Location of this hotel is central with walking distance to restaurants and supermarket. Hotel room is clean and fairly good value. Staff is nice and helpful. However, Invercargill is too depressing in winter. Will never come again

While it appeared clean, the bed sheet had a couple of minor dark stains, it smelled like it had been washed, but think that sheet shouldn’t have been reused.

While the hotel looks old on the outside & reception, the rooms are actually quite nice. I’d stay again.

The staff were very friendly too. They had a new person working the front desk who did very well!

If you are just wanting a place to use and have other plans hen this place is ok. If you are wanting a more vibrant place. Then go elsewhere. Clean and amenities ok but no dining experience and no bar. Not classy

Easy access to parking with limited space availability. Interesting building (former postal office). Spacious room with tall ceilings, functional kitchennette, and washer/dryer in bathroom. Overall, great staff. Kliffy was particularly kind (forgive me if I didn't get the name right). Very convenient walk to lots of dining options around.

Great Location

The location was great. The room and bathroom were very clean but the bed was very uncomfortable and way too soft. I made the mistake of booking a studio room which was very small and stuffy and although we were only on the second floor the windows could not be opened.

Good hotel for a quick stop

The apartment we stayed in was great. It was much more spacious than I expected and had everything we needed. We loved having the washer/dryer in unit to catch up on laundry during our trip around the south island.

My wife was bothered by the incense or scented oil smell they used here. It was on the excessive side.
The parking was also not ideal. They do have 'on-site' parking near the hotel entrance but it's a very small lot. We were given a pass but left to go explore some areas and came back to a full parking lot. We had to park our car on the street overnight and I had to get up and move the car into the parking lot in the morning to avoid paying for a couple of hours of parking on the street after 8 AM. They really could use a bigger lot or better parking options.

Ok one night stay

Have stayed in better Quest accommodation.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Make sure you book a room with laundry facilities if needed
You cannot access washing facilities outside of reception hours. Also room info out of date from 2022.
Reception tried to charge twice price for washing and drying but did only charge lower amount once I pointed out the room booklet stated a different amount

Compared to the other quest properties we have stayed in, this one, and an older building, was just average. There was no cooktop and no washer dryer, things which were present in the others we stayed in. The area around the hotel is somewhat nondescript, although it is not a long walk to restaurants and markets are a short drive. Overall, this facility was OK for one night when passing through but otherwise unremarkable.

Beautiful room and well appointed.

Newly refurbished old building in heart of Invercargill. Stylish room which was spacious and light filled and well appointed.
Staff forgot to replenish continental breakfast supplies on 2nd day but all round a great experience.
No cafe or restaurant on site but good options close by.

Good checkin. Phone in room has wrong information on it. Heat pump not connected. Dirty hand prints on ceiling in bathroom. Possibly heat pump installers. Shower curtain and bathtub had red discolouring a pre curser to mould. One chair had crumbs and gum wrapper behind chair cushion. I have stayed before in a 1 bedroom apartment and could not fault it.
I will come again as it is a great location.

Cosy spacious room nicely presented.

Very spacious room presented very nicely. I was in top floor and as my room had been recently insulated it was warm and cosy so really appreciate the great work the new owner is doing to insulate the top rooms. Nice staff.
Only issue is the parking which can be tricky - think that the carparks should be numbered and allocated to guests who can pay extra for a carpark - there were not many parks and alot appeared to have non guest cars taking up the spaces which is really annoying especially on cold wet Invercargil days.I would be happy to pay extra for a guaranteed car park space.

Clean, Comfortable and Convenient

Have stayed at the Quest at various cities in Australia and New Zealand and have never had a complaint. Staff at the Quest Invercargill were friendly and helpful, and the apartment was clean and comfortable. The only issue is that there is renovation presently in progress adjacent to the Quest (in the same block) and this can at times be noisy during the day ---- cannot fault the Quest or the staff for this, but it's something to bear in mind, and if you are looking to rest / sleep during the day, check with the staff if you can get a room away from the renovation area.

Invercargill is a bustling city with all the positives and negatives that come with it. The traffic was always making noise. Parking was okay, but again not the best. The elevator, nicknamed \"Buddy,\" seemed to be \"on it's last legs.\" We used the stairs as much as we could. However, the room itself was clean and comfortable though smaller than many others we booked in NZ.

We had a lovely stay thanks and the staff were all friendly and obliging. We stayed last year and had a much larger apartment. I didn't realise that this time they would be smaller but it was fine. Only comment would be ac cess to the wardrobe was limited and we had to put our bags in the corners. All good though. Cheers

Lovely hotel with good facilities.

Very enjoyable stay in beautifully restored building.
The apartment was unexpectedly large and every amenity had been thought of with unexpected extras. Room servicing was very efficient and thorough.
The one little problem was the locals doing laps in the Main Street which was very noisy until late on Saturday night. Apparently it is a regular event and the hotel has double glazing and provides ear plugs to help negate the problem.
Only a minor problem which the hotel acknowledges and apologises for.
