The only drawback to the room was very limited lighting but otherwise rooms were very clean. The breakfast did not have a lot of choices at all there wasn't even butter just for regular toast it was just all jellies otherwise the place was very clean very convenient and the people were very nice

I drive for a living so I booked this stay to get out of my truck for the night. Hotel smells odd I guess because it's old & they have smoking rooms. My tub drained very slow so I took a bathshower.. Breakfast wasnt all that, they had cereal, toast, coffee & waffles. The gentleman that works in the front desk in the morning was very nice.

All of the rooms are accessed by one small entrance. The hallway reeks of cigarettes. There was loud barking dog, frequently just a few doors down. The room itself appeared clean but had a very strong cleaner odor that did not dissipate. I imagine this was to try to cover up the cigarette odor.
Someone was arrested one of the evenings I stayed.
Breakfast did not include any hot food except coffee and a waffle maker.
Will not stay again.

PLEASE PLEASE Do NOT stay here. The BUGS, our room had two different species of bugs, VERY DIRTY. It is not safe at night due to no lights in parking lot, no lights in room halls, room keys don't work and help has to be called in because the staff is untrained. Some wall outlets did not work. A horrible brown mess around toilet. Don't look up. Something is falling from the door frames. During shower the water did not drain from bathtub leaving us standing in water. During breakfast the coffee pots were empty, the milk was sour, there were no napkins and staff struggled to assist. The staff begged us to give a good review.

The woman that checked us in was great and helped us when we asked to switch rooms because our first room wreaked of smoke. We switched to another room which was much better but when I went to take a shower in the morning, it was broken, so I had to only wash my hair under the faucet.

When we walked in there was coffee all over the counter, the place reeked like smoke. When we got to the room, th keycards did not work. I went back to front desk and she came to room acting like I was stupid and couldn’t figure it out. She saw real quick how the cards dint work. Once I opened the door, we immediately noticed one was was not made and it was soiled. The front desk agent was still wit us at this time and she witnessed it as well. With no explanation or apology. She tried to get us to accept another room. Absolutely not!!! The hotel will not issue me a full refund. Which is absolutely ridiculous. Completely unacceptable.

The housekeeping staff as well as desk staff are all wonderful hard working people. Very friendly. The rooms are a bit worn but the beds and pillows are amazingly comfortable. The tv is big and nice. The WIFI leaves much to be desired as I have been working remotely for too long now and the WIFI is spotty.

Disappointment realized

When we arrived in the room the floor was cruddy and when we told the manager he offered to \"let housekeeping know about it tomorrow\". We went out and bought a mop and my wife cleaned the floor -- never did see housekeeping. Our two nights were punctuated by two or three loud buzzing alarms in the hallway. We left after two days-- nobody ever even came by to empty the trash or refill the toilet paper. Unfortunately I got sick after our second day and checked out -- the manager said they might be able to receive a partial refund if Hotels.com said they could. They also charged us for bringing our puppy to the \"pet friendly\" establishment- as advertised on hotels.com . So at this moment I really can say nothing good about the hotel, the service, or hotels.com .

Our room was ready, and found out that someone else from previous night was staying over again and at this point we didnt have a room to stay in. Front desk clerk had 1 other room available and gave us that room, but we had to wait about an hour for that room to be cleaned.

I'll never go back to this hotel!!!!. First the constant fire alarm going off, come to find out it's caused by the steam from the bathroom shower setting it off, I don't really care, it wakes everyone up, it's annoying and unnecessary. Then, as soon as we came in I had to wipe all kinds of surfaces and floor down because they were dirty! Gross! I was lucky we had a roll of paper towels, I wish we had had some bleach as well. The bed sheets were patched and transparent, one of them was made inside out so one could see the patches, also gross! Sheets need to be updated people!! The coffee maker was missing the lid and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Our checkout was nonexistent, I just gave the keys to the room to the lady smoking outside and I think the extent of that exchange was \"I'll take them\", meaning the keys, and that was it. I wish the AC would have been on constantly to drown out the rest of the noise going on, it just stopped and started often worsening the noise pollution. Honestly, I haven't been in a hotel this bad in a long time. It did have hard surface flooring, marble sink and no bedbugs, that earns them one star. The rest is mediocre at best.

