Hotel staff allowed us to leave our bags at the start and end of the trip due to our flight times which was really helpful. However, lots of things wrong with this hotel. Lift broken, lack of amenities in room (no kettle, shower cap etc). Our room flooded whilst we were out and our clothes were wet, they didn’t offer a dry cleaning service to rectify this. The reception area is inviting, however when you go upstairs to the rooms they are very dated and in need of modernisation.

The good - The breakfast had a wide range of selections. It was good but don't come towards the end because food wasn't refilled or it was left sitting for a super long time. So dried out or soggy. Wifi was great no issues. Room was clean. The conference center was great as well. The not so great. Bed was awful. Rooms seemed largely just older and need some TLC. Nowhere to put any clothes so a week long stay you just live out of your suitcase on the floor. Hotel was nice but rooms were just not great.

There were hairs still in the sink and on one of the beds. The light switch to the bed reading lights didn’t stay on if you turned the overhead lights off, the heater didn’t stay on and the windows were draughty. It seems like the place is undergoing renovations. It seemed like half the room had been painted. The bed was comfortable. Location was good.

The layout with two sections to the building on opposite sides of the road was a bit odd. No kettle in the room for tea but facilities on ground floor. Breakfast was excellent with wide variety and good presentation.

Booked a double / queen room, arrived and it was 2 separate beds. Bedroom itself was ok, bathroom was full of orange mold.

Also asked the front of house about a parking discount, apparently this wasn’t a thing. As we left spotted a parking validation terminal / tablet by the exit to get money off the ridiculously expensive parking fees….

The first room we received was unacceptable due to a severe marijuana smell, including in the hall. The second room we received were freezing cold (approx 10C). After two visits to desk we received a heater which when turned on blew a socket and we lost all power. Upon a third visit to the reception I received a key to third room. Didnt work in elevator. Upon a fourth visit I received a new key which worked in elevator but not in room door. Upon a fifth visit to the reception I received a master key which let me inspect the third room which held a comfortable temperatur. This room we accepted. WHen we then moved to the third room (which is in a separate building from the two frist rooms), we found a wide, brown 15 cm trace of feces along the front of the toilet. As we had now spent 1.5 hours to get a comfortable room I cleaned myself and went to bed. The staff was perfectly pleasant and accommodating but I am very disappointed in the quality of the rooms and hotel, and the cleaning. We were offered glass of wine as an apology but as I don't drink alcohol this was not of interest. I'm more or less shocked that this can be the standard of a Scandic hotel, a chain I've used many times in connection to both leisure and business

Friendly check in. Nice and clean room with bathtub across the street, and the main cinema in the same building (entry next to the hotel entrance, but totally undisturbed). Nice breakfast buffet, slightly cheaper if ordered the night before. Spacious restaurant. Short walking distance from the city square.

A quiet corner room facing the city and Fløyen mountain. Decor is an odd combination of Scandi minimalist and velvety Rococo couch. Very clean and new feeling. Would be nice to have USB charging ports. Staff are friendly and helpful-ask at the front desk to book a taxi or use the selfserve kiosk in the lobby.

The room we are in is in a totally different building from the main lobby. As it rains almost constantly, we have to walk outside to the main building to get our breakfast.
The layout of our room is not conducive to any kind of maneuvering about. There is a desk whic is way too big for the room. The lighting was totally inadequate. There was not even a box of tissues anywhere to be found. I would definitely not recommend staying here.

The lobby and restaurant area were nice. The hallway and room smelled like a medical unit of a hospital - the best way I can describe this to people that don’t know is basically like a public bathroom that tried to be cleaned with cheap or watered down cleaning products. There was hair in the bathroom and on the towels that were not ours; there was pubic hair in the bed that was not ours. Overall I just felt dirty in this hotel but luckily my stay was only for one night. The area is walkable to the rest of the city. There is construction outside that started at 730am.

Not a Four star property. Most probably 1-2 star category. Not worth the money. Too old and outdated building. Poor amenities. Rooms are not cleaned automatically. Strange enough you have to register prior day evening before 11pm if you want your room to be cleaned next day. Staffs are friendly.

