I was only really here to sleep. Was in town for a job that was all day for both days so it was late to the room and early to leave but the beds were nice. The bathroom/shower great. Saw they had a nice little workout room and small pool that was OPEN. The restaurant and bar looked nice.

The fire alarm was chirping for two days straight and they said they couldn’t take care of it until the maintenance man came in on Monday. We had two rooms and one of the showers didn’t work. There were stains on the carpets, mold in the bathroom, and the closet door was missing in one of the rooms.

When the weather is extremely cold, I would suggest warming up the customer’s room before they use it, and most people when they travel they need an iron for their clothes, I would suggest you guys start putting this in the rooms, on the websites it says that you guys have a bar and a lounge but you guys don’t have it it’s still being built, on the website the gym looks extremely big but it’s very small with like 6 gym equipments, other than that great customer service and great room service, the rooms are pretty clean. I would definitely stay here again.

People at front desk are nice. Pool nice. Hallway carpets could use an updating there old and stained. Clean room, 24/hr weight room. No restraunt or bar like it says. And I didn’t like how you gotta pay $9.99 a person for breakfast that’s not really worth it. I also called ahead before booking and they told me there wasn’t a deposit at check in then I got there and they charged my card $50 and now I gotta wait two weeks to get my $50 back. So some good and bad things. Personally don’t think it’s worth the price.

We called attempting to set up a one night stay and the best they could do was $175 a night saying they were expecting a full house. We refused and got online and got the same room for $125. The hotel was nowhere near capacity.
The room didn’t warm up properly; towels were warn out; blinds had numerous holes. And little things like hand sanitizers in main lobby were empty.
Very ‘meh’ stay - unimpressed.

There was no room service after the first night, had to go, get my own towels, had to go get bathroom amenities. The counter staff was on personal phone calls when I went down to get towels. Wife called down to have bathroom amenities brought up, and counterperson said they were without help, so she went downstairs to get it herself, and there was nobody at the front desk. Bathtub was rusted, and the place looked dirty. No coffee at all midmorning near the front desk. Just a very poor experience.

On Christmas I got hit in my shoulder by the elevator and I spoke with a young lady who said the manager told her to call up to my room and get an incident report. She told me the manager would not be there to after I leave, when I got ready to check out I asked her for the information and she said that she didn’t do it. The manager was sitting at the front desk by then asked me what happened and said he would email me the information today and never did and also said will give my information to the owners to call me. Terrible service there they offered me 25 dollar credit off my room

The window sheers were frayed and torn. The carpet was stained and the walls bybthe elevator were disgusting. I came in from a long day and helped myself to a complimentary cup of coffee staged in the hallway, only to pour a cup of cold stake coffee. There is no cook to order breakfast. Breakfast was no more than continental with the most rude attendant I have ever encountered. His attitude was abhorrent. This stay was subpar for an IHG hotel. My recommendation is to stay away. We checked out early with the promise of a refund for our last day. Based on this stay, I will stick with Hilton hotels.

Bed bugs in the room, i got bites all over me and then management asked us to leave instead of giving us a new room becasue of the bugs. We certainly didnt bring the bugs in. Theres multiple reviews recently stating bed bugs in rooms so the place obviously has an issue.

I had to find someone for the front desk to check us in, so that was a little annoying. I’ve always stayed at HIE and loved the comfort, cleanliness and sheets/pillows. This one seemed to be a little less than what I am used to - and I stayed at this specific one 2 years ago. Sheets weren’t as nice and soft. The carpets in the hallways were very dirty with stains. Over easy, was perfect for just a little overnight stopover. But it also advertises a bar which hasn’t been open in the last two years (that I know). I don’t even know if there is a breakfast that advertises made to order also.

This was my second stay at this location. The room was clean and comfortable, as expected. This time, I opted for the continental breakfast. Never again. Horrible food, if that's what you want to call it. Bagged and odd tasting eggs, thin and poorly cooked bacon, greasy and bad tasting sausage, but the biggest offender was the \"French toast sticks\". That's what I thought they were at least. Dry, stiff, hard but not crunchy, difficult to chew and overall displeasing to the palate.

If you stay here, save your money and get breakfast from a local establishment. The food here isn't worth the $16.

We had an accessible room. The carpet was disgusting near the bed; like someone had an accident.
The shower had no way for an individual to use the shower without help. Even the shower head kept falling off the holder.

Coffee and cups were not replenished
I would have paid more to stay somewhere pleasant.

The breakfast was not good.

The coffee bar in the lobby was not available at all times. And although the website said there was a bar...they had no license so it wasn't functional.

Room was old and tired.

not one of our nices hotels we have stayed in, the toilet was broken, kept having to take the top part of flush it, couldnt really shower to wash my hair, barely any water coming out of the shower head,it either needed cleaned or replaced. we said something to the gentleman when we checked out but dought it got fixed. The airconditioner made loud noices when it was running. . The tv in the room is like a 25 inch tv, very small, so like i said cheap hotel so you get what you paid for

Opening the sliding doors, a horrible wet smell over came you. He quickly went away and she walked into the main entry. The clerk at the desk was playing a video game on his phone and put us on hold.

The towels in the bathroom were old actually seem kind of dirty and well used. I called the front desk and he told me if you want more towels come and get them. I can’t leave in the morning. They wanted to charge me for the breakfast that I paid for The breakfast was horrible eggs recall there was no toast.

I arrived at 430 pm. Room wasn’t ready. Had ADA room. Desk man offered option of me using another room to change until ADA room was ready. Tim made sure 4 maids were sent to complete the cleanup. 15 mins I was in room. Desk man offered me soda and chair during my wait. Very kind.

Sometimes we all have bad days!

Checked in at 3, left for about an hour. Returned, went to my room, it was not cleaned. The bed was not made. Went to front desk, was changed to another room. Then had issues with the TV, which when I tried to call from the hotel to the front desk, my phone was not working. I never have any issues at this hotel, I've stayed many times. This was a first, just a little disappointed. However, front desk has excellent customer service!

Unfortunately, the hotel is very dirty. The door to our room was broken. The toilet was broken. The shower was barely working. It was quite terrible. The location is convenient for a commute on I-88. Our stay was 6 hours and we didn’t say anything about the issues since we were there to sleep a couple of hours and leave.

We understand that smoking is legal in Illinois, but people entering the elevator just after smoking a joint was not pleasant. Our stay this past weekend

My room was fine, with some rattyness (frayed blockout curtains, bad caulk in the bathroom, dingy towels). The worst thing when I arrived was that the lobby women's bathroom had fresh vomit in the sink. I let the front desk know about it, but it hadn't been taken care of the next morning.

There was also some mix-up with the room my brother and dad were assigned. They were supposed to have a room with two beds, but when they checked in, the room had a single king bed, which was awkward, but workable.

At some point that first night, someone used a key card to enter their room.

We think that it was a couple who booked a single king bed room. It sounds like my brother and dad should have been provided a room with two beds, and the couple who had the key card to access my dad/brother's room should have been assigned their king bed room.

I'm not sure what the mix-up was in terms of booking and front desk process, which was altogether unsettling.

That said, the staff at the front desk seem to be dealing with staffing issues, and they were so helpful. We were there for a family funeral, and the staff made the dining area available to us on Saturday evening, which was wonderful.

Misrepresentation and total disappointment

When I booked the hotel I booked a king bed in a room with a bathtub. At check in I was told there was a bathtub in our room. There was not. When I called the front desk, they said only the rooms with 2 queen beds had a tub. They did nothing to accommodate us, offer any solution or anything. That is poor customer service not to mention misrepresentation by my reservation on Hotels.com
