Room after upgrade was spacious. However, bottle water is $12 each. Only got a restaurant which has no price listed. Looks expensive. Location is not very convenient. Staff were not very friendly. Check-out has to wait till they finished inspection. Didn’t advise about shuttle service. Only found out by oneself when stepping out the premise after check out & saw the line up, then checked with those guests. Would not come back again.

We were staying only one night which is unfortunate because they upgraded us to a 1 bedroom suite on the 18th floor for no charge (elevators are a bit slow). The room was well appointed though a bit dated in terms of bathroom facilities - everything was in working order just a bit past its prime. Very spacious room and nice view of the botanical zoo. We checked in late and unfortunately missed the cut off time (10:30?) for on-site breakfast and had to go nextdoor for a pricier meal

Stayed here just for 2 night. They upgraded us to suite which was nice. The bed was just a queen and was super hard. The hotel is dated, but clean. For a short stay this place is fine, there's a grocery store around the corner. There was no fridge though, for a suite we thought that was weird.

Good sized room (1504) for HK. Quiet, spotless and cleaned daily. Bath and shower. Firm bed like most in HK but a mattress topper was quickly provided. Helpful and courteous staff. Very fast Housekeeping response for iron and board plus minor sink plug issue. Fridge, safe, kettle, toiletries. Good lifts. Well served by taxis, good 12a bus service for downtown and supermarket nearby. Free Zoological & Botanical garden a few mins walk away.

On my last trip though there was some renovation work going on and the drilling noise made the stay a bit unpleasant. They could have avoided allocating those rooms close to the renovation.

I love this hotel. It’s very clean and classy. Its current restaurant is being renovated but the restaurant next store (Cafe 8) has a beautiful skyline view of Hong Kong with a good menu variety and 2 for 1 happy hour. However, it’s not near any walkable shops or dining. Still, cab ride one way range from $4 to $6 to the downtown area and there’s a taxi every few minutes available all over the city. From the airport, take AirPort Express Train and get off at Hong Kong Central from there there’s an easy taxi service to the hotel. Train is $12 and taxi price depends on how many suitcases. Likely under $10 to the hotel. Taxi from the airport is very expensive ($50 -$70) Now I don’t know if the cab charges per person… Garden View is still a wonderful option. And you can walk to the downtown area. It’s easy because it’s down hill but I strongly suggest take a taxi ride back up. Also, the Peak Tram attraction (a must do in HK) is 10-12 minutes walk from the hotel.

Having found the male receptionist rather terse upon check-in, my mood was further clouded when I got to the room and the keycard wouldn't let me in. Tired, hungry and wet (having been caught in rain) I had to go back to reception with my bags to get a new key. A female receptionist at least had the decency to apologise and give me a key that did work! On another matter, surprised to see bottled water in the room charged at HKD12 per bottle. No complimentary water is, in my experience, unusual.

Room was in front of the elevator so I could hear people coming and going but it wasn't bad. Great view over Hong Kong.

I walked up from Central subway station. The hotel is up on a steep hill and it took me about 30 minutes as I made a few wrong turns and had to take water breaks. I recommend taking a taxi to the hotel unless you're a seasoned hiker.

Walking down to the bar area of Lan Kwai Fong took about 15 minutes.

Good value for money. I can recommend Garview View Hotel.

Our stay at The Garden View was lovely. It was our second stay here. We initially booked another hotel but after one night we transferred over to the Garden View. The staff were amazing, very welcoming and even gave us our room at 9:30am instead of 2pm due to our previous night in HK. Our only issue was that the sink in the bathroom leaked onto the floor when turning the tap on and whenever a toilet was flushed we heard it in our bathroom so maybe a blockage somewhere and the bed was as hard as a rock. Otherwise our stay here was great and would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Hong Kong

Quiet location, but...

The hotel is peaceful and located away from the city. However, if you’re not fond of walking up and down steep hills, this may not be the place for you. It is also far from public transportation, so we had to walk 20-25 minutes to find breakfast each morning. In the evening, we took a taxi back. The room service was disappointing. On most days, the room was not cleaned, and the bed was not made. One day, someone took the dirty towels but didn’t replace them with clean ones. When we asked about this, the front desk staff claimed the towels had been replenished, which wasn’t true. On a positive note, the lady at the front desk was friendly, polite, and patient, providing helpful restaurant recommendations. The room was clean and everything worked. Shower was a little tepid but functional. Staff friendly. Room advertised as sleeping 3 but really sleeps two unless you all sleep in the one bed. Recommend adding a third bed in a pull out couch to make the room description accurate.

Perfect stay

Firstly I want to say thank you to everyone from Front Desk, Concierge and Housekeeping. They’re superb, professional, friendly and extremely helpful particularly when I had extended my stay. They always here try to help if possible.

Everything was great. There’s a supermarket next door. Easy to get around everywhere. Just
the bathroom was a bit outdated. Otherwise, I’d say it’s a perfect stay.

Other than the daily change of towels & garbage, my husband & I enjoyed walking through the Botanical Garden on our way to the Central MTR station every day. Even though the hotel is a bit out of the way to the MTR station, we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel before check-in time once we arrived from the airport and also after our check-out time to go to the airport. A must to go swimming in the pool on a hot & humid day. The staff were friendly and helpful.

It was my first time staying here and the staff was friendly and helpful. I was able to go shopping and it’s about a 20 minute walk to all the shopping centers and major areas. It a 5 min walk to the botanical gardens and it’s a beautiful calm area.
If you don’t like to walk, it can get pretty steep walking up or down so it’s easier to take a cab or Uber.
If you do like to walk, then you’ll definitely get a workout but you can always sit and rest at the botanical garden.

I like the location because it was easy to go anywhere. It was very quiet. Staff was friendly.

The only plus is the neighborhood is quiet and it's a nice night time stroll. The negatives, unfortunately for me, outweigh the positives. Very limited dining in the area. That being said, I don't recommend Cafe Bar on 8 due to the exceptionally terrible service and food. Lastly, there is no direct MTR. You have to take the bus into Central.

Great hotel, great value for money

Really good value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and they offer room service every day. The room has all the essentials you could need (hair dryer, body wash, moisturiser, toothbrush etc). It’s in a fantastic location. We really enjoyed our stay! Our only criticism would be that the mattresses are very firm, which isn’t what we’re used to. However, this wouldn’t stop he staying again in future. I’d definitely recommend for your stay in HK.

Moving around is generally convenient with 12A bus service to nearest MTR (Admiralty) train station, which is about 10min ride. Bus comes every 15 mins. A quiet residential area. Don't expect shops and eateries within walking distance.
