The hotel was very clean. Really liked how once you entered it opened up to the large sitting area filled with tables and chairs - plenty of space to hang out and also offering bar and food. Having the appetizer and drink from 5:30pm-7:00pm was really nice as well. Breakfast was also great, probably one of the better breakfast set ups out of all the places I have stayed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Not to mention many shops and restaurants very close by. I plan to stay again.

No way to use WiFi.

Unusable sofa bed. Bad, flimsy, noisy, thin mattress. The suite for 6 is actually for four because only the bedroom double queen beds, NOT the entry suite sofa bed, were ok to sleep on. No door between front suite and kitchen/bathroom.

Rooms very noisy because they face the indoor restaurant, and not only you get the people’s noise, but the lights shining through the windows into the rooms.
Noise and light all night. No blackout shades.

Fridge does not cool. Set to work at minimum cold.

This property is centrally located in the city of San Luis Obispo. There are many great shopping, entertainment, and restaurants nearby.
Overall, the property is clean. It is a great layout. It prevents very well to the eye. However, there are a few items that eat away at the experience of staying at this hotel, and some of these items damaged the reputation of the hotel let’s take a look at them now.
For starters, this is the year 2026 type C chargers have been available for over three years now a large percentage of cell phones only use type C charging this number is only gonna increase moving forward. None of the hotel rooms come with type C chargers when I asked the staff for help. The front desk told me there’s nothing they can offer and that if I wanted to, I could walk over to Best Buy and buy an adapter. I responded by saying thank you for your hospitality.
The shower, the drain literally disintegrated in my hands due to its old age. There’s nice tile work there’s nice wallpaper. The decor looks great, but The shower valve was completely worn out. It was hard to turn between hot and cold burn myself many times they just keep Painting over an old problem and do not fix it. The last point of concern. Is the money grab, I’ve been staying at this hotel for over 20 years. A few years back the ownership started to charge for parking. The hotel shares a parking lot with a mall there’s no security no gates no difference between parking within 50 ft or 75ft from hotel.

I've always stayed at Embassy Suites chain and love them, but this property is just ok (I've stayed here twice in the past month). It's an older property that needs a little more TLC in certain areas. The carpets really need to be cleaned as my feet kept getting dirty from walking around my room. It really bothered me. The new omelet form they have doesn't seem to work well. Their line can be just too long. The rest of breakfast is terrible if it gets cold in the buffet. (Where is the kitchen manager?)
I just feel like the cost of the rooms at this property is a bit too high for what it is. For around $3000 for a week the past couple of weeks I would expect it to be pretty pristine. I may check out some of the newer properties around SLO next time.

All the rooms are suites, which is to say they all come with a small separate sitting room with tv, and a kitchenette with sink, refrigerator and microwave. Very convenient and provides families with extra space. There’s also free breakfast with an omelette station , and a buffet of breakfast staples. The staff are always friendly. We stayed at the Embassy Suites whenever we visited our son who was going to the university nearby.

The room had a weird layout. It was like they took a conference room and made it into a handicapped room. I have mobility issues due to arthritis but had I been in a wheelchair there is no way I could have gotten into the advertised \"roll-in\" shower. The freeway side is incredibly loud.

I used to stay at this hotel frequently over the past 10 years. The rooms have never changed. They are in desperate need of a remodel. While they are kept clean, you can see that they are poorly maintained. Repairs are very noticeable and unprofessionally done. The carpets are stained and I have to wonder how clean they are.

They need to step up their game because there is a beautiful new suite hotel across the street with extremely competitive rates. I’ve been staying there instead of the Embassy. There is also another brand new suite hotel opening nearby with even more competitive rates. The only reason I was at the Embassy this time is because the other hotel was booked.

They charge $20 per night to park. Their parking lot is part of a shopping center so I doubt that the hotel owns or maintains it. The woman at the front desk said they are planning to raise the price by another $5 next year. I’ve heard multiple times from the staff about ‘the owner’ making this decision. I think ‘the owner’ needs to personally look at the property through the eyes of the customers and do something about improving the customer experience. I don’t plan to stay there in the future unless there are no rooms available elsewhere.

I made my reservation online and prepaid. When I checked in the employee at the front desk tried to charge me again and I told him I had prepaid. He said there was no prepayment showing, so I showed him my email receipt. After another few moments looking on his systems he found that I had prepaid. Then he asked me if I had a vehicle and told me there was a parking fee of $20 per night. The parking lot is part of a huge parking lot for a mall, so I don’t understand why they charge. I guess it’s just another way for them to take another $20 from their guests. My room was good and the bed was comfortable. The evening reception was nice as was the free made to order omelette each morning. My biggest complaint was on my second night, three bus loads of high school kids arrived at 9:30PM. Boys were running all over the place slamming doors and doing who knows what until almost midnight. It was so loud I thought they were destroying the place. I went out about 10:00PM and just observed the goings on for a few minutes before stopping by the front desk to complain. The employee only told me security was aware of the situation. Although this could have been a nice stay, there were too many things I didn’t like about this hotel and I won’t be staying here on my next trip to San Luis Obispo.