It was nice to be able to get on and off the Havila Voyages cruise ship nearby. To get to Bergen Airport, I went to the stop, which was only two minutes away, twice to wait for the B50 and B51 buses, but they never came. So I gave up and went to Bybanen in the central area. They don't accept cash, so I paid 25kr with a credit card. The ride to the airport was about 40-45 minutes. I got my tax refund at the book shop, which I used to get my credit card (they don't give cash). There was no money exchange. I think I'll have to go to the US and exchange it for US dollars.

Had a great stay at Scandic in Oslo, but this Bergen location was a huge letdown. I was moved between two rooms in different buildings—both outdated and noisy. First room had the wrong bed and shared a wall with the elevator. Second was farther from the elevator but still loud due to a nearby music festival and no AC. On a rare hot day (24°C+), the room became an oven, made worse by a stuck-on floor heater. Staff never followed up. The building looked untouched since the '80s—damaged walls, stained wallpaper, and worn fixtures. Skipped breakfast because it was in yet another building. The online photos must be of a completely different place.

4 stars seem to be a high praise for this hotel which frankly seems to me to be a budget hotel. The rooms were dim (there were not enough lights to light up the room), and the lack of amenities is appalling - no coffee, tea, or kettle. It is shocking that this is a 4 star hotel. Please reconsider your options.

Room was very cramped though with bunk beds squeezed alongside the double bed - to the point that the double bed was pushed to the side and if I tried to sit back in bed I was hitting the bedside lamp. Also hot - no air con and reception said they’d run out of fans - could they not have bought enough to have at least one for each room? Particularly the rooms that get the afternoon sun. Not great service there folks.

The room: Dark and dingy. Weird smell. Dirty: saw hair from previous guest. Paint was peeling from the walls and windowsill was badly chipped. Overall, it looked like a one star motel used by hookers.

Nice size room with large bathroom

This was the largest room we stayed in during our Scandinavian trip. Very generous size and a huge bathroom with a bathtub. Nice breakfast as well. It would have been nice if it were just a few minutes closer to town, but still walkable.

The hotel is old and needs maintenance; the photos of the bathrooms do not correspond to reality.

It needs repairs, the doors do not close properly,the closing sensor of the elevator does not work well, and the dashboard is fallen and hanging.

Rooms could have done with more storage space, don’t like living out of a suitcase.

Noted the eco-credentials, but would have liked a tea making option in the room, instead of having to get the complementary hot water downstairs.

We had messaged ahead requesting a room in the main building but were allocated a room across the road in the annex. This in itself was not a big issue but the room was sub par to our expectations. There were numerous gouges and marks on the wall. It was in need of renovation. The fridge did not seem to work and the shower tended to flood the bathroom. Just to note this was a standard room not economy so I did expect more. I believe you can request a room clean but we weren’t advised this on check in. By the time we realised this we were about to leave next day. We did manage to get fresh towels ourselves.
Plus points we got to check in a couple of hours earlier than expected which was helpful. Breakfast was also excellent, plenty choice and lots of tables so we never had to wait. The annex building was quiet even over a weekend. Location of the hotel was good too. Short walk from the light rail stop for the airport.

The hotel seems to be mainly used for large tour groups. It is separated into two sections with a road in between. I was in the second building which was not staffed. The street was noisy at night. The staff was pleasant and for being a bus drop off and pick up place the next day, it was okay.

We were a family of 7 travelling. Not much for vegetarian options at breakfast other than bread, cheese and beans.

We had a squeaky sofa bed and the hotel was good about getting us an additional room so our final night we got better sleep.

Reason why I didn't give it a 5star was. There is no individual temp control in the rooms. We were super hot each evening.

Dated room in old wing

The hotel has a new wing and an old wing. The reception is in the new wing. I was in the old wing. The room that I had was run down and dated. There was no air conditioning and I had to open the window for ventilation. The TV was not working. There was no telephone. The elevator was small. I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the Hurtigruten terminal. For one night’s stay it is OK but not for longer stays. I can’t comment on the new wing though. Breakfast was at the new wing and was sumptuous.
