AC sometime made a noise and cover panel was just loosely atrached. Shower head awkward just with a handle after that collapsed down after a touch and would not stay in place. Very annoying as the only way to get the correct water direction was to hold the shower handle.

My stay was from Sat to Sun. King /Ocean View Rm.
I booked through a third party, The pictures are old, the place looks much older in person. There was a 5% Ocean view. The Shower in my rm did not work, my TV did not work, they had no internet. When I asked to move to another rm....they said there was no other rms available. So asked abt giving me at least half of my money back they because I already checked In, they cant give me my money back...check in was at 3pm, this happened at 530pm. I was pissed 😤 No TV and I couldn't take a proper shower!!!! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
So they offered me a $40 gift certificate, which they had written on thr back of a decal sticker to a smoke shop! I dont smoke and I have no need of ever going into a smoke shop!
Do Not Book a stay at Royal INN. I paid $318 for a dump!

This is lower budget hotel. High marks for pristine sheets, bedding and towels. I did love the location. The beaches were not crowded and no high rises to block view.
Low marks for not cleaning under the bed. Trash, dust, an old sock. Low marks for TV internet connection.
Yes, i would stay here again due to price and accessibility to beach and a few good bars and eating establishments.

We were on the second floor and there was no ocean view!!! The pool was very small and very cold!!!! Not really inviting!
The internet was fading in and out or not working at all!! Definitely stressed my husband out- which stressed me!!!!
Even though they did have a cable guy come in-the problem was still never corrected!!!!
On a more positive note-the room itself was clean and
the staff was very helpful and friendly! The location was also very good! Fun places, a beautiful jetty and great food within walking distance.

We stayed one night in April and the AC did keep the room cool for us! The rooms have a keurig and coffee as well as a refrigerator and an ice bucket. The shower could have been a little more clean but overall we enjoyed our stay! Amanda at the front desk moved us to the ocean side which we appreciated!

The A/C worked fine. I realize that it is an older hotel but, attention to cleaning in the rooms and focus on the outside area is needed. The curtains needed serious cleaning. The small light on the nightstand had a scorch on the shade. Replacing that is a must. The beds were comfortable and made up nicely. Cleaning the baseboards in the room was needed. The TV would turn off in the middle of a show. Could not watch any programs. The staff were very nice. The phone in the room did not work. That was an inconvenience because for the issues we were having we had to go down to the office.

There was mold and mildew throughout the room. Room was filthy. Baseboards were dirty and had mold. Curtains had mold and looked like a blood stain. Checked in late in the day and decided to check out the next day. The counter person told me no problem. When I checked out they said no refund. I had a 5 day reservation. Called Expedia because they took my money and was told there was nothing they could do.so lm out 500$ I have pictures of everything.

Hidden fees when we checked in!!!!!!!! I had 2 reservations the first one I was told I had to pay a \"destination fee\" then when I argued it's a hidden fee they dropped the issue. Now my second reservation was because our condo couldn't be ready for a nother couple days so we just stayed where we were. I went downstairs to office to explain and they refused to let us stay unless we paid a \"destination fee\". I emailed expedia with no help on the issue.
The floors were kinda dirty the shower made God awful noises the patio door barely worked but it's in a great location and it's quite for the most part.

If you have other options in the price range I would stay elsewhere. Also in 7 days they didn't clean our room or take out trash. We did it ourselves after multiple attempts trying to get them to service the room.

Location is the only reason it gets 2 stars.

It was an old hotel. Internet was very poor. Watching TV and it would turn off. Was told since the hotel was full, it will be like this the our whole stay. There was a severe storm the night before we left. Came back to hotel and water was throughout the room. No one was at the front desk because it closes at 11:00pm. Therefore, we had to use the towels that were given to us. We advised the staff in the morning before we left. They acted so surprised that water came through the door. Otherwise, in a great location, close to walkable restaurants. Unfortunately we were not able to enjoy the beach since the beach was being re-sanded.

First of all, the pictures shown are not updated, the hotel says and shows a common area with tables and TV...that is non existent, it was removed after COVID. If you want this hotel bevause of the direct access to the beacj dont book it, the access is closed...there is no beach walking distance from the hotel. Because there is erosion...no sand at the beach and the city is doing some renovations until May. When I called the hotel before my due date to cancel to ask for chair and access to the beach nobody told me it was closed. The TV in oir room was not working, they said the internet connection in that room gives trouble, so we could not watch TV. The last night of our stay we noticed thatnthe door of our room did not closed properly...you can open it just by pushing it. Cannot complain about the staff , they where really nice and the hotel was clean...a little rusty...needs some care but it was clean. I could not cancel because they still will charge me.

