I unfortunately can’t give a good recommendation this time because of the shower water pressure. I stayed for two days, but the pressure was so low I couldn’t take a proper shower.

I hope the hotel takes this complaint seriously, because my other stays have been good/excellent but the shower pressure really hurt my review this time. The room was 401

The location is very good. The front desk has different levels of service. Betty was outstanding. But when we checked in there was a male there who could not have cared less if we were there or not and did nothing to assist us other than give us our keys. Had it not been for Betty the next day we would have probably oeft the hotel. The location is good BUT it is very noisy from both our rooms - bars outside that carry on through the wee hours. Loud and annoying. Breakfast is very good - staff at breakfast very good too

The hotel was fine but the immediate local area is very noisy with late night bars throughout the week and early morning noisy deliveries to the ground floor supermarket. The window of opportunity for sleep is very limited which is not what you want on a holiday doing daytime excursions and sight seeing.

The hotel is great and so central and they serve a wonderful big breakfast. The staff are amazing especially Jenny. BUT I would never stay here again as the area is VERY noisy. I was there over the weekend and there were people talking and shouting in the streets till 4 AM. I just couldn’t sleep. The receptionist actually handed me ear plugs and it still didn’t help. The windows are not sound proof and it really is extremely distressing at night. This just spoils the good things about the property!

Paid to upgrade to superior room. Was on noisy side of hotel with loud noise until 3 am. Bathroom door did not close. Stayed six mights total.

Shops, bars and nightclubs nearby- but that means it was very loud in the room on Saturday night until about 2:30am. We used a couple white noise apps on two phones and were able to drown it out and go to sleep though.

Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast, though I would have liked more plant-based options. Rooms are clean with comfortable beds. Close to all the attractions, shopping centres and just a 5-minute walk to the light rail station.
My room was on level 3, but I could hear the noise from outside. The room is not soundproof.

The actual room was very much different from the picture shows in Expedia booking. When I asked the front desk if they gave me the wrong room, I was told that they have so many different rooms and can’t list out every single one. I was told that I can file my complaints with Expedia or the hotel. The room I booked is for two people. The space is for one person but they put a double bed so it can accommodate two. Due to it, there is only space left for a carry on luggage. The shower is small with no curtain or door. Water splashed all over the bathroom and is very slippery.

Hotel was fine and even though I had a larger of an average standard room, it was by my standards small without a desk or place to store clothing. Additionally bathroom while adequate and size did not have shower door so the floor would get wet continuously which is not something I equate four star luxury comfort.

Really happy with my stay at this property. Great location, central to downtown, fun vibe, AMAZING FREE BREAKFAST, and nice staff. No view from my room but I knew that before hand, I didn’t however know/realize that you have to go back outside to get to my room, it wasn’t a problem since it was August but in other months I would have been upset that I wasn’t told that prior. Our AC also didn’t seem to work at all, there seems to me an only bit of cool air coming from the vent but it is then completely blocked by the hood of the bed. I suspect they know this because they leave a fan in the room. The shower also floods the bathroom like crazy, again they give you a floor squeegee so it guessing this is a well known issue. I was also surprised there was no hand lotion or normal amenities other than shampoo and body wash in the bathroom, they have signs posted with the prices for ten and it felt very tacky. Happy the have a locked luggage room that you need a key for.

I only had 24 hours in Bergen as a stop on my trip, so valued proximity to the things I wanted to see. This hotel was exactly what I needed! It was a short walk from the market, fløibanen, shopping, and general sites in Bergen I wanted to explore. I was able to take a bus to/from the airport, but otherwise could walk to anything else I was interested in from the hotel. I was a little nervous about leaving my luggage in the closet since staff gave an access card for guests to manage it themselves, but I quickly learned there's a different level of trust in the Nordic countries that I wasn't used to. The room was clean, had a fan (great bonus in summer!), was quiet, and had anything I needed. The design was fun, but the decor did give me a bit of a visual headache (which I am prone to). That was the only downside, though. The breakfast was lovely and had a great variety as a send off in the morning. I appreciated my stay here and the convenience of its location for sure!

Very nice, welcoming hotel in a very convenient location. The room had everything I needed (other than possibly a kettle, but there was coffee and tea available downstairs) and was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was great and I also went to the restaurant downstairs for dinner which was very good. I would definitely come back!

The location is ideal for anyone visiting the city center, as it’s situated right in the heart of the pedestrian zone. The hotel is surrounded by a variety of restaurants and bars, and there’s a supermarket conveniently located just next door. As noted on the website, the room is quite small and does not have windows. The ventilation system can be a bit noisy at times. However, the breakfast was satisfactory, and it’s a nice touch that coffee and tea are available at all times in the lobby.

