Lovely beach hotel that is quiet. It is pretty easy to get to central Hong Kong if you can manage ferry schedules. Swam every day, loved the lack of cars on the island. I wish breakfast started before 9 but may as well exercise early like the locals anyway. Highly recommended.

Nice location, very hard bed

The rooms have a nice view of the beach and water. The rooms we’re clean but extremely small. The walls are thin/not sound proofed so you hear everyone in the stairwell and in adjoining rooms. The biggest thing was the bed, it was so firm you would think it was the sidewalk. If you do go, arrange a porter to get your bags to the hotel. It’s a long walk from the ferry and there are no cars to take you there.

Nice little getaway on Lamma Island

Very nice, helpful staff. A good option for a 1 or 2 night getaway. Make sure to book a room with a balcony so you can listen to the waves lapping on to the beach each night. Also, saw a wild pig which was pretty cool.

Wonderfull Stay at Concerto Inn, Lamma Island

My husband loves Island life and hiking and we periodically visited different outlying islands. Last Friday, we visited Lamma Island and spent a night at Concerto Inn at Hung Shing Yeh Beach. We had a warm greeting by a young lady at the concierge and she served us a welcome drink. The check-in process was fast and efficient. Her other colleague explained clearly the discounted charges for breakfast and happy hour drinks. The room is small (we knew when we booked it) but sufficient for a couple for a short stay and is clean. Although it is an \"Inn\" not a \"hotel\", all basic necessities (towel, indoor & outdoor slippers, shampoo, conditioner, bath lotion, sanitary, tea bags, coffee, 2 bottles of complimentary drinking water, etc.), dehumidifier, mosquito killers, Wi-Fi are all provided. The check-out process was also very fast and efficient. Economical price for one night stay through Friday to Saturday.

The host that checked us in was dishonest, not giving us the room that we booked, probably because it had already been lent out. Instead of just telling us that, he instead presented me with a choice between the room we booked and what sounded like a slight upgrade. I agreed to take the \"upgrade\" only to find that it was in the \"pet friendly\" Bellagio building and I am extremely allergic to all animals. When I went back to the host, he blamed me for having made the choice, then said that room had \"never in its history, ever had an animal inside\". Then he let me see the alternative, a tiny room with a bed that my less than 6-ft-tall husband's feet hung off of. That was NOT the \"Deluxe Double\" that we had booked, but the \"Executive\"; but he swore it was. So, I went with the \"pet friendly\" room that he swore had never had a pet inside. WRONG CHOICE: All night, my eyes were swollen and my sinuses clogged. What really pissed me off was his sneaky dishonesty. I didn't want to believe he was lying to my face, but it turns out that is what he did.
Upon returning home, I checked my booking, and I confirmed that not only did he lie to me, but they really have misleading photos and completely wrong photos online. (Under Deluxe Double, you see what looks like a King Size bed, actually two twins pushed together)
The hostess who brought us drinks and who we saw the next morning was super nice, the only reason why I didn't give them the lowest rating possible.

Location and friendly staff trump a small room.

The best part of Concerto Inn is the location. It is an amazing place at the beach and all of Lamma Island to hike. It gets you out of the city. The second best is the friendly staff. However, be warned, the rooms are small, the bed is hard. The horizontal surfaces need dusted and the shower curtain needs cleaned more often to kill the mold. But we keep coming back because of the people and the location, overlooking the dust and mold.

...you need to manage your expectations upfront your booking.
Yes, the location is amazing, if not to say unique for Hong Kong. Lamma is a relaxed place with nice little shoos and a couple of laid-back restaurants. The beach is right at your door step at this hotel, which is a great PLUS.

Staying at Concerto inn, on Lamma Island, is a perfect Staycation for people living in Hkong, or tourists that want to see an other HKong. It is at the beach, very nice staff, basic rooms, but completely in line with expectations. They have a separate nr of rooms where dogs are allowed. The walk from ferry is a short 1 KM, and just being at the beach, is simply wonderful.

Front Desk staff were awesome. There was a problem with the hot water in our room so they moved us to a bigger room. The unit was comfortable but could stand to be a bit cleaner. The bed was very hard though even for my wife who prefers a hard bed. Overall it was a good experience and we would book again.