The property was not as described on the website. The bathroom had a leaky faucet. The sheets on the bed felt like cardboard on your skin. The balcony was so small you could barely fit two people, and the chairs were so old and rusted you were sitting on metal which was so uncomfortable. We couldn’t stay outside. The refrigerator was so old it barely kept the bottles of water I put in at a cold temperature. The Internet was up and down the whole night so we couldn’t watch TV. There was one nightstand lamp, which did not have an on off switch so the only way to use it was to tighten and loosen the lightbulb.Upon checkout, I complained to the individual behind the desk and she laughed in my face and said, “oh well”. I will be disputing the charge with my credit card company.

Breakfast, bathroom corners in floors! Just not what we were expecting! Especially a charge of $50.00 a night to have a room overlooking the pool. We ask for that when reservations were made. I realize we book it through Expedia but, didn’t get what we ask for! Plus, a charge of $250.00 cancellation fee and another $250.00 for some other reason! It took approximately 1+ hours to cancel! Never, never use Expedia or any other 3rd party for booking!!!

We arrived and the toilet did not work. It was fixed. Then later when we went to shower the shower did not work, water went everywhere. The hotel is dated but somewhat clean. 1st night there walked down to beach and it was closed. Just went down from there. Cutains are half up and down, wont open like they should. Furniture is very uncomfortable and hard. Bed is super soft. Probably memory foam that needs replaced. We both have cpap machines and only outlet was behind the bed had to reorganize the room. Walked around room with socks which were white but are grey now. Tv is a ruku so internet based and wasnt working. Called front desk to get voicemail. Went to sleep. Got up to take shower next day for a cockroach on shower curtain. Hair dryer stopped working. As we left for day stopped by front desk and told them hair dryer replaced but Tv still not working. No other bugs sited. Left the next day. Staff was nice and appreciated gift card but nothing I could use with it as it was to a smoke, vape, gift store.

The room service did not come in everyday! Received clean towels one day. The doors had to be slammed in order to shut all the way which made it hard to sleep with others going in and out all hours. Couldn’t enjoy the balcony because of the smell of weed flowing from other balconies. Not the cleanest! Dirty Curtains! Unfortunately we won’t be going back.

First off, the employees and staff were fantastic. Amanda was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we only had two towels for four of us. There was black mold on the bathroom floor, the bathroom door didn’t close all the way so could not lock, curtains were falling down and were off their track, the ceiling fan didn’t work, it smelled like smoke, and the deadbolt on the door also didn’t work. Besides the run down room, the furniture was cute, beachy and updated. The noises late at night included loud music and bass that vibrated our room and we were woken up by a man screaming something about a crow bar, he sounded intoxicated and possibly hurt. Definitely not a place for children. A little scary knowing our door didn’t lock. We unfortunately can’t recommend the place and won’t be back.

Staff was great but the room needs help. If you are given Room 200--run!

The door was broken--you need to kick it to get in (frankly anybody could kick it in with or without a key); The balcony door was broken and didn't lock: the toilet paper roll was broken. For the life of me I could not figure out how to turn on the light in the bathroom.

To be fair I did book it like 10 minutes beforeI arrived so it is possible they were full to capacity and had to accomodate me with a good dose of squalor.

To the staffs credit the room was very clean, but to be clear this is not a hotell or an Inn, it is a dated hotel and it is not on the beach.

The beach is across a small public road, down a quay, past a couple restaurant/bars and the beach is closed anyway due to storm erosion. So you can sit on benches in a little municiipal park behind a retaining wall of sharp rocks while planning your jaunt to other public beaches, which are numerous.

The pictures for this hotel are extremely misleading, this is not a nice hotel. I would not recommend this hotel. The lady at front desk was nice but did say the office closes at 9pm if you need anything there’s a number to call. The door to our room did not lock and our TV did not work.The building is very outdated. The beds were hard and caved in the middle, very uncomfortable. The noise level is constant. Loud music from nearby bars all night long.. You can hear people talking and doors slamming. Several times I thought someone was trying to come in our room.i feel like I made a mistake booking this room, especially for the price not worth it. They charged an extra 18$ upon checking in for “resort fee”, yes free parking but I checked on my vehicle frequently to make sure it wasn’t being broke into. This hotel has no reason to charge resort fee.

