Room was very tired and dirty and pillows stank of fish. Requested them to be replaced.
A lot of noise from restaurant above our room.
Restaurant food I had there was awful but in contrast the breakfast and service for that was excellent. The view was superb from the room but had neighbours on both sides peering in over balconies. Lacks privacy. The parking is convenient.

What a wonderful hotel and a what a truly memorable stay we had!!
From easy, friendly check-in and the cleanliness and comfort of our room, to the fabulous lounges, restaurants and bars, everything was perfect.
I suppose we were a little disappointed that our 40th wedding anniversary was not acknowledged by the staff, despite them being aware of it, but I imagine so many guests are there to celebrate a special occasion, that they don’t feel the need to do anything special, but it would have been nice, even a couple of chocolates in our room, or a cut flower from one of the many plants around the beautiful gardens. That said, we could not fault the hotel or the experience we had, and we will most certainly look at visiting again one day.

This boutique hotel has about a dozen rooms. Located near Echo point in Katoomba there are amazing Blue Mountains views. I had a corner balcony with stunning views (though it was too cold/windy to sit on balcony). Room was spacious, but shower-room was awkwardly small (and had single-use plastic mini toiletries). Breakfast upstairs also had fab views and was great food, but service was very slow as there aren’t enough staff.

I called ahead to let them know we would be checking in later than I thought which meant the hotel reception is not manned , check in would now be via their sister hotel Lilianfels, all ran smoothly and the staff were attentive. One thing to note about the Echoes is there is no lift, our room was on the lower level and quite a few steps to take our luggage down. Lilianfels sent across staff who assisted with the luggage which I thought was good.
I thought with the rate $750 per night we had paid that the room would of been more inviting, was an odd shape and the furnishings are tired, the carpet was discoloured and sticky, a good carpet clean or replacement is definitely needed, bathroom could of been cleaner, and no fan worked whilst showering which filled the room with steam.
Pros where the little walk out balcony to which you have a small view of the mountains on that level, upstairs is breakfast which has the views
I think our next visit to the blue mountains we would definitely choose to stay at Lilianfels instead

Very Overpriced

Our room was ready right on the check in time of 3pm. It would have been nice to check in earlier since the weather was miserable. We checked in at the sister hotel Lilianfels as there was no staff at our hotel. The room was tidy. The bathroom was so very very tight and tied, you could not fit more than one person in there. There is not enough parking on the premises especially of an evening which is very frustrating in wet weather.

One of the most memorable views from a hotel room I’ve ever had the privilege to experience. The view from the terrace is unmatched both day and night, assuming you have a clear sky for star gazing. The room itself was comfortable but quite tired. Lots of scuffs, wear and tear. Clearly it has been much loved for many years but is in need of a minor face lift. That said, it was perfectly clean and didn’t detract front the stay. It would take a lot more to make me regret booking a room with that view. I’ll surely remember the tranquility and scenery above all else.

Couple stay. Only stay for the view

Stayed overnight for blue mountains. It was a disappointment arriving as you have to check in a different hotel and then drive to echo hotel. There is reception there but no staff at this hotel. Hotel and rooms need a massive refurbishment. Money they are charging to stay here is over priced and I would only stay here again for the view of the mountains from the bedroom at a discount. Didn’t eat at either restaurants because not much to choose from. Spa treatments not available and closed for refurbishment I believe. We was very disappointed. Carpets and sofas in our room stinks of pets and wasn’t very clean and the shower was broken and needed replacing so wasn’t a proper shower unfortunately.

The worst customer service in the world!! We got there on the 20th April just to be told that they have moved our date to the 25 May, which is what we requested however Expedia did not confirm this with us and told us our request were declined! To date Expedia has not sent our confirmation for the date change, and sends out this survey.. what do you expect me to say! I’m disgusted by the service and hope that someone from Expedia calls me to confirm my stay on the 25 May

Wonderful location, garden and view is amazing! Staff are lovely but the hotel overall is in need of a complete revamp. Door in our bathroom jammed and was very difficult to close, furnishings were worn, airconditioning was inconsistent and there was a funny smell in the room. There was also lots of noise from the adjoining rooms. I really wanted to love our stay here, but unfortunately was unwhelmed by the experience.

Just a great place to stay and relax with easy access to the attractions of the Blue mountains. Food on site was very high end. This is an observation, not a complaint, the dimming options are high end full formal price fixed multi course meals. We went into town for something lighter and less formal.

We loved the charm of the hotel, and being a boutique hotel it only has a small number of rooms. The location being on the edge of the escarpment is magic, the views are magnificent and the gardens are glorious. The staff, food and service is of a very high standard, professional but also friendly. This is a great little hotel to celebrate a special occasion or just be a tourist.

Echoes is looking a bit tired. The bar doesn’t open until 5.30pm so there’s nowhere to snuggle up with a book and a bevy. The food was excellent, as was the service in restaurant, but the bar service was lacklustre. The bar staff were pleasant but lacked warmth and confidence.

