No heat. I wore two shirts and a jacket. Staff and owners know the heat does not work, and they do nothing. Staff told me to complain the next day, there was nothing they could do. Very uncomfortable, but I am stuck here for the night.

This Hotel was a headache from the moment we walked in to check in, staff was not helpful, rude, couldn’t answer any questions. Rooms Ac/Heater unit was awful made a hug loud noise the entire time. The bathroom lights were out, one light worked in the room very dark.

The property was ok for the price you pay.. property is run down. Black mold around the tub. Carpets are dirty. Blankets were gross found food in them so obviously they didn't clean them or change them out. The front office was closed already by the time we went to our room.

The parking situation was good and its a place to sleep. Unfortunately SLO is quite expensive to stay in so for the price anywhere else you'd be laughed at for paying. The room was very rough and run down, but the bed was clean and comfortable. The \"breakfast\" consisted of premade pastries and over brewed coffee. It wasn't bad, it's just way less than expected, like I have stayed in nicer motel 6s.

The place was dirty to the point of scary. Wasn't sure it was safe, but didn't have a choice as it was last minute and couldnt afford to pay for a 2nd hotel (and not get back my Lamplighter $). Was afraid of bedbugs or cockroaches. Didn't get any sleep. Why is it so run down and still getting7-8 stars? Fals advertising. I did not thinki I booked a 2/10 star place. For a few bucks more, go somewhere else. I would like a full refund honestly.

I checked in on 2/26 at 3 pm. front desk guy, small, wiry with spectacles. First he was very rude to me, then he insulted me, then , for a moment, I thought he was gonna come around the counter and assault me. I was polite the entire time. I kept my mouth shut lest the guy just cancel my reservation outright. Later on, I was leaving to get dinner. a random guest was coming out of the lobby. I asked \" excuse me, how was your interaction with the desk guy?\" he replied \" the guy was totally rude with anger issues\".
I have stayed at this property multiple times. NO More. Plus there was no HVAC in the room. no air conditioning and No heat. plus it was the most remote from office, Im sure the desk guy put me there on purpose. I hope upper management reads this

The Manager is not cooperative. The heater in my room was not working, I went to the front disk and and told the front desk employee that room is cold. He said I can’t do anything, after some argument he was ready to fight with me and called the police. Eventually I slept in my very cold room. I swear until 2 or 2 o’clock in the morning I didn’t fall asleep. The next day I talked to the front desk Manager, he said he would fix it. I asked again when do you fix iit? He raised his voice on me and loudly said, as soon as the maintenance guy comes. My feeling told me that he was lying. In the evening I came back to the hotel the room was very cold and the heater was not working. I went to the front desk a young man was at the front desk. He was kind enough to put me in another room which was warm. I swear to God what I wrote is true. I know it is hard to believe how a front disk manager could be so rude to rais his voice on a gust. The employee was so impolite, and his behavior clearly telling you that he was from a low class person. I never had such terrible experience in my life with a front desk manager and employee.

The fist room they gave me had not been cleaned. The second room door didn't want to open with the room key. Once the key worked after about 50 tries, I had to almost kick down the door just to open it. Some of the lamps in the room didn't work, and one recessed light in the bathroom was falling apart. Terrible experience overall.

Horrible. Went through several rooms before found one where everything works (one room probably got mold exposure from entering) but no microwave or coffee maker. Took 6 days to get brought to room. Racist against Hispanics desk clerk. Stayed over a month and given worst room, as far from lobby as possible. Horrible customer service. Charged twice and a $850 charge out of nowhere which I luckily caught and fixed. There is nobody to complain to higher up or corporate affiliate. Most of the hotel isn't even used. If I had to guess I would say it's only a front to launder money. Don't stay here.

Expect nothing except a room. Outlets connected to light switches - except there is no way to no until you wake up to a dead phone plugged in to a charger. Want temperature control? The remote doesn’t work, so you have to turn on the window unit. TV? Yeah - remote doesn’t work. Shower? Door has no handle so you can’t close it. Just a terribly maintained property.

