The staff were great! I loved their customer service and promptly tuning into my requests with ease. Their location close downtown was great! A 15min walk by other eateries and libations.

In the hotel was quiet and organized.
The bathrooms were old, shower curtains, torn in places, vents pretty linty. Carpets did not feel very clean.
Beds were very comfortable, air conditioning unit was loud. It was useful to have a fridge in microwave and a coffee maker in the room.
It’s nice to have an extra sink in the hallway to brush your teeth. Overall, a good size room and fair value for the money.

1 treadmill is apparently a fitness room.
Renee
I liked the tables outside, near the lobby. Nice garden area.
Jennifer
Great value for price, extremely large room with refrigerator and kitchenette. Free coffee and tea all day although I had to ask for hot water because the carafe was not hot. Breakfast was grab and go of packaged pastries, but coffee was decent. Excellent customer service. Be aware that given the location of the hotel, some of the rooms do face the 101 freeway and get some of the residual noise from it but it’s not a dealbreaker. The only concern was that the room appeared to not be well cleaned. We found some used eyelashes in front of the bathroom sink. Given the obvious location of the eyelashes, it’s amazing that the cleaner did not find it. Sidenote: we found the other side eyelash on the second floor outside of the elevator. lol
Darlene
The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. There was some kids making noise at the pool below. “Breakfast “ was not really a breakfast at all. If you want a decent breakfast, don’t go here.
Janette
We were upgraded to a superior room. I didn't see it very superior. The power plug beside the bed did not work. The place seemed dated and shabby. The breakfast was very sparse compared to other places. Our son had a room over the street. It. was much nicer. It certainly needed. updating.
Delia
The room was huge! I highly recommend for parents bringing their kids to college.
KRISTINA
Room was clean, staff was friendly and informative of the area. Breakfast was to go style. Pastries, fruit, oatmeal, coffee, team. Definitely good place for the price
Maria
Nice hot tub, staff wonderful
Lesley
We arrived a lot earlier than expected and were able to check in. The room was nice and clean and the pool and jacuzzi were absolutely marvelous.
Lynn
Room was clean, nicely decorated. With the chill in the air from the wind, we bypassed the pool and headed into the spa. After a man came out (we had been in luke warm water for about 20 min) he turned on the heat and in a few minutes we really enjoyed the spa. Bed was comfortable. Didn't see much in the way of breakfast. Did get a cup of coffee. Lady at check-in was great - Jessica. Wanted to make sure we had everything we needed.
Diana
The hotel promised breakfast. It’s not breakfast so much as plastic wrapped danishes and coffee, hot cocoa packets. I don’t even think it meets the standard of “continental breakfast“
Kimberly
Hotel is a bit dated, but it's very clean. Fitness room does have a limited amount of equipment but it was nice enough for some stress relief time. Hotel is located in a quieter part of SLO so that was nice
Christian
Front desk was super nice, welcoming, and friendly!
Nicolas
Clean. Close to gas station, restaurants and the college campus.
Manuel
The staff was most friendly and accommodating, room was very comfortable. I just wished the jacuzzi was a little warmer, I could have mentioned something but I didn’t…. Overall a great experience.
Georgia
Perfect for our short stay
Ronald
The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. would have preferred more options for breakfast but it was ok. We were in town to watch my grandson play ball. Room was close to the games and a great price.
Gina
Great place to stay. Very friendly staff. Rooms clean.
Larry
Very clean, nice breakfast, courteous and kind staff.
Marie
The staff was very kind and helpful every interaction we had. Parking was street side only over the weekend, no spaces available in their lots. I was a little surprised to see the \"grab & go breakfast\" consisted of a basket of oranges & apples and some coffee urns & tea bags. Our remote on our TV never worked (remote worked just never synced with theTV), the sink faucet leaked unless tightened extremely tight, and the shower head was not spraying out of all nozzles despite switching the settings. The view from the 3rd floor was beautiful. We did not use the pool or hot tub because when we decided to go, realized staff needed a 30 minute notice to turn the heaters on, so we decided to not use it.
Shlomi
Great stuff , very large and comfortable rooms . Only bad thing is the fwy next to it
Mandi
Yelling kids, early, & slamming doors often was a big let down! No sleep due to others being rude & very disappointing too. WE all pay to stay there😡
Mo
It was a cool little spot to stay. When we went it was under construction so there wasn’t breakfast nor a gym like specified in their description. They did provide a little goodie bag but for someone who specifically looks for hotels with breakfast and a gym it was disappointing to show up and they have neither.
Victor
Room was clean. Towels worn out. Bed comfortable. Pillows were ok. Breakfast very poor, packaged pastries tasted like plastic and ultraprocessed. Grab and go to your room. No juice. Coffee watered down. Oranges and apples old. No bananas. ( better book w/o breakfast) A lot of parking.
Rocio
The front desk was friendly and helpful. First time staying here and it won’t be the last. It was the peaceful quiet and tidy space I was hoping for. I found the price affordable without compromising cleanliness and location.

