Staff were great, nice and friendly! The bed was big and comfortable and the fridge in the room was a bonus. The bathroom was OK but the shower temperature was very temperamental, would go hot and cold without touching. For this reason I wasn’t able to have a shower to wash my hair as too uncomfortable to get cold in Jan, hence the 3 stars.

Close to everything! Chef is incredibly talented all pastry, crepes, compost, desserts, pudding, vegetables, egg… you get the drift. Fantastic front desk staff friendly and helpful. Note there is no shuttle to/from airport. They will however reserve a cab for trip to the airport. The bed is really hard and the pillows suck. Still loved it though.

The Mercure Paris 9 Pigalle Sacre-Coeur was a winderful hotel and experience. The staff was courteous, kind, professional, and helpful. The property was excellent with amazing views. The two rooms were perfect for my family of five. The only surprise for us were the number of adult stores and gentlemens clubs on the same street.We never felt unsafe, but it was awkward with kids. This is a great hotel!

The hotel is centrally located in Montmartre across from the Subway. Lots of great dining options nearby. The staff was great! They checked us in early and gave me the Balcony room! If you want an affordable, nice, air conditioned place to stay in Paris, this is it.

I booked a superior room hoping for an upgraded room from a standard classic room. The room was small and had no view. It was quite disappointing unfortunately. You had to squeeze past the bed to get to the other side of the room.

I wish I had upgraded to a privileged room.

The bed was large and comfortable and the shower hot. Service from the staff was good.

We didn’t have breakfast booked so can’t comment on that.

Perfect location for the Moulin Rouge and Monmartre but you are smack bang in the middle of the red light district. (So maybe not appropriate for children)

Sadly this hotel has three things working against it: 1) the staff hardly speak English and when you do have an issue they may speak to you loudly while other people are around. I often couldn't get across what we needed, etc 2) it's severely understaffed. There was only a receptioninst in the evenings who often didn't have access to stuff from the cleaning room, like hangers, etc. This is across the whole hotel. One employee. 3) It's in the middle of a dirty sex district. We came with a 5 year old and I kept having to divert her attention from the two window displays on either side of the entrance which featured lingerie and sex toys.

Could not get ac to turn on. The showers don't have doors so water was all over the floor.
Room service came in and did some cleaning even though we asked them not to come in. Not cool.

Firstly, I would like to thank the staff at the hotel who were always polite and made us feel welcomed. The facilities of the hotel were average. The room we stayed in was clean but slightly smaller than expected. As the hotel is situated on the main road, there was noise pollution and anti-social behaviour coming from the street all night long. We were not able to do anything about this. There are loads of things to do near the area; there are loads of bakeries, restaurants and the Moulin Rouge is located 3-4minutes walking distance from the hotel. My favourite street was Rue des Martyrs which also would lead you to Montmartre and eventually to Sacre Coeur. Overall, we were happy with our stay.

El hotel está ubicado en una zona de vida nocturna a una cuadra del Moulin Rouge, otros cabarets, cines y tiendas para adultos… hay restaurantes alrededor. Es fácil movilizarse la estación del metro que prácticamente te lleva a todos lados está literal en la esquina a pocos metros. Mi habitación está bien de tamaño, la caja fuerte no servia, la puerta del baño se trababa y la ducha no tenía puerta o cortina… cada vez que nos bañábamos se hacía una piscina el baño (todo un desastre) lo que podía causar una caída por un resbalón. De ahí la atención del hotel muy bien, la gente atenta, el desayuno muy bien, las instalaciones lo justo y suficiente para cumplir el objetivo de hospedarse.

Great location and cracking area

Considering its central location in Paris and good standard of accommodation, this hotel is good value, probably the best I have experienced in Paris. Across the road from a Metro station giving access to anywhere in the city, with a very convenient mini market next door and easy walking distance of the Sacre Coeur area, in a bustling area of town, we enjoyed our stay. Also just 10 euros for a taxi from Gare du Nord. The rooms are small but space is always at a premium in Paris. The bed is comfortable, the shower is good and the room has a mini bar that although not stocked is very handy for milk, beer, wine etc bought from the mini market. The room overlooks the Boulevard de Clichy which is lively but the sound proofing on the wondows is good. The area is of course full of sex shops and establishments but they caused no problems to us and the huge cemetery at Montmartre where many of France's great and good are interred,on the other side of the Moulin Rouge, is worth a visit. But the area around Sacre Coeur is the best area to enjoy, with some lovely bistros, magnificent architecture and superb views across the city. I'll be booking this hotel next time I go to Paris

Room is a bit tight and so luggage space was a challenge. You only get one small bottle of water as complimentary for a week-long stay which was disappointing

The hotel itself was wonderful. Guests looking in this area need to be aware that this is a hot spot for pickpockets and thieves. It’s a very young rowdy area at night with a lot of tourists through out the day. Not the hotels fault, obviously. But staying in this area, you should be well aware of this.