Horrible is a gift. One man was there for 1/2 hour before I TRIED to check in. No body was at the desk, the phone was unanswered, there were guests that had checked in and their keys would not work. I left after 40 minutes of waiting no desk help ever arrived. The place is a dump and needs closed down. I was forced to drive four hours to get home. Customer service could not even reach someone there. I DEMAND a FULL REFUND.

I usually don’t leave reviews but we stayed 5/3/25 and this hotel was not as expected. Rooms were very dirty ( dirty refrigerator, dusty, sticky substance on end table ), the lights didn’t work ( only had 1 table lamp and mirror light in bathroom ) and shower wasn’t even a shower ( there was no way make the shower part turn on, shower was dirty also ). The only part that was decent was the bed was comfortable but yet the comforter blanket had stains all over it.
We booked 3 rooms and each room was filthy and we will never stay at Super 8 again

I was really impressed with my room. It is really nice and clean. The hostess Michelle is a very nice lady. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I’m normally a regular customer here but this room was absolutely terrible. Me and my kids got in super late. So I didn’t get a chance to really see the room because the lighting was terrible until the morning. Super huge disappointment. Everything broken. Lingering smoke smell. Just horrible experience

The bathroom door wouldnt close, where the door handle was not secure to the door. Also fou d a razor blade on the lamp base and i moved it to the desk so i wouldnt step or anyone else would step on it.

The staff was super friendly, helped with the refrigerator, got extra towels for us. They appear to be updating the rooms, new TV. However no gym on site as advertised. Very much a 2 star property. The other hotel guest were questionable. Heavy pot smell on the 2nd floor, plus a visit from the local police, approximately 5 police cars and their officers showed up while I was in the lobby they asked the manager for a guest list and a master key.... had me very worried.

The fire alarms went off 4 separate times during our 6 day stay. When we asked for housekeeping it didn’t get done. There wasn’t very good lighting in the room. Mold in the bathtub lining. Just over all not happy with our experience

recently stayed at the Super 8 by Wyndham in Kent, Ohio, and was pleasantly surprised by my experience. The location is fantastic—easy to find and close to both Kent State University and Akron, making it convenient for exploring the area.

The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every detail of my stay was perfect. My room was clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything I needed, including a cozy bed and fast Wi-Fi. I also appreciated the complimentary breakfast in the morning, which offered a nice selection to start my day.

For the price, this hotel is an excellent value. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a budget-friendly yet comfortable place to stay in the Kent area. I’ll be back next time I’m in town!”

Checking in is always easy but their staff is not that friendly a few front desk people were pretty friendly but 1 woman everytime I go she’s very short makes you feel like your a inconvenience to her and 1 of the housekeepers seemed like she had an attitude cause I choose to stay another night other than that I enjoy my stay at super 8.

Fast check in process room was clean but definitely needed some deep cleaning. Was an empty bag and a ketchup packet behind the nightstand a lil dusty on top of like lamps. Bed was super comfy. They are remolding so it was a lil noisy in the morning with all the renovations going on, but I understand that’s the only time they can do them. You are allowed to have pets and the people across the hall their dog barked a little bit more than I would like to hear, but overall, I would give it a strong eight out of 10 stars

It's got a different feel to it, almost like being on vacation when I was a wee lad. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, and the price is very fair.
I've stayed in A LOT of hotels, and when I say this is one of the best in the area, I'm not lying. I am just saying it's worth more than they asking, and the beds had me in a level 9 deep sleep... Level 9 y'all!!

We had been in a hit and run, and needed to find a place close to where we were and that had possible service that we needed. The Super 8 was in a perfect spot. The room was outdated, but clean. Staff was helpful. Area questionable, but we felt safe. Overall, a good stay.

Great service

The manager Mr. Patel as well as the entire staff was very friendly, they treated me like an old friend from the moment arrived till the moment I left. Everything in the room worked and the beds were comfortable. They had room service come around every day to ask about trash, towels, and whether I needed anything. Overall it was money well spent for the week I stayed there.
