I stopped here on my drive back down to LA from Oregon and I am so glad this was my last overnight stop!! What a charming and full of character little hotel by the sea! While there are some grounds up keep due to age of the property that could be addressed, this was a lovely little place to spend the night!
I was in room 301- the fireplace and jacuzzi were spectacular to have in my room and I did indeed use them! The staff member who checked me in mentioned she was still training but she was wonderful and welcoming and the women who checked me out in the morning was as well!
While I did not have a room that faced the ocean- mine overlooked the inner parking lot- I could still hear the waves and birds !
The 24/7 inner lobby area with water, tea, and coffee avail with the fireplace going was wonderful !
Even though I checked in around 10pm , there was still a pie left over from the amazing offering of daily fresh pies and ice cream! OH, and there is ice cream available as part of your stay too!!!!
The rooftop over looking the beach and the ocean was fantastic! The pastries, latte, and egg casserole I had were SPECTACULAR!

Overall, our stay was great. While the rooms were a little dated, the amenities offered made up for it. The location was also a big plus, just a short walk across the street to get to the beach. Awesome breakfast, with a nice social hour with pie and ice cream. Would stay here again!

The pics of the room looks nice. But when you actually get there you can tell that the rooms been ran through for countless tourist use. Room was movie themed. But all the appliances were probably bought 15 years ago and never been replaced. The hotel was scary to enter. Felt like I was going to slip and hurt myself after the tub is filled. I recommended to put the rubber Matt in first before getting in. The breakfast was really good. Best hotel croissants I've ever had. I chose the ham and Swiss one. Nice and crispy. The egg casserole/ quich3 was nice. If I had to chose the main thing I did not like it is the parking. Guaranteed that place had countless people hitting and scraping their cars. Very tight and enclosed and an more accidents waiting to happen then you can shake a stick at.

What an Amazing weekend we had at Avila Beach. We went for our Anniversary and were so delighted with every single interaction with the staff. The location of this property could not have been better. We slept with the door open and the sound of ocean waves sang us to sleep. The view was amazing.

Good hotel in a close proximity to the beach. Best thing about the hotel was the fourth floor sun deck. Breakfast was great. In the evening, they have a dessert treat, and there’s always ice cream available. The only complaint was the Wi-Fi was complete worthless. If you’re trying to get a little work done, with the gorgeous view, don’t stay here. If you’re here solely for relaxation, would recommend staying here absolutely!

Loved the Roof-top breakfast--the servers, choice of drink & food, & beautiful ocean/beach view. Also, enjoyed the pie & ice cream which we had on our first nite. Room was large (looked like it was designed for disabled person.) Staff was accommodating to my friend who was still recovering from knee surgery & gave us room on 2nd floor & helped w/ carrying up her luggage to the room.
Only drawback was that there were no elevators, but we were informed of that in advance--hence requested a 2nd floor room.
My friend & I agreed that we would go back if we were ever in the area again. All of the staff we encountered were friendly & helpful.

Hotel needed upgrades. Room clean, however, outdated. Bathroom requires work. TV out for the night but front desk said it was being worked on. Had picture for ten minutes. If management invested money into the rooms would be nice place to stay. Breakfast on upper deck was good but limited choices. Location was good. I think they're on the right track for decorating but seriously needs work

Breakfast was great, friendly staff and WOW the view from the rooftop is perfect! We enjoyed our room, 3rd floor with an ocean view from one window. The room could use some lighting over the table but otherwise perfect. The hotel perks are nice extras you don’t see everywhere, we enjoyed the nightly warm pie and ice cream! Inn at Avila Beach is our go to hotel, just across the street from the beach. Visit this place and enjoy Avila beach with the best weather on the central coast!

The hotel is not in it's heyday, but it does have that incredible charm of being an historic hotel. If you want a unique experience and a real fun place to stay, its a nice place. The beach motif in every room which differs every time you stay. Parking is tight but manageable. I say pack light because there are a lot of stairs and walkways if you have a room away from the beach. And your front porch is the beach, so it is all worth it.

Great breakfast over looking the beach on the deck. No air conditioning in room. Having windos open can get very loud with olthe ocen waves. Water pressure in our room was not good. Bed was old and not comfortable. Ocen view was nice on our balcony and really liked the sofa.