The Receptionist Max was very professional, helpful and friendly. All other staff were efficient too.
Executive room rather small and basic but has the necessary amenities including electric mosquito repellant. Has a balcony with table and chairs. Overlooking the sea.
Nice beach in front of hotel but was closed due to covid measures.
20mins walk to hotel. Best to carry a trolley bag.

Disappointing birthday stay

I scheduled a garden access/pet friendly room for my birthday. It was supposedly cute and themed like in the pic. We were taking our two dogs along and paying extra for them. Two days before, I was called and told that they were overbooked and I couldn't have that room (that I had already paid for, not just reserved) but would instead get a 'balcony' room and free breakfast to compensate. OK, not what I wanted, more work to go outside with dogs, but OK.

When we show up, they supposedly 'upgrade' us to a room with a weird enclosed balcony area and a second bedroom. We were only a couple, what would we do with another bedroom? It wasn't cute - moldy, dingy, odd art on the walls, the bathroom door was a weird folding divider broken off the hinges (that you had to wrestle with every time) and the shower head squirted water everywhere but straight ahead. We had to get up early and dress fully when the dogs needed to go out. There was NO considerate accommodation made for the dogs like a mat or water bowl (they did give a pee pee pad), and they pride themselves on being a pet-friendly hotel. And the best part is that when we went for our complimentary breakfast, nope, sorry, no longer offered as we got the 'upgrade'. Wow. Did not leave a good impression all around.

We did not manage to stay in this hotel due to the protest in Hong Kong. Although our reservation was non-refundable, but due to the situation in Hong Kong which has been ongoing for 2months, and got worst before our trip and due to the travel advisories, we were forced to cancel our trip. However, the hotel was not passionate about the situation and refused a refund.

Experienced both pleasant and the worst!

I initially booked executive room on 19th APR, and quite amazed with location and my stay there. I decided to extend my stay by a night; due to unavailability of same room, the offered me 'Themed Room' (number 1031), which is in their most expensive category, and I experienced the worst of my life.
20th APR mid night, my wife got up when she felt something biting her; when she switched on light, we found 'bed bugs' on our hand, legs, my daughter face, pillow, quilt and literally everywhere. When I dialed their emergency number, luckily one of their staff arranged us bed on ground floor where we could sleep for rest of few hours.
It will take another few days to recover from skin rashes - I still regret my decision of extending stay there.

Wonderful Experience

This is an amazing little hotel, located right on the beach in Lamma.
Please note though, there are no cars on the island & after getting off the ferry you need to walk 20 minutes with your luggage. It's not a difficult walk ( & all along a well defined concrete path) but this will not be to everyone's liking. We didn't mind at all.
On arrival we were in a second floor room. No lifts & quite steep narrow stairs ( once again this didn't bother us at all.........and we are in our fifties.....but some people could find this an issue)
A lovely breakfast ( served right on the beach) was included in our stay. Eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, croissant, juice, coffee & watermelon. It was all fresh, tasty & lovely presented.
The staff were a delight, friendly yet professional. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
We couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough & will definitely retwhen we are next in Hong Kong.
Just remember you are on an island & your not staying at the Ritz Carlton, so some things will be a bit difficult but the staff, the location etc more than make up for that.

Quaint, quirky boarding in a perfect location

The location is quite superb - right on the beach, such that beaching with no ‘stuff’ apart from the provided beach towels and mats is a real plus.
The rooms are v clean and although a tad small perfectly adequate, and with decent amenities (safe, hairdryer, fridge, kettle, etc). But I guess I’ve given an average mark for ‘Condtion’ as it’s all a little rundown/amateurish elsewhere.
The staff are brilliant and friendly but again i can only give an average mark as it’s all a bit quaint.... for example being told there was no food availble on the first night since there was no chef (there was), breakfast only served 9-10 (prescriptive choices and v average quality food and coffee) evening food until just 730, very limited evening menu (akin convenience food) esp considering the wonderful fish elsewhere on the Island, the myriad of notices telling you want you can and can’t do and the fines you’ll encounter if you transgress (for example a ‘stained towel’!) .....plus you slightly feel as though you need to make things happen rather than they happen automatically.
However, you can’t get away from the near perfect location and the lovely and willing staff.
These things counterbalance the inadequacies, Fawlty Towers-ish feel, and arguably 2.5 not 3* (correction, expensive 3*) quality, hence I’m very happy to give a postive review overall. But be warned if you’re expecting usual HK standards!

