Located just outside Vevey, at the intersection of the Geneva-Berne-Valais motorways, the Modern Times Hotel invites you to discover the world of Charlie Chaplin. Throughout this contemporary hotel, original film posters, private photos of the actor, and film stills are displayed.
The name 'Modern Times' inspired the careful use of building materials, such as stone and wood, while water from the Pléiades spring is available on each floor from a water dispenser. Nestled between the lake and mountains, the Modern Times Hotel offers 136 modern rooms and junior suites with high-quality bedding.
It provides a comfortable and welcoming retreat for both business and family travelers. The Times Bar, the hotel's central hub, features a colorful and stylish lounge.
Its convivial atmosphere transitions seamlessly throughout the day, from a workspace to a social meeting place. The Times Grill restaurant, open year-round, serves fresh, regional dishes.
Locally produced dry-aged beef, matured in refrigerated cabinets, is a highlight of the menu, complemented by a selection of wines from the Lavaux and other regions. The hotel modern design rooms are regular size furniture nice just one thing they don't have AC air condition its just looks like AC but actually its A Fan i requested 2 time to fix it as it wasn't working and i had to open window all night which noisy as location next to highway, about restaurant breakfast was good multi choices but i feel kind of expensive, mostly who stay in this hotel groups, there is parking infornt of hotel private for hotel, if i wanna recommend this hotel for who just want to spend night in as location is good near by highway you can access in out to hotel easier for any trip also near by Montreux abd Vevey Blonay.

Stayed just for one night, beautiful location, quick walk from the train station at Hauteville, but not really near anything else for food options, which is why the restaurant is important there. We didn’t try the restaurant or bar due to our quick stay. Be sure to ask for the free bus card upon check in, the clerk forgot to mention it and we didn’t receive it until I asked the next day. Rooms were excellent, bedding and mattresses lovely. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Great hotel with a decent size family room (interconnected rooms). Ideally located for visits to Vevey, Montreux and all that these towns offer (Museums, Castles etc). About 15 minutes drive to AquaParc.
Great restaurant on site, but its a bit pricey. Alterative restaurants not far from the hotel and Uber Eats deliveries also possible.

I've stayed here many times, and the reasons to keep returning are clear. Great location, only a short taxi ride from the Vevey Gare. On this occasion though, I elected to walk both ways, it's a fairly challenging walk up but the walk back down is super nice and only takes 25 mins. Rooms are great, beds are great and the food is great. You can't ask for much more

Nice enough hotel, very close to tram stop to get you into Vevey which is handy. They did however mess up on our room - we got our keycard but there was someone already in the room they'd allocated us, which meant we had to request hypoallergenic bedding again for our new room, as well as an additional towel.

Quick overnight in route to Geneva airport. I left prior to breakfast so no chance to enjoy the buffet it was quiet and very modern. No breakfast available until 7:00

The room was very nice but the air conditioner has no indication of the temperature selected so we could not tell how to cool it down. The room was usually too hot over night.
The 'hot' items of breakfast were always tepid or cold. I did point this out on the first day but nothing changed, we also told reception on leaving. Because of this I feel the cost of breakfast is far too high.

The hotel itself is clean and has a modern design, and you can cast your devices to the TV for easy Netflix/YouTube entertainment. The nearby train station is convenient and only 10min ride from Vevey.
Unfortunately that's where the good aspects of the hotel stopped, we had a number of issues during our stay which I raised with the admin staff after our visit, which was met with a 'sorry' email but no intention of even a partial refund (perhaps this 4* hotel could learn a thing or two from Premier Inn...imagine that).

The door doesn't shut unless pressed close, so leaving the heavy door to swing shut doesn't cut it (as it would in most hotels) as we found out upon returning from a day out to our door ajar, not ideal as we carry expensive laptops and photography equipment that won't fit into the small safe included.
The shower flooded within a couple of minutes of use, soaking my clothes.
The room (for 2 people) comes with 2 coffee pods per day for the coffee machine, but then one regular size cup, and one espresso size cup. Just apply that logic to other aspects your expectations and you'll get the general picture.
Also our 'checking out' bill included 6 breakfasts + city tax, (at a modest 180 francs), when we'd only had 2 breakfasts.
All in all, the hotel is nice and clean and in a good spot but our experience was mega disappointing.
Unfortunately that's where the good aspects of the hotel stopped, we had a number of issues during our stay which I raised with the admin staff after our visit, which was met with a 'sorry' email but no intention of even a partial refund (perhaps this 4* hotel could learn a thing or two from Premier Inn...imagine that).

A well priced choice when visiting Switzerland, where hotels aren't always great value. Room are a good size and comfortable. The hotel is clean with nice public areas.
Of course it takes a little time to get used to the Charlie Chaplain theme, that they really don't hang back on.

The hotel is so easy to find, and with ample parking so just perfect for us to use as a base for visiting friends. The staff were very friendly and polite. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, and well decorated. The bad super comfortable. We will definitely stay here on our next visit.

Pros: It is a nice, brand-new hotel with a full gym, restaurant, and parking (underground available). The rooms are spacious, quiet, and comfortable. The Chaplin decor is tastful and unique. Nice mountain view out of the windows. Nice staff.

Its a great new hotel and a winner in its price range. A friendly and welcoming staff. Rooms with mountain views are a great and the trip down to Vevey is pretty easy.

Es fand ein Oldtimer-Treffen statt. Leider besetzten diese während des ganzen Aufenthaltes mehrere Parkplätze, bzw. parkierten auf mehreren Parkplätzen so, dass für die restlichen Gäste keine Parkplätze mehr übrig waren.

Hôtel pratique mais accessible surtout en voiture. Compte tenu de l'emplacement hors centre et à la sortie de l'autoroute, la place de parc devrait être moins onéreuse. Le confort est bon et l'isolation phonique excellente. Une partie (majoritaire) du personnel est vraiment très sympa, dommage que cela ne s'applique pas à toute l'équipe.

We had booked one night (Dec 31 - Jan 1). Location is very easy to reach right of the autobahn. The hotel is modern, clean and stylish designed. Memerobilia of Charlie Chaplin everywhere as you would expect. Check-in was easy, fast and friendly. We were informed after our booking that there would be no a-la-carte service at the hotel restaurant for that evening (only New Years Eve dinner with reservation). So far so good...
Arriving in the room it was rather cold (the thermostat didn't work to increase temperature). I went to fornt desk to ask for a change of temperature but she was too busy and promised to look into it later. It didn't get better. After an hour waiting (and freezing) we went to cafe for a hot tea and a bite to eat only to be told that there was not a single option to eat anything. No sandwiches, no soups, no pastries nothing. Asking for an extra heater for the room I was told one would be brought to the room. (It didn't) I went to get on myself at front desk. and only with that heater and another 2 hours of waiting for the room to slowely warm up, did it become somewhat comfortable. 👍
Then the TV. It didn't work properly, kept turnign itself off and each time we had to go through the reboot to get all the systems working again. This happended every 5-10 minutes of watching TV. Aannoing.
Breakfast the next monring was very good. A good selection of high quality foods, good and freindly service. All very good.
Won't stay there anymore nor would I recommend.

Morgens um 5.30 Uhr gehen die Rollos automatisch hoch. Das hat mich ziemlich erschreckt. Es konnten nur 2 Schweizer Sender am TV geguckt werden alle anderen Deutschsprachigen Sender waren nicht empfangbar. Ist scheinbar schon länger ein Problem.
