Sintra Marmòris Palace is an eclectic and charming private house built in the 1890s which was lovingly restored by a family that for generations has been working in the marble stone industry. Reopened in May 2017 as a local lodgement.

Offering nine individually appointed guest rooms, divided in two buildings, It was clearly built to take full advantage of the breathtaking scenic views and natural gardens of Sintra, region that was claimed as World Heritage by UNESCO. Surrounded by 14 000 square meters of private gardens, it is perfect to explore the wooded hiking trails, read a book, relax listening to the echo of birds or enjoying the heated pool with a stunning view over Sintra's hill.   Based inside of the protected Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, It has panoramic views over the mourish castle and is just a 7-minute walk from the historical centre of Sintra.

This place was amazing, from the fabulous rooms to the friendly, attentive staff who couldn’t do enough for you. Patricia, Mariana, Anna, Ines and Andeeia went above and beyond our expectations. In all our travels we have never experienced this level of hospitality, from the free wine & cheese evening (with occasional entertainment) to the immaculate room cleaning. Add in a family of peacocks and you couldn’t ask for a better place to stay, the perfect place to explore Lisbon, Sintra and its surrounding towns. We will definitely visit again.

The staff here is so lovely and caring. We truly enjoyed our stay, and the staff made all the difference. We also loved the property. It is so beautiful and luxurious. The location is great, next to the city, yet far enough that it is very quiet, with a beautiful view on the town. My children loved feeding the peacocks who love to roam around and hang by the entrance. Wonderful stay!

We had a fantastic week’s holiday in Sintra. The hotel was perfectly located for a stroll into town and easy access the great restaurants, cafes and the sights of Sintra. Brill ice cream from Mica’s just outside the hotel. Easy train ride to Lisbon and the beach for day trips.

The staff were very helpful and excellent service in particular Joao. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast full of choice everyday ready for hikes and touring about.

We loved our stay here. The property is serene and beautiful, and the room was unique, comfortable and clean. Lara, Anna and a few others from the breakfast staff were amazing to our children and so helpful in accommodating our trip. We would love to visit again - will just note there is some inflexibility from upper management / ownership when it comes to emergency cancellations (as experienced by others on our trip), so please note based on your travel plans. Amazing property in a fabulous location. The property grounds and views were gorgeous. Delicious breakfast and lovely (included) wine and cheese every evening at 6pm. The only small downside is the shower situation - some rooms do not have an actual standing shower (just the handheld). If that is important to you, make sure to request a room that has one.

The pictures online of this property don’t do it’s beauty justice. The entire property is amazingly maintained all the staff are welcoming and friendly. There was wine and cheese every evening and the breakfast every morning was delicious. The property was close enough to Sintra to easily walk to town but a little bit removed to offer quiet relaxation on the terrace or by the pool. Since it is a small boutique style hotel it never felt crowded. We definitely recommend.

Gorgeous property! Our first stay, but we have stayed at their sister resort (Marmoris Palace) several times. As is the standard for all Marmoris properties, decadently appointed rooms with the most lavish customs drapery, bedding, and furnishings. And of course, gorgeous marble everywhere! Excellent location with full access to the serene grounds of Marmoris Palace and the pool, as well as evening wine and cheese with entertainment (including their lovely peacocks!) Very gracious service. Highly recommend this hotel!

Every room is different and beautiful. We were there to attend a wedding and three groups of us have rooms. They were all unique and charming. This boutique hotel is a former private residence and is absolutely gorgeous. The staff can't do enough for you. The included breakfast is made to order and at 6 in the evening there is a wine & cheese hour, sometimes with entertainment. During our three night stay there was a magician doing some card tricks one evening and a Fado preformance another. The grounds are beautiful too and there's several resident peackocks strutting their stuff. I have no hesitation recommending this gem of a place.

One of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed. I would come back to Sintra for the sole purpose of staying here. The attention to detail is amazing and the rooms are over the top fantastic. We were in room 2 and it’s mindblowingly beautiful. Loved the grounds, the peacocks, and breakfast. The staff is very accommodating and let us keep our car there after checkout so we could tour the sights during the day. Close enough to walk to places to eat, and there are some excellent places close by. Highly recommend

Stay at the palace

This was the most amazing place we have stayed at. From the beautiful drive fron Lisbon to Sintra, the gates upon arrival, checking in and receiving the cute key. The rooms are unlike anything you will be in, the grounds were magical to wonder around. The breakfast in the morning with the peacocks in the yard. We cant say enough about our stay here.

Breakfast is included, but that is the only dining option. We found a few options for fine dining in Sintra. Would definitely stay there again. There is a lot to do in the town.

I had high expectations about this place and paid fairly handsomely for a one night stay. But I was overall disappointed. My wife is disabled and there were no dedicated disabled parking spaces close to reception. It’s a hilly site so I had to drop her near reception and head down the hill to park the car. The room was spacious but the decor was bizarre; felt very 1970s with a strange variegated marble “Greek temple” creation hiding the wash basin. Great shower. Very large bed with decent pillows. But breakfast didn’t start until 8am and we had to leave by 9am to get to the airport. After a bit of persuasion they agreed to 7.45 - because we weren’t having anything cooked. I would have expected an earlier breakfast option for this level of expense. Gardens looked nice but didn’t get a chat explore as weather was ugly.

