The masterclass and DIY sessions for children were a lovely touch, and even there, the personal attention given to children was quite something.
Besides this, the room and other facilities were great too. It made for the best experience possible, in central Hong Kong.

It is an amazing hotel and staff couldn't be nicer. Unfortunately there is a renovation going on and when we came back in the afternoon it was a sledgehammer going and it was so noisy you couldn't nap or read a book. The staff was very helpful and gave us a new room that was much quieter. They also very kindly let us do a late check out at 2pm the day we were leaving. A beautiful hotel in a great location but might have some noise hick-ups due to renovation at the moment.

We had the best experience at this hotel. The customer service was out of this world. We arrived in Hong Kong at 6am from an overnight flight, we knew the room was not ready but they allowed us to use the facilities to shower and freshen up. There was a slight delay with our room being ready, they more than made up for the inconvenience. Take advantage of The Mandarin Club they offer. Breakfast and Afternoon Tea is amazing. Very friendly and attentive staff.

This lives upto the Mandarin name. I have never been disappointed but always been pleasantly surprised. Stayed an extra night here due to typhoon hitting HK. Despite the typhoon outside the hotel functions as though nothing is out of order. If you want to get stuck in a typhoon, this would be the hotel to get stuck in!! ;)

A special mention to J, Lobby Ambassador. When I was taking work calls in the lobby lounge, he came and offered a bottle of water. He extends this courtesy and charm to every guest. The ability to go beyond scripted professionalism made interactions a lot more genuine.
Everything in the room was tidied and clean, amenities were replenished. Room was on the older side for sure. We got the harbour view on a high floor which was a pretty decent view.
Food quality and variety for buffet breakfast was as expected.
A negative incident occurred while we were having breakfast on Sunday. A manager could be heard in view of all other guests, calling a staff with a disparaging remark. Calling the staff ‘zero brain’ to his supervisor. Also, instead of calling the staff by name, he went ‘Oei! Hey!’. That is rude. This is not a situation of ‘respecting the hierarchy’ or ‘language barrier’. Wherever one works, you learn the locality and assimilate. These actions undermine basic human dignity and consistency of the Mandarin Oriental service ethos. The external customer is important, so is the internal customer.
Leadership, especially in a hospitality establishment is more than just putting on a tailored suit and fancy shoes. Leadership is not a title, it is a burden.

The service - top notch. Coming to the Mandaring and experiencing the perfect attention and service is what one should experience. In appearance it looks older and may not attract younger travellers. Once you understand where the true value is - you long to come back. I hear it is going to re-model. Let's hope they don't ruin the magic. Most of the time it is.

We had a great time at this hotel. The room was really spacious and comfortable. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast is totally amazing and the bar at the top of the hotel is fabulous. We liked it so much we have booked to go back.

The front desk Karl Magdala is very friendly and helpful by greeting us, showing us the room, and giving us an orientation of the room. He also tried his best to answer our questions and even bringing us a written information to our room.

I went in January because i wanted to use the indoor swimming pool. The breakfast was really good and not just buffet, you can order. The breakfast was part of the deal so it was free. The MTR subway station is directly at the back (Central exit F) so that made getting around even more convenient. The staff made themselves known to me and really addressed any issue no matter how minor. This was my first time staying at the Mandarin Oriental (I usually stay at the Grand Hyatt) but I would strongly consider staying here again. My only issue is that the bath water was temperature controlled and I couldnt get it to the level of hot that I like. It is also 10 minutes away (30 to 50HKD) taxi ride to the Central ferry port.

We'd recommend ponying up for a Club room; service is great throughout the hotel, but the Club floor took it to another level & provided a great respite after our days touring Hong Kong. Wow!

Lovely hotel with gorgeous floral arrangements in the Lobby. Good location in Central with easy access to Landmark via footbridge through Prince Building. The service was excellent. Special mention to Karl Maglana who helped me check in / check out. Karl always greeted me by my name whenever he would see me. A tall gentleman named Nicholas (sorry I forgot his last name) was also extra helpful by moving me to the room with the design / layout I preferred. Overall a wonderful stay.
