This accom is not staffed to check in (contrary to advertising) so when there are issues needing fixing after hours, there isn’t anyone to assist. Power tripped in our room several times using coffee machine and heater and was off all night. Great location, loved the heated floor.

Convenient hotel to stay in. It is self check in. But all instructions are sent to you and are easy to follow. The lift was broken when we arrived but there was an employee stationed somewhere nearby to help with bags. Clean and quiet room.

Everything is perfect. Central location. Everything a tourist might need in few minutes reach.
I think the checking process could be a little easier rather than back and forth phone call.
It doesn't bother much but there is a noise inside the room time to time. Something contracts and expands. I couldn't figure out why.

I did not realize there was no staff on the premises. I had to go to a nearby sister hotel to get my room key and except for a few questions I had about getting around on transit that I couldn’t ask because of no staff, it was a good stay. Room was nice, clean, and location was great.

This hotel is great location however my experience with the room this time was bad. It was weird showing and then having to use all the towels to dry the floor so I didn’t slip. Lot more noise during this stay. Maybe that’s because I stayed for 3 nights and on the 5th floor opposed to 6th floor last time.

Do not recommend.

I have only 3 requirements for a good hotel stay. It has to be clean, have a nice shower and comfortable beds. We travelled as a family of 5, and though the main bed in the bedroom was comfortable, 3 of us were set up on a sofa bed and an extra bed, which was fine and expected. What we didn't expect was that these beds were impossible to sleep in. The sofa bed had an extremely thin mattress over metal bars, and it was very squeeky and noisy. The extra bed kept collapsing whenever we moved. It ended with the kids sleeping in the main bed and parents on the couch which was not a bed, and certainly not comfortable, but better than what they had set up for us.
When I went to have a shower I looked straight into offices (or apartments?) with people in it who could clearly see us in the shower.... I chose to not shower.
The apartment appeared clean, but the bins were full of rubbish.
Also the check in process was abysmal, as we had to go to a different hotel to get our key and pay. The receptionist wrote a number that didn't make sense on the key card, so we have had to call them to clarify where we were going. After a long day of travelling with young children and a teenager with autism who didn't understand what was going on, this was an extra byrden we didn't need. Do not recommend. Next year we will stick with Ole Bull like always.

I was slightly apprehensive about staying at a self-service hotel but I needn't have been - the text arrived with my key code and it all worked out very well. The room was lovely - bigger than I expected and with a very nice shower. It was quiet despite being in the centre of town and on top of a shopping centre, and very comfortable. The only additional thing that would have been useful would be somewhere to store luggage after you check out (I don't think there was anywhere!), but it's not far from the station where you can do that. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and I would come back!

Great location! Hidden gem in Bergen

Our family had a great stay at Magic Hotel Xhibition this summer. It was a great location, walking distance to everything in the City Center and conveniently located in the mall with a grocery store on the bottom floor. We were able to check in a few blocks away at the other Magic hotel and get the keys to our room. Signage inside the mall made it very easy to find our room. We were in a pinch to find a place to stay for one night in Bergen, and this ended up being a perfect option for us!

This hotel is terrible. There is no reception/staff working there, which they tell you shortly before you arrive, but in my case their notification asked me to email them my phone number to get an sms message with a link to get my mobile key. There are two problems with this.

1. I'm traveling international and my phone isn't receiving SMS atm so I would have never received the SMS.
2. The larger problem though was the email address they gave me to email was ---@----- this is not a valid email address even if I could receive SMS I couldn't give them my number to send it. I replied to their initial message letting them know that I did not receive a valid email address to send a number to. I got an automated message back saying they received it and I would receive an email soon.... I have already checked out and started flying home, I still have not received an email.

During the stay the room looks fine but it has no AC and it was very hot, we had to open the windows to the busy street below that kept us up at night. The bathroom had by far the worst toilet paper I have ever used, like worse than any public toilet, it disintegrated at the smallest moisture.

There was a small bit of blood on the sheets and there is no staff to complain to. In the morning house keeping asked if we wanted new towels as we were leaving, we said yes and they did not give us new towels or clean the room.

The shower is absolutely horrid, it doesn't have a door and there is no central drain.

I loved that the one that I stayed in was so helpful as finding the Xhibition one was challenging. I never did get an email telling me where/how to check in, so I went to the Korskirkin one to get help. (My flights were canceled and I ended up there one night early and needed a room).

