Nice stay in Oceano

The bed was comfortable. The unit was decorated nicely. The couches showed signs of wear but were comfortable. It was a bit confusing figuring out the tv set up and one of the controllers batteries were dead so we had to switch batteries back and forth, but that was a minor inconvenience. Overall it allowed us to experience a different area within SLO county that we hadn’t done before. It was just a block away from the beach access to the Ocean Dunes. All in all, it was definitely worth the price and provided more living space than had we paid the same price for a hotel room.

Another great stay!!

As always I had a nice stay. Although I have been coming here for years and it seems as if they havent been keeping up the maintenance of the units as they once did. Would do them justice to stay on top of it. Still a great valie for your money and itis always comfortable.

2025 anniversary trip

We have stayed here several times and enjoy doing so. This time they changed their check in to touchless and sent me an email with the check info, so that was a surprise along with sending the info on the same day as our check in, so we had no idea until we arrived the need to have access to our email to check in. they should do it the day before in my opinion.

We came in late and had a lot of trouble finding the unit. The sign on the door was missing and since the lights were out, it made it even harder to find .

We booked a 2 bedroom (1 king, 1 queen, with a pullout couch), but only found 1 king and a pullout couch. We squeezed in the first night until the morning in hopes to talk to the on property manager in the morning. In the morning the lady came up and checked and noticed the separating door was unlocked. Nowhere in the instructions mentioned being able to open the extra door. That would have been nice to know to get what we paid for the first night.

Overall the unit was ok, but it does need a bit of updating as runs are getting rough around the edges with use. The kitchen wares probably needs some love.


There are is super convenient to the state park and beach, so that’s a huge bonus.

Great suits with full kitchen for a family. Older buildings and each unit is different so if you want to know exactly what your unit looks like (how dated and/or updated) it’s important to compare with actual site of Pacific Plaza to see each unit. Stayed her post turkey day to hit dunes and cost is fair for what you get to house a family of 4. Limited dish wear. Only salt/pepper/olive oil. Bring extra blankets!

The condo we rented was spacious however the heater wasn’t working, and it got chilly in the am. Not adequate blankets on the bed, just sheets and one thin coverlet.
The kitchen was not well equipped. There was only one serrated cutting knife, no bowls for mixing, no wine glasses, no cookie sheet or casserole dishes for baking or cooking with. So plan on either take out or eating out. Cooking in the condo was a challenge!! Plus the coffee pot was a joke! It brewed very weak coffee one cup at a time! I will not be revisiting this property!

No TV and Flooded bathroom

I usually love staying here, but this time was not a good experience. I needed an accessible room due to having hip replacement surgery. Night 1, the TV didn’t work. It was up high and I couldn’t reach it to check hdmi connection or see the numbers on the cable box when I called support (as noted on the laminated paper in the room). I was on the phone over 30 minutes without success. The office staff was super nice and helpful. She had it working when I got back from dinner. Day 3, the shower flooded the bathroom because the water wasn’t draining properly. My daughter took a shower not longer than 10 minutes and water was everywhere. Again, office staff was very apologetic and sent housekeepers to take away the wet bath rugs and provide plastic bags for my wet clothes. The bed was not the most comfortable. I could feel the springs. I used a lot of pillows to try to get comfortable. At least the heater was working and the room was warm at night.

Property was close/walking distance to the beach and in a quiet area. Small parking places, but there were plenty of them. Outside of property was well maintained.
The actual unit (five-eleven) was decent. Full kitchen and large master bedroom with king bed was nice. While the blue towels looked nice, they were old with some bleach stains, and the color was faded, worn, and very rough. Definitely could use new towels. The fully stocked kitchen was nice, however I washed all the silveware before use as some looked dirty, as was the plastic holder. There is no dishwasher, so the handwashed dishes were mostly clean. Pots and pans are well worn, but had a decent selection. There is a muffin pan, but no cookie sheet, so I heated garlic bread and baked cookies in a muffin pan! Kitchen table is small with two chairs; we brought in a chair from the porch for our third person.
Overall the unit was decent, but could use a coat of paint, new linens and pots and pans. These simple things would make the place excellent.

2 day stay

Everything was great! The space, location, and cleanliness were on point. They even accommodated our early check in request which was appreciated as we had a party to attend at 4pm the same time as check in. My only issue was that there wasn’t a door on the main bedroom. There was no privacy between the common space and the bedroom. Wasn’t a major problem for our stay. I’m sure it’s on the fix it list. We will definitely stay again!

It was a great location for being close to Pismo Beach and Oceana, California area. The only disadvantage was we were right on the main road for the entrance to pismo beach and did not realize that it would be that busy with traffic most of the day and into the sunset hours. The staff were very considerate, and took care of our needs, as best they could.

