The hotel did not meet our expectations, it does not match the price or the reviews. We got a room without a real window (the window faced the hallway) so there is no oxygen inside. There was an unpleasant smell in the room, which could not be ventilated. The wall near the air conditioning was wet and with black mold. The air conditioning also smelled. It was very unpleasant. The bed was worn, the mattress had a depression in the middle.The breakfast was only basic, the ingredients did not seem to be of good quality. So far the worst hotel I have been to, I would not return.

The beds and pillows are comfortable – supportive, but not hard. Linens and towels are not the best quality and were brought to the room with stains on them, including blood stains. Room service was unreliable with days when many things were left undone. Shampoo is not good, bring your own.
Air conditioning is very weak and ineffective.
The breakfast is mediocre, but there is fresh fruit, so it is not impossible.
There is ample storage, a nice refrigerator and full-body mirror.
Glasses or cups for the bathroom would be good to have, and a line to hang clothes in the shower. Bathroom lighting is horrible, and the room lighting is not much better.
The neighborhood is abominable, with trash, garbage and smell of urine everywhere, and lots of homeless people and hookers. Not very safe for single people.

Nice free classic Brazilian breakfast. 1st and 2nd floor have no windows onto exterior… but windows onto interior of the building, weird… We barely had any hot water on the 2nd floor. Room we got on 12th floor was much better and had windows. No bathtub. No electric kettles, so we couldn’t make tea or coffee.

I stayed in room 1008. The staff was nice, the room was clean but the bathroom was very, very small. The hotel does not have signs to indicate when a guest wants housekeeping services or when not to be disturbed. I asked the concierge to let the housekeeping staff know in advance that i did not wish to be disturbed. The following morning, I was disturbed by housekeeping staff , inquiring if I wanted the room clean. They rang my room's bell twice at different times and woke me up. I had arrived in the hotel very late from hanging out. I was not happy about this.

My husband and I had a wonderful 11 night stay at the Americas Granada Hotel. The hotel has all the amenities one would need for a comfortable stay. The rooms and the public areas of the hotel are extremely clean. The hotel staff is friendly and welcoming and the service by the front desk, the housekeeping and the restaurant workers is excellent. You can easily access all major tourist sites from the hotel and the hotel’s rooftop terrace with a panoramic view of the surrounding area is an added bonus. The area around the hotel is safe and walkable and there are a few good places to eat around the hotel. We would highly recommend this hotel.

I didn't like the smell of sewer in my room at times. I hated that the maid stole my son's money and when we had dinner in their restaurant they couldn' t find change for us and suggested we go in the streets to find change knowing we don' t speak Portuguese!

🇺🇸 As an American visiting Brazil, I felt very safe and welcomed. Everyone was super nice, helpful, and friendly. The nightlife here is 🔥 busy — especially since you’re right in the city center. If you’re hoping for a quiet, relaxing night, just know this area stays active late 🌃.

📍 You’re walking distance to popular spots like the Arches of Lapa and the Selarón Steps 🎨, which is perfect for sightseeing. Breakfast 🍽️ in the mornings is nice, though it can get a little repetitive if you’re staying for a while. The staff was always accommodating and kind 🙌.

🛏️ The room itself was nice and comfortable, but the bathroom 🚽 felt a little dated — the toilet showed some yellowing and could use an upgrade. There were snacks 🍫 and drinks in the room, but they’re pricey 💸. It’s better to grab the same things at a local supermarket 🛒 for way cheaper.

🏊‍♂️ I wish the pool and gym 🏋️‍♀️ stayed open 24 hours (they close at 10 PM ⏰). But with Brazil’s famous beaches 🏖️ like Flamengo, Copacabana, Ipanema, and more nearby, you’ll have plenty of options to enjoy during the day 🌞.

Overall, it’s a fun and convenient spot if you want to be in the heart ❤️ of the action and experience Rio’s nightlife, culture, and energy ✨.

Our stay (my husband and I ) was average. The staff was lukewarm at best and the food (breakfast) wasn’t great in my opinion. There was some noise from the street but it wasn’t unbearable, and if we were in the bedroom we couldn’t hear anything at all. My biggest gripe was the parking. There is no staff member readily available to open the garage door, so most often you have to go and find someone on staff to open the gate with the remote. The garage is one way in and one way out, so it’s possible to have someone trying to come into the parking garage as you’re trying to come out which can easily result in a collision. I wasn’t expecting spectacular, but I was hoping for a little better.

