Very basic property but expensive for the amenities. Very well located. Staff was friendly but at checkout they didn't want to call a taxi for us. Room wasn't quiet, you can hear conversations from next rooms in the middle of the night. I will not stay again there. Many better places around.

One evening, when I entered the lobby with my sister and niece (who live in Madrid) to pick up a gift I brought for them, the person in charge of the night shift yelled to us in a very nasty way: \"Two minutes!\", as if I we were in a jail. My sister and niece were in shock.Humiliating treatment!

IT IS WORTH TO TRY HOSTAL MARIA LUISA IN MADRID

This is not the first time I have stayed at Hostal Maria Luisa and there are so many reasons why I return to the same place. Hostal Maria Luisa is central located, and I was amazed to see that the Hostal has been remodeled recently. All its staff is nice and friendly. Finally, the cost of your accommodation is a bargain. Please, make your reservation without hesitation, and enjoy your stay in Madrid without wondering where should you stay. in one of the most wonderful cities in the world!!!..

A nice little family hotel in the center of Madrid

Great location in the center of Madrid. Small, but very comfortable room, comfortable bed. Heater and AC, TV with channels in English, small fridge with cold drinks. Very clean, towels changed daily. Thin walls, so your peace and quiet depends on your next door neighbors, which is quite usual and common.
Very pleasant and helpful hotel owners, but one of their staff certainly could be more civilized and helpful, and less loud.
If her statement that the couch in the common area cannot be.used by guests, because the common area is only for luggage storage is correct, then it is very strange. The rooms are dark and have no comfortablevsitting. The couch and the common area are much more pleasant

It's a lovely little hostel in the centre. Excellent location, we walked to many tourist attractions. Staff were friendly and towels changed daily. The only thing was the wayer was a little too hot and we coukdnt change the temperature. Plus the a/c wasnt included for the price we paid, so just double check that. Overall we throughly enjoyed our stay.

Excellent location in Madrid's centre

Great family-run place very close to the dead centre of Madrid. Comfortable rooms, good wi-fi, and even if your room faces out onto the street, you won't hear much, thanks to two sets of double-glazed windows. Excellent value.

So many wonderful memories of this Hostal! My room was clean, offering great space for clothes, a very good bed and pillow, a small refrigerator (!!), bathroom en suite, a marvelous shower. The staff, outstanding and gracious, offering kind help when I was sick. I recommend it!!

Start with the good, great location and the woman on reception speak enough good English and is very friendly and personable. The rooms are basic but good, air conditioner ok and mini bar not so cool. Next, they don’t tell you in the info, you can not have visitors. That should be spelt out as I’m on holiday and may want to take a friend to the room I paid for.

Nice Hostal in the Center of Everything

Love this hostal, it was in the middle of everything,lost of restaurants and bars, close to the Gran Via. The staff very friendly and kind. Room very clean and cheap. I pay a good deal for my stay and for evrything it had.. Woww. Loved it. Would recommend it to everybody.

Gay Travelers Avoid and Non-Gay Travelers Why here

LGBT Travelers Do Not Stay Here!!! I was here for Madrid World Pride in the center of the gay area. This his a homophobic staff my Spanish Speaking cohabitant was not allowed to share our double booking. This hotel would not allow me to have a companion despite making a double occupancy reservation. The staff is hostile and absolutely horrible.
The condition of this property is very poor it's the worst possible place to stay regardless of your orientation. I would absolutely avoid this property. Hotels.com gave me a credit for the balance of the days and I left in the morning to move to a real hotel. Horrible experience, great location but just avoid this at any price unless you like being treated like a child.
Jamie, the owner should be ashamed of himself and his night staff was so hostile we nearly drew punches. Horrible Horrible Horrible!

This hostel has been my standard lodging with student groups for a number of years, but I was a bit less enamored with it this time. While the location is great and the price is reasonable, the wifi connection was weak and the person on duty in the evening was not as friendly as some of the employees in past visits. Also, the evening doorbell is extremely annoying for those who are trying to sleep.

The Hostel is located just steps from Gran Via and also inside the Chueva neighborhood, just steps away from great nightclubs, restaurants, metro stations, etc. From here you can walk to Callao, Puerta del Sol, Fuente de Cibeles. Overall is very centric. They make your bed everyday and clean up the bathroom. Also, the staff members are great and the place is very safe. Next time, i will be staying in the same place! :)

Being situared just 5 min from Gran Via metro station the hostel provides everything neccessary to relax after a busy day. Lots of cafes nearby, shops, beautiful squares. I would just mention very small rooms,the rest is very good. Definetely recommend for spending your time in Madrid

Basic accommodation with reasonable value

Whilst the staff were all very friendly and room was ok there were a few issues with the accommodation. It was extremely loud first of all,I could hear people moving about upstairs well until 4 or 5 in the morning and with the paper thin walls the neighbouring rooms were also easily heard when they came back from a night out in the early hours of the morning. The street noise is also very loud. So unfortunately didn't sleep well over the stay.