I was so impressed with the reception staff that I asked to move my reservation to there.

International phone numbers, or specifically from the US, do not receive the text message with your card key number so you'll have to call the hotel for the key card. They were very quick to answer though and everything was clean and tidy! Great for the price

I didnt like having to check in at another hotel as there were no staff on site.
I have had on occasions when my key card didnt work. Fortunately this time this didnt happen otherwise i would have had to walk back to the original hotel where i checked in.
In most hotels next to a kettle are tea bags coffee, milk etc. I was surprise to see two pairs of ear plugs.
Loud music was played until the early hours on Saturday night

This has unique interior decor which is pretty funky. Unfortunately the room stank of very bad drain smell. Being late at night and no reception we were forced to stay in the room When we did venture to the other hotel with a reception to complain a very disinterested and rude male receptionist had obviously heard it all before could have cared less!

Unfortunately the electronic key for the phone did not work and I had to go to the reception at another hotel to get the keys. It is not possible to walk between the two with large bags which makes it very difficult. With no staff at this venue it just felt very strange.
After check out our flight was late in the afternoon so we had a problem storing our bags as well, in this case the staff were helpful

The hotel is above a mall and does not have a lobby or any staff on site. They try to use an app for the door keys, but it didn't work so I had to walk to their sister hotel a few minutes away to get a physical key (seemed like that was fairly common). It also gets a bit noisy at night (the hotel has earplugs in the rooms already)

Rocked up and there was a dude in my room who hadn't left.

Walked over and spoke to the staff. They immediately put me in a new room, which was fantastic.

Cleanliness was pretty good. For a budget room where you just want a bed, it was fine for that.

At points the room did smell a bit of sewerage, but I just closed the bathroom door and that dealt with that.

Again, it was perfectly acceptable for a quick budget overnight accommodation after hiking for a few days.

Although there were positives about the hotel, the main negative was the bathroom. The floor when wet was dangerously slippery, could cause injury, and did to one of our party. There was no warning of any kind to draw attention to this. You should take action immediately.

As a foreign traveler the phone checkin was very difficult due to lack of internet availability and mobile phone cell service. The staff were very courteous and helpful especially housekeeping. Rooms are VERY basic but location was convenient for train station, city center and harbor area. Construction in the area was noisy as early as 4:30 a.m.

Fabulous, if you don’t mind raving in bed til 2am

We stayed 4 nights in Bergen.

Downside: Two of the nights we were met with loud music from the nightclub below and right outside our window. One night there was music on stage outside too. The club closes at 2am! We may as well have been at the club ourselves as the vibrations and booming music came right through the windows/floor into our room (522). The building itself is an odd mix, with a shopping centre below (quite handy) and the club above, then the hotel rooms (odd place for these!) then another bar above I believe roof level. If you don’t mind loud music or are going to be out partying yourself then this hotel would be great, but not so much for a travelling couple up early for exploring! Another concern was that one day we were met by someone jacking up in the stairwell to the rooms, quite concerning, as this felt as if anyone could get in. We also were not text our digital key password by 3pm and had to chase this with the reception by phone, causing stress and a delay to entering the accommodation after a long journey.

Good bits - large bathroom (almost too big, a shame there isn’t a bath for the space), or make the room bigger and add an extra chair/sofa (as there is only one chair). The bed was REALLY comfy! Very clean during our stay. The nights it was quiet (club closed) we had a brilliant sleep. No noise from other rooms/corridor. Great view of mount Floyen.

The hotel has no reception and online check in via a code, but it wasn't sent. To get into my room, I had to walk with heavy luggage 500m to a sister hotel to get a key and then walk back again.
When leaving my 5th floor room I foubd the lift broken, so i had to carry my luggage down 3 flights of stairs, through a shopping centre then down 2 escalators to get to street level.
I certainly wouldn't bother with this hotel.

The hotel is very conveniently located to everything we wanted to see. Transportation from the airport was easy, one train and a short walk. Close to the ferry terminal as well. Staff was helpful even though it was remote only. So, you will have to have access to a phone (we had a roaming sim with phone). There wasn't one in the room. The room was clean and had everything we needed.