A very nice hotel

A small hotel that is immediate next to the beach. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Though the room is a bit small but good for visiting different places on the island rather than whole day stay in the hotel. Be prepare to have enough a full 30-minute walk from the ferry to the hotel. A bit painful if under hot days. Suggest the hotel to offer pick up service from the ferry, even at a charge.

Off the beaten path...

Lamma island is off the beaten path - WAY OFF the beaten path. But that is exactly what we were looking for.
We arrived on the ferry and hiked for 25/30 minutes to get to the hotel. There are sign posts, so even though it was dark, there was no danger of getting lost. We found the Concierto Inn with no problem, and were checked in immediately. The kitchen had already closed for the night, so we were told we could not get food. The area near the ferry has later hours, but the smaller villages roll up the sidewalks at sunset.
We were escorted to our room and shown where everything was. The staff was friendly, welcoming and spoke beautiful English. (I live in Beijing where that is often not the case.) The room was very small, but clean and comfortable. It had a hide-away bed for my 10-year-old. My son and I went to play on the beach. When we got back, we found out that Bill had take pity on my cranky husband and made us food. Everything that Bill made for use during out stay was outstanding!
The hotel overlooks the beach, which has a protected swimming area. The water is murky, but calm and safe. There are rocks and tide pools to explore.
We hiked all over the island while we were there. The views from the hike are beautiful. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water! Again, there is one road, so it is impossible to get lost. The path takes you to some of the other villages.There are no cars on the island so the only way to get around is to or bike.

Room is much smaller than expected. I think some resort houses near the pier are of better conditions and of similar price but more spacious than this one even though a 20 min walk from the beach.
Right at the beach doesn't really give it an advantage as I believe you ll make this walk if you want to dip into the sea. You have to come out and eat anyway.

Take the bad with the good

This is my second stay at Concerto Inn and I have booked a return visit for later this year...that said, let me give you an honest assessment.
Location is great- right on the beach. Breakfast menu is delicious (included if you purchase the room that way). Staff is very friendly and helpful, their English is good. Restaurant menu for snacks or other meals is good but a bit pricey. Now for the concerns- wifi is extremely slow. The hotel and grounds are very tired- exterior paint is peeling, rooms also need a fresh coat of paint, new balcony furniture, and the bathrooms need updated- grout is molded, some cracked tiles, shower shelf was falling down. For some, these items would make for an unpleasant stay, but given its benefits, I will be back again. Being centrally located on the island for hiking to the other villages, and for being on the only beach-it's worth the stay.

The location of the hotel is quite far away from the pier. I walked for 30 minutes to there. Luckily, I can get there before the reception closed as it only ran unill 10pm. The room is quite smaller than what I expected. However, the cleanliness and decoration of the room is quite good. It nears the beach which made me feel relaxing. I enjoy it in overall.

Quick 2 night stay on a Mon & Tue night. Very peaceful with excellent meals and service. 20-25 minute walk from the ferry. Away from the downtown area with nice beach at your doorstep. Little chilly for getting in the water, but beautiful view from the hotel and outdoor restaurant. Would expect more guests during the warmer months, so remember the number of rooms are limited. The rooms are small but your not going to stay in the room all the time during your stay anyway. We recommend this hotel and will be returning in the future.

Concerto is strategically located on Lamma Island. It is about 30 mins away from Yung Shue Wan Ferry Pier, 25 mins away from Lamma Winds and 1.5 hours away from Sok Kwu Wan Ferry Pier (based on strolling mode). Service was pretty good and staff were very friendly especially Fanny and T.T. Do have a chat with them. :) As the rooms at Concerto faces the Hung Shing Yeh Beach, each morning you will wake up with a rejuvenated mind.

