My stay at this place was terrible but I want to be fair that it is partially due to my choice of room. I've chosen the cheapest double room because it was just an overnight stay. This room type plus maybe one or two higher grade rooms (something like 101-118) are next to a busy street facing a gas station. I was given a room at the end with one window facing the street, the other facing the gas station. I expressed concern about the traffic noise but the staff member at check in said \"the end rooms were the only rooms left for the price you chose\". I still believe him. But I wish he had offered me option to upgrade to a quiet room. I would have been okay with paying a little extra. I am Asian and I have a sense that there had been some profiling from this particular gentleman. The room was not clean and maintained poorly. The light blind was falling apart which allow the gas station's bright flush light come in. The windows and walls are not sound proof at all. I ended up not sleep much at all that night. In addition, the front desk closed at 10pm and I could not find someone to help me switch room after that. At that time, I would have been willing to pay an arm and leg to be able to sleep in a quiet and darker room. This was a small trip so I did not pay much attention when picking this hotel. Maybe everything is as advertised or \"I get what I paid for\". I'm not being nasty toward them. But I want to leave this review so that you don't repeat my experience.

Terrible place, old noisy equipment for cooling, to include attic fans and air-conditioning units, so much noise you had to go outside to use the telephone.
Asked if something could be done and verry salty clerk snaped nothing I can do, live with it. When I protested her attitude and told her that is not acceptable, she very harshly agreed to change our room
Overall the place is old and very noisy you can hear everything that goes on through the complex, it is so old I do not think soundproofing was invented at the time it was built.
The front desk person is vvery mean and unprofessional

We have stayed here several times, and the cleanliness was always very good. This place has fallen. Sheets had blood stains and appeared to have been washed and re-used several times. No soap in the body wash dispenser, and the breakfast was minimal horrible.

The power was out when I arrived here but came back on after roughly an hour. The problem with this place is that there was an unpleasant smell permeating the room. This may have been from the detergent/bleach they use on linens and towels. Despite this, I also found some stains on the sheets. The bed also made a creak/clang from movement. All of this made for poor sleep.

There are a lot of cute converted Inns in SLO, but this was not one of them. From the outside it looks cute but inside the rooms, it truly is just an old motel. For the price, I thought I would be getting an upgraded motel and service.
Beds were not comfortable, lighting was subpar, shower was old and gross, and you could hear through the walls. Included “breakfast” was hard boiled eggs or toast - that was it.
If this came at a lower price, I would’ve given it more stars. But for the price, you can get a lot better down the road.

This is a sweet little inn/motel that is much larger than it appears from the street My bed was very comfortable and my room was very clean. There were a couple of minor cosmetic things that could be touched up, but overall it was everything I needed and comfortable. My room was closer to the road and if I stay again I would try a room towards the back. Wish I had tried this place sooner as I would have been a repeat customer!

What a gem! My room was simple, yet clean and comfortable. There's a beautiful space under a big tree to enjoy morning coffee (or in my case, juice) and some breakfast while enjoying the hillside view. The room was quiet, the staff was beyond friendly, and I was really satisfied with my stay. I was a little wary when I saw the price, but took a chance and was really pleased that I paid about one-third of what I would have paid elsewhere and had a very pleasant, homey experience. Five stars - easy.

A very good value rating for a very good value motel option in SLO. This was my first stay. The King Bed was comfortable in one of the pet friendly Family Rooms with King and Pull Out couch and laminate floors. A variety of pillow options were nice from squishy to firm. Was definitely less modern/less updated but it has what you need! Very basic soap/shampoo. Very friendly helpful staff. Some street noise but I needed the fan on at night so it masked any noise. I definitely slept well. I didn’t have coffee or breakfast. 1865 restaurant is steps away and has great batch cocktails (Bourbon and Blood was excellent), nice wine and food (burger). I’d stay here again especially for value. A friend had a room with 2 double beds and they were very much doubles (or narrow doubles) and certainly not queens. Would be hard to fit more than one adult in each bed so just be aware of that.

The service is always outstanding. The host met me late after she was supposed to be gone as my plane was getting in late. I appreciate their area to get filtered water, snacks, etc and the room is comfortable. The main issue is the noise from the nearby highway and main street which went on from late night to early morning.

The room I stayed in was very quiet with a forest park like backyard with a fair amount of birds chirping in the evening and was very comfortable feeling. Also had a Roundtable pizza delivered right to the room. Overall it was a pleasant stay at this property.
