Elevator was broken - had to lug 2x large suitcases up 2 flights of stairs.
If there was.an option to put us on the 1st floor it should have been investigated.....even if it meant that they had to swallow a free upgrade

Best to view on Google map some indications on how to locate hotel. Coming from Lisbon watch for bus stops on both side just before bend in the road tucked just behind bus stop on right is entrance WOT sign. There was breakfast but we left earlier than 8:30. They were setting up at 8 it would have been a nice touch to be offered pastries to go. Room was comfortable although some guests were noisy getting to their room. No fault of hotel.

Very charming hotel. Fun room at the reception floor with sitting areas, pool table, piano, books and games. There’s a small bar there open until midnight. Would be a great place for a group of people to stay. It’s about 6 Kas out of Sintra towards the beaches.

Had a difficult time to get hot water in the morning in spite of confirmation during the reservation. Eventually got hot water from Anna in cafeteria who also kindly provided all of tourist attraction parking tips.The room we stayed has a beautiful tranquilent garden with s spacious balcony.

Amazing location near Sintra in the countryside

Amazing place to stay near Sintra in a quiet area, amazing garden. The hotel has a pool table, a little kids area, electric bike rental. The breakfast was very convenient. The rooms are spacious, a little bit old but very clean. We stayed with our 3 kids and we found the place very kids friendly. There is no restaurant on site but there is a grocery near the hotel and the staff can heat your meal with pleasure.

An enjoyable stay.

This hotel is clean and comfortable but not luxurious. The staff are friendly and helpful, most of them speak English. The bedroom was quite spacious, the bed comfortable and very clean, as was the shower room with plenty of hot water. The room did not have a fridge or a safe. Breakfast was a buffet. There was no hot food but plenty of choice of cold cuts, cheese, cereals, bread etc. It is quiet with nice views of Sintra and the surrounding villages.

Long story short, we were enjoying our honeymoon in Portugal and accidentally book this hotel for the wrong dates. I think it wasn’t more than 5 minutes when I asked for a date change it was the week before, and they denied. I decided to keep the reservation because in the end I paid for the service but I think they could’ve done better.

Beautiful location in the mountains and great amenities for kids in the main room. Lovely breakfast and friendly staff. The bedrooms were missing basic amenities (like electric kettle), which made it inconvenient. Location is also not convenient for Sinatra main attractions.

This property is lovely and located in a quiet part and hilly terrain of Colares. Please be aware that Expedia will charge you an extra fee for a child despite of the business does not charge a fee for a child. In our stay we were charged 70 Euros extra. You must have a car to star stay here because the nearest shopping and restaurants are about 5 to 10 minutes away by car. Not good for walking around the property because of a busy and up Hill road. Staff are very nice and professional. The self service buffet is very good. They also served soya milk on request for free. There was a very nice small bottle of Portuguese wine and free bottle of water in our room. Thank you!

Ideal for visiting the area.

A good hotel for visiting the surrounding area. The rooms/bathrooms are a little tired but everything was clean, everything you needed was in the rooms and fab air conditioning. Breakfast was a good buffet and the staff were all helpful and friendly. Evening meal on one night was also very good and excellent value. I would be happy to stay here again.

One night stay outside of Sintra

We booked the hotel for one night to allow us an early start visiting the touristic sites in Sintra. Getting there absolutely requires a car, and even with a GPS it was not easy to find (winding roads which confused the system). The hotel needs a much more prominent sign which can easily be seen from the road. The woman at reception was very friendly and helpful, and the room was fine. Their restaurant was closed (Sunday night & chef's night off) so families arriving had to drive back to a nearby village or to the beach to get something to eat. The area around the hotel is lovely, However, the location is not practical if your main objective is Sintra.

Traveling with my adult daughter and we stayed one night here while exploring Sintra. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful - and if you have a car it’s a nice somewhat rural location. The property itself is a strange mix however of feeling somewhat institutional and the furnishings in our junior suite were definitely tired. Other rooms might have been more pleasant. The breakfast was really nice. We also drove less than ten minutes and had a great seafood meal at a nearby beach. Overall the hotel is a good value.

A charming find in the countryside near Sintra

Everything about Sarrazola House was lovely and charming. The young woman at reception provided tons of useful information about what to do in Sintra, the room was perfect and opened onto a beautiful garden, wine upon arrival was a nice touch, and breakfast was good. While it's a little past Sintra (from Lisbon) we really liked driving through the hilly area and seeing the small villages and the old-fashioned tram that serves the area. The price was very reasonable, too. I highly recommend staying here.

We love it

At the price we got, it was wonderful! A big king-sized bed for two of us to spread out, all wonderful and in working condition facilities. Truly did not expect such a nice stay at this price point. Although it is quite further away from the city centre and all the tourist attractions. The view from the hotel is amazing too :)

Very nice hotel if you have a car

I had a beautiful room with balcony (a free upgrade) where I stayed 2 nights. It is within 10 km of Sintra and closer to 2 nice beaches. It is not recommended to drive to Sintra because it is very crowded and parking is difficult. On each of two days I drove to one of the beaches (Praia das Maças), parked for free and either took a bus to Sintra for 3,3 euros or the spectacular ride on a 1904 tram that travels at a very low speed, it takes 40 minutes to get there, but it is quite an experience for 2 euros.