This is a good location particularly if you're in Rio for United States visa interviews. The staff helped me a lot to get last minute documents printed, which I really needed and appreciated. However, the hotel needs updates to the infrastructure. We had air conditioning and toilet flushing problems in our room. Also, the parking system is a bit of a headache. But overall for our specific situation, the hotel met our needs.

The bed was very old and very uncomfortable. The pillow cases had stains. And the bed didn’t have a fitted sheet on them. It was covered by a flat sheet which kept slipping off. In addition I kept itching when I laid down which had me mentally screwed because all I could think of was bed bugs. And yes I had bites but I’m hoping they were mosquitoes bites. The cheap towels was so horrible I was only able to use them once. One day instead of the housekeeper switching my towels, she hung it at the window for me to reuse smh!

Property is near Lapa, so lots of places are walkable. Easy access for Uber pickup/dropoff. Front desk has access to activities to sign up for if you’re visiting and need something to do. Elevators are slow, can take a while and mine the weight limit.

I had to cancel my reservation I did not completed my check in. The hotel was
badwas very noisy the lady at the front desk she was very rude extremely rude they had me waiting for an hour to check in and then they were like 30 people in line to check in I flew for 9 hours and I waited there for 2 hours you wouldn't even talk to me or answer my question. So I told them to cancel the reservations and I booked myself in another hotel I don't recommend this hotel at all

BEWARE — DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY. not only was my room dirty with mold but I FOUND BED BUGS and the personnel only offered to change the sheets. I had to demand them wash my clothes in HOT WATER free of charge to ensure I would not bring bed bugs back home with me. Absolutely awful and neighboring areas were dirty and filled with homeless people.

Great hotel, room and bed were very comfortable. Breakfast was fine. Reception were always very helpful.
The area is in a \"party\" area of the inner city, lots of bars and restaurants, and character, though can be a little loud on weekends. The hotel is within easy walking distance (10-15 mins) of the cathedral and city centre, which was wonderful.

Gente eu não esperava que pelo valor fosse um hotel tão básico e apertado, não que eu me importe mas realmente é assim apertado não se condiz com o preço. Café da manhã limitada com pães passados nada fresco achei tudo limitado. Localização é boa, porém por esse valor e estrutura era melhor ter escolhido um mais barato que você já espera isso, agora esse hotel ele realmente surpreendeu na desqualidade kkkk.
Recepção achei demorada mas o moço de noite super educado e gentil. Já na hora do check out tinha uma mulher super mal educada e grossa, nunca vou entender gente mal humorada trabalhando em recepção.
Conclusão: se quer pagar caro achando que vai ser bom escolha outra nesse padrão e veja as reviews antes, pq os mais baratos vão suprir bem mais. Agora se for pq não tem escolha, pode escolher e dormir pq só vai servir pra isso. Não é um hotel terrível mas no máximo 1 estrela e meia.

Lo ocurrido en este hotel fue extremadamente grave y constituye una falla evidente en sus protocolos de seguridad.
Un grupo de ocho huespedesfranceses,en evidente estado de ebriedad,se encontraban consumiendo dentro de la piscina del hotel. Nosotros estabamos tranquilamente en las reposeras,sin ningun tipo de provocacion ni interaccion con ellos, cuando a agredir fisicamente a mis hijos de manera violenta e injustificada.
La agresion incluyo golpes y patadas en la cabeza .
Durante el ataque le robaron a mi hijo su apple Watch y una cadena de oro. Todo ocurrio dentro de las instalaciones del hotel.
Lo mas alarmantees que seguridad nunca acudio oportunamente para controlar la situacion ni protegernos. pese a la gravedad de los hechos. terminamos en urgencias donde uno de mis hijos debieron realizarle un scanner por los golpes recibidos en su cabeza.
El hotel tiene la obligacion legal de garantizar condiciones minimas de seguridad a sus huespedes. La falta de intervencion oportuna permitio que una agresion y un robo ocurrieran dentro de sus dependencias.
Actualmente estoy a la espera de una respuesta formal respecto a los daños materiales y responsabilidades correspondientes. de no existir una solucion adecuada,evaluare ejercer las acciones legales pertinentes.
