Easy check-in. Easy $50 cash deposit returned after checking out. Good location to get to Kentucky Kingdom and the Mega Caverns. The bed was fine. The shower worked great. Room was very clean. Air conditioning also worked great.

This was a terrible place to stay! It was. Dirty pool lighting , felt very unsafe super super dirty And smelly poor lighting probably to keep me from seeing little black bedbugs crawling around everywhere. Also i saw literally saw a mouse crawl out of my luggage upon arriving at my home. I am a very clean person and i aam mortified. I bought traps 10 min after arriving as soon as Got home and saw that. I already called pest control to come. Ridiculous I am regretting my choice to stay here.

The only good thing I can say about this motel, is the location was very convenient for my needs to commute to Churchill downs! The room was far from clean, almost every blanket and sheet had cigarette burn holes. The smell was absolutely awful! Staff were not easy to work with & offered no discount for trouble. My room was next door to a prostitute, first nights stay we were woken up by Louisville metro police knocking on her door. I could keep going, I guess you can say you get what you pay for here for sure.

Room was absolutely disgusting. Right upon entering the room had a weird smell. I have stayed plenty of places and thought well I guess I can live with this..... It was late and I was tired but I should have left. I crawled into bed and tried not to question how clean it was. The mattress was bowed in the middle making it an uncomfortable sleep. In the morning, I got up to shower............ I step into the shower and look up and there are dirty wash rags laying across the shower curtain rod. I have never left anywhere so fast.

Work has now brought me to Louisville. I’ve stayed at a few Motels to date and this Red Roof Inn hands down is the best. There isn’t a lot of Food Ootions, a Waffle House directly in front of the Building. Cabke T.V. & Internet were great. The Room had a Coffee Maker, big plus for me. Some Rooms have Microwave & Refrigerator (book early). Clean, quiet, comfortable and the two Gentleman that checked me in were very helpful.

Upon entering, there was a noticeable foul smell. The tables were not clean, and we also found cigarette burn holes in the comforter. Because of that, we ended up going out to buy disinfecting wipes, air freshener, and even a blanket so we felt comfortable enough to sleep.

We honestly turned it into a “make it work” kind of night and still had a good time together, but cleanliness and upkeep definitely need improvement.

Wouldn’t choose this location again.

Fairly clean. Staff will tell you on the phone that they can accommodate you with a “roll in bed”, but when you get there, they can’t. Asked for three clean bath towels for our second night, they said they’d only give us 2 and they were grossly stained. Friday nights are loud outside your door.

Nothing felt safe about this place. Don’t stay with a child of any age. Homeless and people clearly on drugs living in the elevator and all around the parking lot. I missed that there was no refrigerator in the room. Super outdated no working outlets. Unfortunately we only had 6 hours to eat dinner/sleep and get back on the road or we would’ve left. Hair on towel when unfolded, stain on sheet. Hot water and water pressure for the shower we great though. People puking in the parking lot in the early morning as we left with car alarms going off.

Didn't stay. Both rooms we looked at were terrible smelled and were dirty. They also told me they had shuttle service when i called them when i made our reservations weeks ago. We started check in and then backed out when rooms and what they had told me wasn't true. Contacted expedia for a refund and they are suposedly working on it still. Have not seen a resolution yet. I don’t usually complain, but our experience was horrible. The doors didn’t lock or close well unless you slammed them. The bathroom door couldn’t be locked at all.

Then in the morning, around 10, a lady knocked on our door. I said “Hold on,” but she kept knocking and said “Housekeeping.” I repeated “Hold on, I’m putting my clothes on,” but she still opened the door. It didn’t open all the way because I rushed to hold it closed.

It was a horrible experience. You should know whether guests have already checked out before entering their rooms.

Nope… bed bugs and other issues

We stayed for 4 nights in one room and my step-daughters met us for two nights in a separate room (room 315). The staff was fairly stand-offish and uninterested in being helpful. The smoke detector had a low battery, so we asked them to change it. They just replaced it with a different detector but must have been the same battery because it was still beeping at us constantly, like it was low. We had to constantly ask for clean towels, toilet paper, etc, as no one was checking the room. They only cleaned, changed trash, and changed the sheets after the first night. At least two of the towels and the top bed sheet had what appeared to be dried blood on it. But the absolute worst thing was that one of my the daughters woke up with bug bites all over her and then they promptly checked for bed bugs. There were signs of bugs and they even found a live one. The clerk acted like it wasn’t a big deal and would pass the info along to a manager. That was all that was said about it. Like it was no big deal. I would avoid this place.