Front door was locked in the early morning and should have been fixed in the three days I was there.
I had a do not disturb sign on my door and it was taken on 7 June. I could tell someone had been in my room while I was out. That is not right.

Poor registration experience

We were booked at the Xhibition Magic hotel in Bergen for a one night stay. Reception registration at the Xhibition is supposed to be an app based process that works through a link provided via SMS. For whatever reason, neither my or my husband's mobile numbers would work according to a Magic hotel representative. Our phones had been sending and receiving SMS messages just fine for over a week in Europe. We had to go to another Magic location to obtain physical key cards. Back at the Xhibition with our physical key cards we opened the room to find it had not been made up. The bed was a mess and wet towels were on the bathroom floor. We were given an equivalent room at another Magic hotel nearby. The experience at the Korskirken location was fine, but the ineffective registration process and unmade room at the Xhibition location left us with a poor impression.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel!

The location is superb - a 10 minute walk from the train station and a 5 minute walk to the harbour area and light rail station to the airport. The hotel sits above a shopping complex, and a large supermarket on the ground floor (Rema 1000). It was a bit difficult to find, but the mall staff were very helpful in helping me to locate the hotel within the shopping mall. The rooms are very comfortable, have funky decor/lighting and had everything I needed for a good night's sleep. The bed was very comfortable with an amazing duvet and lovely pillows. The shower was exceptional and bathroom was spic and span! The staff were very lovely and offered me free breakfast because of a problem they were having with their app (this was very much appreciated!). The breakfast was so amazing, with so many varieties and options to choose from. Loved the scrambled eggs, bacon, cheeses, yum! Anything you could possibly want for breakfast, they had on offer. Free coffee and tea in the hallway, which was an added bonus. Check-in and check-out were efficient. I appreciated having a large flatscreen tv in my room as well as an electric kettle. There was also a desk, chair, luggage storage bench and hangers. Toiletries included: bar soap, shampoo bottles, and body lotion. 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels provided.

Air conditioning was great and wifi signal was strong throughout!

Just a superb hotel overall! Staff made my stay exceptionally comfortable!

A for location which is central and walking distance to all the main sights in Bergen with plenty of restaurants as well.
If you’re looking for somewhere quiet though, skip this place. The rooms have no AC so we had to sleep with our windows open and it was really loud as we faced a bus stop - and the garbage trucks rolled by before 6 so there was much banging and clanging as they did there pick up.
Bathrooms are also quite small.

A terribly excuse for a \"hotel\"

First of all, hotel has no reception. They never sent the password to activate the key app. Had to go to another location for a key. Then the room was a total fire hazard (see photo). Each time I go in and out of the hotel there were people frustrated with the mobile key not working. Even my physical key was not working half the time. And to top it off, there's a club blasting LOUD BASS way into the night on the roof. A complete joke of a \"hotel\" if you can even call it that.

I collected a key from the nearby sister hotel after arriving late at night and was pleased with the ease of access. The hotel was modern and so comfortable and clean. I did have to return to the other hotel to collect cups to drink tea from as the were none in the room. Highly recommend this great value hotel

Really liked this hotel. It is actually above a shopping centre which was both interesting and convenient.
The key on the phone is a nice touch and the room was modern, with a really good shower. Internet in the room was good, and being able to cast your phone to the TV was a really nice touch.

Rooms start on the 5th floor and although you can occasionally hear traffic, i slept very well and felt rested upon waking.

Note: You may need to check-in at the main hotel reception which is located about a 3 minute walk away.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

I would recommend this hotel and would gladly stay again.

The location of this property is excellent, short walk to all key places of interest. However, the instructions on how to find the exact location is very confusing and very hard to understand. My recommendation is for the property to provide future guests with a map to aid in finding the entrance.

The room itself was nice enough for the price - liked the water boiler, the shower had good water pressure, duvets and pillow cases appeared to be clean, liked that they provided shampoo and soaps, and replaced towels everyday.
The area is super convenient and walkable.
There were unfortunately some unsavory characters who slept in the stairwell on first floor at night, but in general felt safe. (Hotel on 5th and 6th floor).

