergoing a remodel/renovation.
The outlet where the coffee maker and kettle were located was not working. The safe was not ‘working’ until I figured that the batteries inside the safe were loose. The batteries were held together with duct tape. Once I pushed the batteries tightly together, the safe worked but I didn’t want to chance it and the batteries becoming loose, then I would have to get hotel staff to open the safe. So I didn’t use it.
There were ants in the coffee /sink area and the bathroom.

The room itself was nice, and as expected with balcony and view of the Pacific. But overall, I was a bit disappointed.

Room needed upgrading badly. When I arrived the hotel was being remodeled and there was no information to that effect on Expedia when booked.
The hotel also did not reach out to inform us.were told no refund so ended up having to stay.
Constant noise all day so no relaxing by the pool.
I had to leave the hotel every day for peace &quiet

We had a wonderful stay at Shore Cliff Hotel in Pismo Beach. The room was very clean and offered an amazing ocean view. The staff was courteous, friendly, and always willing to help. The hotel has great amenities and is conveniently located close to the Pismo Pier and all major attractions.
The complimentary American breakfast was very good and a great way to start the day. One of our favorite parts of the stay was walking around the property by the sea - perfect for enjoying a beautiful sunrise or sunset. We would definitely stay here again!

We were hesitant to book as it was currently being remodeled. They are doing major work but we were unaffected. Our room was spotless and the bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept on. The staff is friendly and helpful (thanks Sonja)! We highly recommend getting a room with a beach view. Can’t wait to return when all the work is done. Perfect spot in Pismo Beach!!

It looks that the place is falling apart, lost of mosquitoes, included breakfast was awful, they charge for parking with the excuse the place is “secure”, they charge also a “resort fee” for a place that you can’t use all the amenities and the room is far from as promised. I never won’t be there again.

Staff was highly accommodating! Pool and hot tub were amazing. A lot of construction going on right now. No lights on the entrance made us miss the driveway more than once. Room was comfortable. AC unit was kind of loud. A great location with an easy walk to the beach (got some stairs though). I would highly recommend the Shore Cliff Hotel and we will be back!

There was a long line for check-in at 4pm. We had to wait for 40 minutes to only find out that our room wasn't ready. The worst part was the front staff was rude and unkind. We canceled the booking and drove 2 hours back home.

I had a fantastic stay at the Shore Cliff Hotel. First, the customer service was excellent. It was raining when we arrived, but the front desk team stayed upbeat, which made a big difference for us.
Second, the room was warm and welcoming. We booked the two-bedroom suite and the view was absolutely breathtaking.
And the morning breakfast? Excellent. You can tell a lot of care and planning went into making sure guests have a great experience.
Overall, a wonderful stay.

This was our first time staying at Cliff Shores and we loved it! When I had booked that, I thought it was another hotel down the street with a similar name. I actually stopped there first and immediately noticed an arrogant vibe. Once I realize a mistake, I drove to Cliff shore and was so happy that it was not staying at the other place! The hotels clean, rooms are spacious, the views are spectacular There is renovations going on in one of the buildings, but that did not at all interfere with our stay. We look forward to coming back at least twice a year!

I wish the Hotels.com would let you know when a property is under renovation. I’ve been to this hotel a dozen times now and this was by far the worst experience. Half of the hotel is closed for renovation and the half that is open is not in very good shape. The rooms are awesome, but the amenities are seriously lacking. They charge a “resort fee” of $40 for one day but have pretty meh amenities. A very tired gym and a tiny swimming pool, particularly given that this property appears to have nearly 100 rooms.

Incidentally, they charge a $15 parking fee, which isn’t disclosed in the Hotels.com and Tac this on after you have already booked. So much for full disclosure prior to booking 😡

They do host a hot breakfast, which is on par with the lower median of hot breakfast hotels.

Beware… A tough thing for many is it’s a three-story building and the elevator is out of order.

Having said all that it’s a beautiful view and has such great potential.

Not exactly sure why but the check-in staff are really crabby and not helpful at all. Maybe it’s because they’re tired of all the construction around the site.

I don’t really know why it’s gone downhill so fast but hopefully, with any luck at all, it will go uphill equally as fast once they finish the other half of the hotel.

I really hate slamming this place because I used to love it, but given the added on charges and the poor customer service, I feel like I have to reach out to my fellow traveler.

Considering it was a one day getaway, we didn’t find out until the day before it was under construction. The noise was limited but the elevator was out of order so it was an inconvenience. The room was very clean but the pillows were worn out and very uncomfortable. We were hoping to hear more of the ocean waves but felt the freeway noise was alot louder. The check in was pretty easy. Parking was convenient. The view was a beautiful and were able to see the sunset.

We left & ate dinner, come 4:30 I never received a call so we went back to see if we could check in & yep we could. Communication is key & I feel they lacked on that, everything else was great.

Great views corner room balcony seeing the ocean and shore.
No AC in second room? As we don’t see a separate unit.
One bathroom for 2 bedrooms somewhat inconvenient but great many racks for towels and clothes.
Spacious living room.
Pillows and beds are comfortable and we are sensitive about that.
Breakfast same building right below (short staff to handle volume of people though).
Great silver bottled water, well made and not the cheap plastic kind.
Front desk water and cups not constantly refilled so that’s an improvement.
Fire pits outside are great.
Love the easy access to coastline and how all coastal hotels are connected for easy walk and enjoyment.
Next to Ventana Grill restaurant which is great and have 10% discount from hotel!
Overall does enjoy our stay and its location gives probably the best 180-230 degrees of views of the most significant coastal points of interest. Love to come back again.
Now I remember a drawback was that when I checked out, no staff was there to give me receipt. I texted and emailed and no reply. Had to call on another day to finally get an email receipt.