For a second time visitor to France definitely a better location to stay and have alot of fun. The area has alot offer being close to metro and things to see and do. The staff was rude. There was no blow dryer in my room I asked the staff twice about it. Both insisted on coming to my room to look. They finally gave me a blow dryer and when plugged in blew the lights. When I told them the dryer was not working when I plugged it in the staff member plugged it in a socket down stairs and when it switched on he blew it in my face.

The first thing that strikes you about the hotel is it’s location. It’s in the Pigalle area of Paris and, if you’re not aware of this, the sheer number of sex shops and x rated shows around may be off putting. Perhaps this is just a prudish English thing though.
The room we were given is quite possibly the smallest hotel room we have ever stayed in. It is possible to pay for an upgrade so we wouldn’t have had to shuffle sideways to move around the bed.
The hotel was clean, the staff very friendly, and the location was close to the Moulin Rouge, Montmartre, and the Sacre Coeur. If the room was bigger, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel (assuming being on a street with numerous unthreatening sex-related businesses doesn’t bother you).

Not sure if it is because of France or other reason, 4 star Hotel didn't provide tooth brush and tooth paste until we ask for. And there is no coffee pack inside our room, when we approach on deck, we were literally told by deck that maybe we are not SPECIAL enough to have it instead of give us coffee pack 😂. But when we reach our room after talk, the housekeeping put the coffee pack already. I believe the first day is just missed out, not that we are not special enough just like what he say. It is minor thing but it shown that the training on 4 star hotel is not sufficient. Although it could be language translate issue, but didn't feel happy about it. For environment cleanliness location wise, it is great. But it is for particular staff, other staff is friendly.

The hotel is in the Monntmartre area of Pars and the metro is across the street. There are many restaurants in the area along with the sex shops. Be careful taking a shower as there is no retaining wall so water gets over the floor. There is a nice breakfast served and friendly personnel.

Beautiful room, Great Price and location!

We chose Pigalle because of it's convenient central location, and the Mercure Hotel 9 was a perfect stay for the weekend. Plenty of amenities, a spacious room with a large walk-in shower and bathroom. Clean place, polite and helpful staff. Great location right across from the Pigalle Metro stop, blocks from Gare Du Nord train station and Sacre Cour. Nutralia organic grocery, post office and many great restaurants within 2 blocks. Don't be put off by the \"red light district\" stigma, unless you're particularly conservative, as there are many racy establishments in this neighborhood including the famous Moulin Rouge. The neighborhood felt safe for this non-French-speaking American, even late at night.

A day before the trip I google mapped the hotel and to my surprise saw that there were a lot of adult shops surrounding the hotel, this did worry me that the area we were staying in was going to be dodgy but I have to say we had a fantastic time. The area was perfectly safe we had no problems and the hotel was fantastic. Super clean, incredibly spacious considering, everything was modern and good quality.

Cannot fault the hotel at all!

The only thing Id say is that we were on floor 1 on the front and it was a-bit noisy at night due to the surrounding bars but I had ear plugs and it didn't cause a problem for me sleeping.

A couple of days before I checked in the hotel, I messaged the hotel to request a late check out time. The hotel staff (Veronique) was responsive and assured that they have taken note of my request. Unfortunately, it seems that the request note was not communicated to the rest of the hotel staff or it was a case of failure from the hotel staff on duty that day to note the late check out request. The service could be improved if the staff had taken initiative before the guests checked in as well as the day of checking out. We felt sorry for the cleaning lady who was told to clean up the room when we were supposed to have the late check out.

Although the hotel and rooms are rather small, our stay was excellent. The staff are friendly, helpful and english speaking. If you want to experience Paris like the locals, this is a great location! It is one block from the train station and close to lots of shopping, cafes and entertainment. We walked to most everything and took the trains to the rest. Don't be misled by reviews, and guided into a tourist location or hotel, you will be disappointed. Pigelle is an excellent area for great food, shopping and entertainment. We had so much fun we barely slept, and made great friends, had amazing food, and seen most everything in our six days. We will certainly be back to Paris!

