We had a studio suite, which was fantastic. Large seating area, huge bed, lovely bedding, jetted bath, huge walk in shower, 2 big screen smart TVs, shared patio area (5th floor, views over river and town). 2 complimentary bottles of water (free filtered dispenser and coffee/tea station in lobby) and plate of welcome cookies.
Breakfast, which is great buffet option and eggs cooked to order too, starts at 5am, not 6.30 as stated in description, so we were able to enjoy it before setting of for Machu Picchu.
It’s at the top of town, but it’s less than 5 minute walk down the riverside path to the bus for MP, and a 5 minute walk up from the train station.
Very friendly helpful staff, and will store your luggage whilst at MP too.

My stay at Taypikala Boutique Machupicchu was excellent from start to finish. The room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained—perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring Machu Picchu.

What truly stood out, however, was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a genuine smile. Their warm hospitality made me feel at home and added so much to the overall experience. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Machu Picchu and would happily stay here again.

As for the property itself, it left a lot to be desired...rooms were small and nondescript. No AC or heat, just a fan and a very loud dehumidifier? Breakfast was ok but lacking many choices like oatmeal, breakfast potatoes or scrambled eggs (hardboiled only). Location was good, though you should be in good shape as it is at the top of a steep hill along the river. Would chose another place with more amenities if I were to return to Agua Client. Thanks

Greatly enjoyed my stay at Taypikala Boutique. Scenic location in heart of town, conveniences and train station within easy walking distance. Excellent breakfast. An unexpected, pleasant surprise was a drinking water machine in the lobby, saving me from going out and buying plastic water bottles. I don't see this very often and it was very much appreciated. I highly recommend this beautiful, cozy hotel.

Room was fairly clean. The shower was cold on the first day and remained lukewarm at best, despite calling the front Desk several times. The second or third day we stayed there the shower was hot and pleasant. The location of this hotel is close to restaurants, but it’s at the end of a very long uphill, which made it very difficult to go back-and-forth especially because we would be hiking the whole mornings and our legs were tired. I did not mind it so much, but it was too much for my mother.

The staff is very attentive and they will help you as soon as they see a problem. The only issue I have with this location is the infrastructure is just very very old. As long as you're OK with the basic necessities, you'll be fine but if you're looking for something more, you should go to a different hotel.

Nice room, but the food not so good

The hotel is located up the hill in aguas caliente - 10 min walk from the train station. A staff member greeted us when we arrived and helped carry our luggage to hotel. We had a nice suite, but it seemed like they took down the second tv near our bed. They have portable heater and dehumidifier. No central heating. They have a nice jetted tub near bed and our room had a nice bathroom with 2 sinks and shower. The furniture was okay. The food offered was not great.

The location was good for food and shopping. The breakfast was wonderful. However the bathrobes were a little ragged. When we checked out, the staff stored our baggage while we visited Machu Picchu, which we appreciated, but were unable to walk it down to the train station with us when we returned. Staff was very helpful! So nice to be met at the train station and get help with our bags up the steep hill to the hotel which is located at the cry top, quite near the thermal springs. The hotel connected us with a guide who met us the afternoon before our visit to Machu Picchu for a briefing. He helped us get cash and our bus ticket for the last leg to Machu Picchu, in addition to pointing out where we could get the Machu Picchu stamp for our passports. The hotel staff gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner - Chullos by the train tracks.

It’s a nice, clean, modern hotel. We stayed 2 nights. Our room was big with a view of the mountains. Only con was the bathtub was difficult to step into. Breakfast was plentiful. We got 5 kilos of laundry done for $20. Best bargain ever. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because of the location. It was up a very long and steep hill at the top of town. Although when we arrived at train station the hotel sent someone to meet us and he very kindly pulled my suitcase up the hill. There are some nice restaurants located close by so no need to go down the hill. Also it’s very close to the hot springs. If you don’t have mobility issues, you should definitely stay here. Oh. They have good TV access. We were. Able to watch the Super Bowl in our room.

A great hotel on top of the hill. Nancy greeted us and what's apped me to see if we need assistance with our luggage from train station. It's only 7 minutes walk to train station and maybe 5 minutes to bus station to Macchu Picchu. A great locations to shops and restaurants. A 17 minutes walk up \" hot Springs\" and \" Macchu Picchu waterfall\". Unfortunately the later was closed to the weather. During our two days stay here we only got a bit of rain. The rest was beautiful clear skies. The venders are pushy; just say no thank you. The staff at this hotel were amazing from Nancy at front desk who accommodated our request for a better room to Rosemary at Buffet Breakfast. Thank you both!!!!

PS: My only negative comments would be,\" no coffee\" at their hot station which is only tea and no \"AC\" in rooms. They had fan!

This is the BEST hotel there in my opinion. The staff here is very kind and helpful! I stayed in a suite and it was very nice, with a balcony to over see the city. I tried to use the tub but there was a smell that came from the jets; so i ended up not using. Other wise the hotel is amazing with great breakfast. This Hotel is close to the very end of the city, and if you’re not use to walking uphill or are coming from an excursion its going to be a little difficult for you to get there. The town is a walkable town so you’ll be fine!
