Cute boutique hotel. They were working on restoring hot water when I arrived, at 9pm there was loud drilling just outside my villa. After that, staff was nowhere to be found for the next two days - although their mobile no. is left in the room.

Stay was great, we were slightly delayed receiving the room but we were provided keys and our luggage was stored and put into the room for when we came back. Checkout was early so we were able to leave the keys on the counter and leave through the side door which locked behind us. Free parking was available in the lot across the street.

When we arrive, the door of the second bathroom was broken and could not close. Managers tried to move us to 1BR1BA apartment which was too small for 3 of us. We stayed in the original room and used one bathroom without a door. We tried to contact managers to ask for discount for this problem but had no response.

At the end of the stay, the management hit me up for an extra 20 euros for using the sofa bed. Mind you, I booked for myself and my son, so obviously we would use the extra bed. I had to ask for bedding on arrival and nothing was said until the end.
So that was both surprise/hidden billing as well as nickel and diming, because I've never been charged for using a sofa bed before. Not anywhere.
Although they honored my VIP-Platinum status for early check in, I was also supposed to get a bottle of wine because of VIP and that wasn't there.
The kindest way to describe it is the back office/management is confused; the unkind way you can probably guess, but I will leave that unsaid.

We had a tremendous stay at the Storytellers Villas. We cannot recommend this location highly enough. We stayed in the two bedroom room, and it was the perfect amount of space; our nine year old was thrilled to have her own room and bathroom.
We had the pleasure of being served by Bowani who is not only the housekeeper, but also the receptionist, and the server at breakfast. Obrigada, Bowani! You are a gem.
Breakfast was a great selection of breads, croissants, ham, cheese, yogurt and hot beverages. All you need!

It’s not a modern property but we preferred the roominess of having 2 bedrooms and close to many restaurants. There is a great little coffee shop next door with delicious pastries we went to every day!

The housekeeper was the only redeeming quality of this hotel. When I booked, I only wanted to look at hotels with air-conditioning. This hotel said it had air conditioning, but when I checked in, I had a fan. I found out only one unit actually has air conditioning and the rest don’t. Also, the armoire in the bedroom smelled like mildew as did the bathroom. Too many red flags with this place.

The room was nice and quaint. The lady who checked us in knew little English but was really nice. We missed breakfast one day because we didn't know it was coming. The next day the nice lady delivered breakfast in picnic basket. It was nice. We parked for free in the lot across the street. Problem was no one told us a street market happens in that parking lot on Sunday. Our rental car was surrounded by venders. The police had to get involved to help us get out of the parking lot. It was stressful. Be aware.

We were intentionally downgraded to an inferior room, as the management felt we got too good of a deal on the booking site we used to book. We booked and paid for two nights in a one bedroom unit with kitchen. We were checked into a studio with a tiny fridge and nowhere to place luggage. Upon addressing this with the staff, they offered to move us but it was too late at night and was not suitable as we had already settled in and were busy with plans.

We loved the Storytellers Villas. The location in Sintra was perfect for us, with the bus stop right across the plaza. Our villa had 2 rooms and 1 bathroom with plenty of hot water for washing dishes and showering at the same time. The beds were firm but not uncomfortable with plenty of pillows and extra blankets. The floors were wood with floor runners. The son of the owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The house keeper had breakfast, continental, ready between 8:30 and 8:45 daily. Our rooms were very clean and always made up when we arrived back from excursions. I would definitely recommend this establishment.

Wow wow wow! We absolutely loved this place. We had a cute little 1 bdrm apartment and it was so perfect. Beautifully decorated, peaceful, comfy. There was a full refrigerator and microwave so we were able to have our left overs from the awesome food we had while visiting Sintra.

We visited during an unusual heat spell. The AC tower was not suitable to keep the space comfortable. Could not open doors since they were ground level and did not have screens. Air circulation not adequate, felt stuffy.

The location was good for us, walkable to a wedding and other places to eat. If you don't like walking, you'll need Uber/Bolt to city center of Sintra and other major attractions. It's a 25 minute walk to city center and palace of pena is not walkable. Nice building, well kept. It was clean. But we searched specifically for air conditioning, which was our top criteria. We like to sleep at 69F (20.5C). When we arrived we found there was no air conditioning. It is the unforgivable sin. Very hard to sleep. Thankfully it was not hot the week we were there, but there were not enough windows to get good airflow, plus keeping windows open leads to a lot of street noise, especially on Saturday night with nearby bar.

Our two bedroom apartment was decorated with nice old furniture but cramped. Breakfast at the dining room was great. Parking was easy as free community parking was just across the street. To get access to the main attractions at Sintra(Regaleira, National Palace), we needed to call Uber as the Villa is located at the skirt of the town. The Villa was nice but we do not think it deserve 4 stars considering the size and amenities of the room and the facilities.

Nunno, the manager, couldn't have been more helpful, making us breakfast in the morning, securing dinner reservations, and offering us tour suggestions which were helpful. The only negative was the festival of San Pedro that happened to coincide with our stay and was across the street. Ot was charming except for the loud music that ended sometime between midnight and 2 am.

The Storytellers villas were a delight. After five days in Lisbon and Porto and lots of busy hotels the quiet and independence of the Apartment was a welcome relief. It is conveniently located to the main attractions in Sintra, with easy parking and very clean well appointed little apartment that has all you need. The staff are super friendly and helpful and Nuno provided suggestions for the surrounding areas, restaurants and other tips. There is a bowl of fruit which is replenished daily, a nice touch and the cafes around the apartment are very local and a great place to get a cheap meal, drink or a snack. Loved it.

We were on a short trip to Sintra and so happy we chose Storytellers Villa. Our room was cute (small) and the courtyard common area was nice to hang out in for a glass of wine. We had a beautiful two bedroom villa with a lovely sitting room and kitchenette. It was a lovely, quiet neighborhood, but walkable to shops and restaurants. But what really made it was Marco, the proprietor, who thought of everything. We had a giant water bottle, coffee pods and wonderful fresh fruit waiting for us in the room. When we arrived Marco met us, and helped plan out our two days in Sintra, organized our tickets to the Pena Palace, arranged onward train tickets (and printed them for us!) and gave us great restaurant recommendations. He could not have been more friendly, welcoming and helpful. He truly made our visit special. Would definitely go back and highly recommend

The property consists of a newly rebuilt and decorated Chalet and the House of Falésia. The decoration is inspired by maritime and nautical motifs, with several decorative pieces harmonized with this theme.
The House of Falésia has common rooms. The navigators' room complements the maritime decoration, with a game table, television and various sofas; and the caravel room is the dining room where breakfast is served.
All stays include a continental breakfast with some sweet treats traditional from Sintra, being served either in the dining area or in the lodgings for greater privacy. A daily cleaning of the rooms is included throughout the stay.