Det var rent, og sengen var veldig god, kule farger og nært til både kollektiv transport og sentrum.
Det kom tikkelyder fra døren mellom oppholdsrom og bad, det var en smule irriterende når jeg skulle sove.
Savnet også ett lite kjøleskap, siden jeg måtte lage frokost selv.
Renholdsbetjeningen var flinke og imøtekommende.
Det opplevdes trygt fordi om det ikke var resepsjon.
Kjekt med kjøpesenter 2-3 etasjer ned.
Anbefales å overnatte der.

We did not actually stay at the Magic Exhibition as the lift was broken and rooms are on 5th floor. Check in was such a hassle.
Fortunately we found the service clerk at the sister hotel who was wonderful and changed us over to the sister hotel which was wonderful. We really felt sorry for her as she was on her own and had to deal with a lot of very frustrated customers who had trouble checking into the Magic Exhibition and also were not happy that the lifts were not working. The manager of this hotel needs to be fired for the absolute disgraceful way they treat guest.

This is a self service hotel, the 5th and 6th floors over a shopping mall. We had to go to another hotel to pick up the key to our room, and then track down a maintenance man from the shopping mall to show us where the elevator to the hotel rooms was. Away from the mall, the area around the elevator was dirty and ill kept. Our actual room was ok, clean and comfortable except it was steamy hot with a broken thermostat and no one to call to ask for relief. I thought the bathroom was ok, but my husband objected to the urine stains on the wall behind the toilet; I had not noticed them. The absolute worst thing was the bar on the 7th floor which held raves on Friday and Saturday night which didn’t quit till 3 am - the noise from voices was loud, and the music louder. Our whole room shook to the bass - BOOM BOOM BOOM!

As we left early Sunday morning to catch a train, the lift was out of order, and as we hauled our luggage down six flights of stairs, we had to wade through the trash left from the ravers the night before.

Great value for the price. Bathrooms are a bit oddly designed (it takes concerted effort to not get the carpet outside the bathroom wet while showering), and there seems to be no on-site ice machine or refrigerator in the room we stayed in (so don't expect to keep any cold beverages in the room), but otherwise, an excellent experience all around!

Unprofessional reception, a mischarged fee not refunded after a week, no response to my email, no apologies

One of the staff mischarged the accommodation fee although we had already paid it online. She explained the refund had been processed and was supposed to be paid by the next day but in fact it was not processed. I asked for a refund the next day but they didn't again.

On the following day, they sent me a blunt email (without any apologies) to ask about my bank account. I replied with a few questions but no response. I have received no update nor refund after a week of the stay.

I have to say I felt extremely uncomfortable. They are unprofessional and I can't recommend this hotel.

Fantastic location - noisy on the weekend!

Once you find it the location is fantastic. However weekends are noisy with a night club on the 7th floor that plays very loud music late into the night!

Good for shaft urban stays, not so for business

I had a short weekend stay in Bergen related to work, and was looking for a central located hotel. I chose Magic as I have never been to a Magic hotel before.

The check-in process was a bit difficult as I had to text back and forth with the hotel to register and pay to get my stay registered. When the stay was accepted, I had to use the not-so-good app to unlock the doors. It worked fine most of the times, but I had to restart the app every now and then. Also, the hotel does not have any obvious reception by the entrance, and the elevator is connected to the rest of the shopping center.

The location is very convenient, and the rooms were clean and of good standard with a nice design. However, it could be a bit tight for two persons. I also had some issues with the AC which didn’t seem to work, and the TV software crashed when trying to watch or stream.

As there was not much space in the room, and no lobby, lounge or restaurant, I wouldn’t prefer this hotel for bussiness trips. If you come to Bergen for a short stay and mostly spend the time exploring the city, then this hotel is a nice hub.

Butikker var nært, badet manglet lås, min kollega som bestillte identisk rom fikk ikke lystette gardiner, når hun ringte å spurte ang. Det fikk hun bare tilbake \"var det spesifisert i bestillingen? Kan uansett ikke gjøre noe med det, er ingen på jobb der nå\" lystette gardiner er en forventning, ikke et tillegg.

Kjempe fin plassering av hotellet, kult rom, persienner utvendig burde være oppe når det ikke er sol for de bråket veldig om natten i vinden. Ellers var det halv gjort rengjøring på lørdag og vi manglet en stor håndduk! Vi hadde 2 når vi ankom men når vi kom tilbake på rommet lørdags kveld var det bare en stor håndduk. Savnet også rn søppelbøtte på rommet, var kun en liten en på badet.
