Fascinating place. Not a destination for anyone looking for Ritz style accommodation. The single circular central staircase that gave access to the rooms was beautiful and redolent of life a century or more ago. I loved it but but a bit of a struggle for those with heavy luggage or with leg problems. Our room was fine for our needs and was kept clean and tidy despite our efforts otherwise! No included breakfast but a couple of good cafes within a couple of minutes walk. Staff were very helpful.

Booked this cheap hotel with my son for 2 mights. Turned up and got scammed €15.60 per person x 2 nights tourist tax, which is the rate chargeable for a ‘palace’…this is no more than a 1 star so should be €1-2 rate. Left a bad taste with me. After a 40 minute phone call to Expedia (who’d quoted £12.08) I couldn’t help but be angry, but hey we’re in Paris, near Moulin Rough, montmarte, Saca Couer, so good location. Hotel is VERY basic but did the job. I just hate being scammed!

Very small, no kettle, laid out wrong in my opinion based on where everything was.
You could sit on the loo, shower your feet and brush your teeth all at the same time then slide the door open and you was in bed instantly

OK stay, but not Grand.

I felt cheated because the hotel is called a \"Grand hotel\". I know that accommodations in Paris tend to be of a low standard, but I have stayed in better for that price. \"Grand hotel\" gives the impression of a certain standard, but there was no \"grand\" here. When I complained about the cleaning, it was taken very seriously and fixed immediately. The beds and shower were perfectly fine, but we lacked air conditioning. The fridge and safe didn't work, but I couldn't bring myself to point that out. Daily cleaning worked fine.

Muy malo el trato al turista. Te engañan, en recepción llegamos a las 23:45 horas, y nos cobró 60 euros de penalidad por llegar tarde.
Sino pagaba la penalidad, no me dejaban entrar a la habitación.
Al día siguiente reclamé el monto de la penalidad, que supuestamente es 30 euros por llegar después de las 22:00 horas hasta las 0:00 horas, el otro personal que estaba de turno me dijo que en el sistema figura que llegamos al chec in a las 0:02 horas, lo cual es falso. Tengo la evidencia que llegué a la recepción antes de las 0:00 horas.

What I liked: I received a custom postcard upon arrival.

What I did not: The room/hotel was not as fully depicted in the photos. I understand it is an historic hotel, still, repairs, stucco patchwork and mold should be attended to. I attempted to check out moments after seeing the room. None of the the amenities worked and I was assured a technician was coming to fix the TV and the fridge (which was needed for medication) would be exchanged. No one ever came. In the middle of the night my asthma flared from mold/mildew. There was also an EKG-LED patch on the wall above the bed. FROM WHO?

Upon check out the next morning, the desk clerk was very rude and refused to provide a receipt or proof that I was leaving.
It says no refunds for a reason.

It's a small family owned and managed hotel in a good location near the Pigalle Metro station, which is also not far from the major train station Gare Nord (international arrivals and train to CDG airport). It's on a quiet street. My room was above a noisy pub, but I was so tired I slept well. There are also rooms facing the back which is away from the pub and light sleepers should request one of those rooms. The staff are excellent! The son of the owners is very friendly and he helped me with my luggage. The room was large by central Paris standards and it had a lot of character which I liked. Not fancy, but the price was low for central Paris which is what I wanted. Overall the best aspects are location, great staff, low price, and spacious rooms. I was pleased and I would stay there again.

Good budget option in Montmartre.

Room won't win any designer showcases but it was clean, beds were comfortable and the shower was very small like most places in Paris. There was a small table but no chairs.
Secure building with main door having code access and there was a solid good lock on the actual room door.
A good place to sleep for a night or two but the single window made it a little lacking in sunlight and cheeriness.
Located on a quiet street and despite the bar next door, the room was pretty quiet. I was in the room right next to the bar.
People at the bar were very friendly too.

Overall the property was nice, rooms were a little tight but the bathrooms were comfortable and modern, location was good and easy to find. Our only difficulties were that we requested 2 rooms close together, and were assured we would have this, when we checked in we found the rooms to be 2 floors apart, not close together in my book. The second issue was when we booked the hotel the indication was they accepted credit cards, when we arrived the desk clerk indicated the card reader was down and we would need to pay by cash. We do not generally carry much cash when we travel and tend to rely on being able to charge large costs like our accommodations. After insisting we would not go and get cash for the stay, the desk clerk managed to \"find\" a working machine to be able to use our credit card.