Typically, I don’t leave reviews, but I’m hoping this helps both future guests and the hotel by setting clearer expectations around pricing. While the staff was kind and welcoming, and the bed and hot water were fine, the room was overpriced and not worth the cost. There is no actual ocean view, so paying extra for one isn’t worth it. Only one outlet worked (one had something jammed inside, and the outlet behind the TV didn’t work), requiring two extension cords to be run across the room to power basic items, which felt unsafe.

Cleanliness issues were concerning, including a broken razor head in the bathroom sink, broken glass and dirt in a sink drawer, and a slippery shower. Conversations were easily heard through the walls, and with no sheer curtains and only one working lamp, the room was very dark unless you wanted to open the blinds to the parking lot. Overall, it was tolerable for a one-night stay but not somewhere I’d return to or feel comfortable having children stay. The surrounding area, however, was nice and walkable.

It eas supposed to be a non smoking room, however, when we arrived, the room smelled like smoke and an extreme amount of cleaning solution as someone was trying to cover up the smell. There was a plastic bag over the smoke detector. The receptionist did her best to help air out the room, and she remopped the floor. The linens were clean, no evidence of bugs or uncleanliness. Just an old rundown place.

We arrived earlier than expected from our long drive to the hotel. We went to check in and the lady said we were to early 1:30 to check in or pay $25.00 or come back at 3pm we said ok to come back at 3pm. Went and had a nice lunch arrived back at 3:20 and was told the check in was shut down until 4pm sign on the door. If they would have told us we wouldn’t have arrived back until 4pm. Sat in the parking lot until 4pm. Room was old and definitely needs remodeling, uncomfortable bed. All night we heard numerous motorcycles going back slider doors are old and so you can hear right thru them. Also every time someone on the floor opens their door if was so load it will wake you up. The lady behind the desk was very nice but since we had to wait the additional hour for check in, they should have tried to accommodate by something.

Do NOT believe this hotel when they say that some of there rooms are “ocean view”! Ha! The pictures lie! It shows this huge ocean view in the pictures but there is no ocean view! All of the trees have grown to block the ocean view! This hotel is only 3 levels high and doesn’t show any ocean! AND them claiming they have “private direct beach access”?! Lies! The area is blocked off by the city due to beach erosion from the past hurricane and the beach has not recovered. The closest access is a mile down the road and the entire beach has erosion in that area so the beach is not enjoyable in the least. And I don’t understand why they also claim they are on a private island?! It’s not! When getting off the freeway you drive thru the hood for about 4 miles until you reach the hotel. All of the cheaper fast food restaurants are in the hood 4 miles from hotel! The only restaurants around the hotel are expensive bar and grills. Now let’s get to the age of this hotel, she’s older and the pictures online do not show this. To get in our room we had to literally body slam the door each time to get it to open due to it sticking and the age! Mold stains on the ceiling from what I’m guessing is water damage! The one positive review they get out of me is this, your housekeepers these women are keeping your hotel open I promise you that. Because the beds and floors and bathroom were immaculately clean because you could tell someone actually detail cleaned them.

The room was nothing like the pictures or even pool. Room was run down cabinets dirty and old and had nails in them the dressers in rooms couldn't be used when you pulled the drawers out the fell off the slides. The bathroom floors and trim were so dirty and gross. The door to room barley held it locked it was rotten and the striker plates were falling off. AC was broken when we got there. They did get it fixed following day. Didn't get our 40 dollar gift card and the BBQ grill was rusted out could not use. Pool was never cleaned and all the grounds bushes were all over grown. We were not picky people what so ever but this place was false advertising.

I can’t believe Expedia has your run down place on their list of properties .. what a hot mess .. we left because nothing worked .. we did not spend the night .. and will be asking for our funds to be reimbursed as your employee said she could t do it .. you won’t be in business with the place being so nasty

The staff is Awesome & worked with us for a late arrival. Very clean rooms & amenities. I only took a point off because our room was 1/2 renovated & 1/2 older. Our 1st thought on the beds was Oh No ! Because they were hard, but to our amazement they were very comfortable & we slept like babies, lol The pillows were great as well, not squishy like the fancy hotels are.
We would stay here again !

Room condition was fair floors could be cleaner showerhead needs to be changed. The room smells musty like beachfront properties do the bed was comfortable. The television situation is not good. Do you need cable.