My wife and I absolutely love staying at the Inn at Avila Beach. It has become one of our favorite little getaways. From the moment we arrive, everything just feels welcoming and relaxed.

One of our favorite traditions is the pie hour from 7 to 8 p.m. It is such a simple touch, but it makes the stay feel extra special. Grabbing a slice together in the evening is something we genuinely look forward to every time.

Breakfast in the morning is just as impressive. The ham and Swiss croissants are amazing, warm, flaky, and full of flavor. It is the kind of breakfast that makes you slow down and enjoy the morning.

We also love the room we usually book. It is comfortable, cozy, and perfect for the two of us. Every visit reminds us why we keep coming back, and we absolutely plan to continue making this place part of our regular trips.

Had a wonderful stay. It was perfect for our needs. Therapeutic and the sound of the waves at night were so soothing. The place is lovely and cozy. The hot tub was a nice touch. The breakfast nook was a delight, Overlooking the beach. Staff was great and very friendly. Alex front desk agent and Shane were amazing. Thank you. We will definitely be returning. This was a family trip. My 3 children and my self. We were very happy.

Quick heads up, there's no AC. I'm glad I came in the spring. Very unique place with a lot of potential. Great staff. They are very helpful and were very understanding and as accommodating as possible.Unfortunately we experienced some issues. I really wanted to like it here, but it was just too dang muggy and stuffy in the room (instead of at late night/early morning). The bathroom is cute and has a whole spot for doing make up. But its hot in there and the lighting is terrible lol. Then the shower and all flooring was dirty. Hair from last guests still in the drain balled up and strands randomly through out the bottom stuck and dried. Also, the floor was extremely sandy upon us entering...so it wasnt swepped or cleaned before our check-in.There was a cockroach in the bathroom...so that was the end of it for me. We were already packing to leave when it was spotted, but still. I was disgusted at that point. I had the 2nd biggest room other than the 304 room that is huuuuge. The hot tub and bed were nice...but that's it. But I wouldn't stay there again. But I thank the manager for giving me a discount to try to make it right. And the front desk man for lending me his personal fan for the evening. P.S. Theres a tv in the hot tub room but there's no remote or cable hooked up. So bring your own roku or firestick.

The hotel is directly across the street from the ocean. Parking is out front and within the property. We opted for a room with a jet tub (no view) since our trip was going to be for the bike path, and let me tell you it was awesome & relaxin. When we got back, they had made homemade pecan pies with ice cream for all guest. All the stairs outside was lit up with string lights. They were quite a few lil secret spots to stop and enjoy wine or great company. They have bikes free for the guest available on the property. Just a note: they do not have elevators which was ok with us but if my mother would have came a 1st floor would have been a must. Ohh.. And a roof top Cafe (morning)!! This is a must and free to the guest. Great to sip on wine in the evening, listen and breathe in the ocean.

Breakfast is excellent, egg casserole, chocolate crosissant, and all types of expresso etc.
Left my purse on my chair at breakfast and a staff person found it and called me 😊❤️!

The rooms were clean and ours was decorated in a beach theme, the staff was very friendly and the amenities were great, it reminded me of being on a cruise ship ,we had a coffee bar upstairs with great breakfast ,beyond any continental breakfast I ever had at any hotel and pie and ice cream down in the lobby each evening at 7:00 .it was our first stay with them and we will be back, plus our room deck looked right out at the beach and ocean, shops and other restaurants were very close walking distance, never moved the car the whole four days there.

Really beautiful hotel. Wonderful accommodations. The only complaint was with this beautiful oceanfront room that the bed was absolutely horrible. One side of mattress was sunken in and any movement was loud squeaking. For the amount of money per night I would expect top quality for the bed. We could not sleep.

Room 303 was great. The tile, counter tops, wood beams, doors, bed, and closet were excellent.
The sauna bath, with fire place connected to the very nice shower was as good as it gets.
The only negative is the two wood chairs that are not comfortable at all. Breakfast was ok.

Loved everything about the Inn at Avila, we were surprised with the complimentary breakfast which included customs coffee and lattes along with croissant and quiche. Our favorite party was the pie and ice cream that was served daily at 7pm for hotels guest.. absolutely delicious. My family will definitely be rebooking. The room and shower were very delightful and the prime location to the beach and shops made the stay more enjoyable
