Stayed there for 1 night, felt like 3 star hotel.
Wifi extremely slow in the room, terrible sound proofing. I can hear people talking coughing next door.

Lovely hotel / aparthotel situated in downtown Rio easily assessable from the VLT system ( tram) that links the area to central & various tourist sites
Decent sized modern rooms , good wifi. Good buffet breakfast . Great staff throughout the establishment but a special mention must go out to Clieton on reception who resolved an issue very professionally that occured in the breakfast area
Would highly recommend this hotel even if the surrounding area looks a bit sketchy. If you dont want to walk locally use uber wjicb is extremely cheap in brasil

If you are prepared to stay away from all the touristy areas this hotel is ideal as its reasonably priced, nice size clean modern rooms. Good wifi service
Very good helpful staff especially the excellent Cleiton on reception who resolved an issue i had in the breakfast area
The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the Nearest VLT station( tram) that has good links to tge Rio Metro ( subway) & various tourist attractions

I hated that I only booked one night in Rio and this hotel. The ambience was perfect, the view, everything and the staff amazing. It was great the receptionists spoke English as well. Will definitely rebook as it's easily accessible to the Novo Rio Terminal. Didn't wanna leave the hotel... Superb Breakfast

This hotel should only be for layovers. Then only good thing about the hotel is that it’s not too far from GIG airport and it close to public transportation, if that’s ur preferred option to get around Rio. The restaurant is sub-par , the only good are the sandwiches. And don’t even get me started on the AC. It barely works, it’s was so hot at nights that we could barely sleep, as the air barely blows and it wasn’t blowing any cold air . We advise that front desk, and they move us to a different room, but it was the same thing. There were ants in the bathroom. I was over this hotel, I checked out a day early and head back home. A 4 day trip turn into a 3day trip. The towels were torn and raggedy. The mini bar was ok. The breakfast was also sub-par , it was the same thing every morning, after the second morning, I stop going. I would give the hotel a 2 star rating, And I would definitely Not recommend for long stays.

I don't usually leave bad reviews, but this hotel has been the worse. The images look spectacular, but ut's not even close. The room was dirty, full of insects, the soap was never refilled, and the hotel overall had some weird policies: they will never call for a taxi, they won\"t allow you to take even a banana from the breakfast buffett upstairs, plus the breakfast is very limited. The swimming pool looks unfinished and the area around is very dodgy and noisy.

The property itself is fairly new nice and clean but only valley parking available and and no street parking whatsoever. the reception is on the fourth floor makes it very inconvenient. The neighborhood is a low end with an upcoming developments, therefore, a lot of construction.

I stayed here to celebrate my parents’ honeymoon and our last two nights in Brazil together. I’d arranged a special treat in their room, confirmed multiple times, yet it wasn’t delivered as promised. When I asked the concierge, they mentioned it should’ve been arranged directly on Intercity’s site due to full capacity. Since I enjoy using Expedia, I didn’t see the need to book through the hotel’s site. The treat did eventually arrive, but only well into our stay, which felt disappointing.

Additionally, my room’s air conditioning didn’t work on the first night and was only fixed just before check-out. I later learned the previous guest had the same issue, so it was already known to the staff.

On the positive side, breakfast was great, the common areas were lovely, and the night crew – concierge, maintenance, and valet – were attentive and professional.

The receptionist at first lied to me saying she was going to provide a room with a view, as long as I waited longer for check in. However after she failed to do that, and I talked to the manager, he gave me the room with a view. This hotel also did not allow me to bring guests in my room unless I paid extra fees and waited in the lobby for a long time. Other than that food and price is reasonable

Room booked for 3 ppl had two towels and two pillows, no soaps in bathroom, wifi is there, just is, bcus it works like dial internet from 90s, phone to contact front desk worked as well as wifi, so each time we had to make a trip downstairs, check-in & one more stuff member from parking acted like we are a huge inconvenience & are bothering them just by being there.
place went downhill, not recommended

very very close to the bus station. If you plan to take the bus the next day, it can be a great option for you. No restaurtants close to that place, so the best option is to use the hotel's cafe for dinner (buffet), which is not that bad. I was very surprised to see how many customers eating dinner at a hotel cafe! Due to the short distance to the bus station, it is not a very safe place with some traffic jams all the time. Overall, if your goal is to take a bus, it is a good choice.