The hotel serves an excellent continental buffet breakfast with lots of choices, on one day they even had bacon and eggs.

The hotel is very modern with all the room amenities one can wish for. It is perfectly clean, the staff is pleasant and quite helpful. I rated it a 5 on all points.

Lovely Gardens in a Peaceful Setting

My friends and I met up at this charming little hotel for a week of castle hikes and garden walks. Andrea and Lioda were both helpful and kind. It is out of the way which we preferred, but the 403 is an inconsistent bus. Uber worked well and cabs. You can't count on the hotel shuttles. The hot water was a small problem 2 days, but fine otherwise. Breakfast was just perfect especially on the terrace. It was a great deal when combined with my air ticket.

Nice place, beautiful view, close to sea; but not walking distance. You'd better have a car if you want to enjoy Sintra late evening, because the last bus from train Station departs at 19:10, after this you can use only taxi; same if you'd like to go to sea view point. Bus stop is in front of hotel. Actually there is car rent at Sintra Train Station. Staff is very friendly; breakfast was included and was good; wine (probably instead of chocolate) in the evening was great. if you miss/want to enjoy quiet evenings in rural area, this hotel is for you

Don't stay here if you want to visit Sintra

This hotel lists itself as Sintra but it isn't-it is in Colares-the neiboring town. If you want to visit Sintra stay in Sintra for a few more dollars. This hotel cost an average amount-I paid half because of an Expedia points discount but it is a 15-20 min drive from Sintra and there is nothing to do there in the evening-even the hotel restaurant is closed except for breakfast. The hotel staff are nice but it isn't worth the price I paid. The wifi was very weak in the room and didn't work well and the balcony was nice but smelled like cats. Not a pleasant smell. They did leave us a complimentary water and wine and there was free parking but I would recommend staying elsewhere.

Decent in general but not greatest 3* been to

I stayed at this hotel for four nights recently. Firstly I arrived to be told they overbooked and the garden views suite I booked and paid for upfront over a month before was not available even though I paid 60£ per night which is quite a bit for a 3 star in the middle of nowhere. I was given a suite with car park views, ok fine they made an effort to sort me out so appreciate that. They have no iron so if you have any formal dinners you need to get the maid to iron for you in advance. The main amenities are great, tv, air con etc. I slept ok except one morning woke up with little bites on my arms and hand which are now little red welts and a blister. No idea what they are. The restaurant is good, decent continental breakfast.

Bit difficult to find in rain at night but staff made us very welcome and extended dining service to provide excellent meal when we arrived late.
Stayed second night and found restaurant fully booked when we got back late afternoon. Again staff excelled in providing a full in room meal.

Lo más destacable el desayuno tipo buffet, con muchas opciones,y la atención de la persona que lo suele llevar.
No se puede ir a pie al pueblo ( Colares) porque está en una carretera sin acera para peatones . Las playas están a pocos km en coche del alojamiento. Y se puede ir a Sintra ,Cascais ,Estoril o Lisboa en poco tiempo en coche.
El hotel presenta signos de los años ( muchos) que tiene el edificio y hay poco personal para su mantenimiento y limpieza
Nos quedamos sorprendidos que en la mini cafetería que hay no tuvieran ni una sola Cocacola ( o similar) para vender.. y el agua mineral además de cara no estaba fría y nos dieron un vaso con cubitos de hielo . Podrían mejorar también la calidad y el estado de las toallas .

Hotel WOT Sintra leider nicht empfehlen!
Das Hotel ist ziemlich abgelebt, Schimmelflecken im Bad und die Einrichtung altbacken. Dazu war das Frühstück total enttäuschend. Nur das billigste vom Billigen. Keine Eier, keine gute Auswahl an Produkten. Dazu ein Service der lieber am Handy spielt statt die Tische abzuräumen oder ausgegangene Produkt nachzufüllen.
Krönung: Im Bad hängt zwar ein Schild bezüglich der Handtücher aber das Zimmermädchen hat die Handtücher täglich gewechselt obwohl sie aufgehängt waren. Das Bett wurde nicht gemacht. Wir werden sicher kein zweites mal hier einkehren!

O hotel está bastante degradado, com manchas de mofo no banheiro e móveis antigos. O café da manhã também foi totalmente decepcionante. Era o mais barato dos baratos. Sem ovos, sem uma boa seleção de itens. E o pessoal da recepção preferiu ficar jogando no celular a limpar mesas ou repor itens que faltavam.

Para piorar a situação: há uma placa no banheiro sobre toalhas, mas a camareira as trocava diariamente, mesmo que estivessem penduradas. A cama não estava arrumada. Certamente não voltaremos aqui!

Très bien comme hôtel, l’autobus pour visiter Sintra se prend devant l’hôtel et pour 2.60 euros vous dépose dans le centre-ville même. Colares est un petit village et le choix des restaurants était restreint. La tranquillité des jardins de l’hôtel nous a permis de nous remettre du décalage horaire...

