Enjoyed the stay. It was a last minute booking, very surprised with the accommodation and how lovely it was. Disappointed that the restaurant attached closed at 7 pm on a holiday weekend when other resorts were open till 9. Otherwise great spot, beautiful views

There were stains on the rug in our room. My daughter also had a stain on her sheet and wouldn't sleep on the bed. I had to buy 2 beach towels, so she could lay on them.

The rooms are in need of updating, and wear and tear is definitely showing, especially in the bathrooms. The $10 parking charge also feels excessive. Another major issue was the water pressure while taking a shower, the pressure and heat were fine at first, then suddenly the water pressure dropped. I turned up the heat, and then when the pressure came back, the water became scalding hot. It was frustrating and unsafe. I used to love staying here, but considering the price and the current condition of the property, I’m not sure I’ll be back.

The hot tub here is really small.

We go there for the view. We always get an ocean front room ground floor room.
Out in the yard they have seating with fire pits.
What’s not to love.

Very disappointed in room. Ended up in below parking lot level room with view of car tires. Thought I paid for partial ocean view. When checked in they told me for extra $50 a night I could have different room. Plenty of other hotels for the price.

The staff was beyond helpful with the check in process and stay overall. The rooms were just cleaned upon arrival and easy access to the room. We tried to go down to the fire pits but they were all taken already and then tried again 2 hours later we checked again but to no luck. If you want to use the pits I would go out there early. Overall a great place to stay when visiting Pismo Beach.

Being unfamiliar with the Pismo Beach area, I picked the wrong place for what I wanted to experience there. I was looking for easy beach access, this hotel was on a bluff, I had wanted to hear waves crashing and instead I heard the highway traffic. I didn't see any close places for breakfast in the morning and we we were told that the restaurant at Spyglass was closed. Therefore we didn't spend much time at our almost $500 room, we went downtown and ate, shopped, and walked the beach. That's where I will book a room next time.

One of the best hotels in Pismo Beach! The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and clean, the grounds are well-maintained and beautiful. The view from the ocean front room can't be beat! Easy on/off the freeway, walkable safe neighborhood with many restaurant options within walking/10 minute drive.

I liked the location it's close to where I wanted to go. Price is reasonable. I would stay there again. Behind is soft and comfortable and the complimentary soaps and hair products are awesome. My hair loved it! Having a daily parking fee is nonsense unless you are traveling with a group or have multiple vehicles. Check in should be by 2pm and not 4pm if you have to check out by 11am. Do not say partial ocean view when there are overgrown trees or obstacles in the view and charge extra for it. I did make a friend with a California Scrub Jay ❤️

Our first opinion when driving up was, it was the perfect location and vibe. We had to wait for our room given we arrived around 12:00 pm and check-in was 4:00pm. The room we were assigned had small flys all around the sliding door, bathroom, and found one in the sheets of the bed. When we called the front desk was very helpful and patient as well as sympathetic. The next room we were assigned was better; no flies but we did need a change of sheets due to stains being on the bed. After all that was established, it was a great and peaceful trip overall. The trail was perfect as well as our view of the ocean/sunsets.

The room was clean and nice size. It had a nice patio: bummed we didn’t book the ones that faced the ocean- so we had a nice view of a fence. Would stay again but book one of those ocean view rooms. We brought our dog and it was great for him- lots of grassy walking paths.

Absolutely incredible location and views. We arrived late (11pm) but enjoyed the coziness of the in-room fireplace. The room was clean, comfy and smelled clean and relaxing. Patio chair was missing a cushion, the other had a hole in it and an empty seltzer can was visible from under the hedges as we sat to enjoy the well-manicured grounds. Staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We will DEFINITELY be back.

The whole place looks like it needs to be renovated. Furniture in the room is uncomfortable and out dated. Looks worn and tired.
Charge you for parking which I did not see when making the reservation. Just a let down for the money you pay for the room.

We loved our stay here. The views are fantastic. It’s peaceful with beautiful gardens. I also enjoyed the fireplace in the room.
My only comments are the beds are soft ( old?)and you sink into it and the shower mat is kinda slippery when you get out of the shower. But the shower is nice and strong and hot.
The restaurant the Westerly was not open as it was being renovated but it has great views too.
The jacuzzi was nice and hot with strong jets and clean They have a microwave at the front you can use and they have complementary coffee and tea there too.
There are 4 hotels linked by the walk out back which is nice and there are stairs to the beach at the end of this walk. Just across the street ( thru the gas station) was a very good Italian store ( Depalo) with dinner/ dessert and just past that is an excellent Sushi place - Kenpai.
There’s a good amount of parking but a bit tight if you have a big vehicle and it’s free.
Definitely a place to go back to.