Nice hotel in a good location so long as you don't mind being by the busy road, it was quiet with the window/door closed and thankfully this wasn't the kind of hotel that feels infernally hot at all times. Bed was very comfortable, the room was on the small side, but big enough, lacking a little shelf or drawer storage but no big deal. One of the lights was out in the bathroom which made it a little dark but only a minor quibble. Overall, very happy!

Excellent hotel and amazing location. Good breakfast. Shahid who served breakfast was very good and gave personal attention. That said, there was a receptionist by the name Able or Abel. He was not helpful at all and lied to us saying there is train strike. We believe he did that for us to take a taxi and he could get some cut from it. Also he was rude, crude and manner less. If I owned the hotel I would think twice about having him work for me.

Staff very rude. Absolutely unwilling to resolve any complaints and downright dishonest. Rooms are nice, but the housekeeping was poor. Bathroom layout really uncomfortable. The location is great for public transport, be aware of the adult shops in the area of travelling with kids. The Aircon is really good, beds a little harder compared to other paris hotels (😬).

Whilst waiting to complain to front staff about a laundry issue, hear another two guest complain about break-ins to their rooms with absolutely zero interest from front desk staff. Took three follow ups with staff to find our laundry, and then woke up at midnight by unecessary phone call from staff.

I know it was in Pigalle but with a sex shop one side and a strip joint the other it wasn’t what we had hoped for in Paris. The room was also so small we couldn’t open a bag in it to unpack. We simply walked up saw the room and the combination of the two made us RE-book. The hotel declined to refund any of the 4 nights stay even though we didn’t stay for any of the nights.

This hotel is exactly as pictured. It is clean, bright and new, and the rooms are smartly designed and decorated. They are small (which is normal for Paris), we requested an upgraded Queen room. It was still small, but on a higher floor with an adorable terrace. There are plugs for a USB cord which made it very easy to plug in and charge your phone. Bathrobes, slippers, and the rainfall shower head were also nice features. The hotel is right across the street from the Pigalle metro stop and there are tons of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Yes, there are sex shops, so I wouldn’t recommend this area for families, but aside from a few shops on the main road, everything else is normal. Sacre Ceour is a 10min walk, and we easily explored beautiful Montmartre on foot. Perfect location, very cute hotel. Pastries and coffee for breakfast in the lobby was also a nice touch; staff was friendly and accommodating. We liked Mercure a lot and would recommend it.

Overall was great, but there's this one staff.....

We were customers at this hotel for four nights during Feb. 28 - March. 4.
When we first checked-in, the reception lady was really nice and told us that the desk beside the reception desk has free marshmallow, croissant, and water for us to eat whenever we want. On March 1st, about 10:30pm, we went back to the hotel. We went to sit on the desk with the water and food, and the reception guy there rudely questioned us several times about our room number, we answered him our room number several times. But he still insisted that we cannot stay at the table and rudely ask us to leave immediately! We were just really tired the whole day and finally got back to the hotel to get some water before we were going upstairs to our room, but the reception guy lets us feel like we were some stranger or even some homeless guy that just walked into the hotel for no reason. But we lived there for 4 nights and paid in full, we did not owe anything to the guy. I don't understand why he acts that way and being that rude to us. It makes me feel really uncomfortable.
But, excluding the staff that I mentioned above, we met about over a dozen staffs there, all of them were really nice to us, no doubts about that. The hotel, the room, location, A/C, heater, shower, everything was really great! I would definitely consider staying there again, just hope NEVER to see that one staff ever again.

Cute hotel, great location

The hotel is cute and clean, the rooms are super small and the shower doesn't have a door so the floor gets wet everytime you take a shower. The avenue where the hotel is located is busy and surrounded by sex shops. If you are looking for a cute and clean hotel located near the metro and walking distance to many attractions, this is it. Be aware of your surroundings when walking in the area at night.

Nice clean quiet hotel and really affordable

This was my first time in Paris and I choosen hotel randomly ,because I didn't have experience about it ,also we decided to spent the Valentine’sDay with my husband over there ,so I needed something no expensive and close to the center ,and Mercury Hotel met my expectations , also the staff was super helpulf , professional ,friendly and well spoken english which was important for me as me and my hunby do not know french , the room was cozy clean and really quiet regards Lucyna Lubinska

We arrived to the hotel at pigalle after flying to Paris in which the hotel was good enough to keep our bags until check in whilst we started to explore.

Once we came back at the check In time of 1500 we were told that our room was still not ready and was told to wait. We waited in reception for 1 HR 30 minutes until our room was ready.

Once getting into the room although it was furnished in a modern fashion the room was too small with no room to get ready or even accommodate for storage for clothes.

