The hotel staff were friendly and sincere. The hotel itself is wonderful, we spent a couple of nights and it’s very convenient especially if you have a car to drive around.

We didn't have enough time to explore Galway but enjoyed our stay here. The reception staff was very friendly and handed me a nice free drink that was much appreciated (and needed). The room was very modern and clean with a comfortable bed and good TV. Parking is convenient and right next to the hotel. In a nice section of town and convenient to coffee shops and shopping.

Not suited for people staying for work

Not great if you are staying here for work. Breakfast is only served from 7:30 and the hoards of tourists makenit difficult to get your breakfast quickly.

Lovely atmosphere in the lobby area, but would suggest a play area for children and also re-configure the changing room for women/children as flight of stairs is difficult to manage to/from the swimming pool and same also need to get through the gym area before/after swim which brings up a safety and privacy issue!

I waited some time before making this review. Our stay boarded on the miserable. Rooms so hot with no ventilation that you cannot sleep. The dining room: while the staff were pleasant and courteous, the meals were simply not good. We spoke to the front desk numerous times about our room and the issues. Instead of rectifying anything, they tried to book us in for an additional night in the same awful room. I do not make it a point to disparage anyone; but, our experience was so disappointing that I would have wanted to read an accurate review before considering booking this establishment. I wish you a better stay than we had.

Great family stay

We stayed in the superior family room (me, my husband & 5yo little boy) and it was very spacious and clean. Found it very quiet, no ambient noises. Very impressed with the facilities - my little boy loved the pool. He also loved the pancake maker at breakfast. A lot of variety at breakfast. Good parking. Good location for Salthill, Galway City & Connemara. Really needs aircon though - even though we asked for a fan, which they provided, it would’ve been better with aircon and expected from a 4 star establishment.

Very nice hotel. The room was well appointed. We had a nice dinner with great service despite it being near closing time. The buffet breakfast was also quite good. The only negative was that we had to leave the window open to cool the room (no a/c) and at 07:00am, a garbage truck loaded a filled garbage container and the construction crew working in the hotel started tossing construction materials into the emptied skip (right below our window)!

Nice Hotel ⭐⭐⭐⭐

We stayed for one night in a family, it was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a drink in the lounge with family members the evening we arrived. The staff were friendly and the decor was very nice. It was good value. My only gripe is that we were late for the breakfast we paid extra for when we arrived, so I asked the receptionist if she could do anything for us and we would have our lunch there. She said yes she would refund our breakfast but never did.

Clybaun Hotel Stay

My stay at the clybaun was not so good. Confusion over a double booking took time to sort out firstly. Pool was also very cold and we had to leave it early. Our table booking was not ready so they put us in what seemed a make shift table beside the door of the main bar with people constantly passing us,and they was numerous tables vacant when we sat down and left. We were not offered a drinks menu,and when we asked, it wasnt exactly given with enthusiasm. Children were running up and down our corridor all night, which our 3 year old found difficult to sleep with that noise and the their parents shouting at them.

It’s hard to believe this hotel considered a 4-star hotel. Check-in left much to be desired and no one offered to assist us with bags. One elevator for all the rooms? Our room was the farthest away from said elevator; two hallways from an exit. There was in fact an exit, but it was listed as staff only and was blocked with laundry carts. This would be incredibly dangerous in the event of a fire. Additionally the drain was missing from our shower, leaving a large hole in which I stepped and twisted my ankle. All in all, not a bad place to stay, just needs work.

The food was average.

I really didn’t like the way it was insisted upon us having to pay for breakfast within a minute of us sitting down. We have a very going family,I was trying to settle our children during this time and didn’t appreciate it. I had given the room number but still asked to pay straight away. It was not the staff members fault as I saw a manager asking her to ask us. I found this inappropriate and this this policy should be reflected upon (perhaps give the option of charging it to the room) as it would put me off staying there again if I’m honest.

There was very loud music on one of the nights, as there was an event on, it kept us and our very young children awake. More consideration should have been given to our room location upon arrival knowing there was an event on as the event was very close to our room.

Although we knew it before arriving the room would benefit from air-con, a fridge and a safe.

There isn’t much to do in this area. We felt the hotel was really expensive for what it offers. However, apparently they had a huge racing event, which would explain why prices were high everywhere. There is no AC in their rooms, so our entire stay was pretty unbearable because of the heat.
You can skip the breakfast options. I don’t think it’s worth €15.

It's OK

No refrigerator in room. They will leave a bag of towels, coffee, and tea if you have the \"Do Not Disturb\" sign up. And they don't have an ice machine in the hotel, so you have to get ice from the bar when it is open. The bed, however, is terrible. A tiny double bed too small to comfortably fit 2 adults and it is rock hard.

Work required on facilities

We booked two adjoining rooms at the hotel for a two night stay.
Staff were very polite and friendly and the hotel was clean.
Bedroom was newly refurbished however this did not extend to the bathrooms of both rooms.
Showers in both rooms did not work. Cold water and no water pressure.
Brought the issue to the attention of management after day one and a service person was sent to repair.
Repair did not work and despite reporting again to hotel there was no further progress.
Mentioned to manager at checkout who agreed to investigate but I never heard back.
Disappointing, as apart from the issue with the bathroom, the hotel was adequate.

Only reason I gave a 4 not 5 star review was the building work that started at 8am right outside our hotel window - and we were not told/warned there was any building work going on at the hotel

Nice family room, good facilities, up to date bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful. We had dinner twice in the restaurant, food was fab, compliments to the chef! Also good pool ☺️

We were there for one night. The front desk could have been nicer, felt like they were really short with us. The service inside their restaurant was good. There was construction going on but it didn’t bother us. We were gone during the day taking in the sites nearby.

One over night say in a double room which was very clean and comfortable. However the bathrooms is dated and needs a face lift , mainly the shower unit is in the bath tub. A walk in shower shower in this day should be the norm.

Nice teo night stay.

Stay was great. Easy access by bus into City Centre 5 euro for 2 adults single, bus stop just outside hotel. Room was a little bit warm and second nights sleep was interupted by guest trying to open fire doot.

I really loved the hotel. The decor is fabulous. The bed is huge and really comfortable. I was there during the cold spell and it was so warm and cosy. I used the leisure facilities which were lovely. The hot tub is a real treat. Staff are really helpful and lovely. I cant wait to go back.

Leisure centre and hotel are separate businesses so you have to bring your towels from the room to the pool. The swim lessons took up either side of the pool instead of the two lanes the same side. The water temperature was cold in the pool…really should have been hotter.