Bed was spacious & firm, no bed bugs. Did find a few roaches, so we tossed our food. A/C was broke and barely blew any cool air in 80 degree night. We asked for an AARP discount but was denied due to booking online. At least offered disabled room, all-the-way-the-other-end of the parking lot from the office & ice machine (Not so convenient)

Got what I needed....very satisfied

I was very satisfied with my stay. Yes, it was an older hotel and maybe a little tired. But the price was very reasonable and you get what you pay to for. I was surprised, in my opinion, very comfortable. I could complain, oh, there was a cigarette burn in comfortable, but that doesn't effect my comfort. I was very happy with a cheap, quick stay....that's all I needed and I got it.

Most horrible experience in my life

This was the most horrible experience that I had ever had.
The hotel has so much traffic in and out.
The room smelled like dog urine and most of all I couldn’t shower that night after driving for several hours because there was no towels to give out.
I didn’t feel safe at all people were out walking back and forth all night.
This is definitely not a place to take your kids and family.

ALL of the outlets in the room were worn out. Finally, the door closed and locked but there was a gap between the door and the doors threshold.

Dont stay if you have pets or need a softer bed.

Property was over all a little run down ans some areas of grass not clean. Parking was plentiful & easy. Room was neat and tidy, looked to have been renovated. Bed was very hard which made it uncomfortable. I had a dog with me and was unable to find a clear cut pet policy. Turned out they had a refundable 50.00 deposit and a pet fee. Pet fee got added into my bill. I forget to return the room key due to running late for my event the last day and they charged me an extra 50.00. Check in was poor, guy was talking to a friend on the phone ghe whole time which I found to be inattentive and un professional.

Property has no central corridor. All rooms enter from a walkway outside the building. So you can hear everything going on outside. Property has a Waffle House in parking lot. All weekend life’s were there all hours of the night with obnoxious booming music and cars with no muffler.
Staff did not advise me how to get heat on in room on check inn up and down the stairs for that info. Remote for tv did not work. Up and down the stairs for that king size bed had 4 toss pillow sized cushions to sleep on

Save yourself, stay somewhere else

This is a smoke free hotel, however twice we saw custodians smoking cigarettes within hotel rooms and in the walkways outside rooms while there are many signs that say you must be 50ft from building.

Secondly, there were so many bugs in our room! We recorded them and ended up camping two nights because we were so sketched out by the hotel room. I will be submitting the videos to corporate.

Lastly, this area is sketchy! Security (from the adjacent Waffle House) alerted us to go to our rooms while we were grabbing late night food bc there was an armed drug deal going down on floor one. That is just one of many shady operations that were taking place in the parking lot. Definitely witnessed some services in exchange for money. We even had a sticky breast cover stuck to our door in the middle of the night.

So disappointing! We were in from San Diego for a festival, and this place should have been condemned.

First impression, looked like a retired motel 6. After this it was all down hill. The check in process was sad to say the least, when we arrived at our room, it smelled like smoke pretty bad( this is a non smoking hotel), we only had 2 towels for 3 adults, air conditioning kept shutting off so the room was too warm to sleep, people were yelling/fighting outside all night long, trash in the stairwell was overflowing on both floors.

The room I was put in had a bunch of dead cockroaches, then at night had a lot of live cockroaches running on the walls and on the bed. I told the clerk about it in the early morning. He did not seem to care or offer any solutions or apologies. Was not happy nor was my wife.

It was a great room for the price. Awesome shower. A little pricey at almost $100. The area around the place is pretty rough but definitely not the worse. Just rough. I wouldn't stay with the kids or want the wife there by herself. But as an adult or a couple, not bad. Convenient location and a Waffle House next door. Make sure to ask for a room facing the front. The back is a little sketch.
