The hotel is in a great location to explore Bergen and is easy to get to via a bus or train from the airport. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The only negative was the room's windows faced the communal elevator area, so we had to have the curtains drawn at all times for privacy and to attempt to block out the very bright lights that stayed on all night. Aside from that, it was very peaceful and we enjoyed our stay.

Very clean, well located with a lovely walk to the harbour it only takes 10/15 minutes. Amazing spread for breakfast, there was so much to choose from and extremely fresh. We had a standard room which was a little small but perfect for our 3 nights.

Stayed here for a couple of during a trip to Bergen. Had communications prior and they were very responsive and helpful. Location was very good. Close to metro/bus stop and walking distance to Bergen centre. Room was clean, tidy and comfy. Tea and coffee facilities in the room also. Lovely view from the window of the mountain. Good selection for breakfast. Staff were friendly throughout stay here. No complaints, very good hotel.

Originally got put in a room facing the main road/ parking lot and it was terribly noisy even with the windows shut. We were then able to move to another room on the same floor but there was no view.

The room was a bit dirty, the tv did not work (no streaming, only the news channel worked, and you have to pay to use the screen mirror service on the TV). There was no fitted sheet on the bed and the mattress was just a topper and extremely thin, you only got one pillow each, and the duvet was stained dark red on one half end.

Every one in the staff was very nice but I would never stay here again.

The hotel is right by the Bergen bus station and its car park. However, about a 3 minute walk away is a beautiful park and the Kode art gallery. The light railway from the airport stops at the bus station.

The breakfast is ample and the staff are very friendly and courteous. The hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from Bryggen.

However, the rooms are fairly basic. Though clean, there are no extras. The bathroom is very basic too. The rooms are quite dark. Not cosy. Needs modernising or refurbishing. The rest of the hotel is modern, bright and welcoming.

I didn’t like the rooms. But the staff, breakfast and rest of the property were great.

We had booked on Expedia for 2 children’s and 2 adults. Children age was 12 and 17. At check in we were advised that 17 yr old is not child as per Scandic and we would have to pay extra charges. However I tried to make another booking infront of the staff meme we using 17 and 12 ages and the booking price was actually cheaper than what I had booked for. So in the end they honoured my original booking with out extra charges. Expedia should ensure the criteria for different hotels is reflected in their bookings

We enjoyed our stay at Scandic Ørnen, and our selections above reflect our satisfaction. Two things happened, one fairly minor, one of more importance to us.

Minor - a male reception staff member had a lengthy conversation with a female who appeared to be a hotel customer. As I speak Norwegian, it was easy to determine this was not about hotel business. I stood nearby clearly waiting for my turn to ask a question that was about something related to customer service. After at least 5 minutes, I gave up.

Important (to us) - lack of washcloths. We are accustomed to using washcloths, and had not previously encountered this. When we asked, we were offered additional hand towels. We took the towels, and made do. This policy flys in the face of Scandic’s stated concern for the environment, and causes your customers unnecessary inconvenience and a bit of embarrassment. At the very least, washcloths should be offered upon request.

Good location, clean but insufficient to comfort

Slow check-in as staff maintained room not paid for even though I’d pre- paid when I made the booking. Very small room, too small to be comfortable for two people. Too warm for sleeping and unable to cool room as no temperature controller. TV controller batteries were flat, had to go down to reception to change them. Not enough pillows - only one small, lumpy pillow provided for each person. Good breakfast, great location very close to main railway station.

The hotel is just a few min walk from the train station making it very convenient. There are other hotels closer to the harbor but we didn’t mind the location. My only complaint is if you have a family room, the pull-out couch bed could be much improved. The mattress was not comfortable.
We did the breakfast one morning and it is worth it if you want a hearty spread to start your day. Very good.

Nice ground floor bar, friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Restaurant seemingly closed. Room was in desperate need of some TLC, and shower facilities not great. I’m not convinced the bed is a king either. Convenient for train station, with a 15 minute walk to main tourist hotspots.

I took a taxi from the airport, which I thought was a sanctioned taxi service.. I asked before I got in if they accept credit cards which 95% of the companies in Bergen do but when the driver got to the hotel, I gave him my credit card and it was declined.. I gave him another credit card and it was declined.. I gave him a third credit card and it was declined so he asked for cash… I looked up to see what the charges should be based on Uber and it was $50. He told me the charges were $90 and he needed cash.. I said let’s go into the hotel and see what we can figure out… this man took my pack with credit cards, passport and cash.. when I refuse to pay him this way.. it turned into a brawl because I grabbed my backpack from this man as he’s trying to exit the Hotel and I had to get them to call the police..Sage witnessed this at the front desk and spoke to the police . The police offered to file a report against this man who is an immigrant from Eritrea/Ethiopia… I did not want to press charges because it was just a waste of time, but please do not take an unofficial sanction Taxi service, which is Bergen Taxi… they also have Uber… do not get it in any taxi at this airport unless you know where they come from!!