Central location a big positive. On the downside 3 bars along inside of the hotel (unfortunately ours) had very, VERY, noisy crowds outside EVERY night until 0300. The double glazing of there is certainly doesn’t work. A major negative on our 5 night stay

Long list of lacking things: My room had no closet or drawers, so I had to rummage through my suitcase for three days to get clothes. My room was not advertised as a no-window room, but in fact it had only a couple of skylights (easy to know when it was raining!). My shower had no door, so water covered nearly the entire bathroom floor. The shower also had no shelf for shampoo and soap, so I had to keep reaching to the floor for them. There was no nightstand next to my bed, so I had to keep my phone on the bed next to me, risking it falling off or getting lost in bedding. The room also had no mini-fridge. The housekeepers removed my wastebasket on day 1 and did not return it. In the breakfast room, there was no cream for coffee; one could only squirt some skim milk from a machine, if the machine was working (sometimes yes, sometimes no). The espresso machine stopped working on my second morning, so there was only drip coffee in a carafe. Front desk staff was nice but falsely told me there is no free street parking on weekends, so I would have to park in a garage. Actually, in most zones, parking regulation is suspended from 5pm on Saturday till 8am on Monday.

I got off to a rocky start my first night as I was the last to check in that night. Rooms should be assigned in the morning. Staff member had difficult guests before me and I had to wait 30 minutes for someone to show up at front desk. The room I booked was not available. I stayed at another hotel that had lots of issues. The following morning they checked me in early, gave me a choice of rooms, got me a fan and a credit for the previous night which was greatly appreciated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast and location. Ended on a good note.

Nice location. Very quiet and very comfortable beds. Nice breakfast selections. Very nice and helpful staff at the reception.

Rooms a little tired. Knew it lacked somethings but a better place to store cloths and a room safe would have been nice. I small fridge would be a nice touch as well. Fine for 2-4 days but longer stays than that might not work for some people.

I found this to be the perfect location. The staff was super friendly and helpful, the breakfast was huge and amazing. I love the sleek contemporary design of the rooms. There were signs with little extras you could get, like a fan, which was great.

Four stars because the room really lacked functionality. There were no nightstands, only one outlet by the bed, no USBs anywhere (had to choose between the fan or charging devices overnight). The bathroom was wildly dysfunctional. There was no place to put your things. Not a shelf even in the shower. And about 3 feet of totally unused space (so plenty of room for hooks or shelves). You can make it work but leaving detail in the review hoping they add some things to make life easier.

I stayed 3 nights and I found the area is not good because druggy people making noise outside and I found that Red Cross distribute free meals next to the hotel that’s they always mucking around. My wife was scared specially during the night.

For the location and price, this hotel can't be beat! Literally in the city center and steps away from the wharf and old town. Breakfast was great with many options. I enjoyed staying at this hotel mainly because of the room that was: very modern, new, clean, spacious & comfortable.
The included breakfast was a buffet with very good & tasty selection (warm & cold).
The location was perfect: most of the important objectives are in a walkable distance.
Cons: hallways were dull & narrow; tv had only 1 English channel (UK BBC); no conditioner; room service only on request.

Online reservations were made and a day added and confirmed by the hotel. On day of checkin they said res was one night, not two. I provided my documentation and they said make another reservation. Arriving at the hotel the front desk recognized their error but now I had an additional night. The bill showed the price for the last minute booking, not the price I had reserved three months prior. I explained again and it was corrected. Convenient location, close to bus, train and attractions. A stressful start to my trip to Bergen.

The Magic Hotel in Bergen was a 10 minute walk from the train station, as well as 10 minute walk to the light rail to get to the airport. It was very close to the harbour area of Bergen, and to the downtown/city center areas. The included breakfast was very good!

TV remote in room had no batteries, when I finally got TV switched on there was no audio or pictures on any channel! Luckily i wasn't on holiday to watch TV! There was an empty bottle of wine behind the TV too! Room compact and very little storage space. Comfortable bed. No door on shower so bathroom floor gets very wet, and lighting in bathroom not great. Hotel in a superb location in town centre close to main attractions, transport, bars, restaurants and convenience stores. However the area immediately outside hotel attracted a lot of homeless and addicts in the late afternoon/evening, rubbish in nearby streets. Room noisy at night due to thin windows and location in nightlife area. Good choice at the breakfast buffet and 15% off the adjacent Italian restaurant. Lift out of order when arrived but fixed quickly. Friendly reception staff.

A modern well kept hotel entered via the REMA1000 supermarket.
I found the external noise until gone 2am, happened by a group of many persons less fortunate than many, around the church opposite very intrusive.
I would also give that corner of the square a wide berth.
The room was compact but clean and a good breakfast was offered.

The breakfast spread was fantastic. There were so many unique options that made it stand out from other hotels. We also loved that they had individual body wash, shampoo, and lotion available. Sometimes I'm hesitant to use the big bottles that are used guest after guest at many hotels nowadays, but didn't have to deal with that worry here. The hotel is easy walking distance to the funicular. It's also walkable to the train station, though a bit longer of a walk.

The room was clean, modern and funky, with cool decor. The front desk staff were extremely helpful with giving us recommendations for restaurants and things to do in Bergen as well as with book us a taxi to the airport. The location was conveniently close to the train station and the Bryggen waterfront as well as many restaurants. However, it was pretty loud at night with people outside on the street. The bathroom also had a transparent pane that meant that if someone had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and turned on the light, the light would bleed into the whole room - the glass was positioned directly opposite the pillows on one side of the bed. The shower also had no door and a small lip and water splashed over the entire bathroom so we had to dry it because it was slippery.

This one is probably the worst I’ve ever lived. The shower has no door, no shower pan, no tub, only floor slab to catch water. It get water all over the place after bath and gets dangerously slippery. Highly not recommended! Ps, no ice machine and no ice at all…..
