The temperature in the gym was too hot. They should keep windows covered during the day, as the gym is on the rooftop with glass doors.
Elevators all broken all the time.

We stayed one night at the Regency Park Hotel in Rio de Janeiro and had a lovely experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and well kept, which made it easy to relax after a long day of travel. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a great variety of options, definitely a highlight of our stay. What truly stood out most, though, was the staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and extremely helpful. Their hospitality made us feel genuinely cared for and added a personal touch to our visit. We would happily stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rio and who wants to be in city.

The room I booked was supposed to be a triple superior, this room we got is only with a king bed for 3 people not triple beds. The room is no way a superior room. Luckily we only needed it for a few hours until we head to the airport. Otherwise I’d ask for a different room.

It is a good business hotel, although since my last visit, a few amenities have been removed, such as the sitting area - no more sofa or armchair to sit and relax. Just a bed and a mall chair.
Also, no coffeemaker in the room.

The hotel may not be in the best part of Rio but it is a very nice hotel.
Our twin bed room was very clean, comfortable and spacious with a lovely bathroom with powerful shower.
Breakfast was very good with a choice of hot or cold food. We had dinner a couple of evenings and the food was excellent and service from the waiting staff was excellent.
We would definitely stay here again and the prices were very reasonable.

It was an ok property. The hotel charged us for mini bar drinks that we didn’t consume. We were late and communicating was challenging so we just paid the bill anyway, but it was frustrating. Staff was not friendly or particularly helpful. Pet much did the bare minimum.

The location is not good. There are homeless people everywhere to the extent they will follow you into the local cafes/shops asking for food. I traveled with my daughter and I did not feel safe in thebarea at all. There is trash everywhere. If you are traveling for vacation I recommend staying in Copacabana.

The food at the hotel is medicore and is $25 USD per meal. You do better going to a nice restaurant elsewhere.

I am unclear how this place has a 4* rating it is a low 3 at best.

I have traveled the world. I have seen the rudest receptionists I have ever seen in my life in this hotel. I will never pass by it again. The reception managers were also very rude. I recommend you to think twice before choosing this hotel.

Hotel is just okay, we needed a place closer to the airport for one night and so this place worked for that. Price was reasonable and rooms are spartan, but you get what you pay for, nothing to complain about.

I would not stay here more than one night as there is nothing to do in Centro and you would be constantly going back and forth to other parts of the city.

Good for business travel

The Guanabara is a very good hotel in Rio. It is in the Center and the business district. Clean and nice facilities.
The only negative is it is a long way from the tourist district, if you are interested in taking advantage of any of the tour companies or famous beaches.

Hotel was clean but very dated. It was like stepping back to the 80s. Although there is a tram stop nearby, the area is not very safe at night time. Reception staff weren't very welcoming. Not sure what makes this a 4* hotel.

I chose this hotel because of it's location to the cruise port. This was a mistake. When the hotel warns you to stay in the lobby until your taxi/uber arrives tells you about the area. Should have stayed in Copacabana.

While i had a noisy fan in my room, i did enjoy my stay. Someone complained about the lack of english. While They should have their information manuals translated into English as it is the international travel language. (Just go to Tokyo to see the signs are in English). It is costing them revenue as i would have made some additional purchases if i knew some of the prices.
As far as breakfast buffets go, it's okay. I hate when hot dogs are called sausages. While I loved the array of fresh fruit, I hated the ham and cheese sandwiches.
i ordered soup for dinner and it was great. They serve it with a basket of garlic bread. I think that the practise of the waiters sharing the tip with the kitchen staff should be adopted every where. i doubled the service charge or tip because if the soup. I wish i could have tried the dinner biffet.
The pool on the roof is very impressive and i enjoyed being up there.

Rooms are clean and the hotel is located near the sambadrome, which is convenient. Also breakfast is also very good and offers a lot of options. However, the neighborhood is really bad. A few patrons that we met during our trip got mugged twice right outside the hotel. We did the other Windsor in Copacabana for the most part and then this one and I can say that copacabana is a far better neighborhood to stay at. Taxis and Ubers are cheap here too. Will be avoiding Centro in the future unless to go to sambadrome.

The hotel was wonderful! It is in a neighborhood that is not safe for tourists. So I would recommend staying at this property if you are a confident traveler that speaks Portuguese. The staff was kind and did the best they could to communicate with us! Which, I am so appreciative of!

