We love visiting these spa pools every time we visit Taupo. So staying at the resort was an easy choice. Easy check in and out, quick walk to the pools and back. Room is clean, wifi's good. Enough space to park directly outside of the room. We've also stayed at the Hilton next door which has a fab pool. This is a great alternative if you want to save a it of cash.

The cabin we booked was perfectly tidy, comfortable and had everything we needed. I thought the toilets and shower block were the standout. Lovely and clean and warm showers. Great for a campground.

Clean Cabin. Main bed was comfy but the bunk bed mattress was very thin. The pool and mineral spa area was amazing and just what we needed after a long day of driving. Staff were very friendly, especially the blonde lady this morning who gave me some great tips for places to see along our next days journey.

So upon arrival to Cabin 12 we were greeted with what looked like a well presented cabin. When inside we notice that a screw is poking out of the drawers ( the sharp end). We had children with us so we had to try and take the screw out to prevent anyone getting scratched.
The door to the main bedroom was missing and instead there was a raised piece of broken plastic on the floor which had to be avoided.
We noticed at this point a couple of cockroaches, which we thought was normal for a campsite as we have come across some on our travels.
So we proceeded to enjoy the pool activities which we had a fantastic time in the pool area.
Back to the cabin we encountered another couple of cockroaches but again tried not to let it get in the way.
Until later in the evening it got worse..... Alot worse. As soon as the sun went down it was like they came out with vengeance. Now we've stayed in a lot of places and come across the odd one here and there but this cabin had loads. They were running up on the chairs we were sitting on. Running on the fridge, the counter tops. On the walls of where the bunk beds are.
At this point the reception was closed so we called out of hours. Granted due to the time it was, there wasn't alot that could be done. Or could there? surely there should be some sort of contingency for properties where an issue arises. We were handed a spray (which I wasn't going to use with children in the cabin). This looks like an infestation not the odd one.

We stay in a cabin which supplied 3 cups, 3 drinking glasses, 3 wine glasses which is great however although there was 3 knives, forks and spoons I just could not get my head around that there were no plates! I asked at the reception and they said because it does not have a kitchenette there is no plates. The shared kitchen had nothing supplied either and I dont recall this was mentioned anywhere when I booked.

The view of the lake was awesome and when the sky was clear you could see Mt ruapehu from our lodging. The heated floor was a bonus for the winter chill and the beds were nice and soft. Town was down the road and family activities were close by. Was an amazing time for me and my family.

Super convenient location near hot pools. We booked the cheapest cabin (without bathroom). It was perfectly located between reception and the amenities block, so everything was close. The check in staff was friendly and helpful. The room had a fantastic heat pump that kept the room lovely and warm on a cold night. The curtains blocked out the light really well.
The only the negative - and the reason I won’t stay again - is because this room had zero sound proofing with the adjoining unit. We could hear word-for-word our neighbour’s phone conversation and TV when we went to bed, and were woken at 5.45am when she spent an hour thudding about 3,000 steps around the room, opening and shutting drawers and doors. Even our drink bottle sitting on the table was rattling when she walked around. I’m a light sleeper and I needed a decent sleep before doing a 3 hour drive, so the lack of soundproofing ruined an otherwise great stay.
The only the negative - and the reason I won’t stay again - is because this room had zero sound proofing with the adjoining unit. We could hear word-for-word our neighbour’s phone conversation and TV when we went to bed, and were woken at 5.45am when she spent an hour thudding about 3,000 steps around the room, opening and shutting drawers and doors. Even our drink bottle sitting on the table was rattling when she walked around. I’m a light sleeper and I needed a decent sleep before doing a 3 hour drive, so the lack of soundproofing ruined an otherwise great stay.

It’s a little run down and could do with some work on cabins. My first cabin smelt like rotten milk. Luckily the lady on reception was really nice and changed me to a new one. Showers and toilets nice. Staff nice in general. Just a little run down.

We were booked in the 2-bedroom chalet. It was spacious with a seperate toilet and shower. The place was clean but dated. The sink did not have space to place toiletries, a porper vanity would have served better. Note there are no working heaters in the bedrooms so we needed to leave the bedroom doors open so that the heat from the heatpump in the lounge could flow in and warm the rooms. The staff were polite enough but didn't go out of their way to help. There was no hot chocolate provided, not sure if they ran out (it was very busy at the site) but the staff didn't bother with any help or explanation when asked if they had any. The hot pools were nice, our little one enjoyed it. Im not sure I would use it again as there were bits floating in it and it just felt unhygienic.

We stayed in a lodge and parking was just next to it. Bery easy for loading and unloading our staff. We left luggage for storage and picked them up after our visit to Tongariro National Park with no issue. The common area in the lodge is a little bit small for five adults to move around, but the rooms and number od beds are OK.

Excellent 4 night stay in 2 Bed Chalet. Room service was unexpected but very welcomed. Waterpark was open from 08:00 to 20:30 so great for dipping in and out around other trips. Discounted rate for customers but would have made sense for the option of a Pass to tie in with length of visit, but minor irritation. Overall totally recommended!

Stayed for just one night with our kids aged 8 & 10 in a self-contained cabin right across from the playground with the trampoline, which was awesome. Just a few steps away was the giant bouncing pillow which the kids loved. The cabin was comfortable enough, though you can definitely see the wear and tear from over the years. It was great being able to walk to the spa/water park area, though given how small they are and that they're under renovation (1 pool and 1 of the hydroslides were closed), I feel like paying overnight guests should be able to go for free or get a larger discount. Overall we enjoyed our stay but there are definitely things that could be updated/improved on the property in future.
