Rude and condescending reception staff, would only talk to my husband, a ridiculous check in process of passports - not had that anywhere else in Australia. The property is falling to pieces, floor boards which feel like you will fall through them, tiles falling off the wall in the bathroom. The view which was their main selling point was questionable as had loads of run down buildings in front of you. Expected a lot better

Easy and comfortable place to stay at this grand old hotel. May account for the odd musty smell at times. The bar entrance area is a great place to sit with a view, beautifully upholstered arm chairs with an art deco vibe.
Stayed in the heritage room - standard basic room - so no view and the bathroom was dated and in need of a reno. But clean and comfortable. The bed was the best. King size and really comfortable. The room was spacious and pleasant. Tv needs an upgrade to smart tv.
Parking is easy and free.
Pool hotel is a great place after a walk in the national park - which is glorious!!
Initially booked for 3 nights and booked an additional night. Great place to visit. 😊

Not modern and ultra cool but, wonderfully, a hark back to yesteryear which is exactly what you look for in a Blue Mountains stay. Could do with a little post covid maintenance but highly recommend for those wanting to experience Katoomba as it is meant to be. Would definitely stay here again.

The staff were amazing! From the front desk to the servers and bar tenders, all staff were exceptional. The room was dated as to be expected in a heritage building. They were very clean and comfortable though. Nothing beat the view overlooking Katoomba and the blue mountains. We were lucky enough to get to dine with the most beautiful sunset.

View was great. Big big ridiculous downer was if you want to order bar food and your significant other want to order the restaurant you could not bring in the bar food to the restaurant which is utterly ridiculous. Other than that everything was fabulous.

Lovely Pool to cool off in after a day spent walking through the Blue Mountains. Room was delightful with a gorgeous view. Staff were attentive, considerate and courteous. When a hiccup occurred they kindly sorted it. Thank you. Oh and the pianist - AWESOME!

This is a very old building. Really needs some updating, paint, good power washing. Ex. Old single pane windows with spiders inside! The rugs are very old and stained in the room, cracked sink and caulking in tub is really yucky. The staff are very nice and they make it feel more upscale than the hotel actually is. Breakfast is nice, service is nice, mountain view is beautiful over a street and homes though. I don’t mind old but there is ways to keep it vintage with newer upgrades for a more pleasant stay.

Room was clean but everything in the hotel is faded and worn. They are trading on the views given from some rooms and dining area.
A lift is definitely required as the stairs are steep and narrow.
Breakfast was adequate but the hot options needed to be microwaved as they were nearly cold.
Would not stay again.
Except for the view a standard motel has better rooms.

The initial room was unsatisfactory. The power point in the bathroom was faulty - any item plugged in was loose thus posed a danger, the air con was poorly placed as it directed air over the bed, there were no flyscreens on the windows so if opened let in insects, and the TV exhibited problems even the staff couldn't figure out.
I asked for another room and we were moved to that room which was better.
The staff were courteous and helpful and the dinner at the Jamieson was very good.
The Friday night entertainment - piano in the bar - was very enjoyable as well.

The room and adjoining bathroom were both spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed.
The restaurant was lovely with a beautiful view of the Blue Mountains, although, the picture windows could do with a clean.
The breakfast was wonderful, with grab and go options, as well as order from the menu hot meal options, both sweet and savoury.
We had dinner once, in the dining room, and the meal was beautiful. It was a fine dining experience, but casual dress was acceptable.
The hotel has old world charm, and is quite lovely. The floorboards do have a bit to say, so I'm not sure how much noise the rooms downstairs would hear? You do hear residual noises from doors closing, but otherwise, it's a very quiet hotel, within walking distance from Katoomba train station and the main shopping precinct. The hop on/off bus was a fabulous way to see the Blue Mtns if you don't have a car.
We would stay here again.

We had a great stay at this hotel. All the services were excellent, and the location was very convenient — close to the town center and nearby attractions. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, always ready to assist with anything we needed. Check-in was very fast and easy, which made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the area!

Great place to stay for blue mountains. Be careful if staying as they have no lifts so if you struggle walking up and down stairs ask for ground floor room

Amazing views from the mountain view room. The hotel is old (heritage listed) so don't expect all the mod cons but what they do have they do well. Staff are ultra friendly and it's actually the only hotel I have had that has called me to ask if everything is ok. The walk to the main street is close although a bit hilly. Lovely large fluffy towels that my wife loved

Beautiful old building with very impressive views

We enjoyed three nights here and after paying for an upgrade we secured a nice room with a small gas fireplace and spa bath. We didn’t use the spa, however the fireplace was a nice touch and kept our room surprisingly warm. We always like a room with a couch and table also.

The bathroom was a little worn, with chipped tiles and very dirty grout around the toilet base.

I was disappointed with housekeeping. We used wine glasses, drinking glasses, coffee mugs and spoons on our first night, which I rinsed out and left on the vanity, however in three days these never moved, they were not replaced or washed up.

Also disappointed, that despite paying close to $1500 for our stay, I was charged an additional $3 for about a tablespoon of Hollandaise sauce on the side of my breakfast. I was informed of this charge prior to receiving the sauce, but it still didn’t sit right.

The views, the front desk staff and restaurant staff all did a great job and seemed genuinely happy to work there.

Mountain Heritage hotel

A heritage hotel should also do the necessary renovations. Room and bathroom really need renovation. Very kind staff. Food quality in restaurant for dinner very good. Food for breakfast very basic. No fruits, vegetables or whatever is healthy. Nice view from the elevated hotel location into the mountains. Anyway, we have enjoyed our stay.

Perfect Mountain retreat

Old world charm hotel. Lobbies/lounges are cosy with fireplaces and ample choice of board games to play with the family. Bar and restaurant are also lovely especially for the views of the Blue Mountains. Walking distance to Katoomba St where there are restaurants and shops and short drive to Katoomba Scenic World, Leura and the Chocolate Company. Room tidy however a bit dusty in corners e.g behind bedside desks as I have asthma and it affects me. Could provide some basic amenities like shower caps. Hot water took long time to run for shower and wasn’t much force. Bathrooms could be renovated. Laundry service not available (was under maintenance) and we were relying on doing some washing however they allowed us to use their dryer which was nice. Lovely staff especially Tracey at the restaurant.

Kids absolutely loved the room - it was spacious and clean with a cosy fireplace in the room. The only thing was that the restaurant was a bit nitpicky with making the kids pay for an 18 dollar continental breakfast when they are only 3 and 5 years but eat barely anything, even though the adults already ordered a full breakfast and the continental breakfast is meant to be complimentary.