I expected the area to be developing and at least have nearby restaurants, but there was nothing it was a ghost town. The actual hotel is nice, but has electrical issues. I had to get a new key to open the door and could barely charge my phone. I had to run in adding a friend to my room and they charged him erroneously and I couldn’t get them to reimburse him and charge me which I thought was tacky. so yeah, I find some Brazilian process is tacky and this hotel had some quirks.

Always stayed here from 2018-19-20 for 6-10 weeks at a time for work. Since then, the three years that have passed , it is jaded . Lifts are not reliable , no WiFi on the roof by the pool, which always used to work, and WiFi only works in some of the rooms and mostly only if you sit close to the door . Room key becomes blocked if it touches phone or other cards , had to return to reception 20 times in 3 weeks due to the same issue . Needs updating as 2018-20 it was great

lovely aparthotel a bit off the beaten track from all the touristy places but easy to get about the area if you are comfortable using the tram o/ metro systems
if not uber is cheap in Rio

wonderful hotel slightly out of the way in a fairly run down looking area that is actually very safe & close to the VLT ( tram) system that serves part of Rio

pros - lovely good sized modern room with great shower / toilet facilities separate , very clean & modern, friendly helpful staff
decent breakfast buffet with plenty of choice
hotel afforded me early checkin & late checkout which helped immensely

cons - if you are not prepared to use the Tram or Metro systyems the hotel is a little bit isolated from all the tourist attractions therefore youll spend more on taxis or uber gettting around
cable tv very few english language channels
overpriced around the new year period but thats Rio in general

will return again on next visit to Rio

The hotel staff and accommodations were great. The room was clean and just as the pictures showed. The problem was that starting at about 10 pm there was a bar a few blocks away that started blasting music so loud that it sounded like it was in the room next door. We had to leave to catch a bus the following morning at 4:30 am and it was still going. Needless to say, great hotel but if we can’t sleep, it’s kind of pointless.

My honest opinion about Hotel Intercity. First, the Front desk staff, room service and cleaning staff were excellent and very helpful. The hotel is very nice, modern and the room was very spacious- larger than it appeared in the photos. Rooftop lounge and pool are excellent with a great 360 degree view. Fitness center has everything you need. Overall I was pleased with these aspects of the hotel. Now for the negatives. The hotel is located in a distressed area of the city with abandoned buildings surrounding it. They probably built the hotel here thinking that the redevelopment that was happening about a mile away near the Port would make its way to the hotel, but with the financial crisis in Brazil, development has stopped. In short, it’s an oasis in the middle of an undeveloped part of town. There is absolutely nothing to do or see in th area, not even a store or pharmacy. I was here during Carnaval, and with the VLT train virtually shut down, it was very difficult to get a Taxi or rideshare car to and from the area. The electricity is 220 volts only and somewhat unreliable. I had problems charging some of my gear. Would I stay here again, probably not, but that has more to with the location and access than the hotel itself. Oh, I can’t leave out about the food. - mostly inedible, overcooked and chewy. I did not enjoy the room service menu at all - but if you need an inexpensive place to stay that is modern and well staffed this may work for you

Dei 5 estrelas pq o custo-beneficio foi muito bom. O quarto é espaçoso, o ar condicionado funcionava bem, e a cama é confortável com lençol bem legal. A vista foi boa também. O café da manhã gostei bastante.

O que pode melhorar foi a limpeza do quarto (tinha toalhas e pia suja quando entrei no quarto), o cofre não funcionava, o Wifi muito lento, e a área do hotel não muito atraente. Mas o quarto foi tão legal considerando o preço pago, que dei 5 estrelas mesmo.

A nice new hotel

This is a great hotel to stay at, it’s nice and new, with great facilities. An amazing top floor pool with an amazing view, and actually a good size gym. A gym that can be called a gym. The area isn’t the best, as it’s kinda away from things, no local stores but taxis & Uber’s are cheap so you can get around Rio. I booked this hotel as it wanted to be close to the airport As it was my last night in Rio. All in all, I would def recommend this hotel if you want to be close to the airport or be away from all the hustle and noise.