Having worked in a hotel myself, I know what to look for.
I could not fault the staff at all during my stay.
We ate at the restaurant and had breakfast across the road in Lillian Fels. Each experience was excellent.
The only criticisms are that the spa bath looked a bit tired and the air conditioning was noisy, but once the room was warm, we just turned it off. There is one other thing, and I have found this in other hotels, two guests, but only one luggage rack.
Apart from that, the view was the best of any hotel I’ve ever stayed in, and that’s saying something.
Once again, staff - amazing, view - to die for. HIGHLY recommend.

Well maintained and comfortable property with excellent views and shared amenities with Lilianfels resort adjacent. Very solid welcome and reception assistance. Dining room has some work to do - limited options and could use more direction on the service front - very green staff. Mains were well prepared and beautiful presentation but appetizers and accompaniments had been prepared in advance - delicious warm steak with chilly potatoes, and expertly cooked scallops had cooled down.

Grossly Overrated

The hotel is unfortunately grossly over-rated. It used to be good but has now been taken over by a consortium that owns and runs Lillianfels, Hydro-magestic and another. I was informed there was a Tesla charger at the sister hotel next door and upon arriving and needing a charge they showed me a power point. I had not taken my charger as I was assured there was a Tesla charger. There were in fact 2 x Audi chargers (one was not working) but no good to me. The next day upon returning to our room after being out the door had not been shut properly and anyone could have gone in. The staff were very apologetic but this was pretty bad. The bathroom was very un-user friendly with a shower over the spa tub and no safety railing to hold onto. One had to be careful not to slip. The TV was useless and did not have any foxtel which again with a hotel of this calibre it should be available. There were no power points either side of the bed for charging devices but they were across the room which was very inconvenient. The staff were very polite but a lot is lost in translation. The hotel did not include breakfast and for the enormous nightly tariff this should have been included. On a positive note the restaurant must have had the best food and presentation I have ever tasted.

The garden room we were given at echo boutique had no privacy as other guests looked straight in the room as they roamed the garden in front of our room. That part of the garden should not be accessible to others. We were moved to a lovely room in Lilianfels as a result of our complaint.
The restaurant at echoes was superb in every respect.

The best views of the Blue Mountains

Amazing place and location. We really enjoyed the fact that the hotel is small and friendly. Rooms are for the most spacious and have excellent outdoor seating with breathtaking views.

As we visited just after the COVID-19 re-opening it seemed staff were a little overwhelmed with the rush to the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Book the restaurant early.

You can use all the facilities of lilianfels which is just across the road. For our personal preference we much prefer the rooms here to Lilianfels, more contemporary and style and the balcony was incredible view is a huge plus.

Room was very tired looking with threadbare carpets, noisy air condition and bathroom exhaust was not effective in clearing steam. Menu also didn’t deliver to what was printed. Had to ask and send back after asking again to match the printed menu.

Fantastic stay, have already recommended to friends and I will be back myself too. The deluxe view room was amazing, better then the picture. Restaurant was great. Staff were lovely. Location was very close to 3 sisters and walking paths. They were very COVID Safe, and the changes they have made to cater for covid like breakfast to your table were welcomed.
Only down side was the spa booked out so quick and far in advance and we didnt realise, so we weren't able to use the day spa. I highly recommend prebooking your restaurant spots and spa treatments, even a few weeks out if you can. My recommendation to the hotel would be to email guests when they book to encourage them to book things like this in advance so they dont miss out.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel with welcoming anniversary plate of strawberries and chocolates in the room and at dinner. Staff were friendly but information we would of liked such as where things were located would of been nice upon check in, there was a map in the room but we found that the following day not really bothered we just asked.
The view was amazing, bath was scratched on the bottom, bathroom aged and pillows and bed was a little bit uncomfortable but not unbearable.
If you are wanting to do something at the spa call as I emailed a month prior with no response by the time I did get a response they were booked out again we were not bothered just so others are aware if it is a must on your list to do.
Lady who served us at dinner was very nice and helpful, and the food was amazing quail was delicious and the tenderloin was cooked perfectly. Really enjoyed our evening at the restaurant with a pianist playing.
The room is slightly aged but overall it was a nice, quiet stay with beautiful views, we wish we could stay an extra day.
Didn't get a chance to use the sauna or anything but did use the pool room which was nice to relax and play a few games.
Thank you for giving us a nice stay we really enjoyed it and I do recommend to stay here. Summer would be a lot better with day light savings enjoying the view a little but more and being able to enjoy the outside.

Lied to us at the cost of our health and comfort

First and foremost, at the time of writing the fires are causing havoc and devestation across Australia and our thoughts are with all of those affected.

We booked a 2 night stay here. We were concerned about the fires and after emailing the hotel to air said concerns, they advised us a day ahead of our stay that the bushfires surrounding the area would not affect our safety or comfort during our time there.

Upon arrival, the entire mountain was engulfed in smoke, with ash falling from the sky. We checked online and the air quality was in the red, labelled as Hazardous. That evening in our hotel room, the smoke continued to sting our eyes and itched at our throats.

We had to leave the next day, it was that bad, but after trying to reason with the hotel management, they have refused to offer even a partial refund. It really is disgusting behaviour on their part.

I strongly discourage visiting this hotel and encourage anyone invested in it to demand a shake up of the management.
