This hotel doesn't allow you to use ac during \"winter months\" even if it's really warm outside so you have to sleep with an open window, but the traffic, pollution and noise are horrible. I felt unwell my whole stay and felt better immediately when I changed hotels. Great price for the location and the free snacks are fun, but if you're sensitive to pollution or have asthma or allergies, I'd look elsewhere until they allow you to use ac.

(Also I know the ac issue is a normal thing in Paris but the street noise and pollution make it worse at the property...my room reeked of cigarette smoke and car exhaust).

The location of hotel is relatively easy to get around. Walking distances to supermarkets, restaurants and shopping. Hotel room is average size. The rooms are not very soundproof. I could hear my neighbors at night. Security was not the best. The room door did not have an extra lock, which didn’t feel so safe. An advantage is that you can stop by any hotel from the same hotel group and grab snacks/drinks during certain time. Overall not bad.

Staff was very nice. The area was bustling with a lot cafes and restaurants. Public transportation was very close by either busses or the Metro. The city itself was made to walk and later by traveling by metro. Traffic is intense so be wary of using cars or busses to travel. Lots of bakeries and different options for food including fast food options that taste better than what you'd find back home. Kind of a quirky hotel but that basically makes sense it's located in the old red light district. Moulin Rouge is right there basically. Great place to buy souvenirs around Rue Blanche. Great guy very nice and good prices. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

Found this gem and couldn't have been happier about it. Great little quaint and cozy hotel that really felt like home for a couple of days. Staff (especially front desk) are super helpful and informative. The room was super clean and taken care of, and has all the amenities you can imagine. Free minibar and free snacks at the lobby are just the finishing touches of an overall fantastic experience. Can't recommend enough; made my stay in Paris that much better. Plus, location is beyond great. Simply amazing.

For a short stay is a nice place. I stayed 3 days at the hotel. It was 3 of us. The room was small but comfortable, we had a queen bed and a small sofa bed. It’s close to the Moulin Rouge theater, so is a tourist site and that was ok. What I didn’t like was that there are many sex stores around the theater and that attracts the wrong crowd.

The hotel was a last minute booking but I am so glad we chose it. The hotel is recently renovated and our room felt new. Rooms don’t have a lot of storage but are spacious by European standards. The bathroom was also larger than expected. Staff was amazing- friendly and very helpful. The area is central and 1 block to the metro. I would definitely stay here again.

My friends and I traveled to Paris to see Beyonce in concert and Hotel Joke was the perfect host. The hotel is really cute with creative decor but the staff was truly incredible each member we encountered was friendly, kind, and helpful. What we loved most about the hotel is how centrally located it is, it's literally in walking distance of Moulin Rouge and so many other fun/amazing establishments. We really had the time of our lives and would absolutely return to Hotel Joke.

This hotel has small but thoughtfully designed rooms. The atmosphere is playful--everything was clean, the staff was great. I didn't get the breakfast, but it looked great. There were plenty of cheap breakfast options right outside the door. The concierge Rocio was very warm, friendly and helpful.

We like the free snacks from 2pm-2am. This makes a huge difference. The hotel location is also a big plus, close to the metro stations and having a lot of dining options close by. This was my second 2 week stay at the Hotel Joke. What can I say, I love the neighborhood. Within a 5 minute walk you have a five Guys, a Starbucks, 4 or 5 boulangeries, the Moulin Rouge, a couple fantastic Chinese restaurants, a handful of typical French cafes, countless other restaurants that have pizza, pho soup, Italian food, Japanese food, a couple flower shops, a butcher, a seafood market, a couple produce markets. Not to mention you can catch multiple Metro lines and bus lines within that same five minute walk. The neighborhood has a little gritty side to it with a few massage parlors and adult shops, but it’s not overbearing. Safety has never been an issue. The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful and their English is way better than my French. The breakfast is good with many choices including cold cuts, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, cheeses, pickles, toast, potatoes, sausage etc and it has slight variations each day. The free snacks come in handy sometimes and are pretty good quality. Potato chips, dried fruit, walnuts, candy etc that you can grab on the go or after a long afternoon of sight seeing. The rooms are relatively quiet and you don’t get much noise from the street. My only complaint on this subject is the noise from room doors. They are quite loud. But if the guests were a little more considerate and gently closed the door instead of just letting it slam, this wouldn’t be an issue. The entry to the hotel is locked 24/7 and you must ri

I didn’t like that not all the hallway/elevator lights were working. The morning/midday staff were way friendlier than the nighttime staff. Housekeeping doesn’t announce themselves and ignore the sleeping sign on the door, so I felt my privacy was constantly compromised. My TV didn’t work, but I’m on vacation so I didn’t care. Room/property was very clean.