Peaceful getaway for weekdays

The room and bathroom are quite small but its clean. The staff was very sincere. Its a peaceful getaway if you stay during the weekdays - bit for weekends.. Too crowned.

However its slightly expensive for the size of the room.

Lovely spot close to beach

Nice place to relax by the beach after being in the busy city. Hotel was fine for my needs. Unfortunately lots of rubbish in the sea when I was there which made swimming unappealing but walked over to Lo So Shing which was very nice. Would stay at this place again.

A pleasant stay in Concerto Inn

Stayed in Concerto Inn Lamma Island for two nights and I had a very pleasant stay here.
The inn is located at seaside, you can enjoy the sea view. It's a very comfortable, clean, and friendly hotel.
A short walk to the main street (Rong Shu Wan Street) is about 15 mins is good for relax and exercise.
The room is well equipped, the bed was comfortable and hot shower is powerful.
Free WIFI in room and Free Breakfast is very good! ;-)

Nice Beach- Get Upgraded Room

It was quite a walk to the hotel from the ferry pier, about 30 minutes. It would be great if there was a shuttle bus that took you from the pier. It's not a bad walk, but if you have suitcases, it's atrocious. It would also help to have more signs directing you to the hotel. Upon our arrival (10pm) the gentleman that checked us in was very nice and accommodating. Even though the bar was closed, he still sold us a mixed drink and a bottle of champagne. We got to our room and it was TINY and CRAMPED! The bathroom was so small I hit my head a few times on shelves and in the shower. I'm not sure what the other rooms look like, but I would recommend getting a higher-end room. I paid $180 USD and it was NOT WORTH IT! The next morning, we went to the beach. The girl at the front desk was EXTREMELY RUDE and unhelpful. Not a good start to our day. There is a school on the beach as well, so it was crowded with kids making a lot of noise and playing football so it was hard to lay in peace without a ball flying at your head. Overall, the only way I would stay at this hotel again is if we had an upgraded room, which I'm not sure the cost would be worth. It was supposed to be a romantic stay for my birthday but it failed.

room too noisy

location is great, just next to the beach. but the room too noisy, and the bed too short, really cannot sleep well. at this price (over hkd 1000), other hotels in lantau island, or discovery bay are much better choices.

Lamma island 3 * resort

It is an honest three star hotel, nice balcony and some sea view (hidden by trees). The beach in front is far from being \"one of the finest beaches of Lamma\" as they claim since it is in front of the power station and the sea in rather dirty. But you are not far from other beaches that are more interesting. Anyway, sea is not the strong point of Hong Kong.
You have trails to go around the island, it's nice but beware of snakes - some of them are dangerous. The island has no cars, so from the ferry you have to walk to the hotel for a good 15 min. In the evening around the hotel is pretty dead but the village is reachable with a 10 min walk, you have a few restaurants and some pubs over there.

Nice small beach side inn

I would say this is more of a b&b/ inn than a hotel. It is located right next to the beach with a fabulous view. The room we stayed in was a abit small but tidy and cozy. Breakfast included was okay and the restaurant was nice and a good place to chill out. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a DVD player in the room and lots of DVDs available for choose. Nice getaway!

To conclude I would not recommend it to my friends

Very bad experience. The service was terrible, really terrible. The two staff there just did not care about their customers at all. The room was small but actually quite comfortable. The bathroom stink smell of sewage.

Nice!

Not bad considering the price is less than HKD$700 (incl Breakfast) while there is not many beach front hotels in HK / Lamma to choose from. (Holiday rentals yes, but not hotels). Right at the beach and has a nice garden restaurant / cafe to chill and have a drink. Pillows and bed a little smelly. Room is small, shower area small too. I bumped my head several times during shower on the corner shelf. Rain shower head is a great idea but since the shower area is too small, it is not so enjoyable. You can tell they do try their best to provide all the things that their guests may need to use during the stay despite of the small size of the room (e.g. beach slippers, even a box of condoms in the mini-bar drawer for sale!! : )

