Dawn
Beautiful modern property in the heart of SLO. Easy walk to shops, restaurants and the Mission. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated. We dined at the casual restaurant; the food was good and the service prompt and attentive. We used valet parking, in part because the staff were able to charge our car overnight. The drop off and retrieval process was very efficient.
We did experience a couple of issues: We had a room immediately below the roof bar. It was noisy, particularly after the evening events finished and staff cleared up the area. The front desk staff were receptive to feedback and made some adjustments. I suggest guests consider requesting a lower level room or one away from the bar area.
The room was tastefully decorated but, in my opinion, sacrificed function for aesthetics. Specifically, there was only one small drawer and one shelf for clothes although the room could accommodate more storage. This seems to be a theme with newer hotels.
We would definitely stay here again.

We had an amazing stay! The staff were lovely and so helpful. The food at Piadina was amazing for lunch and breakfast

I love Hotel SLO and have stayed there several times. It’s a beautiful property, in the middle of downtown, with ridiculously comfortable beds and an excellent staff. Unfortunately, the last couple times I’ve stayed there have been some maintenance issues in the rooms that have not been addressed. The door to our bathroom was very difficult to slide and all in all everything in the bathroom was loose, tired, and needed attention. It feels like Hotel SLO is riding on its laurels and not working hard to maintain its excellence as a Michelin recognized property.

Really good facility
Carlos
Loved it all
Steven
This hotel is very well located. Overall I'm not sure it merits the costs. It felt more like a Marriott Suites.
Daniel
Beautiful hotel in downtown. Close to restaurants and shopping
Ricardo
Would stay here again

Great place!
Shiyi
Fantastic location. Walking to many great restaurants in downtown slo. The staffs are super friendly and chill. We received $35 beverage credit as an Expedia VIP guest. We love the spacious room and pool. The room cleaning person could be more detail oriented. E.g notice the tub needs cleaning.

LETICIA
Newer, modern and beautiful hotel. Rooms are spacious, super clean and nicely decorated. Loved the location, walking distance to so many restaurants and stores. Will definitely be back when in SLO.
Kelly
This isn’t the first time we’ve stayed at Hotel SLO, Everytime we’ve stayed here has been wonderful. The staff is kind and the amenities are on point.
Michael
My second time staying here. This is a near-perfect small hotel. Located right in the middle of SLO's wonderfully walkable downtown. My room was very large, with a very generous patio. Excellent shower, excellent bed. The place has the feel of a good place o work, a nice vibe. Restaurant is top-notch, especially for a hotel restaurant.
One very small complaint. And this is for all hotel designers everywhere: Leave the lights alone. Use normal switches with rheostats. Don't make me study the instant I enter the room.

Wonderful staff, beautiful room.
Anne
Beautiful room (#310) with a nice view. Very accommodating staff as well. We had dinner at the Ox & Anchor and it was fantastic! Overall, we had a wonderful stay. My only complaint, and the reason for 4 stars was the bed. Very uncomfortable. Other than that, it was amazing!
FRANCISCO
Wonderful rooms, new facilities, and delicious restaurant downstairs. Definitely will come back.
Petja
Room was spotless, well designed, and had great amenities. Staff was attentive on check-in and check-out. And the hotel is in the heart of the town…perfect location. Roof top bar/patio was such a nice bonus. Ate dinner at the Ox&Anchor…wonderful meal. Look forward to a future stay.
Carol
Yea everything great
Jamie
Room was big and beautiful! So comfortable, amenities were over the top. Absolutely love everything about this hotel and can’t wait to stay again.
Susan
The staff were exceptionally great! Rooms clean, comfortable, so centrally located. Restaurant food was also very good. I would surely return!
Anthony
Friendly staff lovely room and nice amenities
Roxanne
Beautiful hotel with very friendly helpful staff. The bed was very comfortable. The only thing I didn't like is that you either have to valet park your car or go across the street and use the paid public parking structure. I prefer not to valet park my car but didn't really like the other option. This left me without my preferred freedom when it came to using my car. I like the snack and fresh breakfast items available at the front desk but would have liked a little more variety. Overall, very nice hotel and staff.
Michelle
Always enjoy my stay!
michelle
Great space, friendly staff and good restaurants - we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Victoria
Lovely staycation at Hotel SLO! We thoroughly enjoyed the suite, roof top bar, Ox and Anchor dinner next door, and roaming around SLO. I would 100% recommend this hotel.

Hotel is close to everything. Room is very spacious and has a mountain view. Lobby bar is lively and makes good cocktails. Self-parking in the garage is convenient right across from the hotel at $8 per night. we enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful room and nice rooftop bar!
Jay
Very clean, modern hotel. Friendly staff. Helpful with local restaurants and recommendations for local sightseeing. Would definitely return
Jude
Staff was very friendly and helpful
Veronica
This used to be my favorite hotel, but every time I come here, something gets downgraded. This time, room service (Piadina) didn’t answer the phone when I called repeatedly to order breakfast. The sink in the bathroom was clogged.
Joseph
My only complaint is that our room was under the roof top bar and was extremely noisy until around midnight, otherwise everything was great!
Lyubov
The rugs smelled like dog poo and when we moved them they had pee stains under them. Bathroom was not very clean either.
Kim
the bed was old, saggy and uncomfortable
kelly
Beautiful design, so lovely. Ended up staying on property. Great staff:)
Anna
The location was great for access to downtown SLO and the rooms are spacious. Nice amenities such as robes, slippers, water and coffee. The staff were friendly and helpful.
One suggestion is to avoid room facing the pool. There’s some area not in the hotel that seems to play music most of the day and you can hear it.