So this is a three star hotel and I would give 4 stars to this hotel. The check in was excellent - fun and quick but interactions with other members of staff felt a little like we were in the way.
The rooms were clean but we had issues with the room cards and some power points didn’t work - we had two rooms side by side and one room worked fine but the other had problems.
I can’t fault the amount of snacks provided each day from 2pm 2am and the location was a 13 min walk to Galleries Lafayette, the Palais opera Granier and just down the road from the Moulin Rouge. There are great restaurants near by which have been included in the Mitchelin Guide. It’s a convenient hotel at a good price

The receptionist provided exceptional assistance to us. The hotel is conveniently located for our visit to the Moulin Rouge. Although the room is on the smaller side, it is clean and suitable for our needs. The bathroom, while lacking ventilation, is well-maintained with plenty of towels and a secure, comfortable bed. The hotel's unique decor adds to its charm and has garnered it a reputation. The complimentary buffet, offering tea, coffee, soft drinks, and mini cakes, is a nice touch. PROS:
1. The room is tidy and compact but still cozy and offers everything you may need. I couldn't get the Chromecast on my TV to work but it's nice they offered it.
2. The shower is nicely sized and relaxing 😌
3. They offer an open area to grab coffee, tea, and snacks until 2AM down in the lobby.
4. The minibars in the room are well stocked and generous with a can of Pepsi, bottle of apple juice, sparkling water, and a couple bottles of water. Mine was situated right next to the bed which made waking up and reaching down to grab a super cold bottle of water after a night out drinking a Godsend!
5. Smack dab in the heart of Montemartre and a 5 minute walk to the Moulin Rouge. You couldn't get any more walkable!

CONS:
1. Although they say they're eco-friendly, leaving your towel hanging means nothing and housekeeping will swap it whether you need a clean one or not. Not a big deal, really. Just found it silly.
2. They say they have laundry amenities. THEY DO NOT! What they have is a laundry service down the street that will charge you an ungodly amount of money to wash your laundry for you. You may not want to go there and wash it at the laundromat yourself, because nobody wants to sit at a laundromat during their holiday, but if you have to then DO! I mistake of having my laundry done for me and it cost over €300! I should have had it done in London where they charged £6 per pound, but I assumed they had a laundry area at Joke Hotel because it was listed as an amenity.

Yes, I would stay there again. I really enjoyed my stay at the Joke Hotel. It is an older hotel, but it has a lot of character. The hotel took excellent care of us. It is also close to the metro and attraction. I especially loved the treats they put out at 2 pm until 2 am. I called it my late night snack. I wish I took pictures of the set up, but it was very nice of them to do that.

I had previous reviews about the breakfast, but they did not do it justice! There were so many choices of breads, cheeses, fruits, juices, meats, and eggs and pancakes. So nice to eat hearty at my hotel before heading out for the day.
My only complaint is that i could hear the uostairs guest stomping around and when they flushed their toilet :(.

But, the room was the perfect size, the A/C worked well and the bedding was comfortable. If i ever get to return to Paris, i would stay here again.

I stayed overnight and left early so didn’t spend much time here but the place is decent in a good location. Don’t know if it’s common in hotels in Paris but there weren’t any cupboards - there was an area where I could hang my clothes though. Travelled multiple countries in Schengen area and for some reason my credit card didn’t work at this hotel. I was able to use my c.card at train stations and cafes in Paris. Also, didn’t receive a receipt for my cash transaction either. I didn’t have to use but they provide luggage storage facility as well.

Loved our stay.

Friendly helpful staff. Very clean. Amazing for 3* had tea/coffee/water AND coke and juice in the fridge for free and in the evening they had free cakes and biscuits with tea/coffee at reception. Great location - walk to opera house. Moulin rouge stones throw. Staff made the difference. Very clean. Would highly recommend and go back. Excellent value for price