Unfortunately the area around is not that safe but good means of transportation to other areas in Rio

We arrived early and the staff was very nice in allowing us to check in early. Services were generally good during our stay except the taxi service. When we asked the staff to book a taxi for us, we expected the hotel to call for us some reliable driver that they worked with but he just stepped outside and stopped a random taxi from the street. The car was not in good condition and the driver not only took a detour, illegally changed the meter to peak hours but also dropped us off at the wrong hotel! We ended up paying almost double and experiencing fear during the ride.

Although we felt safe inside the hotel, remember the property is located in the Centro area, where homeless people sleep on the streets and there is quite some trash around. However, it is centrally located and a lot of attractions are within walking distance. Right before we checked out, we were informed by the staff that weekend is the most dangerous time around Centro because local people do not come in to work and robbers get away far more easily than during workdays. So, pros and cons; just be informed and stay alert all the time.

Fiquei 2 sias pedindo sabão líquido. Reclamei 3 vezes até que fossem repor. No quarto haviam 2 telefones. Nenhum funcionava. Eu usava o telefone do banheiro para me comunicar, mas por causa do eco era bem difícil que me entendessem do outro lado. A camareira me disse que não aguentava mais trabalhar no hotel, pois estavam em duas funcionárias apenas trabalhando no domingo. O que salvou foi o restaurante, cuja comida é excelente. A área também não é das melhores. Não indico.

Hotel staff was good at check in. Everything is nice. Hotel is a little dated. Only problem I had is I had a business meeting and they would not let the people I had for the meeting with into the hotel. I guess a Brazilian thing. So can’t stay here again because of this issue.

Location was great for what I needed. Near Metro & SDU Airport. The room was a little sparse but clean & comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful. Staff was friendly & helpful. The only problem I had was that it is a large hotel and even with 3 elevators it sometimes took a long time to travel between floors.

Good hotel, just not good on the weekend

I liked this hotel a lot. It was one of four difference ones that I stayed at during my recent trips. However, scheduling got messed up and I ended up at this place beginning on a Saturday for what was supposed to be four nights. I knew centro shut down on the weekends, especially Sundays, but I didn't realize how bad it would be. Nothing was open that Sunday except one lonely Mcdonalds near the hotel. Regarding the hotel, the room was large and nice. Comfortable bed and good shower. All of the elevators worked very well. The weather was bad so I didn't get to go to the pool area. The morning breakfast was above average I would say. In the end though, the isolation in centro of that first weekend got to me, so I booked another hotel in Copacabana beginning what was suppose to be my 3rd day at this hotel. Yes, I ate the last two days I had already paid for with this hotel. I just wanted out of the area.

Would I stay here again? Yes, but only for a couple of days and only during the week.

Great, early check in (weekend though in a business district hotel).
Staff is friendly and service oriented. Rather older style looking, but well maintained facilities. Rooftop pool get sunshine only in the morning. :(

Breakfast is regular Brazilian style. OK.
Area is busy on weekdays during business hours. After dark and weekends, it turns completely deserted, sketchy, dodgy with homeless. Watch out!

Serves the purpose.

Efficient front desk, but Rio Centro best avoided

Windsor Hotel had a perfect city centre location - however after we arrived we realised that Rio Centro is under near-lockdown on holidays and weekends due to the unsafe conditions and crime. But the hotel had adequate precautions to keep us safe once inside. We must also mention the total lack of English everywhere. One front desk officer (His name started with a V) was most helpful - offered us an early checkin after a 12 hour flight (most useful!) And also was patient enough to call the airline and wait over 45 minutes (after speaking to 3 call centre reps) to get our meal requests updated by AZUL airlines - which had no English website or English call centre persons we could connect with. he truly went beyond his call of duty and ensured our flight out had vegetarian food for us! There was no way we could have done this ourselves. Room is nice and large, but ac is very cold and doesn't adjust well based on the temp settings. Pool on the roof is also just a small water body and of hardly any use.

It's a decent option in the center. Although there isn't that much right near the hotel. It's reasonably close to both the Santos Dumont Airport and Novo Rio Bus Station, which made it ideal for me to fly in, then head by bus to Angra dos Reis in the morning.

For dinner the restaurant isn't that exciting, but it gets the job done. Breakfast is varied and of pretty good quality. Huge spread. Good option for a short stay, but if you want to explore Rio for a few days, I'd look elsewhere.

Nice hotel in the city center of Rio, only few steps from major business office centers. Staff is always willing to assist with any needs you may have. Breakfast is generous as usual with lots of variety and fresh made food. This is really one of the best things in my opinion. Also, the restaurant staff is cordial and attentive to guests. The Windsor Guanabara hotel has been, for years, my first joyce when staying in Rio during business travels. Finally, the “Feijoada” buffet served all Fridays is a must do when staying there.