Quaint, quiet rural getaway

This is a small hotel along the hiking trail on Lamma Island. It was about a 15 minute walk from the ferry, along sidewalks/paved paths. You could wheel a small suitcase, but it'd be a long way to wheel a suitcase. Backpacks were fine though. Hotel greeted us and made it easy to check in. Not fancy, but it had all the basics. It's basically in a jungle area on a beach, and it fits with that profile. Like other reviewers said, the bed was hard. But the A/C worked and the shower was great and we had no complaints. The free breakfast was easy to get, but was pretty awful. We opted for the Western breakfast though. Maybe the Chinese breakfast is the better bet. Was glad we hiked back into the little town for dinner the night before, because that food was AMAZING (best I had the whole trip). Overall, quiet, easy country getaway, right on the beach. Wouldn't want to stay there a long time, but was fine for an overnight trip out of the city. Ended up hiking to the other ferry port in the morning, which made for a nice complete, quick trip of Lamma Island.

Great Beach location just 45 min from the city

Great location on Lamma Island. Around30 mins walk from the ferry port. Great Breakfast Rooms small but clean and comfortable. Would certainly recommend as long as you do not mind a nice walk to and from the Ferry terminal. Great bars and restaurants.

Small rooms, but great location and friendly staff

Really enjoyed our stay here. Great location right on the beach, friendly & helpful staff. Clean, tidy rooms with everything you need. Food was average (but it was very quiet and off-season, so may not have been at its best). Would recommend for anyone looking to spend a few days on Lamma!

Quiet Beachside Getaway

Very neat beachside hotel. A great place to stay if you want a change of pace from the busy city of Hong Kong. Service was very good and friendly, and they are thoughtful enough to provide beach sandals for you to go for a walk on the beach. The room was slightly on the small side, but was neatly decorated and clean (although the bathroom is too narrow). Every room has a beach-facing balcony. Has a nice-looking outdoor dining area (pretty enough to hold an outdoor wedding in my opinion). Breakfast was included and taste OK, but not sure about dinner food since we didn't have dinner there. About 15-20 minutes walk from the ferry pier and the shops/restaurants, not a bad tradeoff for the peace and quiet setting of the hotel.

Concerto Inn, Lamma Island

Great location right on the beach, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was a little small, but clean and fit our needs of a relaxing spot away from the city bustle. Restaurant was decent, and a 20 minute walk from other eateries, shops, and pier in Yung Shue Wan on the Family Walk trail. A great 40 minute hike in the other direction on the trail will get you to Sok Kwu Wan and the great Rainbow Seafood restaurant. Hung Shing Ye beach was great as well, with shade trees on the edge when you want to get out of the sun.

A little bit of a walk- but worth it.

The walk from the pier to the hotel takes about half an hour. This would not be fun if you have large pieces of luggage-- up and down some hills. It would be amazing if the hotel offered some sort of transport service. Once you get to the hotel, the beach is right there-- if you're looking for a super luxurious get-away, this may not be for you. Those of you that are simply looking for a chilled-out weekend get-away or vacation, this is the perfect spot! You can hear and see the ocean from your room!

Used to be nice, now has gone very far downhill

Simply put, lovely beach in Lamma, a nice get away. Very far from the Ferry. If you do not want to carry your bags back to the ferry, a 2 kilometer trek, then they charge you an outrageous amount of 200 hkd, three times the going rate at least for the service. Do not eat at the restaurant other than breakfast as you will be very disappointed with the food. I have stayed there previously and the restaurant used to be better, now just eat a sandwich from anywhere else. Again I have stayed here in the past and now was just disappointed.

The hotel is nice and cozy. However, it was a bit difficult to find the hotel. We arrived at Lammar Island in the evening. It took us about over 30 minutes to find it as there are no guideboards. We booked a double bed room. It's a bit too small for two adults. If you are looking for a quiet place, don't go on Saturdays and Sundays. Food is quite expensive in Concerto. Sea food is not very fresh.

Take a break from Hong Kong

The Concerto Inn provided a pleasant base for a brief stay on Lamma Island. It is right on the beach, on the main walking trail across the island. The staff ensure a friendly atmosphere and nice food - be sure to try their French apple tart.
