Clean rooms and warm given how cold
It was. Restaurant on site was great.

Facilities great, plenty of parking, only 1 team member on reception at check in, she was on phone for a long time, tried calling room service several times but no one answered, had to go to bar to order room service, food was good though. Charged me incorrect account on checkout, guy that checked me out did not know how to credit my card, but person who rang me later in day helpful. Although a little dissapointing this stay will not put me hoff returning...
Kelly
Always my favourite place to stay when visiting Invercargill. Rooms are warm, beds are comfy, showers have good pressure and the parking is easy. Another huge bonus is having the indoor heated pool, spa and sauna along with the gym and restaurants on site. 10/10 value for money.

The staff were super helpful and allow me to change room due to a noisy neighbors.
Nice place for an overnight stay.

Room staff smells cigarette. Irritating to the nose of non smokers especially baby. Scent left in our room and we needed to open doors.
Lisa
Lovely peaceful and perfect for a conference
Gillian
One of the best motels we've stayed in. Unassuming but very comfortable, has everything we needed, great shower, comfortable bed, Nice hairdryer!

Room was clean

A beautiful hotel and the staff was excellent. We had a problem with a very loud neighbor and they moved us to another room that was actually an upgrade. The restaurant onsite is excellent as well.

One word...Fantastic. great service. Deserts and meals in general were 1st class.

We stayed in the separate units from the main area and it was tidy, recently renovated and nice! Older exterior but well renovated, clean and snug with dedicated parking. Would stay here again.
Murray Vicki
Great place. Sponsors motorsport so that's why I stay there
Ian
Fantastic hotel, lovely staff and great food
Johnna
The room was great, as expected for the price, however the cost of food was ridiculous. The location is a little bit away from the center of town, and they're sure taking advantage of that to jack up the in-room food prices.
Wayne
Good restaurant, convenient having a bar on the grounds.
Chris
The motel room was spacious and super clean. Loved the garden setting and the quietness. The rooms may be dated in layout style but have been modernised in all other ways. The bed was super comfy. Overall we had a great style at a reasonable price.
Michael

Very outdated motel style room but clean. Restaurant on site, my roast beef of the day was very full of fat and grizzle. The room was value for money.

LAWRENCE
Arrived at the hotel in the midst of a severe wind storm. The front desk staff were busy dealing with multiple issues including a new reservation system, but were polite and offered 2 drink vouchers to use while awaiting check-in. They were quickly able to get us checked in. Rooms were clean and comfortable with parking right outside the room. Beds were comfortable. Check out was simple. All staff were very accommodating and polite.
Alan
Rooms were in separate part of motel. Our travellers reported they were grimy and filthy with dishes left in the sink - disgusting was the word they used. Well below any acceptable standard or as advertised. The only saving grace was a comfortable bed and the sports bar. We will not be back.
Jesus
Highly recommended
Eliza
This hotel is awesome! We received a free upgrade to a 1-bedroom apartment which was so lovely and such a nice surprise! The Emberz bar was great with delicious well-priced food. Our son loved the pool and sauna. We will definitely be back, thanks so much Ascot Hotel!
Craig
The staff are awesome
Brendan
Make sure you get a room in the main building, it’s all a bit dated outside and the bar is a little old school…staff are excellent, room is great (outdoor sliders need to be binned) and good value. Ate in the bar, great staff and good value.
Shawn
Really enjoyed my stay here
Vic
The Buffet meal could of been hotter, otherwise everything pretty good
Peter
Very convenient location.
Hilletje
The kids enjoyed the swimming pool. Breakfast was great. Room was nice. Great location and quiet, easy parking. Really enjoyed our stay.
Brett
Great food, restaurant and bar options.
Joe
Very easy, great for kids
Innocenzo
As the title says, we are staying in the Hotel, but actually it was the motel, which in actual fact was more convenient for us as it was easier to load and unload gear from the car without having to go through corridors and lifts. The rooms are old , but well kept, and the little kitchenet was very handy
JENNIFER
Plenty of dinning options, convenient access from room
Louise
Amazing hotel, except I think $49.50 for the blue cod was over priced and under rated
Fiona
Comfortable stay.
We enjoyed our stay. The room was warm and comfortable and in easy walking distance of the Sports Bar where we had dinner. Staff there were fantastic!
The only negative was the shuttle bus driver we had in the morning. He didn’t get out the drivers seat to unlock the boot for our luggage then when he picked up two elderly guests, one with obvious mobility issues, he again stayed in the van. My husband got out and assisted them with their luggage and getting in. He also assisted them getting out and putting their suitcases on the path for them. The driver we had the night before was fantastic.

Nice hotel, great shower, comfy bed and a good linen.
Hotel restaurant was very good.
Hotel restaurant was very good.
Alice
The hotel was clean and warm, the bed was comfortable. The staff are friendly. It was good for my business trip needs, as the room had a kitchenette and living area. The property is a little dated, but not distracting.
Tao
Well located , very convenient to reach
Fiona
The room we stayed at was renovated and the bathroom/shower facilities was very nice. During the early hours of the morning, kids were running back and forth along the corridor which caused some noise in our room. Overall the stay was great however on the morning of checkout, was disappointingly woken up to housekeeping team at 8.30am (before checkout time) knocking on our door. Without giving us an opportunity to answer, within a few seconds they were able to come into the room even with the security lock on. While I understand a hotel reserves the right to be able to access any hotel room, on this occasion it made us feel unsafe knowing the security lock can be so easily opened. While they were quick to apologize and leave the room upon seeing that it was all dark as we were still sleeping, we felt they should've at least double-checked before insisting on coming in. This incident was such a shame as it did spoil our impression of the overall stay.
Janette
Great place to stay
Jantje
Very comfortable and quiet
Jean
Wifi not good enough
No problems apart from poor wifi reception and choice on TV. I’d prefer to pay more and get good wifi. Other than that perfect for us.
Anne
This place was fantastic the minute we stepped into the reception area. Many thanks to your fabulous receptionist, she was outstanding. First time in Invercargill and it was a pleasure.
Mark
Nice and quiet, good bar and restaurant.
Stephen
A pleasant place. No pretensions but clean enough and comfortable (I stayed in the hotel, not the motel, so I don’t know what the motel rooms are like). The staff were welcoming and helpful. The restaurant was surprisingly good. The hotel is a little way outside the cbd so only convenient if you have a car. The pool is very ugly and the gym is a disaster - two out of four machines broken and the weight bench so rickety that it’s too dangerous to use. If a pool or a gym are important to you, I’d suggest going elsewhere. Otherwise, this is a good choice.
Donald
Front and rear entrance to the room. We got a complementary upgrade. Noise from adjoining room door slamming was annoying at 6:30 am!
Brett
Always be my first option if I’m in town, great services

Friendly Staff
We arrived late at night and the staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Hotel grounds are beautiful with giant pine trees and well manicured lawns perfect for a stroll with a coffee.

The gym is in separate units and you have to get a key from the staff member to use hence limit the ease of access.

Shower not nice
it did give a hard time in showering.
No pressure in running the water.

Kerry
Huge hotel that had plenty of space with rooms both in a complex and separately as a motel style. There was quite a wait as a large group was checking in just as I arrived, and they seem to have a reluctance to provide a receipt when paid through Expedia group. But friendly enough and a good stay. Very comfortable and warm. Sadly there is a main road nearby that a group decided to use for a burnout competition for about an hour around 1130. Cannot tell if this is a regular occurrence - and if I was in the main complex I probably would not have heard it. Definite option for a stay again next trip.
