2 days of fun & relaxation in a beautiful place

Very well located for the train station & buses into Montreux . The Riviera tourist travel card given at reception was a bonus to enable us to travel around for free up until the early hours .
The hotel itself is nice, clean & comfortable.
The roof top bar wasn’t open but we made use of the spa facilities instead .
No kettle in the room though which would’ve been appreciated but there’s a Starbucks opposite so that solved that .
Veyvey itself has a good vibe with a variety of shops & places to eat . The lake is a short walk from the hotel which has breathtaking views & a buzzy ambience during market day with people generally enjoying themselves . We particularly found the improvised beach with deck chairs charming& the little sandwich bar with its pier seating adorable . A lovely place to visit for sure.

Highly recommend

Conveniently located right outside the train station. Very spacious room, with two sinks in the bathroom good for morning time when the family can brush teeth together if in a hurry. Will be perfect if adding a door for the shower and toilet.

Great location, close to the lake, shopping and restaurants. Parking involved a car lift, which was an adventure! Roof bar, gym and hot tub was out of order or under renovation it seemed, although we didn’t have time to really use it anyway. Great hotel to explore Vevey.

Such a lovely hotel, we arrived early before check in time and our room was ready for us.
Communication was brilliant before arrival.
Local transport tickets were perfect for visiting Vevey and Montreux area.
Lovely, clean rooms and really close to the train station and bus stops

The hotel is very convenient for travelling without a car, it is near the railway station and local buses. Travel on local buses is free with a card provided by the hotel, this included the tickets for the Furnicular railway, providing great views of Lac Leman.
Our room is spacious and clean. Despite being very central the hotel is quiet. Its just a couple of minutes to the lake.

What a wonderful stay!! I was pleasantly surprised. I will say the comments from everyone were correct and helped with me to choose this property. It was my first trip to Vevey so i was very skeptical. I am a Hilton/Marriott member and was scared to death. Now I will NOT stay anywhere else but at Astra. the location is PERFECT especially if you will ride the train. The rooms will be beyond clean!! I am a germ-phob and I couldn't find anything to complain about LOL. Great stay if you are from the U.S. and looking for the comforts of home this is the place. Same as a Hilton. I did upgrade my room to a bigger room but that was just because i knew ahead of time that overseas rooms tend to run on the smaller side. Book it you wont be upset.

We liked the inside parking, hopefully that eventually becomes an expedia vip perk (as its quite expensive, free parking for vip would be awesome). The restaurant below was nice, the hot tub is great. The photos of the lake views from the room are quite exaggerated, the sauna wasnt on while wenwere there, but the location is perfect.

Nice family room. They have 2 bathrooms. Although quite old bathroom but very clean. Breakfast has enough varieties and nice quality food. Staff in restaurant during breakfast are very friendly especially for the lady that was there on xmas morning. Location perfect just in front of train station but still very quite. Lovely view from our room.

I made a mistake, usually I don't take any breakfast and I did the reservation without it. Once at the hotel I have been asked if I wanted it and I accepted it. By the end of the stay I didn't use it the breakfast at all, and correctly they felt like charging it, but by the end they understood my situation and they have been kind enough, not to charge me. This by the time I did the reservation without and as I haven't used it.
However, the réceptionist has been pushy and strong on her point. Only when I accepted to pay it for not having more troubles, she stepped back and decided not to charge me. The situation was a bit unexpected and ruined a bit my great opinion at the real end. Either you charge it or you don't charge it it's fine to me, but don't create a théâtre in the réception.
For everything else, rooms are clean, a bit dark, very nice bathrooms, great location and you are in Montreux in 10-15 minutes either by train or by bus.

Stayed for 2 nights during Montreux Jazz Festival. Very convenient bus and yrain service. Nice rooftop bar with views. Staff all very helpful. Possibly a little dated. but thats really stretching for a negative. Didnt eat at hotel so cant comment.

The friendliness of the staff and its convenient location. On my last day of stay, to catch the early train to Zurich, breakfast only starts at 7pm on Sunday. The staff offers me a cup of coffee and croissants despite the restaurant is not open for breakfast yet.

Superb location & friendly staff

I was in Vevey for just one day on business and needed to check in early to get ready after a red-eye flight. Location right in front of the train station was the reason I selected Astra, and the staff was very accommodating for my early check-in. The flip side of the convenient location is lack of view, but my inward facing room was very quiet. Also, the lake was just a short walk away in any case.

