Window in our room wouldn't close, reception sent maintenance up promptly but it wasn't fixable. Also the tap in the shower had been spun out from the wall so wouldn't work, but we screwed back on ourselves once we figured it out. Mattress needed replacing or cleaning. Good location next to the selaron steps, markets and Lapa for food and bars. Breakfast had a nice selection. Rooftop bar was an added bonus. Quiet inside the hotel.

They have a bar on the rooftop with DJ, magnificent view of Lapa in the night, sometimes they close the bar at 10:30pm, you have a welcome drink from 5:00pm to 5:30pm so don't be late.

I like the room. It was thoughtfully decorated and very clean. I didn’t find the staff very helpful or pleasant. It was like I was bothering them whenever I’d ask for information. It was the other guests who helped me when needed. The kitchen only had 2 spoons, no bowls, and 2 cups. I think it’s important to let people know that the Lapa area, at least near the hotel, has a lot of homelessness and people addicted to substances. I think having a Welcome Session to inform guests about the property, location, and public transportation options would be very helpful.

This hostel is a disgrace! I chose it specifically for its coworking space, but my experience has been a nightmare. The first night, I couldn't sleep due to loud toilet pipes at 3 AM. The second night, a man repeatedly tried to enter my room from 9 PM to 3 AM, leaving me terrified. Despite the supposed 24/7 reception, they were unresponsive. Now, Selina is refusing to refund me for the remaining stay, despite Expedia advising me to leave early. Avoid Selina at all costs.

The hotel is located in the tourist area of Lapa in a good way.
Is best to get ESIMS before you get there so you can enjoy your touring with UBER because they are always around the hotel and saves you lots of of heartache due to language barrier.
The Rooftop bar is also convienently on top of the hotel.

Good location for Centro. Check-in stuff great. Rooms are fine. It’s really a young persons hotel. Very loud until 10pm, DJs etc. Breakfast chaotic and not great, which is an exceptional for Brazil. That said, good value for money.

I stayed here in Nov-20 and then again for new year. The first time me review wasn’t particularly good because I felt the room could be cleaner and the then new manager promised that the issues would be addressed. On my second visit I must admit they had really addressed the issues. The room was spotless, the sheets and towels were regularly changed and it felt like fresh! Highly recommend this place is you want to stay near the historic centre, Santa Teresa, Lapa, Glória etc.

Great stay. I would recommend. The staff was really nice and helpful. The new guy (can't remember his name but he recently came back from working in the U.S.) was really helpful and had excellent customer service. The area was convenient. The hotel was clean and well kept.
The only cons were
- No iron
- No first-aid kit
- The common kitchen area wasn't clean. Even though it is up to guests to use they should have standard cleaning since everyone's individual cleaning style is not thorough.
Also, a tip is to keep the key card in the slot to use the air conditioning and taking it out will cause it to go out.

The hotel was nice but could do with a bit of cleaning, I had a mild rash from sleeping in the bed. The location is right in the centre of the night district (Lapa) and very close to the historic centre and the famous stairs but far from the beach.

Gorgeous old building in the middle of Lapa, tastefully renovated and with a very chic decor. lots of social activities going on in and outside the hostel. Everything was perfect except our room was very noisy as it's a busy area and there's barely insulation from the outside noises. I loved it nevertheless.

Selina Hotel is in a great location! Rooms are updated and look chic and new. The bed was comfortable, wifi fast, air con strong. The room was big enough, it was reasonably quiet for a good night sleep (and the black out curtains were awesome). The hotel has a nice kitchen area downstairs and a ton of space to get work done. There is also a restaurant/bar downstairs. The highlight (other than location and comfort) was that there is a super fun rooftop bar with parties going on you get free access to when staying at the hotel. Would recommend!

Então , fui à recepção pedir um adaptador pois as tomadas do 413 estão ultrapassadas e não são compatíveis com todos os modelos eletrônicos e não tinha né , água quente bem demorada de esquentar , se fosse um banho de emergência me atrasaria , ganhei dois drinks grátis o garçom decidiu por si próprio ontem à noite (sábado) a fazer os dois em um (nunca vi isso na vida) , fora isso café bom dentro da média camareiras simpáticas , seguranças simpáticos !

Não tinha a escrivaninha com a cadeira, sem telefone, atendimento apenas com whatsapp, que nem respondem direito, ar condicionado não funcionava bem, secador não funcionava e não tinham outro, mentiram que os secadores do hotel estavam com defeito. Sendo que um hospede estrangeiro disse que o dele estava normal. Wifi simplesmente inexistente. Pessimo!

Além disso, o rooftop torna a experiência/estadia ainda mais agradável (recomendo ir ao final de tarde). O quarto e o banheiro são amplos, diariamente limpos, ótima acústica, ar-condicionado em perfeito funcionamento. A única ressalta refere-se ao sinal de WiFi, que oscilava bastante. A hospedagem foi muito abaixo do esperado. Logo na chegada, o quarto apresentava odor forte de urina e falta de higiene. O banheiro estava sujo, com cortina mofada e chuveiro sem aquecimento e com baixa vazão. Os lençóis estavam sujos e havia luminárias quebradas. Apesar da reserva ser para quatro pessoas, havia apenas três toalhas — duas com o mesmo cheiro de urina.
O quarto adaptado para PCD não foi solicitado e comprometeu o conforto. Sou hóspede recorrente e percebi uma queda significativa na qualidade da limpeza e manutenção. Diante das condições, precisei encerrar a estadia após a primeira noite e buscar outro local. A equipe da recepção reconheceu o problema e informou que o caso seria encaminhado à supervisão e que eu teria resposta até segunda-feira, 10/11, mas ainda estou no aguardo.

Acesso ao rooftop negado
Nada a reclamar em relação ao atendimento, pois todos foram muito solícitos, do check-in ao check-out. O problema que tive foi em relação à cobrança do valor de 180 reais para acesso ao rooftop. A informação não estava disponível na página da hotéis.com e, para minha surpresa, a taxa era inegociável e para a gente acessar teria que pagar 360 reais, pois estávamos em 2 pessoas. As medidas cabíveis já estão sendo tomadas, pois tenho print de rodas as páginas do hotéis.com na qual não há nenhuma informação de que o local poderia ser cobrado à parte.

Fiquei no quarto compartilhado, quase foi ótimo! O atendimento foi excelente do pessoal da limpeza aos recepcionistas! Minha única ressalva foi a higienização do banheiro que não era ideal e o fato do chão do quarto estar extremamente danificado por um vazamento do ar que claramente não foi consertado há tempos, no entanto os lençóis e toalhas eram ótimos e as camas tb!
