Room needs a good clean, dust on light switches, light fixtures etc, established cobwebs in kitchen and bathroom and broken toilet roll holder and shower height adjuster. Great view, nice to get generous sized milk, good location, but room does need some maintenance.

Cool retro vibe and great place! Upstairs suite was perfect with the view and the outdoor seating.Close to all the restaurants and shops and art walk. Really nice place. Free laundry available was definitely a great bonus!

The shower wasn’t clean and empty shampoo and gel bottle still in the shower. Coffee/tea container was filthy, coffee spilt on bench so the feel of the place was not clean. Bed was ok but not made properly, no sheets were tucked in, just loose laid. Would not stay here again. The positive was that the restaurant at the front was great, lovely food and good friendly service but not the same owners as the motel.

Staff were lovely. Room looked nice but needed a deeper clean, dust under bed, marks on walls and some of the bedding. No kitchenette sink so washing cups in bathroom sink. Ironing board but no iron. It wasn't terrible but just lacked attention to detail

Check in staff friendly and efficient. Bed was comfortable and clean. Room was grubby, mould on back of curtains, cobwebs in bathroom, carpet not well vacuumed. Skirting boards and unit in bathroom dirty. Furniture in room was old and tatty. Reception was not open at 7.30 am when we left so I was not able to discuss with staff.

Some milk for a cuppa and some soap to wash hands (there was only a small body wash) would be good. These are basics.There was mold in the bathroom and no shelf in the shower or bathroom, so either use the floor or toilet seat! Noisy at night from restaurant kitchen. It was clean.

The room was tired, and was not seviced while we were there and for the last 18 hours of our stay we were without an adequate water supply due to inefficient water storage facilities. The police had to be called at 4am due to neighbours loud arguing and when we asked for some sort of compensation but was told we could receive a discount on the next stay.I was promised a phone call after the directors were informed but did not receive one. We would never again stay at Twin Peaks Taupo, even if you paid me.

We had a quick overnight stay as we were travelling south. The room was clean and well appointed. Plenty of hot water and the location close to the Jolly Good Fellows restaurant and bar was perfect for dinner. The staff were very engaging yet gave us a level of privacy.

Clean, well presented and comfortable kitchen/living/sleeping area. Bathroom had also been modernised except for the shower which was in need or refreshment and shower mixer tap was difficult to set the water temperature. Restaurant/ bar on site was very convenient and convivial, with a great veiw of sunset over the lake.

Room was not up to standard, dirty, old, bathroom was rundown, hot water tap wasn’t working properly. No parking near unit. Had to park far behind the building.
The unit shown on Expedia wasn’t exactly what was given to us.

Yes, the kitchen was fully equipped with an electrical stove but cooking wasn’t allowed for some reason. Windows were too small for the bedroom so airflow wasn’t adequate for three people sleeping in there with the door shut. It was very hot and stuffy.

For bed tv and AC needs. It was good, if ya get the extra room with 2 beds, no ac in there, but a window. Cleanliness, chips under the curtain. Wrappers under the bed.
Car parking is for the sedans and coupes.

Great stay, right across the road from the lake, it made going for a swim super easy. It was an easy walk to town for a meal and a few pints and air conditioning in the room to cool the hot summer night.
We could have gone to the bar on site for a drink and food. It looked very nice but we wanted to see more of the town. We loved the upstairs room because of the view.

Yes, the room was very dirty, the towels were badly folded, and the bathroom was really filthy. I'm not even sure if the room was cleaned, and it wasn't the room I paid $250 for on the website. I can't recommend anyone stay there.

The lady at the front desk was very friendly but we were disappointed that our rubbish wasnt cleared as it was advertised that this would be done. We also needed to ask for more towels as we stayed 3 nights. Room was spacious and shower had good pressure and the spa bath was nice. Air conditioning was good.

I was met with the most lovely lady who then came out of the reception to show me our room and car park, she was so warm and welcoming, lovely lady !
Our room was beautifully finished and decorated and exceptionally clean, super comfortable bed and pillows.
Highly recommend.
We had just arrived from Napier on a rd trip seeing family. We we're a little disappointed with the motel there which was supposed to be a good quality one, so we're not so easily promoted to write a good review.
Thank you for our lovely experience here, most definitely will rebook when we return March.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Room had an abundance of coffees and teas. Soap,tissues and towels provided.
The floors probably needed to be mopped as the floors were very dirty. There was no toilet roll holder. Also no iron in the room.
There was no available parking but reception was kind enough to arrange an alternative spot.

The good - The motel is in a great location close to the CBD. The room we had was clean and tidy.
The bad - I had made a booking for a room with 2 beds. When we checked in I was handed the keys for a room with just 1 bed. Not suitable for the 2 of us. I went back to reception to complain.

I was treated extremely rudely by the lady at reception. Who blamed me for doing a wrong booking and I had got the room I asked for. When I showed her the proof, that I had requested 2 beds on my receipt. She got very stroppy with me and said that was the room I was to take. She was raising her voice at me and accusing me of being wrong.

She than phoned her manager and he told me that Expedia had made the mistake in not passing the information across to them. They would give me a full refund, but I would be forced to find alternate accommodation. That was an unacceptable solution.

The lady at reception continue to speak to me in a rude and loud manner and was completely unreasonable for someone in customer service. After finishing speaking to her manager. She continue to push the line that it was Expedia fault, but offered no solutions other than I could check into another hotel and they would tell Expedia to give me a full refund.

I suggested that even if they had a camp stretcher that would work as it was just for 1 night as we were passing through. She was completely unreasonable and told us no. In the end one of us had to sleep on the sofa chair. Not good for what I paid

Room very dated and in need modern update.
Paint was peeling off the walls. Shower was very dated and uninviting that we didn’t use it. Old fashioned rose head in the shower. We paid twice as much for this motel as others were fully booked but do not expect to be staying in a very basic motel unit. Tea and coffee supplies were at best minimal and not appetising. Could get TV to work. Only good thing was the bed was really good with good linen. Cleanliness was really good

I felt the shower was a bit dangerous as it was a high step up / down. The water was very hot but I had a near burn because the mixer on the shower was hard to know which way was hot or cold.
A vacuum under the bed was needed. Very clean and comfortable beds .

The staff were extremely helpful as we locked out keys in our car, so allowed us to use a downstairs unit while waiting for a locksmith to come this made our departure less stressful as it was pouring down with rain as well

Basic room but sufficent for only the 1 night we were there. Neigbouring bar/pub was noisy but it was Friday night. Floor was sticky, we think more so from the cleaning product that had been used rather than something that had been spilt. Staff were good, ringing us and advising about the key pick up for our late arrival.

Twin Peaks Lakeside Inn is in a good location with water views of the lake. The Mangaers were pleasant and delt with a couple of issues obligingly and quickly.
The cleanliness of the room could of been better as all table surfaces were dirty.
Shower is quite high up off the ground so would be difficult for elderly to get in an out of safely as there are no handles to hold on to. The shower base was also extremely slippery.
There is also laundry facility which is free to use.

A little tired in room appearance but still comfortable...Great that a pub/Restaurant is located at the front of the property and lake across the road. On the negatives, was a shame that the bin hadn't been emptied, tea / coffee area was a little low and was awoken to argumentative neighbors around 11.30pm. Minor things that I'm sure can be rectified.
