Spacious Room

Spacious room with all the amenities including large display screen if that's of interest. A supermarket across the street and short drive to CBD. No road noise even though on highway so with a comfortable bed was a good place to sleep. Room had excellent heating.

Friends road trip stop-over

Two twin rooms suited us well. The unit was quiet and comfy, yet close to shops and places to eat. The manager was really helpful in tracking us down to say we'd left belongings and we arranged to send post-bags to retrieve them. WIFI in the unit was not reliable; OK at reception.

Great size and facilities

The first thing we noticed when we walked in was the size of would be one of the biggest rooms I've ever rented. A good sized kitchen 3 seater couch and a recliner chair with a good size 4 seater table and big screen tv.. The bedroom was a similar size and separate toilet and bathroom.
Located right on the edge of town, good parking and easy access there was really nothing negative that is worth mentioning.
It is an old motel but space and facilities were great and more than make up for older styling. I'd take that of cramped and modern any time.
The price was very reasonable for what you get.
I did see one of the studio rooms and it again was large and well appointed

Always impressive

I was staying for work. I arrived at about 7pm and was gone by 7am so it really was just a place for me to sleep. But I was impressed with the suite/apartment. The sofa proved too comfortable and I woke up at about 2am and forced myself to go to bed. I knew that was going to be an issue when I scrolled through the selection of tv channels. Much more than the standard ones you get in most hotels/motels. There is a supermarket just across the road which is very convenient. Friendly, helpful staff as well.

This is a comfortable - and really clean - place to stay in Invercargill. Although it is on a main route, we had no road noise. (We did have noise from kids staying at the motel, but it is a bit hard to fault the establishment for that.)

Centrally Located

This is a well located family motel. It is a little older and in need of an update but still warm and clean.
As first impressions mean everything the only negative would be that someone who works in reception is a smoker and the smell was rather off putting.

COMFORTABLE, QUIET AND CENTRAL MOTEL

We selected this motel at random from the Wotif website, and were so glad we chose Birchwood Manor. Its central location on Tay Street, close to the city and other facilities was ideal. Set back off the busy main road, there was virtually no traffic noise. The proprietors, David and Sue made us welcome and were very pleasant and helpful, especially with WiFi connection. Our upstairs unit was spacious, warm, and furnished with quality furniture and equipment - felt very homely.
A most enjoyable stay - we added another two nights to our original 3-night booking. Will certainly stay here again, and recommend to others.
