Under construction- the whole place. Entrances, hallways, common areas. Nearly tripped over communication cable in the hallway. Walked through filth to the elevators. Most of the sidewalks are missing panels and aren't fully accessible. We were in a finished room and it was actually nice. However, i work construction. I know from experience that phasing matters. Trying to do everything at once is irresponsible and unprofessional. Its a hotel- guest access, safety, and comfort should be at the forefront.

Hotel is under active construction. Smells like wet paint and spray texture. Every surface is coated in drywall dust. There are no amenities - no food, no pool, no fitness center. The room we had was nice enough, but had we known this was going to be as bare-bones as it was, we would have sought out alternate lodging.

When i booked this room nowhere did it say it was under a remodel…there was construction sound the workers you could smell them smoking cigarettes while in the rooms they were renovating. The room itself was nice and clean, bed was uncomfortable and the shower was either scalding hot or ice cold no in between. The complimentary breakfast was non existent

The entire place is under construction. No morning breakfast, no pool, no safe hallway or elevator or any other common area. There wasn’t even a lobby. There was a temporary front desk set up. I attempted to tour the room and before I checked in and the hallway had light fixtures hanging from the ceiling and drywall over the floor. The elevator was covered in drywall dust and paint. Plastic coverings everywhere. I couldn’t stay with my dog or my sister who recently had lung surgery. I was charged for the entire stay and contesting the charges. None of this was disclosed prior to my arrival and I did not authorize the charge.

unbenknownst to me, the hotel is going through an extensive renovation. mattresses all over the place in the back, sawdust, drywall dust all around. nothing more than a bottle of water as an amenity. the conditioner and soap containers in the bathroom were empty, the iron was rusted and ended up staining my shirt.

the lady at the front desk was very nice and kind and let me check in early. for that, i am grateful .

this hotel SHOULD NOT be offered to the public without a clear notice about its renovation.

Shower drain was slow. Smoke alarm went started chirping in the middle of the night, took off and removed battery. We didn’t want to call anyone at 1 am. Left a note for staff.
All in all it was an enjoyable stay.

We arrived very late because of weather. The check-in staff should be sitting in the front area. It was very late, it was 15 degrees below 0 and I am having to search for a door because of construction. I slipped on plastic that was beneath the snow and injured my arm. The door was locked I banged on the door and finally someone appeared after some time.

We were unaware that the hotel was under renovation but we checking early and the front office person upgraded us to a one bedroom suite which was much bigger than the room we originally had. Our stay was comfortable and peaceful. There was no noise from the renovation. The only ice machine working is in the front lobby area but that was the only small inconvenience. We enjoyed our room and time. I would recommend staying here even through renovations. The beds are comfortable and clean. Staff is very nice.

I booked here for the hot tub and pool and when I arrived I was told they were shut down permanently. They couldn’t reduce my rate because I booked thru third party. The breakfast was bad and the room was outdated, but staff was very nice. I won’t return.

Pricing: Sonesta is on the lower end of the pricing scale for similar hotels in the Tiffany Springs/Airport area.

Meeting “n” Exceeding: The front desk staff were friendly and attentive to our needs and inquiries during our stay.

Room to Refine: I assume many hotels will renovate in preparation for FIFA in KC next year. ⚠️We would have like to have been informed of this prior to our stay, considering the pool, hot tub, fitness center, and interior courtyard were all inaccessible and entirely under construction 🚧. There was a bar/lounge area, which was also adjacent to construction and a ghost town each time we walked past it.

Summary: The rooms are fine and dutifully clean, and the rate wont hurt your wallet. I’d be interested to see the hotel once the Marriott conversion is completed, however, if you desire any amenities beyond a place to rest your head, I’d suggest elsewhere.

Pool and hot tub closed. The courtyard was all under construction. Monday morning i woke up at 8am to a lot of banging and scraping. I got up and looked outside. There was a man climbing up a ladder right iinfront of my balcony. They were having the roof redone. There is 3 floors and i was on the top floor. It was sooo loud. It could have had the common courtesy to tell people there was construction going on. I didn't get switched to a new room on the inside Courtyard. But you're not allowed to go on the balconies on the inside court because of construction also. My first room the sink was closed the remote did not work. My second room the sink was clogged again. I would not recommend this hotel at all

Up side is it was cheaper than the other options and close to our destination. It is what it is. Probably wont stay again, but I have seem worse.

Pool and hot tub closed permanently. Lots of the areas under construction, including our balcony- it was filled with ladders and scaffolding. The website offers a CONTINENTAL breakfast for a fee, which is very misleading, it’s actually breakfast in a box, which they were out of over have the items. I will say, the manager did allow us to cancel our second night. So we did appreciate that.

There was construction going on in our hallway. I had reserved a room with a King size bed and pull out couch. We received a king size bed and an uncomfortable chair, no couch. Room was clean and bathroom was good sized. We were close to restaurants and the interstate. Pool and Hot tub were permanently closed.

The amenities were sorely lacking. No fitness room, no pool, no hot tub, no complimentary breakfast (continental or otherwise). The only thing offered at this location was complimentary coffee which the pot was often empty. It he room itself was sparse. No tissues, no microwave until we requested it and only one small waste basket.
However the worst thing was right after checking in and parking in a dark unlit parking lot and finding the side door not opening with the key card and having to walk around to the front doors in heavy rain. Then getting to the first floor elevator and finding a sizable amount of excrement in front of the elevator door. Terrible first impression!
The best thing about this stay was the super helpful staff who said he was a driver but helped us get a microwave in our room and brought out a pot of coffee for us. I can’t remember his name but i think it began with the letter “C”.

The tv was fuzzy every channel, the tub didn’t drain, the morning staff said she didn’t do breakfast boxes and it was a waste of $10 anyway but if I wanted it I had to wait till the next shift came and we never got the breakfast boxes. Airport service could run 24 hours or at least until midnight. instead it’s 4am to 11pm, construction throughout the entire hotel, the pool and hot tub were out of service. This all should’ve been mentioned in the Expedia booking notes. The property is under construction. We had scaffolding right outside of our window. The staff is rude and doesn’t seem to care. Their philosophy is, “if you don’t see it, we don’t have it”, the toilet screamed LOUDLY, with every flush. There were no liners in the garbage cans. There was no microwave in our room, we had to ask to have one delivered. The “construction” seems like a hazard, with visible exposed materials. The pool and jacuzzi were supposedly working, but our key didn’t work. A worker walked us down the long way of this strangely configured hotel and he let us in with his magical “key”, only to find the jacuzzi cloudy, wet towels and wet footprints, yet our key card still didn’t work after we felt unsafe swimming in those waters. Some other guest told us that the place had been sold, they were getting rid of the pool and jacuzzi and turning it into a business hotel. There was also no breakfast. I would avoid this place even after the construction is done. The parking lot is a mess. What hotel has a 4pm check in time! This place is the worst, and this is our second stay, and the first was rife with problems also.

1. Good: spacious clean room with very comfy bed and pillows.
2. Frustrating: BEWARE there's NO shuttle past 11 pm. We didn’t realize that and it cost us $28 Lyft from the airport. There's NO breakfast included. $10 for boxed bkfst - we passed.
NOTE: If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is just that.