Hotellet är i en gammal charmig byggnad. Entrén och receptionen (tillika frukostmatsalen) rymlig men enkel. Rummet var enkelt, rent och ok sängar. Tyvärr mycket fuktigt i rummet, mögeldoft, och stort behov av renovering. En ung kille som tog emot oss i receptionen, var nog där för att ingen annan kunde jobba… han gjorde bara det han var tillsagd att göra…:) Personalen f.ö. var mycket trevliga och hjälpsamma. Lite svårt att hitta dit bland höga kullar och mycket krokiga och bitvis smala vägar.

Location difficile à trouver car il n’y a pas de numéro de rue. GPS d’aucune aide. Lit de très mauvaise qualité...comme couché sur une banquette de bois. Douche minuscule et ne convenant pas à quelqu un pesant plus de cent livres. Restaurant fermé un samedi soir !!! Chaises sur le balcon frêles et prêtes à fléchir.

Lit de camp à l’hôtel

L’hôtel est en fait une école hôtelière ( ce n’est précise nulle part sur les sites internet).
Il est perdu au milieu de nulle part, pas de chouette resto dans les environs et l’hotel Ne fait Resto que le mardi et jeudi sur le temps de midi.
Arrivée à l’hôtel l’hotesse nous demande de payer pour notre nuit alors que nous avions déjà payé en ligne. Ensuite elle nous a demandé de payer la taxe pour 2 nuits, nous n’en passions que une.
Arrivée dans la chambre, le lit d’appoint est un lit de camp, avec un matelas digne d’une natte. Scandaleux !
Les photos sur le site sont très bien faites mais la réalité est toute autre, mal entretenus et entouré de décharges.
Seul point positif: le petit déjeuner délicieux et bien fournis.

Bussi yhteydestä historialliseen keskustaan saisi olla paremmin infoa hotellin sivuilla. Tai minä en huomannut. Paikan päällä kysymällä asiaan tuli valaistusta.

Service et chambre très négligé - a éviter

Nous sommes arrivés dans la chambre, nous avons trouvé un produit nasale dans la poubelle. Les tables de nuit étaient sales et nous avons trouve des insectes dans la salle de bain. Nous sommes restés deux nuits et nous avons très mal dormi (insonorisation très mediocre) nous avons entendu le son des machines à laver et lors de la dernière nuit nous avons été réveillés à 1h30 par l'alarme incendie. Lors du Check out nous avons expliqué toutes ces choses (avec vidéos comme preuve pour les insectes) et la personne de la réception nous a répondu (sans avoir l'air étonné) qu'elle \"ne pouvait rien faire et qu'il fallait qu'on revienne car ça sera peut être mieux la prochaine fois.\" Évidemment nous ne reviendrons pas et nous ne recommandons pas cet hôtel.

Séjour agréable mais des éléments à corriger

Hôtel agréable et à 15 mn en voiture des principaux sites de Sintra et 5 mn de la plage. La chambre et la salle de bains étaient très propres et bien conçus. Nous avons apprécié le lit très large. Très gentil accueil de la réceptionniste du soir. La bouteille d'eau à disposition était également la bienvenue.
Pour les moins, l'ascenseur était en panne, ainsi que le distributeur de café pour le petit déjeuner. Le dimanche matin, alors qu'il y avait une forte affluence au petit déjeuner, il n'y avait qu'une personne pour préparer les cafés et autres boissons chaudes et pour réapprovisionner les différents éléments du petit déjeuner (croissants, jambon…)

No alcanzó las expectativas que teníamos.

Lo que más nos gustó fue la posibilidad de poder aparcar el coche gratis en la puerta del hotel y la terraza de la habitación con vistas a un bonito jardín y a la montaña.
Lo que menos: uno de los días, volvimos al hotel por la tarde, sobre las 16:30 y aún no habían hecho la habitación; no cambiaron las sábanas ni las toallas ningún día, ni tampoco los geles de ducha por lo que no tuvimos suficiente al habernos duchado los dos días que estuvimos alojados en el hotel. Mobiliario un poco deteriorado y habitación un poco sucia.

Quartos velhos e pequenos,
Banheiros horríveis!!!
Além de tudo é longe de Sintra, ou contrário do que indicava o site.
Foi uma péssima experiência, com certeza no guém da eqioe de vcs nunca esteve lá..

A quiet stay in a lovely country house

Charming area and guest house, very welcoming and helpful staff.
Although rooms are a little old, comfort is there.
The breakfast buffet needs a strong improvement to match the overall quality of the hotel and of the Portuguese food culture.
But we could stay there again as we had a pleasant and quiet stay in this beautiful green area not far from Sintra.
(Try the “electrico” tramway accross the area, it is lovely)

Habitación pequeña y necesita renovación.

Las fotos y vídeos del hotel no se corresponde con la habitación q nos dieron. Instalación y mobiliario viejisimos. El baño huele mal y la bollería del desayuno no es reciente.