We did not get our check in email until we actually arrived and spoke with the staff. That wasn’t a problem, but I did worry I was missing something. This hotel gives the best bang for your buck. Our room was clean but a little worse for wear. There were gashes in the walls where you could see artwork had been torn off & the bathroom could use a little work. Otherwise wonderful amenities in the room & very friendly staff. Super quick and easy to check in. The feont desk staff was efficient and very nice. A parking pass and code for your room are provided upon arrival. Our room had all the amenities described. Only complaint is wishing or knowing if there was/is a non smoking area. Every time we left or came back to our room we had to walk through cigarette smoke because our neighbors smoked on their patio. Just makes it a little bit difficult when you have kids with asthma. Other than that our stay was comfortable and pleasant. Would stay again.

The room was not what I had reserved. The shower head came off the first night I arrived and hit me while I’m the shower. The window shades do not have a draw string to open and close so anybody walking on the street could see inside to the bathroom area. The room had a mildew smell to it also. Property management were diligent in fixing the shower head but advertising for the overall property is terrible as you may not get what you paid for. We will not be staying here again.

Inform customers of maintenance!!

They had the water heater fixed early in the morning! Wish i was informed since i have a 3month and 16month kids. They woke up crying from the banging and drilling!! And we had rude neighbors ontop of us. Stomping down for us to be quiet at 9 oclock when we have little children!!

The condo felt like a home. Comfortable, clean. Staff (Susan and other female) were very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Everyone respectful and courteous including house guests. Walking distance from the beach. Good midpoint to visit north and south neighboring cities and towns.
I have already highly recommended Pacific Plaza Resort to family and friends.

Enjoyed the close proximity to the beach. It’s right on the road that has access to the beach and across from a campground, so I imagine it’d be busy during peak season. We loved having our own porch too! Kitchen was a nice bonus too. If WiFi is important, ask which buildings have the best signal.

We love that the hotel/condo was walking distance to the beach and the hotel has a full kitchen for to cook our own food. This is a BIG plus for us because my husband has a health diet restrictions so it helps that there is a full kitchen for me to cook. This way we get to enjoy our stay and be near the beach. Will definitely come back.

Property/room was exactly as advertised. Quite area, shower was to die for (plenty of hot water, large entrance, bench seating). Bathroom was very large and well arranged. Bed was firmer than i would have liked, however i slept just fine. Only two defects that i found was the right side wooden blinds were broken and the fish shaped cabinet in Bathroom was coming loose from the wall. Room 101

Comfortable quite unit. Rain and flooding during our stay but we were just far enough away not to be affected. Easy 4 minute walk to the beach to see the large waves. Also, enjoyed that it was less that a 3 mile walk to Pismo on the sand. Will stay here again.

Terrible communication

I was going to check in after 9:30 pm so I started calling about 1pm to get my room information nobody answers , I call about every hour and a male finally answered about 4pm , I tell him I’m checking in after you close the front office and would like my room information . He said someone will call me in about 1 hour with that because he couldn’t give it to me.
By now it’s 8pm. I pull over and check my phone for an email and regular phone messages and there is nothing from them !
All day and all night the office message said “they are out or helping other guests “
By now it’s 10pm and have arrived but I have no room code or room # and office is closed!
I go through my emails and called a number I found and thankfully someone answered and finally got my family in our unit .
The room and stay was great ! The bed very comfortable and unit very cozy . This resort is so cute and cozy.
Oceano is a beautiful place and everyone is very friendly.
Just wish someone would have done what they said or given me my information during the day when I called,The rooms are already assigned .
Instead they made me stress for hours.
Please fix this terrible communication issue so that other guests will not go through what my family and I did .

The room I rented was a bit run down. Also the security lever that goes over the door was unusable as the tiny screws used to attach it were stripped and too small and provided no additional security.

When I finished getting checked in, I went to 1963 Thunderbird to move to my room, the battery was suddenly dead. The Property Manager ( Forgot his name ) Closed the office and drove me to Autozone to get tools. Incredibly kind and helpful.You rarely see this kind of human kindness in this day and age. I can't thank him enough because I just bought the Classic and was preparing to drive 2500 miles and this was not a good start. I highly recomment Pacific Plaza for cleanliness, hospitality and being that close to the Pacific Ocean was great. Sincerely, Ralph E. Merritt

The room we stayed in was newly renovated, well appointed and roomy. Full kitchen, dining area and living area. Bedroom area and storage great. Bathroom area a bit small. Toilet down low. Show fine. So areas for improvement. Outside Security Light burned out, two outside chai area dirty, broken ice tray((leaked), bathroom rug was very dirty, bottom king size mattress sheet needs to be fitted, Great value for the area. Relatively close to many attractions and day trips to Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Paso Robles and many more. Oceano’s wonderful beach area, the Great American Melodrama and more. BTW, the desk clerks Hadley and Heather are a delight. I forgot the others name but she was great as well. Of note: I dropped my credit card in the hotel parking lot. While having breakfast at the Rick and Rolla, Yum, the front desk called to tell me someone found it and turned it in. I’d rate the Pacific Plaza 8.5 out of 10.