We've spent the past three anniversaries here & this will be our last.

We planned to relax in the jacuzzi our last night, but my husband instead walked in on a couple behaving inappropriately. He notified the front desk because their behavior was unacceptable, clearly unsanitary, & needed to be cleaned right away. We were later told the couple claimed they were "only swimming," which didn't reflect what was actually witnessed.

The following morning at checkout, I followed up with two front desk agents. There was no acknowledgment, no apology, & no concern. Just my bill handed to me & I was sent on my way.

I understand they may have been embarrassed since it wasn't their doing. Still, with my background in the hotel industry, I know how important guest experience & service recovery are. The complete lack of response especially for a returning guest, is unacceptable & is why we won't return.

We booked here as locals for a little stay-cation. We loved the hot tub and pool!
We liked being able to park in front of our room. It was quiet, you can’t hear the freeway from the room we stayed in. It’s about a 5 minute walk or 30 second drive to the beach/park from the hotel. Front desk staff was friendly.
The room had comfy beds, a spacious layout, and mini-fridge. Plenty of clean towels/linens were in the room, including bathrobes and pool towels.

The room carpet could use a deep clean under the beds, and we found that the shower products (specifically body wash and conditioner) were completely empty like housekeeping needs to check or refill the containers in the shower after guests leave.
We would stay here again though!

If you are a light sleeper and they can’t guarantee you the second floor accommodations this is not the place for you !

My only suggestion is to get an upper room as the floors have no insulation and we could hear every step above us no matter how light or heavy!

The Spyglass

I had a wonderful stay at The Spyglass. The room was quiet, spacious, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. I loved the added touches like the bathrobe and the full set of soap and shampoo dispensers—everything felt clean, modern, and convenient.

One of my favorite parts was the balcony overlooking the ocean. Waking up to that view and hearing the waves was absolutely peaceful and made the stay feel extra special.

Overall, a relaxing and refreshing experience. I’d definitely stay here again.

These rooms need some remodeling, better pipes and thicker walls. We could hear the man next to our room coughing throughout the night. When someone was using the water above us or next to us, the water noise was super loud in the walls. The carpet was gross and the balcony had tons of spider webs. The view from the back of the hotel was beautiful, but the firepit would not turn on.

Nice reasonably clean room. I did find a ant but I believe that is was change of season when insects come out. Nevertheless the stay was nice as there was air conditioning now and die to unseasonable hot weather that was great.
I loved the location as is middle of places that I like to visit and there is easy access to the beach.
I would like to see the on-site restaurant open again as it was great location.

It’s okay. Nothing to get excited about. It’s on the bluff with no beach access. Very nice grounds. Room was poorly updated: contemporary flooring over an uneven subfloor, upgraded bath fixtures mounted crooked, good color but poorly painted, things like that. Staff was efficient but not impressive.

We love this hotel! Yes it’s a little older but it has everything you need and is very pet friendly - a huge bonus for us!! This is our second year staying here for Spring Break and I would definitely come back again. For the price, you cannot beat the location, pool & spa. We truly love it here.

The room was fine, but for the price it was pretty average. We had upstairs neighbors check in around 10:00 pm and their kids were running, jumping, screaming until about 1:00 am! We had to call the front desk twice. Our sleep was severely disrupted. The next morning I complained to the front desk and all they offered was to refund the $10 parking fee. This room was too expensive to have a horrible night of sleep like we did. It was disappointing. And why do they charge $10 for parking anyway? It's their parking lot. The location is lovely and there's a great walking path down to the beach, but I will not stay here again.

Parking was easy and not full. The room was nice. Very thin walls. Room was ocean front first level. Room above could hear people walking and the bed was noisy. I woke up at 5:30am because the bed above squeaked and heard foot steps. View was beautiful though. Would again but on the second story.

After arriving late from a long drive we noticed Room was dirty smelled like heavy smoke I had to air out since I was traveling with my children then got a complaint for being loud after explaining we only have the patio door and front door open due to smoke smell we were still given a warning with no sympathy or regards to the smell of the smoke in the room

Property is nice enough. Rooms were actually pretty nice and bed was super comfy. Room was not ready at check-in time. There were several of us not able to check in on time. They also charge for parking which is always a turn off for me. They own the lot, no one uses it for beach access. Why charge extra? When I pushed on it and reminded them my room was sent ready, they agreed to waive the parking fee. The restaurant as closed for repairs.
