Very easy to park. Very lovely staff members. Stayed in a room with 2 beds which is comfortable and clean. Funitures are old style, the sofa in our room is very old and worn out, and is covered with bed sheets. And the lights are quite dark like most of the hotels. Sauna downstairs is very comfortable and good but the little Spa is out of order. It looks better in the pictures. In reality, It could be more splendid.

Only stayed one night, our room was spacious and comfortable. Clean room and clean bathroom. Very quiet. Alas no lift, so needed to go up 2 flights of stairs to the first floor, room 304. We also had the continental breakfast which was very satisfying offering cereal, fruit, yogurt, toast and pastries along with tea and coffee. Close to Scenic World and Katoomba main st. Friendly staff. Enjoyed our stay.

Palais Royale is well placed for a stay in the Blue Mountains. Katoomba main street with a good choice of shops and restaurants / cafes is a short walk away ( 3 minutes). The hotel itself is an historic building in the town. It has lots of original features . Rooms are spacious and comfortable. The en suite has a bath / shower in the style of the original fittings. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant wasnt open in the evening at our time if stay so we ate out in the town at one of the nearby restaurants. A nice place and comfortable for our stay.

Hotel is in a great location but we had booked a deluxe twin room and the beds were so soft, the room was anything but deluxe with a view of a wall and so outdated and the included continental breakfast was tinned fruit in syrup and plain yoghurt and toast. Definitely can do much better for the price. On the plus, the shower was good.

I had great expectations, but really old, lumpy pillows and threadbare towels for $334 a night is disgraceful! No complementary bottle of water and charging extra for breakfast at that price is ridiculous. I would not stay here again. Staff were lovely, and temperature of the room was great if i had to say something positive.

A wonderful hotel.

I usually stay at the Carrington on my rare visits to Katoomba, however the Carrington was fully booked for the one night and day I had at Katoomba. The Palais Royale is a beautifully restored hotel with equally welcoming hosts and a nice pleasant walk from the station. The continental brekky was good enough to start any day.

Now I'm retired, I will be back for a longer stay very soon.

The Palais Royale is centrally-located, and near an excellent restaurant (Canton Palace) that we visited for dinner. Disappointing that the Palais only has breakfast SOME mornings so don't rely on it! We had to go up the street on a very cold morning to obtain our breakfast at a local cafe. Maybe they could offer a self-service continental breakfast on those days? The central heating is warm but even turned up to 30deg it was not T-shirt comfortable.

Would highly recommend to everyone. We would stay again. Staff were welcoming and helpful. They have breakfast and dinner downstairs which was lovely and convenient. The spa was unavailable but that was ok, we enjoyed the sauna very much. All facilities was very tidy and clean. Location was very close to great hiking spots and local restaurants/cafes. Parking was perfect too and safe. Exterior and interior of the hotel was very nice and makes great photos as well.

I was told that dinner would be served in the night. On arrival we were informed that dinner was not available but breakfast was. The second morning we went again to the dining area for breakfast. No one there, walked to reception, no breakfast. We were told we could walk up to the corner, some place would be open and we could have our breakfast there. Totally disappointed.

Very Pleasant Stay

We had a very pleasant overnight stay at Palais Royale. The hotel was well-located & within walking distance of shops,restaurants & cafes. The staff were very friendly, both at reception & the waitress at breakfast. Our room, although not huge, was very comfortable. The bathroom was smallish but adequate. It did take the hot water in the shower a long time to come on. The whole hotel was very old world and had a lot of character. I’d be more than happy to stay there again

Nice place with old style and charm

Room was huge. The spa worked well. Lovely sitting area. There was also a sitting area and small bar which looked nice.
The kitchen was closed so no option for breakfast but lots of cafes up the road.

The location is quite good being a short walk from the cafe's a restaurnats on the main street.
As a pro-tip, if you can afford to rent a triple room instead of a double, the rooms are 10sqm bigger and have a beautiful feel.
Ours was Room 206 at the front of the building with a huge and beautiful leadlight windown and no noise penalty.

Reasonable hotel that’s centrally located

We decided the day before to take a last minute trip to the Blue Mountains from Sydney. There was not a lot of choice at that stage but was glad this hotel was available at a reasonable price. This hotel was centrally located.Check in was ok. Room seemed clean. The only negative was part of the shower was broken-(main part still functioned) and was lying in side cupboard waiting to get fixed. Reasonable stay.

Very cozy, quiet and ideally located.

This was a very quaint well appointed room with all the items you would need for comfort and was very well located centrally in town.

If you are coming for the spa or sauna though you'll be disappointed because its closed due to covid, i wish they mentioned that on their site.