As we were celebrating a birthday we requested a few glasses for bought champagne. The hotel refused to provide any glasses in which we had to use cardboard cups provided in the room.

The best mattress was extremely uncomfortable. We woke up every morning with bad backs and necks, it would of been more comfortable to lay on the floor.

Although the hotel is modern clean and tidy, it lacks many things that make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Good location!!

The overall stay was really pleasant. Staff are cery friendly. Only thing is they charged me 6 times of preauthorisation for 4 rooms which I still have not come back to my account. They said they released it and bank says they are holding it. Going through a viscious cycle.

It was worst stay in the hotel as hotel staff was not at all friendly and does not understand your basic requirement. i asked for plates and spoon on the very first day of my stay as my wife is pure vegetarian.So we wanted to eat in the hotel room but to my shock hotel staff said we don't have plates. Simply sorry. I booked this hotel after seeing 4 star rating but according to me it a no-star hotel at all.

Disappointing Overnight

Hotel was clean, great location, with decent breakfast, small room. Was extremely disappointed in their guest services. Requested directions emailed to me while I was traveling, after learning that they only arrange airport dropoff and not pickup. Called twice, first representative wouldn't listen, only wanted to talk and then told me he was \"too busy\", finally agreed to email men after finally shutting up enough for me to explain the request fully - never received an email. Second person, took forever to even pull up my reservation, couldn't spell for some reason, finally understood the request, said no problem - also never received an email. Of course at that point, with my time and money wasted on long distance phone calls, I figured it out myself. For the price of the hotel this should never have happened, I've gotten better customer service from youth hostels, let alone a \"4*\" hotel.

had a great experience. the room was clean, staff was friendly, breakfasts were great, location was good, close to Sacre Coeur and overall very active area, altho there are a number of adult shops nearby so not a good idea for a family stay. Overall we had a great experience, would definitely recommend.

the wifi here is really slow and poor, which is surprising since this is 2017... its also on a sketchy road, multiple adult stores along the road. however there arent many sketchy people on the streets, at least not in the day/evening but possibly at night. its very close to the metro (pigalle station), however be careful because there are young kids (15-16 yrs old?) who pretend to be metro attendants that help you, but are actually pickpockets. the rooms are fairly clean but they havent given water for the past two days, only the first day we got here. when i asked the reception for water, she told me \"relax its just water\" and kept repeating (sarcastically) \"heres your water\"... theres one receptionist lady whos here in the daytime whos really nice, but the rest are average/below average. we got one room with a double bed and another with two twin beds, and they are very small and barely have space to walk. the shower doesnt have a door so the water can easily go all over the floor which is so counterproductive... the rooms dont have a good view, and on a weekend night you can hear all of the people at the restaurant downstairs talking. the pillows arent that comfortable, also found some sand or something in the bed that scratched my elbow and it started bleeding... overall would not come back and would not recommend it.

Very convenient for Montmartre access however it´s completely surrounded by ´Adult´ X shops so not a ideal place if you go on Family Holidays or if you are travelling with kids.
Aside of this, everything else is good, accessible to the metro station, good and clean rooms.

Wonderful time!

Our hotel room was so comfortable with a gorgeous view of the Sacre Coeur. Although the neighbourhood was noisy on the weekend, we still got a good sleep. Hotel staff was friendly, and room was clean. Excellent area right in Montmartre beside the Pigalle metro. I would absolutely stay again.

Abdu, first check in receptionist was horrible, he said I am here temporarily and do it know much. Wait to tomorrow.

Great Location for Adults

My wife and I recently had a 5-night stay at Mercure Paris Pigalle Sacre Coeur. The concierge was friendly and able to answer all of questions thoroughly. The room was somewhat small by US standards but provided plenty if you plan on exploring the city. It might not be best for those looking to spend lots of time in their room. The bathroom was nice but the door was oddly designed and resulted in some water getting on the ground after every shower (easily wiped up with a towel). The room came equipped with a mini-fridge and safe for valuables. The cleaning staff brought fresh towels and made the bed every morning.

As far as location is concerned, the hotel is in a great location for adults. It is only a few meters from a metro station so getting around city by public transit is very easy. Further, the hotel is only a 10 minute walk to Sacre Coeur. The area has many adult themed clubs and stores, including the famed Moulin Rouge, so it may not be appropriate for younger children.

Overall, I would recommend the Mercure Paris Pigalle Sacre Coeur for any adults that are willing to take 10-15 train rides to get to the more tourist-centric locations (Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Louvre, etc.) or those looking for more \"adult\" experiences.
