I absolutely loved staying at Hotel Bass in Montmartre

The rooms are beautifully done — cozy yet stylish — the beds are Spectacularly comfortable. The kind you melt into after a long day walking Paris and wake up actually feeling rested.

It felt calm, intimate, and perfectly located in the neighborhood. When I come back (because I will), I would 100% try to stay there again.

Had an excellent stay at Hotel Basss.
The staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. It’s in a great location in a beautiful part of Paris near the Moulin Rouge and Sacré-Cœur cathedral. There are 3 metro stations nearby and it is close to Gare du Nord station.
The hotel is in a typical Parisian building but modern inside. We had 2 rooms and both were clean with everything we needed. One had a view of the street but wasn’t noisy as the hotel is not on a busy road. This room was the smallest of the two and the bathroom was really small with hardly any space between the toilet and wall, not an issue for us but worth noting. The other room looked out over the courtyard with a much bigger bathroom.
There was a kettle in the room which we didn’t use as there complimentary tea, coffee and water in the breakfast area.
There are plenty of bakeries, bistros and supermarkets around the hotel too.
Loved the hotel and location!

My stay at Hotel Basss was nothing short of fantastic. I was a female traveling solo to Paris so a few things that were important to me were safety, location, and comfort. Hotel Basss covered all areas with a high degree of satisfaction. They have a security feature at the main door during late hours which gave me peace of mind. The location was also great. It was close to two metro stations and the area was overall really nice and walkable, even in the evening. I felt safe. I loved the complimentary coffee machine and water station on the main floor. I also loved the kettle and tea in my room. My room was spotless and very comfortable. It was perfect to come back to after a long day of exploring. The hotel overall was clean, comfortable, and I personally liked the style of decor. Every staff member that I encountered was also very pleasant and helpful. Hotel Basss made my trip very enjoyable and I will be coming back to this hotel next time I am able to visit Paris!

I love Hotel Basss. I have stayed in this hotel a number of times and it feels more like home away from home when I am visiting this beautiful city. The rooms are clean, the staff are very nice and friendly and it is only a short walk away from 2-3 different Métro stations, Blanche, Pigalle and Abasses. Highly recommend this hotel!!

Excellent hotel in the heart of Montmartre. Exceptionally clean. Only improvement would be the size of the shower and sink in room 601 - the sink was huge meaning you had to squeeze past to get in the shower. The temperature of the water kept changing from boiling to freezing. Otherwise the room was beautifully appointed and stylish. We would stay again

Hotel Basss is located in a bustling area with excellent dining and an easy walk to the Metro, Moulin Rouge, and Sacre Coeur.
The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, check-in was easy, and the rooms are modern, spacious, and clean.

The WORST hotel in France- No Elevator

No Elevator, and they gave us room on the 6th floor, was hell to take the suitcases up the stairs. Staff spoke very little english and not very helpful. Bathroom was TINY with no hair dryer. Overall will not even recommend the hotel to my enemy, it was that bad..

Trendy area, only for the fittest

The hotel is right down the street from the Abbesses Metro stop, a fun, trendy area but is on the side of Mont Martre. Lots of excellent choices for food, drink, socializing on the street and a Metro line that requires a connnection to get most places.
The hotel is in excellent condition but it is a six story walk-up with about 8 rooms per floor (NO elevator). My room was on the fifth floor and it was a difficult hike up to the room after a long day out, not to mention on arrival with bags. I have to say that several times I avoided returning to my room. Overall all very clean and modernized but they did not clean the room on one day (out of five). Small pastries and a small coffee from a machine are \"breakfast\" but excellent places to buy breakfast in the neighborhood. Reasonalby far removed from the Pigalle red-light district by a steep walk up the hill but an easy walk down the hill if that is what you want.

The hotel is quite fine. It is very well located, rooms are clean but small, some of them very small. Service is good, people at reception desk are nice and helpful, and they speak English. Breakfast consists in a coffee and a croissant, and the for free, as they say (nothing is included, all is for free!) you get a lunch box, which is quite nice.
We had a problem with the shower in our room, and they changed us to another room without any problem.
I would recommend this hotel to young couples.

Stairway to Heaven

The hotel is on a charming street in a great location with several restaurants at your disposal, as well as a Metro station in close proximity. We loved the area. The hotel staff was as helpful as possible considering a slight language difference. However there were a few things which we would have preferred other wise.

Upon arrival we were given a room on the sixth floor. There is no elevator, we had to change rooms to a lower floor, and in the event there had been non available we would have had to go to another hotel. This should have been disclosed in the hotel demographics. The rooms are charming, small but sufficient, however with no air conditioning it was necessary to leave the window open, they did provide a fan in each room. We overlooked the chicken restaurant that was down stairs back kitchen alley. EVERY MORNING AROUND 5:30 am they would bang pans,pots whatever in the starting of their daily duties. Also it smelled like rotisserie chicken every day, not bad chicken just incessant aroma. This was a bit annoying.

I think the cost could be a little less under the circumstances, but for the locale and charm of the area. I have no real complaints. After all we're in Paris!!!! What's to complain about.

Small but well kept

We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed ourselves, the rooms are small but the bed was comfortable. Location is really good, very close to Sacre Couer and metro stations to the centre. The only problem is that there are 6 floors and no lift so that can be a little annoying after a day spent walking around.

Find another hotel

My room was small, the bed was mediocre, and the ammenities were the bare minimum. This is what I expected based on the price.

I was thrilled that I had a private bath, however, there was no seal on the shower doors (which were mismatched). Each time I showered, the bathroom floor flooded (and even once leaked into the sleeping room). The shower had quite a bit of mold.

It promises WiFi but after 7 failed attempts, we were forced to wait to use the common computer in the basement.

The entrance was locked at night, which was good in terms of security; however, our keys did not work on the door and we would have to ring for entrance. Many times there was no one at the front desk keeping us outside for long periods of time.

When I asked the manager where I could purchase a bandage or other medical supplies, he dismissed me with a laugh. This was one example of his rude behavior. Save one other staff member, the other staff members were pleasant.

The morning breakfast consisted of a tray of picked over croissants and having to ask for a token to get coffee from the machine in the basement.

The location and the price were the only saving grace for this hotel.

The price is great, but you may want to consider spending a little more for your lodging.