Everything was amazing until the night. We turned on the light and unfortunately found roaches in the bathroom. The people and room was great if they didn't have the roaches i would give it 8 out of 10. But i would say 2 out of 10. I give 2 cause roaches migrate and can hitch long your belongs. I can handle no hot water, tv issues, or noise issues but there was none these issues. Unfortunately this is one place i won't stay again, so sorry.

This is the worst stay at a hotel that I have ever had.

I don't leave negative reviews but I am making an exception for the very inappropriately-named Lamplighter Inn.

Issues:

1) You can't check in between midnight and 6 a.m. It is not on the rules they sent ahead of time. I learned the hard way when my flight was delayed and they said we couldn't come late.

2) The evening staff I spoke to about my situation could not stop talking or interrupting; he was extremely unsympathetic and defensive. I didn't trust him to be able to cancel one night and not the whole reservation so I just kept my whole reservation. I was able to de-escalate but then he started talking AGAIN and when I kept interjecting to get a confirmation he just kept blathering.

3) A literal hole in our wall the size of a bullet hole.

4) Black colored mold on the shower grout.

5) Door had been repainted haphazardly, so it looks like it was just smeared with chocolate sauce.

6) Pool and hot tub were visibly littered with debris, not the normal amount one sees in an outdoor pool, but looked unmaintained and closed.

7) We could hear through the walls at speaking level. Not loud TV but like regular conversation.

8) Signage is unreasonably antagonistic and paranoid, like anyone wants their over-bleached locker-room towels.

9) The coffee machine is not near an outlet that it can easily be plugged into.

10) Bathroom fan didn't work.

I would rather sleep in my car.

The experience was terrible. I do NOT recommend this hotel. AC and furniture was broken, bathroom tub appeared rusted, toilet seats were broken, the room felt highly unsanitary, comforters had bodily fluid stains, walls were covered in stains throughout, deadbolt locks on doors were broken. We were moved between four different rooms and each room was the same. We left shortly after check in without receiving a refund.

The hotel is in a good area. we were just disappointed that the cleanliness just isn’t there. The shower curtain was yellow, when at one point it seemed that it used to be white and it smelled really bad. The covers on bed were stained dirty, I didn’t complain on the bed cover being stained only because the white sheets were clean. But I doubt I’d consider staying there again.

I did not end up staying at this hotel. Upon arrival, front desk attendant was rude and condescending from the moment I walked in.
I was told Expedia shouldn’t have confirmed a reservation with them. They were basically fully booked. He proceeded to look at his computer (while grumbling that the reservation shouldn’t have been booked), shaking his head, stated that housekeeping had not been there that day. He found me a room type that I booked. He said See if that works. Went to the room and it was used (bed was still not made and bathroom unclean). I promptly returned to the front desk. I asked what my options were. I was told condescendingly that my only choice was another room with a double bed. Fine, happens. Front desk said You’re getting a bigger room for the same price- I don’t know what you would have to complain about. Went to that room, but the AC was not working. I returned back down to the front desk to inform him of the problem, where again he curtly told me to plug in the unit and it will work with the thermostat. I went back again to the room and still not working. Back to the front desk. He was not helpful to find a solution. Proceeded to speak to me rudely, and I called him out on it. Told me he won’t be lectured to. Terrible service. I was told just call Expedia and tell them we can’t accommodate you. We do it all the time.
It’s was so late at this point, and he was so incredibly rude and unhelpful. No courtesy. I left. Would not recommend.

It was a nice hotel, but I had a problem when checking in. The young guy up front was pretty rude or just having a bad day not sure, but when I when in to check in and I guess this hotel doesn't take debit cards when put a hold for the room. Aka $150 just in case you mess up the room. You have to pay with a \"credit card\".... I've been staying at different hotel for over 5 years and never ran into this problem. I drive over 5 hours to get to this town for business and now I can't sleep here... Then this guy said I could stay there but NOW I would have to paid \"$500\" cash. I'm like what... I called hotels.com about it since I booked the hotel though them. I was on the phone with him for some time and he did the best he could with this situation that was going on. I lucky had $500 cash on me at the time. I walked back in but I guess NOW this guy was leaving for the day and now he couldn't help me. So I had to wait for the next guy which was about 30 seconds. Not to long. I told this guy that the other guy said I could pay $500 cash since I didn't have a credit card and he said, \"sorry we don't take cash\". I said the other guy just said I could. He said he was not sure what was said but we don't take cash. I walked out not happy and now no were to sleep after driving all this way. I was in my van about to call hotel.com back. The other guy walk out and talked with me and made the situation right. Aka I had some were to sleep now and I didn't pay that. I wouldn't stay here again.

