Nice hotel, sleepless nights

My daughter and I were in Paris for a few days to celebrate my birthday and I booked this hotel as it was close to Moulin Rouge, which we had tickets for. I read the reviews and most were acceptable and I noticed it had sound proofing and other reviewers had said it was quiet, but perhaps they meant on a quiet street. There was no sound proofing at all as the walls were paper thin. I could hear the guest in the room next to me who had a mobile phone on all the time and had messages coming through throughout the night. My daughter is very sensitive to noise so did not sleep at all the first night. She was offered a room on the 4th floor (having previously been on the 2nd floor), which she accepted of course, thinking this would be better but it was not. We spoke to the receptionist and the manager. Although he was apologetic, he was very blase about the whole thing even to the point of asking "why did you book then"? I BOOKED BECAUSE THE HOTEL WAS ADVERTISED AS BEING SOUND PROOFED! On checking out, there was no offer of any goodwill gesture or refund for one night which could have been offered, especially as the manager was around when we were checking out. So, if you want a nice, boutique hotel and don't mind hearing other guests then book this hotel. I believe if you have rooms on the right, ending in "3" these are quieter but I would not risk booking again just to find this out.

There are grocery stores and other restaurants near by however it is quite close to the red light area so walking those streets with kids isn't a good experience, the room was good and very clean. Hotel staff was very friendly as well.

I didn't realize that I was booking in the red light district, but if you go just around the corner away from the main road, there are many excellent cafes and restaurants and the neighborhood is very nice. The property is a great find if looking for 2 bedrooms in Paris - the bedroom was roomy, and the shower is a luxurious size - especially for Paris. The master bed was very comfortable. The room was quiet. We appreciated being able to leave our luggage for a few hours after checkout. It is also a short 5 minute walk from the metro.

Very stylish and attractive hotel, quiet at night, breakfast was diverse and delicious (at an additional cost.) Close to several Metro stations, be aware that it's in the Pigalle district with many adult stores and theaters on the way to the Metro. Our 10 year old got a bit of an education!

We had the family suite and with our 2 adult children, the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The hotel was convenient to the metro and within walking distance of many attractions and neighborhoods we wanted to visit. The Pigalle area is more “adult” themed, so understand that if traveling with young children, but for us, it provided a good laugh. Highly recommend this hotel!

The room was clean and the shower was one of the best overhead I had ever experienced. Expedia needs to update the facilities/amenities section as they do NOT have laundry facilities for guests. I was expecting this and planned around it. Also, I read reviews that the lift is frequently not working. Guess what, on my last night it malfunctioned and I was on the fifth floor.

As you exit the property, if you take a left there is a lovely street full of restaurants. If you take a right you are in easy walking distance of Blanche station which is manned and so attendants can assist you with buying a navigo ticket. Also great access to sacre coer. If you take a right out of the hotel and then left there is a supermarket market which had huge pain au chocolates. Delicious. There is a gentleman’s club opposite the hotel which is only open later in the evening and so my children never saw anything. Also along the main road which you have to walk to the stations there are a lot of XXX shops. Which didn’t bother us as our children are too young to understand, but may be a bit of a different situation if you have older children. We managed to see most of the sites and spend a day in Disney in the 3 days easily from this location. The delux suite was spacious and enough for a family of 4. Would happily stay again.

Really quite surprised at how good this place was. There was a second bedroom with fold out couch so we were able to have our own room and the kids have their own room too.

Lovely property but not the best area for kids. The staff were wonderful annd helpful and accommodated an early check in which was very appreciated after our long flight in to Paris. The air conditioning was broke but they fixed it and the lift was broke on the day we left, which would have been hard for anyone with mobility challenges as the staircase was steep. We only stayed one night in Paris and unfortunately the neighbourhood wasn’t great with families, but it was close to the metro so we could go see the city easily, and it was very lively area for adults, but too close to the red light district for our comfort. Great for adults.

A perfect little oasis in a less frenetic area of Paris, just down the hill from montmartre. Yes there are sex shops around the corner, but it doesn’t feel seedy or scary, and I was a 61-year-old woman alone for my first two days. It’s tiny but makes great use of space, lots of storage, especially in the bathroom with a great shower. The street is quiet, especially with the windows closed. Caroline and Ian at the front desk were the best. Even if my budget was doubled, I’d come back here - I’d just request one of those Eiffel Tower view rooms on top.

