Loved this hotel! There is a parking lot- $20 per night, staff were very friendly and kind, the hotel was very clean, beds were comfortable and the rooms had a nice size fridge, stove And plenty of closet space. The hotel had a historic feel to it with unique doors and architecture. Only slight negative was the bathrooms were on the smaller side. I will definitely stay here again and highly recommend his hotel.

I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is in a perfect location, friendly staff, and I loved the non-carpeted spacious room with the kitchenette. The only issue I had and I did not like was being sent to the self check-in kiosk in the lobby after waiting in line and then still having to go back to the front desk and wait in line for my key, to give my driver's license, pay for parking, etc. It seemed like I was doing part of the front desk agent's job and not as convenient if you don't get the email link to do it online.

This is a lovely historic hotel close to the art and theatre district. Out room was clean but really needed an update. I understand it’s historic, but there were some soft spots on the floor in a couple of spots that were uncomfortable. The water in the shower was very touchy and unpredictable between to hot and too cold. The room temp was waaay to hot and there was no way to control the temp as it’s a steam coil on the wall situation. All we could do was “turn off the steam and you’re welcome to open the window”. Only one would open and it did not cool the room off much at all. UNTIL the next day, while we were out and then it REALLY cooled it down. Then there was no way to warm it back up because by then they must have gotten enough complaints about the heat so the whole system was off! So now the room is cold and no heat to warm it back up! The staff is friendly and helpful as they can be. Parking here is expensive and perilous. For a lovely as the hotel is, I think I’d skip the stay and visit the restaurant instead to see it.

This hotel is a hidden gem filled with old world vibes and clean comfortable rooms. I was truly surprised by the spacious room and well thought out amenities in the room.
The availability of easily accessible onsite parking at a reasonable rate was an added bonus to my stay as I was in and out of the hotel at odd hours.
I will definitely be staying here on any future trips to the area.

Problem was parking. We arrived later, around 7 PM and was told that the lot was full and we had to park on the street. It was snowing slippery and literally no street parking available. My wife told the person at the desk that we wanted our money back and we were leaving. He finally admitted there were a 1-2 places left in the lot and by the time I got to the lot it was the last open spot.
When I reserved the room I was told that I could not pre-reserve a parking spot.
The only way I would stay here again was if I could get to the hotel by 3-4 PM for a parking spot and take Ubers around town.

The room was clean. Check in was easy. Felt safe and quiet from outside noise. The walls are thin. The bed is hard and squeaks when you move. The pillows have no support and the sheets were scratchy. From what i could tell, no way to change the temperature in the room.

The front desk was attentive and the room was spacious and in a decent condition considering its age. However, there were a few things that affected what would have otherwise been a positive experience. Firstly, there was a strong odor of marijuana in the elevators and hallway that was especially apparent at night. Secondly, the soundproofing in the rooms is lacking, as I was woken up by my next door neighbors engaging in “activities” around 3am.

We appreciate many things about this stay. First is the historical beauty of the property, beautiful public spaces and rooms. The location to the downtown and Fiserv Forum brings us back each time. Friendly staff, and onsite food service at the Knick makes for a perfect stay. Separate fee for parking needs to be noted.

My room was sooooo cold! Only a light blanket on the bed. I ended up sleeping fully dressed in jeans and a sweater, even thought about putting on my coat!

Everything was clean and comfortable. Only nits, were 2 of 3 light bulbs in the bedroom ceiling fan were not screwed in until I screwed them in to get more light. Also left side of bathroom sink was shaking on its support, but not unexpectable in a hotel this old. However, it should be fixed. Room 727.

Room and staff were nice. Location is also great. But my room often stank from smells drifting in the window from a nearby restaurant.. This may however not be an issue in the Winter, because they remove the AC unit so you can properly close the windows. I stayed there at the very end of the Summer season. Was told that the AC unit would be removed during my stay so that I could completely close the window, however, this did not happen during my 3-night stay

I was amazed that our room had a stove, dishes, pots and pans, and a big old walk-in closet. The staff was incredibly friendly. The food options in downtown Milwaukee were a little sparse, but the knick, the attached restaurant, was open until 11:00 p.m. And always helped feed me after a long day at the convention. Next time I'm in Milwaukee, I will look to book here again.

All of the staff was super friendly and kind. Check in and check out was super seamless. Rooms are pretty underwhelming aesthetically- but for the price I wasn’t expecting the most lavish room. Cannot beat the location- lots of coffee shops and near to the lake and park and activities. I had a concert at Turner Hall & it’s only about a 4 minute drive away. There was quite a bit of siren noise at night and unfortunately someone’s car alarm went off at about 4:45AM & continued for a bit, waking me up, but also some noise is to be expected in the city. The bathroom wasn’t bad but the lighting is pretty dark. Room doors have a cool old-fashioned servidor feature that history buffs will appreciate like I did. Lobby was very clean and the area feels secure. Maintenance was coming around in the morning to work on the AC unit, around 10AM before checkout-it seemed a bit weird they would request to do that while a hotel guest is occupying the room, but they gladly said they could just come back after I checked out which was appreciated and probably just a one off. Parking was right next door to the hotel and only $20 for the night.

The historic hotel is in a great area of town. You can walk and take the public transit easily. I love the style of this hotel and it has history. My only issue is the hotel rooms. Have a conventional flair to it, which is kind of bland, not ultra modern and not part of the history of the hotel period. It almost felt like it was slapped together real quick.

I loved the location on Yankee Hill: quiet but still convenient to downtown Milwaukee. The Hotel is \"vintage,\" including some older facilities, hardware, and plumbing fixtures, thus it lacks some contemporary conveniences, but all is clean and well-kept.

We were excited to stay at the Knickerbocker due to the great location and photos in the listing, but had a very dirty air conditioning unit that appeared to have black mold visibly inside. We reported the condition to the front desk right away and were impressed with how quickly they addressed the problem by completely replacing the unit while we were away at dinner. The rest of the room seemed fairly clean but it had a musty smell.

I had a wonderful stay at the Knickerbocker Hotel. Check-in was quick and easy, and the entire property was very clean and well-kept. The room had a neat, old-fashioned charm, complete with actual keys, while still being very comfortable and cozy. The bed was excellent, and I appreciated the eco-friendly touches with large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soap instead of single-use plastics. Parking was very convenient with easy access to the lot. Overall, it was a great blend of vintage character and modern comfort—I would definitely stay again.