Good \"basic\" hotel on street frequented by locals

This is a good basic hotel in a good location, if you are visiting Montmartre and surrounds. The hotel has two buildings, one over the bar facing the street, the other over the small reception area overlooking bar. I was in a double in front building over bar. Note there is no elevator in this building. on lower floors you will hear the bar in this building, in back building i dont think so.
The room is average size for basic hotel. The floors walls and bathroom were all updated and in very nice. My on issue with room comfort were the beds. These were terribly basic economy beds, which seemed out of place in the otherwise updated room.
On interesting note, the bar on ground floor is a vintage place frequented by Parisians mostly, and seems to have a loyal crowd of clients. It is referred to as a \"'ad\" bar in French and appears as it likely did in the 50s. Many clients were middle aged. These old vintage places are fewer now, and are becoming trendy as more authentic , i met a friend there for a glass of wine befire going out, and it was very enjoyable. These bars nitable also as they are considered inexpensive comparing to Paris today.
We ate at the restaurant next door called \"Biche\" which had excellent French dishes, and seemed akso to be full of locals. On a weekend, arrive early if you do not have a reservation.

Hotel de Clermont is a cute hotel in an amazing location. It’s very close to not only Sacre Coeur and Moulin Rouge but to many restaurants and bars and a metro stop. The staff were very friendly and efficient which we really appreciated. The receptionist was welcoming, spoke English, and made the check in process easy. He was also helpful with recommendations when we needed them and let us leave our bags behind the desk after check out because our flight didn’t leave until later in the afternoon.

The room we were in didn’t have A/C which was ok because the window could be opened but there is a bar downstairs which could be a little loud with the window open. Also, we struggled at times to get consistent wifi in our room on the top floor.

Those little things being said, we did have a great time in Paris and we would definitely stay here again next time!

On first arrival at the hotel, we were a little concerned about the area - lots of graffiti on the walls, bars, etc. But after staying there for 2 nights, we were fine with it. Just a very local area that, by the way, is near Moulin Rouge and other \"clubs\". The room was fine for the 3 of us. Nothing to write home about, but pleasant. The front desk clerks were very helpful. They offered to keep our bags when we checked out, and worked with us on our very late arrival.

This hotel has no lift & access to the rooms is by a very narrow, very steep spiral staircase.
The room was clean and recently painted, the on suite was beautiful & very new, so new it was not quite finished but still worked as intended.
Unfortunately the fitted sheets were too small for the mattress and kept coming off, some had holes in them.
There were a lot of places to eat and drink within walking distance.
Metro is the best way to get around.
Best to buy a 10 pack of tickets, much cheaper than buying new every day.

Affordable hotel that is close to main attractions

This hotel isn't for the people that are use to staying in nice hotels. This hotel has more of a hostel vibe to it. If you read through all the other reviews, you will know exactly what you are getting out of this experience. They provided new towels everyday and cleaned up your room. The metro station was 5-10 min walking distance which is very convenient. There's also an abundant of restaurants around the area as well. Overall good experience and very affordable.

BED BUGS!

Thought the whole time I was being bit by mosquitos while being out then morning we packed to leave for our 6am flight we found a bed bug crawling across my phone Barf! And we were also wrongfully charged for 185 stay we were charged in advance almost 600 and they denyed it and said it was the wrong hotel name in the charge because it was hotel de clermont not \"GRAND\" hotel de clermont but finally fixed it after a week, but the receptionist was nice and and it was only a block away from the Moulin Rouge and down the street from the metro.

I think we were very lucky. Got a fantastic studio apartment room. I normally find beds away from home very uncomfortable but mine was great. It's not a 5* hotel. But it beat my expectations massively. Perfectly suitable for our trip. Bathroom is tiny - that would be the main gripe but shower was good and, as I say, for the price you couldn't want more.

Good Basic Hotel in Great Location

I can recommend Grand Hotel Clermont to anyone seeking a small, clean, basic room in a great area of Paris, Montmartre. This is a credible budget option for the traveler not planning to spend a lot of time in the room. There is no 24-hour concierge service, but when the manager is in, he is cheerful, responsive, courteous, and helpful. He even hauled one of our heavy bags up 3 flights of the narrow spiral staircase to our room. On the ground floor there is an authentic Parisian bar with a mixture of hipsters, millenials, and blue collar Parisian folks that I found great fun. Sheets and bedding were changed daily, and the room was very clean thanks to the diligent maid. I would definitely consider staying there again, and fell in love with the Montmartre neighborhood: shops, bistros, patisseries, cheese shops, wine shops -- even a laundromat is nearby. The \"Blanche\" metro stop is less than a 5 minute walk down the hill, and it connects you to anywhere in Paris. If you're in need of an American coffee fix, the Starbucks is right across the street from the metro station, and also the famous Moulin Rouge.

Nice hotel in Montmartre

Location is about a 8 minute walk from the Metro station located right by Moulin Rouge (Blanche). Very great area to walk around and also close to Sacre Coeur. Very nice people who run the hotel. If you have heavy luggage, be warned that there is no elevator in the building, but enough room to climb up the stairs. The room (twin) was okay small and the bathroom was also small. As my friend and I are smaller people we could manage, however a larger person may have difficulties maneuvering around in the bathroom. Would stay again.