The hotel is in a great location. Everyone was friendly and there are taps for still and sparkling water. Great bar too!
Laura
I was really excited to stay here because of the walkability and how cute it looked. However I think we had the absolute worst room possible. Don’t stay in room 209. It’s the only room that shares a wall to the gym and the room starts rattling at 5am or so from people dropping weights. Also the thermostat didn’t work so we went downstairs to tell the front desk and they set the room to 68 but it was absolutely freezing and if I turned it off it just turned back on because they had to set it from the front desk. We had to go down at 5am to tell them to turn it up or let us turn it off. I’ve just never slept so bad. Don’t stay in that room whatever you do.
Gail
Disappointing 3-day stay
Were offered a discount of 20% when we checked in as we are Cal Poly parents, completed the necessary form online but at checkout were denied the discount. Staff claimed it was because we prepaid through 3rd party. They should write this on their website!! This is not a hotel to stay for comfort, room is not cozy at all. No drawers to unpack--small drawer next to bed. A/C blows directly on bed & sofa. Hi Bar was inaccessible Fri night due to capacity so that was disappointing. Good for one night, 3 was too many. Would not stay again, too much money for not much comfort. Pool area lovely. Great location.
Andréa
Lovely, chill hotel with attentive and friendly service that was relaxed. Plus, they accept dogs! Valet parking also was the good and they have EV chargers! Great views, too.
Cassie
Beautiful hotel with exceptional service. Perfect location in downtown to walk to everything. Loved all the little extras that made you feel taken care of like the water ready in the fridge, the nesspresso machine, couple snacks, free coffee downstairs and water refills by the ice machines. I can tell how clean a place is by how dirty my toddlers feet get from the floors and they stayed clean! Definitely will be my go to place when visiting my daughter.
Jen
Wonderful but overpriced for what you get
Greg
Happiest Place on Earth
A two night staycation in SLO that did not disappoint. Staff was exceptional and the Hotel is a gem, with the best location in town and the best rooftop view.
Alexandra
Wonderful, great staff, service, and comfy. Great shopping and food just a step away.
abby
The rooms were spacious and clean and so nice. The wood floors were so appealing.
The beds were very comfortable. Linens were lovely.
There was sufficient lighting and these days that’s a plus, although one of of my lamps was broken.
My only complaint was the sliding heavy bathroom door.
Prefer a real door that opens closes and locks.
On a 2 week, 4 different hotel experiences, This one was the most comfortable….
The others were 5 star ones
Highly recommend the Hotel San Luis Obispo

One of the best hotels we have stayed in. Beautiful, modern design, great service, great food, spacious room, great spa and a great location that was walkable to all of downtown San Luis Obispo. Highly recommended.

Superior place to stay!! Our room was upgraded, the staff turned down our bed and left chocolate each night. Great restaurants on site and rooftop bar. Friendly staff! Walking distance to so many restaurants, coffee shops and retail stores! Great location!!

Great hotel fir visiting SLO
Very nice property. Bigger than it looked from the outside. The entire property felt very open and bright - even the hallways! The room was comfortable. Location was convenient. Just across the street ftom the Mission. We parked across the street in the public lot. We are too impatient to wait for the valet!
Appreciated the glass bottles of water in the room along with the fridge.
Had dinner at the steakhouse which was good. Did not eat breakfast at the hotel so cant comment.

Best 4-star hotel
I'm impressed. This might be the most comfortable 4-star hotel I've stayed at. It even beats some of the 5-star places.
The suite was clean, had a very comfortable layout, and well-thoughtout amenities (e.g. easy access to filtered water). Great noise blocking between rooms when we traveled with an infant. The downtown location worked out great for the infant, too - we were able to just take the stroller out for a walk or coffee without having to drive.
The noises from the street wasn't able to be blocked as much though. If a car with a loud engine drive by or a group of teenagers skateboard by the building, you would hear it very clearly. The staff was able to help take care of the skateboarders very promptly.
The staff - from the bell service to front desk - was friendly and helpful. Some of them turned down the offer of a tip. I hope this is an indication that the staff is fairly compensated.
It is valet parking only, so we have to organize our luggage accordingly (what to bring up and what stays in the car). But the valet is very fast if you need access to your car. I believe our car was available within 5 minutes.

Love Hotel SLO!
This was our 3rd stay at Hotel SLO and our experience was fabulous every time. The rooms are amazing and clean, and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The location couldn’t be better. We walked everywhere! Shopping, restaurants and hiking were steps away. The rooftop bar and pizza were a favorite. We will be back!

Recently stayed here and didn’t have the best experience but this last trip was amazing. Staff at front desk, Guinerveve was so sweet and remembered me from last time. The staff at the restaurant went above and beyond. Had an amazing stay.

Great stay, awesome room
Great stay. Great check in experience the girl that helped us was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was great too, we stayed in the double queen and it was extremely roomy. The rooms are updated and have comfy beds. View of Madonna from balcony was cool.

Other than the beautiful scenic views from the rooms and restaurant, this hotel is old and the staff are not motivated.

Our favorite hotel in SLO
The room was spacious, and comfortable. The staff are SO friendly and helpful. We really loved the rooftop bar and the pizza and wine on Monday night were delicious!
Also, we love the location. We walked everywhere. Made too many trips to Boo Boo Records! A big favorite! Can’t wait to come back.

This is a GREAT hotel with great staff. It is a bit noisy. Our room faced a parking garage and we heard party-goers at 2am when the bars closed and then also all the garbage trucks at 5-6am. Otherwise, great hotel and great location.