The staff was very friendly. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. But there is no coffee maker in the room, not even a water boiler, so we had to start our long journey without the usual morning coffee!!
For a 4 star hotel the bathroom is really outdated and taking a shower turns to a burden.

I booked this hotel as I got this in the search as breakfast included. I booked and when at the time of check in, the staff said it's not included and I don't know whose mistake was this hotels.com or Astra. But I ended up paying extra for breakfast which was quite disappointing.

There are a few basics that an hotel can't miss, like providing a functioning wifi. When I notified to reception that it wasn't working, I was offered to pay (!) for the wifi. They eventually gave me a new code for the \"good\" wifi, which was not working. Also called because the socket to charge my laptop was not working either. They said they'd send someone, but never came to fix.

This hotel does the job being close to the train station. There are few hotel options in Vevey so it offers the best value for money. That said, the rooms are small and breakfast is not included. The air conditioner is difficult to regulate but it's a good functional choice.

The worst Service you can get , without an apology

The Hotel Manager, Nicholas, was particularly rude. When my food was ordered and served incorrectly, The Manager Nicholas took 24 mins to get to my table, by then I had finished my meal. He was then rude & unapologetic about the mistake. A Total lack of ability to be polite & went on about \"We In Switzerland we blah blah blah\". I will NEVER book this hotel again. When I got back to my room I had two bed bugs on my duvet & when I checked there was dust on the headboard & under the bed

Visiting Vevey for one night stay. Hotel was directly across the road from the train station. Excellent location. Arrived in hotel at 5:00pm and left the following morning at 8:00am. Friendly enough staff, addressed us in French and did not switch to English when they realised we were not French speaking!! Over all the hotel accommodation was perfect for our needs, clean warm and comfortable. Did not have time to eat there so cannot comment on

Convenient hotel to train in a great city

I found the service to be very slow. We had an issue where our door would not lock and it took a long time for the hotel to resolve it as the maintenance man was busy and couldn't prioritize addressing the issue. In addition, the jacuzzi closes @ 10 pm - and the bar service was slow, too. The best thing about the hotel is the proximity to the train station - other than that, nothing special. For a bit more money, I recommend the Trois Couronnes or Grand Hotel du Lac.

Far from a 4 star hotel

I will never stay at this hotel ever again. The room was on the 3rd floor, at the top of the building which is basically the loft, so the walls were all uneven making the room very uncomfortable. The bathroom was so mouldy, the bath flooded so we had to call room service to get them clean the bathroom properly and fix the problem with the bath. The staff was polite and the hotel is located in a good area, despite of this I would definitely recommend to stay in any other place.

Heart of Vevey with nice sauna

It is a nice hotel in the heart of Vevey. The rooftop lounge and whirlpool/sauna compete with the best of them. The hotel is in good condition. I would stay again. However, \"Fast\" Internet (5 MB/s?) is \"free\" for three hours, and then a ridiculous price for 24 hours. Breakfast is overpriced, and you they try to sell you services (watches at the entrance, 5 screens of ads for pay-per-view movies until you can turn on the TV...) at every chance. The shower leaks all over the floor and the drains were all plugged, meaning no matter how carefully you shower the bathroom ends up like a swimming pool. There was some kind of loud noise from the central heating that woke up half the building at 5am. Nevertheless, the staff were kind and willing to help at every chance.

■立地最高■朝食が美味しかった。レストランの雰囲気も美しく、特にサーモンとサラミの味が最高■スパの備品も清潔

【Bad Point☹️】
■到着したときポーターがいなかったので、自分で部屋に荷物を運ぶことになりました。
■エクストラダブルルームに3泊しましたが、部屋の入り口の天井の配線がむき出しになっていて、気持ち悪かった。
■お水ボトルのサービスが初日だけだった。しかも中身は炭酸でした。
■大きな窓(シティービュー)全部にカーテン、スライドか閉まっていて、視界が悪かった。開けてみようにも、壁に設置されたリモコンが壊れていて、開けられませんでした。
■独立シャワー室のガラスの扉と床の隙間が大きく、床がトイレ便器の方まで水浸しになりました。(タオルを挟みました)
■清掃された後なのに、一番欲しいティッシュペーパーが補充されず、空箱のままでした。従業員の方に電話して持ってきて頂きました。
■レストランの従業員の方はあまり英語が話せないようで、部屋番号の数字さえも伝えるのに苦労しました。
