EXCELLENT HOTEL.

All right it was a pleasant stay but I have to shout out the maintenance crew. I've noticed in my visits that if there's a problem say like the lights need a new light bulb or something like you need to check the Jacuzzis they fix it that day and when you're gone for the trip to the beach or whatever when you get back is fixed. They started offering a lot more for breakfast too. The staff is wonderful as usual. They seem to be doing a lot of upgrades like the air conditioner in the room. They've been upgraded.

Okay here is the drop on this hotel. The breakfast is not fire because they're doing pancakes and stuff now but they're not hip to syrup with pancakes but they got a lot of jellies. Fortunate for me I brought log cabin and maple syrup with me as usual. They generally have a very good breakfast but I was surprised to see the addition of pancakes and waffles. My stay was pleasant as usual with this hotel.

I had a great experience staying one night at Hotel Riale. The front desk staff is extremely helpful and friends. All of them were accommodating and helpful: Francisco and Gabriel were the ones that took care of my check-in, João took our luggage and our check-out was done smoothly by Hugo and his co-worker (forgot his name). They were all exemplary and I would definitely stay there again.

It's a pretty good state but one of the things that people might need to know is that because you're downtown and close to a water source like the beach when it rains get mosquito repellent or mosquito spray which you can find at the stores. What's great about this hotel is that has a market a minute down the street to the left and a fruit market same direction. It's a very convenient spot and you are right by the subway station as well.

The stay here was great but a little heads up for when it rains. It is best to go to the store and get either mosquito repellent or bug spray for immediately after a rainy day. And this is for anywhere downtown Rio. Other than that it's very pleasant. There is a lot of shops around the hotel.

GOOD SERVICE FROM THE FRONT TO THE CLEANERS

The service at this hotel was excellent from the front desk to the cleaning service. Even when they're a little issues the front desk is on it and solving it. You have a lot of hotels that are good when there are no problems but how are they if there's an issue and in this hotel is no problem cuz they handle them. Their maintenance staff is on point

We had a great stay at the Riale.. the hotel is a little old but it’s really good.. breakfast is great and the staff is very nice.. the location is great.. metro, grocery store is a waking distance. Actually you can have everything around the hotel.. I would definitely stay at the Riale again..

The service is great here and it's a nice hotel. One of the things that may be important to many is that the parking is $r31.50 which on the current race equate to a little under $5.56-$6.00 a day extra.

Affordable property with lots of amenities. The staff was very kind with us, especially considering our Portuguese was minimal.

Pros:
-feijoada buffet on Saturday was delicious and well worth the price
-the heated pool is excellent, feels like a hot tub
-comfortable rooms with strong air conditioning and nice shower
-friendly and kind staff who go above and beyond in courtesy

Cons:
-elevator closes very quickly (I know it sounds like an odd complaint but I got in the elevator and pushed the button and it immediately closed the doors very quickly, my friend didn’t have time to get in with me and we were comedically split up for a moment. No time to react basically!)
-floor was mildly dirty in our room—I didn’t find an issue but my friend commented about it more than once)
-the hallways with the rooms were oddly long and narrow

Overall the cons were so minor I didn’t want to subtract a star for them. Very satisfied with the stay!! I’d come stay again without any hesitation.

Simply Fantastic

Lovely old heritage hotel - could do with a bit of an update, but would rather spend less and have less flashiness. Such incredibly good value - for a central location, metres / feet from the subway - heated pool and steam room, large rooms with separate dining nook and bar fridge, basic breakfast buffet included; the usual WiFi, TV and AC - and excellent service. This will be my go-to for future trips to Rio.

MINOR DISAPPOINTMENT THAT I'M SURE THEY'LL FIX

My only complaint was that I paid for a suite with a jacuzzi and they put me in a very small room that had a Jacuzzi but not a room the size of a suite that I paid for. I really didn't have enough space.

The hotel is nice and clean. The area surrounding it is not the nicest but is close to many things allowing you to get to many places by foot. The morning staff is wonderful and courteous, the opposite to the older fleck at night, who is cold and rude. I was told at 9pm that i could not get any hot water because the kitchen was closed yet the hotel does not provide either a microwave or an in room coffee machine. Thankfully the restaurant a couple doors down have it to me free of charge. The breakfast was acceptable though not spectacular. I would think twice about staying there again.