The staff didn’t explain about two parking lots, gave our room keys out to another guest as their room booked as we were sleeping that first night and they walked in and said it was a glitched in the computer system, room was old, refrigerator was broken, bathroom shower needed repairs, breakfast was bagged pastries, weather was foggy and then warm. The manager was not helpful at all with calling me or email me back. I called to talk to her (Diana) she said she gave me a $50.00 discount for one night which we were there for a family weeding three nights and then hung up on me. I give it a one star for customer service. 10 years ago we used this hotel as one of our daughters wedding blocks and that is why we returned. I will never use this hotel again.
Edgar
Loved it and very nice place
Lorena
Super great staff!!!!!! Thank you to the young ladies who were sweet and welcoming. Definitely be back again!
Steven
Very clean and quiet. Would stay here again .

temperature control for the room was minimal. I put on the heat, but couldn't tell if it was warming the room at all. Luckily the temperature outside was mild.
Barbara

ARMANDO
A bedside lamp in our room did not work. A couple of TV channels, including our favorite news channel, had no audio (staff was not able to help with it). And the bathtub drained slowly.
Wyatt
Convenient to downtown.
Sarah
Rooms are a nice size and great location
Debbi
Breakfast was grab and go. We didn’t go in the hot tub. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Charles

Philip

This is a great little hotel for SLO. Despite proximity to the highway and major road, we were not bugged by traffic noise. We were in the original building so I will warn any super neat freaks that the hotel is a well maintained property, but not new. I have zero complaints about the cleanliness... just if you like a brand new, sterile corporate feel go to a Hilton or something.
This was the best value I found for comfort/ location/ amenities/ vibe to keeping the cost as reasonable as possible... FYI, SLO gas prices and hotel prices are pretty much always on the higher side. I would recommend it those checking out CalPoly and who want to see what the off campus neighborhoods are like or just be close to the school.
Since it is close to CalPoly campus, there were some students cutting through the property on a Friday and Saturday night as they walked to parties and such. I am from SLO so the neighborhood feels plenty safe to me -- it is mostly student housing and hotels right there, so that's the vibe. The rooms are a nice size with kitchenette and the continental breakfast featured pastries from a local source.
The staff was super nice and I like the policy of maid service being provided if you schedule it - since we don't need it for a 2 night stay when we are just using the room as a place to sleep during a family get together. We will definitely try to use it next time.

Staff was super nice.. Hotel was super cute.. Located in a nice area..
Kate
The front desk person was friendly and welcoming. The hotel is so clean, it is dated but everything is so well maintained. Our 2 queen bed room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Hot coffee in the morning and muffins from a bakery in SLO. We will stay there again !
Katy E
Clean, quiet, and comfortable. Didn’t use many of the amenities so can’t rate those.
Maya
We enjoyed the pool and hot tub! Pool is heated and you can request the hot tub be heated by calling the front desk 30 mins before you plan to go.
They have a beautiful garden with flowers and sitting areas with patio tables and chairs. Great view of the mountains.
Located right off the 101, near Cal Poly and downtown.
The room has a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. We had a balcony overlooking the pool on the third floor.
Coffee and tea also available in the lobby.

The breakfast was awful. The walls were so thin I could hear everyone next me all the time. The room was old and seemed dingy and not very clean. My tv was broken.
David
This property was beautifully landscaped. Good room size. Restaurant and gas station by it. Close to cal poly.
Good parking.
Only bad thing was the to go breakfast was limited and lacking. Ended up going somewhere to eat breakfast

We stayed at Buena Vista Hotel this weekend and had a good overall experience. The place was clean and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast included coffee and some bakery items, which was a nice touch. A solid option for a short and easy stay.
Maria
Check-in staff was very courteous and pleasant. The room was spacious with microwave and larger than average mini-frig. Having the shower separate from the single sink was very useful. Cleanliness was superb and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Would stay here again.
Ming
We didn't know we need to bring our own tooth brush, tooth paste, and slippers. We have not been in a hotel for 10+ years and things have changed. The window facing the hallway was not locked after we left the room for the first time since we arrived. Nothing was lost. We locked it for the rest of our stay. We did not try the gym or the hot tub so I am not commenting on the gym or the hot tub.
Cheryl
Good value. Good place to relax for a night. I recommend this place. Staff are very a welcoming.
Haseeb
We had booked executive room, but it was next to freeway with no noise dampening. I did not expect a hotel can allow have so much noise in the room without getting any complaints.
I think they should certainly install some noise barriers for their guests to be able to sleep

“Breakfast” is laughable. Choice of apples, packaged pastries, and coffee. Didn’t have enough towels and the phone to call the front desk didn’t work. Had to go get towels and no one was at the front desk. Had to wait 20 mins to get towels. Parking was horrendous. Barely found 1 spot. Guests staying there were unfriendly and loud. This place barely passes as a “hotel”.
Veronica
The remote didn’t work we had to stand in front of the TV in order to get it to work. The breakfast was a joke.

Really good. Front desk was good. Room was nice. Bathroom was clean. Pool and jacuzzi looked clean. Neighbors were a little crazy but that’s not the hotels fault. Overall good stay.
David
Easy check in. Hotel is right off the freeway. The rooms are very basic and nothing flashy. You get exactly what you pay for. My only complaint is that the bathrooms are a little outdated and the water pressure in the showers are nonexistent. If you’re going up the road, I need a place to stay that’s affordable and easily accessible, this is your place.
Abednego
Good, spacious room! Very clean.