A nice hotel in a good location. The rooms were clean and spacious and the bathrooms were good. The beds were very small and not comfortable coupled with a hot room with no air conditioning or ventilation made for a stuffy and restless night.

The breakfast was good and there was the ability to leave luggage. No real place to sit or communal lounge area as the reception was tiny with just one sofa.

The Ornen is a relatively new and large hotel. Due to us having two bikes and boxes for shipping to deal with, we were given an end room which was ver adequate for our stuff. The hotel stored the bike boxes until we arrived. The breakfast was incredible, all different types of food, something for everyone, the staff were super attentive in keeping everything filled and dishes cleared as soon as you were done. The hotel was an easy 10-15 min walk to the wharf and Bryggen area with lots of dining options. There is a mall next door, train station two blocks away and parkade across the street. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Good hotel if there is no heat spell

The hotel was generally fine. It is hotel used by groups so the lobby area was congested and noisy at times. The room was fine accept the hotel does not have AC. There was a heat spell in Bergen during our visit as a result our room was very warm. There is a small window that opened but it was 27C out side. There included breakfast was excellent.

Hotel's. Com site shows this hotel having air conditioning and it turned out that the hotel only has a fan type system in each room not AC as described in the aminity page!
The room was very hot resulting in the room being very uncomfortable to sleep in.

Rooms are not large but fairly nice. Very friendly staff. The only problem - And it was a very significant problem - is that there was only one outlet on one side of the bed. There was nothing on the other side, which is ridiculous in this day of everyone carrying multiple electronic devices. I tried plugging into the bathroom, but it turns out that when you turn off the bathroom light you also turn off the bathroom plug. Only I didn't discover that until the next morning.

We really enjoyed this hotel. Our only complaint was the bathroom. There was no safety/grab bar to get in and out of the shower. Very uncomfortable feeling. Fantastic breakfast and evening buffet. The staff superb. Close to the Bergen city for dining and shopping.

Room could do with usb charging ports like most modern hotels offer.
Breakfast is excellent, except weekends it opens 730am so if like us who had a tour booked for 8am it was a bit late and only gave us 10mins to grab something quick.

Amazing location! I couldn't have been happier with the location - close to the Flybussen airport bus stop, train station for trains to see the fjords & only 10ish minute walk to the water. Beautiful location near the lake and the museums.

hotel breakfast was great too - lots of selection and plenty of seating space, despite being very busy.

The hotel is a great location for walking to restaurants and only 10 minutes from the fish market and wharf area. The included buffet breakfast is excellent!
The rooms are small and there is no AC. You may think this is not necessary but the beds only have a duvet with no sheets. The small room gets very warm with two people breathing all night and no air exchange. We woke up hot every night.
Small side note, the staff are friendly but not overly helpful. My wife fell on a hotel rug that had folded over on our first entrance into the hotel. Her view was blocked by others entering the hotel. She suffered a knee injury. The hotel staff never offered assistance or offered any help. We are both in good shape and active hikers. We were not expecting this hazard at a hotel!

Very well presented, clean and extremely comfortable.
Breakfast had a great selection and we were able to take a packed lunch of our picking for our day out.

The hotel has a lovely modern fresh clean look. Staff were all helpful if anything was required. We found our room to have few sockets for plugging in the kettle and a big broken lamp that took up space and 2 broken bulbs. The wardrobe was very thin with insufficient space to unpack for our 4 nights, we had to put shoes on after a shower as there were no bath mats and the floor was soaking. The tv was mounted on a wall that was nowhere near the bed so you had to sit in front if the toilet to watch it. Breakfast was great, a huge offering. Only eggs as a hot option for vegetarians for breakfast - cooked to perfection.
Hotel is located in great spot as a base to discover Bergen, transport links are terrific.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Giselda front of house in the Breakfast restaurant was so welcoming it made me feel at home it was amazing how she remembered my name, prety impressive with the number of residents staying there in the hotel. Gave me a lovely send off .Frederick at the bar was professional, hard working and knowledgeable.
The Breakfast was amazing with the choice , quality considering how many residents they had staying.

All in all I didn't say goodbye, just until we meet again.