Great location close to the Abesses Metro station in Montmartre. Tiny steep stairs lead to the rooms: don't bring big heavy bags! The bar downstairs is noisy in the evening if you leave your window open. Only single beds but they are comfortable. Good value for the price. No breakfast but Le Vrai Paris cafe is a block away and is great: morning and evening!

Well, there is NO room service despite the \"don't disturb/do my room\" tag provided, even if you hang it on the door. No making the room, no towel change. You may stay as many days as you wish, but the original little soap bars (and the tiny 1\"x1\" shower gel bags meant to be used on all of your hair+body) won't be replaced unless you especially request them to do so. Same for garbage removal. I would stay there again anyway, as the neighborhood is great. Just consider it a rental apartment and bring your own shampoo/soap. Convenient mini fridge in the room. Don't expect an elevator nor comfortable stairs, otherwise you wouldn't get the \"feel\" of Montmartre.

Very great, simple hotel for the price paid. A comfortable and charming concierge area/ living room with wifi and an outdoor area with wifi as well. Attached is a nice bar with lots of people. Can be somewhat loud at night if you are in one of the rooms above the bar but never too loud. Just friendly voices and soft music. Staff was all very friendly and accommodating. Great stay.

Excellent value, location and has rustic charm!

Having done some research, knew the location was ideal for Montrmartre and Pigalle areas. Also knew not to be put off by first impression. Although it doesn't look very 'glam' from outside, we were given a great wee studio flat on the ground floor next door to the bar - no stairs to cope with as mentioned by other reviewers. This was perfect for us. Studio was very clean (maid service each day) and had three single beds, kitchen and table to go self catering if you want. You also get free wifi! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had a drink with the locals in the bar - great prices and an entertaining clientele!

We arrived at Hotel de Clermont to be told we were being moved due to an issue with the system booking. We were moved to a hotel on a noisier road called Hotel Audran, and weren't offered any discount due to this. The wifi didnt work in the room, the room was really dirty (hairs on floor, dust everywhere) and the shower didn't drain properly. Bed was comfy though. Good location. But disappointing to be moved for our trip.

Good and bad. The room is very clean, comfortable. But, no way to get into the hotel in the morning, ill-kempt and loud bar in the front, treacherous path up to room. Some of the staff is super, but, the owner doesn't recognize some of the property isn't acceptable. Neighborhood is amazing: bistros, close to Sacre Coeur. If you're into funky properties, this is good. If not, you need to rethink.

The people who run the hotel were very kind. Keep in mind that the rooms have no phone or tv, and you can easily hear other guests. There is no lift, and the wooden stairs seem to be on the list for remodeling. Good for basics if you don't mind a no frills hotel.

Die Lage ist top, das Hotel sehr günstig, da muss man in Kauf nehmen dass das Zimmer schon was abgeranzt ist und das Hotel allgemein ein bisschen runtergekommen ist. Für den Preis war es aber völlig in Ordnung.

Loftslys lignede noget fra en operationsstue og ingen sengelamper.
Spejlet på badeværelset hang lavt og ikke noget god belysning.
Håndklæderne var meget små.
Køleskabet kølede ikke ordentligt.
Meget dyr city-tax
Ingen service eller elkedel til rådighed
På positiv siden tæller at boligen ligger i Montmartre og vi var ikke plaget af støj fra natteliv.

Abbiamo avuto la perdita di acqua in bagno sempre, si è tutto allagato, camminavano sull'acqua, avevo avvertito subito in reception però non hanno fatto niente mai, non avevamo carta igienica e soprattutto siamo rimasti molto male perché le tasse del soggiorno erano di 15.50 a persona a notte e non come avete detto voi

Rapport qualité-prix ok. Pas cher pour le quartier... lits confortables. Services minimum (pas de petit déjeuner).
Petites choses à réparer dans la chambre 05: la table de chevet prête à s'écrouler, l'attache pour le pommeau de douche cassé et la porte du mini bar.

Upon arrival, we were charged a tourist tax at the highest possible rate, rather than according to the city's official regulations (62 euros for 2 nights???).

The hotel smells of damp, with mold covering the bathroom ceiling. To make things worse, you might get stuck inside because of a sliding door that doesn’t actually slide — especially if you're alone in the room when it happens.

Beware: the hotel also charges over 30 euros if you’re unfortunate enough to check in after 10 PM.

In short: you’re better off booking a slightly more expensive hotel nearby — you’ll enjoy a far more comfortable stay, and probably for a better value overall.

La douche est remplie de moisissures, la toilette est crottée et les réparations ne sont pas complétées ou faites par des amateurs. C’est bruyant dans les escaliers.