Tired hotel needing revamp

The room (premium suite) was clean however the air conditioning was so loud that it was impossible to have it turned on and feel comfortable with the noise level. We asked if they had a fan to keep us cool at night - there were no fans. The unit broke completely the last night, we made a complaint at the check out and were promised to be contacted - no contact was made.

Gem in the wall

Riale is actually a gem in the wall, felt good to getaway and enjoy a nice hotel. Staff is super friendly and very helpful. The rooms are spotless clean and spacious. We had the pleasure of being able to eat breakfast and have dinner too at the hotel, food was delicious. All the amenities were open to the guests, Sauna, Pool and Gym. Definitely plan on going back. The hotel is well located with many options of dining and places to shop. There’s even a movie theater nearby.

Pool was lovely and their gym has a window that faces the pool area for a nice view. I was in a superior room, which was very nice, spacious, clean and comfy. The service was very good and very professional, however, it would be better, if staff, at least in reception area speak also English for non-Spanish speaking tourist. But I stress the service was excellent. Also, it was close to metro station and walking distance to Rua Flamingo, along which, many tour companies have collecting points of individual travellers. Very convenient location.

The check in was frustrating - very long and although they knew we had a room booked for 4 nights, they didn't know which room type (even though I showed them my booking confirmation) so we had to wait hours while other arrivals were given a room as they checked in :( We had flown from Europe and had been awake for 20 hours but they cut us no slack. Disappointing. After that things were great. The manager was particularly helpful as was the lady on reception. The breakfast staff worked hard. Room was very clean and tidy. Can highly recommend but don't even THINK of checking in before 2pm.

Good budget hotel cose to all amenities in Rio.

We stayed at this hotel twice, going to Iguacu Falls in between. We were able to leave two suitcases at the hotel. On returning we were given a room with three singles beds. Much bigger than our reserved one. I left a favourable review after our first stay. The second stay confirmed my previous comments. An excellent budget hotel close to all amenities which provides a good breakfast, has friendly helpful staff, a pool and a clean comfortable room.

Good value budget hotel in Catete, Rio de Janeiro

Good value budget hotel in a bustling part of Rio. It is convenient for the Metro and buses to take you to all the tourist hot spots. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. Breakfast good, a wide variety of food and fruit was available. Scrambled eggs cooked on request. We stayed in a standard twin room which was adequate for our needs, air conditioning worked well. There is a swimming pool which was lovely to use after a day's sightseeing. Free wi fi. The street is vibrant and busy in the evening. Area appeared safe, I recommend this hotel.

A equipe é nota 10, mas o hotel é fraco. Caro pro que oferece. Quartos mínimos e mal planejados. Os do térreo tem janela para a garagem o que obriga o hóspede a mantê-la fechada. Os do primeiro andar custam 30% mais caros só porquê não tem gente passando. O ar condicionado é do século passado, extremamente barulhento. Colchões e roupa de cama ruins. Por muito menos se consegue hotéis melhores na mesma área.
Café da manhã apenas razoável.
Não recomendo.

Foi realizada apenas a troca da cama, o que trouxe uma pequena melhoria, porém ainda não tive o conforto necessário para dormir tranquilamente. Além disso, o ar-condicionado era bastante barulhento, o que também prejudicou o descanso.
Outro ponto importante é que as fotos disponíveis no site não correspondiam totalmente ao quarto em que fiquei, que era mais antigo do que o apresentado nas imagens.

O café da manhã é simples, mas suficiente para uma boa refeição.

Como ponto positivo, destaco o kit praia disponibilizado pelo hotel, com cadeiras, guarda-sol e toalhas, um diferencial muito útil. Também elogio a atenção dos funcionários, especialmente o Seu João e o Bruno, que foram muito atenciosos e cuidadosos ao atender nossas solicitações.
Acredito que, com melhorias na estrutura e maior alinhamento entre as fotos e os quartos oferecidos, a experiência pode se tornar bem mais satisfatória.

Hotel muito bem localizado, com metrô a alguns metros de distância e fácil acesso a diversas atrações. Muito comércio nos arredores, bares e restaurantes.
Rua bem movimentada durante o dia e à noite, sensação de segurança.
O hotel é muito organizado e limpo, pretendo me hospedar outras vezes no local. Recomendo.
Praia do Flamengo a 10 minutos de caminhada e de \"brinde\" durante o dia o acesso pode ser atravessando os jardins do Palácio do Catete.