Room was clean enough with a basic and small bathroom. Nice living area if you wanted to get out of the room and very good location.

Good stays in Madrid

Walking distance from almost every tourist place in Madrid and very close from a supermaket(Carrefur?? express) and popular tapas bar. Sushi bar just across the street, forgot the name, make sushi and roll delicious and was not expensive, so we went there twice. Room was a bit small but OK because still there were a small refrigerator, TV and table with mirror, everything I needed. Staffs are friendly.

This is a decent enough hostal - economic, well-located, clean and efficient, BUT with paper-thin walls. You can hear everything your neighbors do - and I mean everything. So unless you're lucky enough to have an empty room next to yours, which isn't too likely as they're aren't that many, make sure and have earplugs. Classic example of \"you get what you pay for.\"

Achei o estabelecimento muito bom. Localização privilegiada, com fácil acesso a todos os principais pontos turísticos. Staff muito atencioso. Os quartos tem boa vedação, apenas pontuo que devido a época do ano (fim de outono) o ar condicionado do quarto nao estava funcionando. Quarto possui um mini frigobar que pode ser usado. É um lugar que certamente retornarei.

Bem localizado mas a rua é bem movimentada, consequentemente mais barulho. O quarto é silencioso, reformado. Porém tivemos problemas com o ar condicionado. Fazendo 35 graus, ele ligava e desligava e ainda caiu bastante agua. Comunicamos o ocorrido mas por ser fim de semana não houve técnico para concerto.
O box no banheiro não tem nenhum lugar para apoiar seus objetos, sabonete, shampoo e etc…
Alguns dias não foi limpo o chão e nem trocado a toalha do piso.
Mas todos foram muito prestativos.

Me hospedé con mi hija de 11 años y me sentí segura y bien atendida, incluso por equivocación me iba del hotel un día antes de los días previstos y regresé de nuevo al Hostal y me respetaron dándome de nuevo mi habitación sin cobro. El personal es muy amable y tomar el taxi en la madrugada lo haces frente al Hostal que parece más Hotel. Super Recomendado. Todo lo tienes cerca o de frente al Hostal donde comer, Supercitos y hasta una estética.

Excelente localização no coração de Madrid, quartos novos, boas roupas de cama, atendimento cordial, mas há um problema sério com o isolamento acustico e os barulhos impedem que se possa ter uma boa noite de sono o que é piorado pela logistica de que os hospedes precisam deixar as chaves ao sair e quando chegam tem que tocar a campainha. Nao recomendo para quem tem sono leve ou se incomoda facilmente com barulhos.

Lo bueno es la ubicación. Y otro punto a favor esque tiene descuento con un parking lo cual sale más barato por lo demás....muchísimo ruido, las paredes son de papel. Cuando llamas al timbre se oye en todo el hostal, la cama super incómoda te hundias hacia el medio, si alguien tira de la cadena o se ducha parece que se te cae el edificio encima....al final no se puede pedir mucho por el precio pero para la ubicación, super recomendado

A localização do hotel é excelente! Muito próximo da Gran Vía e próximo da estação de metrô e fácil caminhar aos pontos turísticos.
Os funcionários são cordiais. Deixaram guardar as malas, pois cheguei antes do horário do checkin. Prédio com elevador.
O quarto passou por reforma recente, banheiro confortável, com boa cama, mini-frigobar, ar condicionado para o verão, TV.
Não há café da manhã na propriedade, mas há vários locais próximos para comer.

Está bien ubicada, pero no lo rocomiendo me robaron, conforme fueron pasando los días iba tomando bebidas del frigobar dentro del cuarto y al mismo tiempo salía para pagar, al hacer check out me cobraron todo de nuevo, y el problema es que rotan tanto el personal que ni entre ellos se conocen y te dicen que no has pagado y como el problema es que te piden que pagues en efectivo no tienes como comprobar lo pagado. Además la gente que está ahí, te da un mal trato, como si te estuviera haciendo un favor. Lo peor es que no tienes cómo acceder por tu cuenta cada sales tienes que dejar la llave y cuando quieres volver tienes que tocar el tiemble y esperar afuera unos minutos afuera.

Dette stedet har kun seng og bad og hyller pluss en liten minibar. Ingen vannkoker eller pulverkaffe. Betjeningen står mye ute i gangen og prater, fra tidlig av, dette er forstyrrende. Vi betalte nesten 200 euro per natt i helgen, de kunne i det minste hatt en liten kaffetrakter i fellesområdet. Beliggenheten i Chueca er veldig god, men for prisen kan de koste på seg litt mer komfort.

Boa localização e bom custo benefício

A localização é ótima, bom custo-beneficio, a equipe do hotel é bem cordial. Um problema é a questão de se ouvir o barulho e conversas dos outros quartos, para quem tem sono leve é um problema. O ar condicionado só está disponível no verão, mesmo que você tenha uma dia muito quente no outono. Mas para alguns dias em Madrid, o hotel é bem indicado.