My friend and I got a couple rooms for the weekend. We found some rotten pieces of an apple on the A/C unit in one of the rooms and thought \"it's wtvr, this is just gonna be one of 'those' hotel stays\". But as the night progressed we noticed a hole in the wall, burn marks on the blankets, and thennnn we spotted a bunch of roaches. After killing the roaches so the kids could calm down, I moved the upholstered chair in the corner of the room and found some decomposed stuff stuck to the carpet. Still not sure what it was but I threw it away. It was late at night, but staying in that room wasn't tolerable so we requested another room. The night-time counter clerk was sympathetic and nice, and provided new room cards quickly. We found rotten food in the new room as well... What the actual heck, guys. Pay your cleaning people better and maybe they'll care. The hot tub was out of service and the pool had what looked like a bunch of leaves and dirt in it. Won't be staying at this place again.

Wowza, where do I start? I’m not generally one to write reviews as I typically just don’t return to places if I’m not fond of them. For this, I’m going out of my way to help future guests steer clear. This place is a literal hazard. I can’t say I’m totally shocked given the price… but I’ve never stayed in a hotel, Inn or motel worse than this. The front desk person was nice and helpful, no complaints there. Once I made it into my room, I noticed the EXTREME staining on the carpet. I set my bags on one of the two beds before I noticed the glitter and crusty stains on the blankets. I’m not talking - washed but wont come out stains - I’m talking thick fluids that dried into a crust and haven’t been washed at all stains. To the point of near gagging, I stripped the comforter to inspect sheets. Big surprise, more stains and full of hairs. I called several hotels nearby but was unsuccessful in finding another room in the middle of the night on such short notice. I went back to inspect the bed again, and thats when I saw a roach - a literal COCKROACH - on the wall. On top of that, the panel for the AC unit was destroyed and not at all in a functional state, several of the lamps were having issues, the ‘furniture’ is dingy, falling apart, and missing pieces, there was a questionable odor, towels were dirty, shower had not been cleaned, the complementary shampoos were used, and the shower caulking was moldy and gross. Absolutely will not stay again, and I’d advise you don’t either.

Hotel is being remodeled and the rooms they are keeping in service are in bad shape. Missing handles and latches. Carpet is filthy and sticky. Linens had stains and holes. Pool and jacuzzi were not in working order. Ironic that we were warned at check in against removing anything from the room - that would have been an improvement.

Check in was fast no wait but hit a snag as the first room we were given was not cleaned. Beds were unmade trash not removed so housekeeping had not cleaned that room. Called front desk and they put us in another room. Other room was cleaned beds made but bathroom had invaded wall paint in the bathroom coming off and also in the second room we had in the family suite. Bathroom was missing a light bulb and only one tv remote for two TVs that the room had. It was only a one night stay but don’t think we would stay again as it seems that the property needs some updating and possibly better customer service as the front desk clerk was very short and responded to questions as if checking in was inconvenience to him.

Room was spacious :)

We really enjoyed the hotel overall and the spacious room, unfortunately the air conditioning was broken they attempted to service it the day we were out and it was unsuccessful, and the hotel was fully booked so moving rooms wasn’t an option. The pool was dirty (the vacuum wasn’t set up to run) there was a layer of dirt on the bottom of the pool and the jacuzzi was out of service.

The property is quiet and clean. I slept well there and felt that the staff was kind and helpful too. I look forward to staying there again soon.

Pillows were square shape. Refrigerator has spilled chocolate drink.left uncleaned. Flat iron was dusty and most all there was a rat outside living in the awning of the property

Great view from 3rd floor. Standard motel with basic bed, desk, TV, mini fridge, bathtub shower, etc. Got the job done and was fine. Would stay again.