We had a great family stay at the Hotel Saint Louis. The staff were really friendly, the room was clean and had everything we needed and the hotel is in a good location for walking to Monmatre. There are also two metro stations close by.
If you are going with children, then be aware that Pigalle still has lots of 'adult establishments' - but it didn't ever feel unsafe walking in the area around the hotel.
It was a great base for exploring Paris. We would definitely go back.

Loved staying here and would stay again. I traveled in the off season so the hotel was no busy at all. The hotel was also kind enough to fulfill my request of a higher floor and my room was quiet and was not street facing. The bed was comfortable and I loved the rainfall/waterfall shower (nice water pressure and even temperature).

Ian at the front desk spoke excellent English and was very helpful with everything I needed. I was even able to check in early (11am) as my room had already been cleaned - likely because the hotel was not very busy/off peak travel.

Location was perfect and an easy 1mile walk from the train station. And only a few minutes walk to Montmartre without being in the thick of it. Safe and clean area.

Place is a nice and cozy place. The balcony was a plus. The only thing we disliked was that we had no control over the AC/heater. We had to call front desk every time we wanted it changed. It got cold at night and we called to turn the heat up but we never felt it get warm. The room didn’t have blankets only a thin comforter. Other than that it was a nice place.

I reserved a superior room and received ground level adjacent to reception. I could hear each person at reception. Windows faced into adjacent room - no privacy. I requested money back - they would not accommodate change in room or return of funds. The only good thing it is centrally located in Pigalle next to a good restaurant.

Overall staff is amazing and very attentive. Hôtel facilities is as expected. We had a 2 bedroom family suite with plenty of closet space. Washroom sink is a bit small but great shower.

Star is a bit noisy has to keep our windows/ balcony doors closed to block off noise from street. Very hilly so make sure you bring good shoes. Pink Mama restaurant is within 10 meters and a must try restaurant if you stay here.

Apparently, the elevators is broken down for at least a month. We were not notified of that. The room was on the 5th level we had to carry our luggage up and down the stairs, when we ask for an extra towel we were told We cannot have one, only allow two towels.
It was bags of laundries in the hallway on every level stereos were very narrow and very steep spiral stairs, very unsafe for trip hazard to climb with luggage in your hand and come down stairs with luggage in your hand

Everything about this hotel was wonderful! This was our first trip to Paris with children (8 and 9 years old). We’ve been here before many times as singles or couples. We were a group of 2 families, each family booked a room at Hotel Saint Louis Pigalle. The neighborhood is super walkable, super convenient. You have a choice of pigalle or Blanche metro. If you want to avoid the ‘red-light’ walk towards pigalle - no big deal. The rooms at this property are the largest rooms I’ve ever witnessed in Paris. Spacious floor plans with plenty of closets. The breakfast is adequate with many options. But the staff is the best part. Super friendly with many recommendations. We will stay here when we return to Paris. Bravo to the team at this hotel! Thank you for making our first holiday in Europe with children so easy!

Location is good as it was convenient: being nearby to the metro station and having lovely restaurants nearby. However, there were also a few streets which were full of sex shops but it didn’t take away from the experience as you could simply ignore them by walking in the middle path.
We stayed in a suite bed that was comfortable but sofa bed was not like we expected and wasn’t comfortable at all. The cleaning was good, however I don’t believe they change bed sheets during the stay so bed bugs might appear if you stay for a longer period.
The receptionists during are star were both very friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed our stay and found the staff very friendly.The room though a bit small was fine and clean. We had a balcony so this made for more space.
There are a few eating places nearby and we enjoyed the St George best.
The road was pretty quiet with the main road a couple of hundred yards away (be aware there are some adult themed shops on the main road)

It’s a boutique & characterful hotel. Always have someone on the front desk & Noelle in particular was very helpful. Best part was the shower - incredible water pressure & both rain shower & handheld shower rose. The area has lots going on but is a little far from the main city monuments. Discovered bus route 30 gets you there for 2.50 euros - much cheaper than a cab!

The hotel is in a good location which you can walk to from the Metro. The room was small which is fairly typical of Paris. It was very comfortable and quiet, even though it overlooked the street. Breakfast was good with a varied selection.