We had a pleasant and restful one-night stay at this hotel that offers a rooftop swimming pool with a 360-degree view of the city and is only steps from the bus station and in close proximity to the Museum of Tomorrow, Cinelandia and the domestic, Santos Dumont airport. We especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the morning. Good value for your money. Ask for (blue) pool towels at the time of check-in!!

Honestly. Hotel is absolutely beautiful. Rooftop pool is amazing. The location is very good. Food is amazing. But it's currently 2:30AM. I need to wake up at 7am, to leave for the airport for a 2 day travel home. And the air conditioning has not been working properly since checking in. Extremely irritating considering how hot Rio is right now. Incrediblely uncomfortable to sleep in. Not to mention, the power has been going on and off for two days. There's no mention of the club nearest to the hotel. Music hasn't stopped. So much for sleeping tonight! Thank you!

Excelente! Hotel novo na região portuária, não muito distante dos aeroportos e principais pontos do Rio (menos as praias). Possui instalações novas, confortáveis e terraço com vista espetacular e piscina. Café da manhã bom, porém a noite o restaurante opera apenas como buffet-livre sem muitas opções e o valor é alto. O hotel em si apresenta ótimo custo-benefício.

Although the hotel is not located close to the beaches, it is close to both major Rio airports and to Centro. The hotel staff is top notch, very friendly and helpful. Fast check in and check out process. Food at the restaurant is good. Rooms very clean, quiet, and comfortable. If I were to travel to Rio for business, I would stay at this hotel.

I'm checking in Allan helped us and allowed us to check in quickly to avoid missing our tour. Thiago and Diana helped us with how to get to Copacabana on NYE safely and for cheap while Gabbie and Daniel helped with our room service issues! The staff really goes out of their way to make you feel at home I loved them all. They always had at least one person on staff who spoke English
The 24hr market convenient the pool beautiful they should put a bar there.
The only con is the bathroom is really small the area is going through gentrification so there isn't much around which puts the kitchen into overdrive! Over an hour for room service but like I said the staff handles it well
The tram is very close very safe and takes you where you need to go Uber very cheap to get to the beaches
If I come back to Rio it stay here!
I'll also recommend it to friends

So let me start by saying this hotel has a spectacular rooftop view. You get the view of guanabara bay along with Downtown Rio and sugarloaf mountain. Ok so I stood here for a week prior to taking off to another hotel only because I wanted to stay in two different parts of Rio De Jáneiro. So I think the breakfast is good for its price. The staff always took care of me. Everyday I asked them where should I go or what I should do and they always gave me good recommendations . So this is close proximity to the zoo, aquarium, and downtown and also party towns like Lapa. If you want to be near those places then this hotel is for you. Also, they arranged for me to go to a soccer game. It was the semi-final (Vasco vs Flamengo) . I never expected to attend a soccer game while here in Brazil but a staff member at the bar recommended the idea to me and he passed on the information to the staff, next thing I know someone is picking me up with tickets and providing me tTransportation to and from the hotel. Excuse my long post but I am still here in Brazil for one more week and I had to really show my appreciation for staying here and you better believe I will be back.

Great Hotel - New, All Amenities, Perfect location

This hotel is new, clean, has all amenities needed and a great staff.
Its only downfall is its location, unless you are taking a cruise, a bus or flying out of Rio, then it is the perfect location.
If you wish to be near the great beaches like Ipanema or Copacabana it is too far away. It is also in a older, rougher area of town where some people may not feel safe wandering the streets, especially at night.

good for business travel

The hotel is beautiful and the front desk staff are super friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and comfortable. The roof top pool is incredible! The only two negatives are the parking and the restaurant. The parking is very small and tight and the security guy who lets you in and out is never there so you have to chase him down. Had a bad experience with a waiter named Carlos at the restaurant and the food is over priced. Definitely eat breakfast elsewhere. The steak is absolutely amazing and the best thing on the dinner menu. Overall a very good place to stay and would recommend it to other business travelers

O Hotel eh muito bom, o quarto tambem! o Restaurante nao tem muita variedade no buffet, porem tem alacarte. Nao tem nada muito proximo e o hotel eh um pouco isolado, porem para quem esta a trabalho eh uma boa opcao.