Gorgeous properties and rooms!!!John went above and beyond at checkin when I arrived exhausted late at night offering a cheese plate and wine as I hone had dinner!
I was disappointed that I had not been given a room in the main building as the reviews said every room had an incredible view, but the rooms in the secondary building do not have a view.
Also my room had a lovely patio and a full kitchen. At check in I did not pick up the fact that there was a full kitchen bc it is locked behind a wall!! This would be perfect for a group of friends or family.
Also first night I froze bc I did not know how to work the heat remote .
All that being said the property , and view from the breakfast room are stunning. I would definitely like to stay here again but would like to be in the main building.

Beautiful views, fantastic staff and a wide variety of breakfast options.

The location was excellent, tranquil but within walking distance of restaurants and the historic centre of Sitra.

Our room was very comfortable and both luxurious and well thought out. We enjoyed coming back to the hotel to relax after a busy day exploring and slept well.

Thank you we would recommend the hotel and return in future.

Beautiful property! Was a treat to stay here. We were in a separate building from the palace but just adjacent and easily accessible to the main building for breakfast and use of swimming pool. The staff were very nice and helpful, especially Maria during our stay. She gave us a tour of the property, helped us with dining plans etc. We didn’t make it to the Fado show but the magician was a big hit with my family.
The room was large and very comfortable. A curtain needed to be pulled while showering as it was all in the same space, but that didn’t bother us.
The location was great as you could walk into town and several times we walked back from the palaces back to the hotel.

This property is stunning. It was previously a mansion and has been restored and impeccably maintained. It it spacious with beautiful chandeliers and marble floors. The surroundings are beautiful too. Looking out to the green hills and castles while eating a delicious prepared breakfast every day was rejuvinating. It is located in a convenient spot. Easy to walk places or you can catch the nearby train.

Spectacular choice! Beautiful everything!

What a find! I felt like I was traveling with my mother, who always picked the most elegant hotels! I wish we had more time to enjoy the grounds and the super special peacocks that wandered around. But Charlie did give us quite a show! Service and breakfast were excellent as well.

Loved our stay!!!!

WOW!!! What else is there to say! We were a family of 4 traveling with another family of 3 and the rooms we got were amazing! We felt like royalty! Our friends had a huge chandelier in their bathroom with an enormous bathtub! Just stunning! Our room we gorgeous and spacious with beautiful touches, like a beautiful gold mirror that was also a TV. The staff was amazing and there was wine tasting in the evening with cheese and bread, we sat outside and enjoyed the views of the castles while our kids swam in the pool below. We ended up enjoying the wine tasting and views that we purchased 2 bottles and sat outside until late night! Such a great experience and delicious breakfast in the morning!

Lovely and comfortable

Maria, Laura and Anna made our stay enjoyable and perfect. Great breakfasts, wine and cheese happy hours with Fado musical entertainment in the evening and easy location to walk into town and to the sites. We loved our relaxing visit—including the peacocks on property!

Gorgeous villa and grounds. Best breakfast of our 2 weeks in Portugal. The lock to the entryway of our lodging was broken and not repaired while we we were there. Also, the shower hot water was not warm enough.

The Sensational Sintra Experience!

The Palace was one of the highlights of our week long trip in Portugal. The views were spectacular. The staff was exceptional. The food was fantastic. This is definitely the place to stay for a trip to Sintra. We couldn't have hoped for a better experience.

Just magical

The hotel was amazing. We were able to check in early and enjoy coffee with the peacocks in the garden. The grounds are worth exploring. The pool is heated, so swimming is available all year round. The staff is amazing; so kind and helpful. The wine and cheese at 6pm is a not miss. I would go back in a second. We stayed on the 3rd floor and faced the garden. It is worth the view.

Second visit, hoping for a third.

This was the aecond time my son and I visited the Marmoris, and the return visit after three years was better than the first. It remains a beautiful, luxurious and elegant property, very conveniently situated in old Sintra.

A very nice stay

The room is nice and the garden is very beautiful. The view from dinning room terrace is super. We have our own little terrace with outdoor shower and kitchen. The breakfast is nice, and cheese and wine in the evening is very good. There was even a fado show. I would give it 10 but there was no hot water on the 2nd night. We had to shower in cold water. There was something wrong with the gas heater. Otherwise, it would be a pefect stay.

\"EXEMPLARY\"

This is a stunning property that is immaculately maintained. The staff are very helpful and go above and beyond any normal service. It is small and has a very relaxed atmosphere. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and lovely to stroll around. On our last evening, they hosted a night with appetizers, wine and \"Fado\" performers for all of the guests. If any food/drink item on the table ran low it was immediately replaced even though there were only 15 guests at the time and most had their fill. The breakfast was excellent and at a level commensurate with the overall experience. We would highly recommend and will stay again in the future.

The property consists of a newly rebuilt and decorated Chalet and the House of Falésia. The decoration is inspired by maritime and nautical motifs, with several decorative pieces harmonized with this theme.

The House of Falésia has common rooms. The navigators' room complements the maritime decoration, with a game table, television and various sofas; and the caravel room is the dining room where breakfast is served.

All stays include a continental breakfast with some sweet treats traditional from Sintra, being served either in the dining area or in the lodgings for greater privacy. A daily cleaning of the rooms is included throughout the stay.

One of the most exuberant common areas is the four-level garden: on level 1 there is a rock garden with native plants from the Sintra area completing the parking lot area; on level 0 there is a waterfall and hot tub with an endless view of the ocean; in level -1, the continuation of the native plants and rock garden, as well as an area of relaxation with chairs towards the outlook of the sea.
