The property is clean and beautiful however it is very modern. Does not feel like you are in Mexico… Could be a beautiful resort anywhere in the world. Not a palm tree in sight! If you’re looking for a true Mexican experience, this is not your hotel. Also, there is no swimming on the beach… The surf is too strong. The only hotel that has a swimming beach in all of Cabo is the Hilton.

This was our first trip back to the Viceroy after it was purchased and rebranded.

A couple standouts: the architectural vibe and customer service remained top notch. All of the staff are friendly, approachable and over the top helpful. The live DJ and art exhibits on the water create a unique experience for any stay. The personal concierge is also a huge added bonus.

A few things that have diminished since our first visit:

food quality and cost on site - the downtown area has much better food and beverages for more reasonable prices and unforgettable experiences.

The overall maintenance of the property is good but there are definitely components that are showing wear 10 years since the hotel opened.

Overall it was amazing to return to the hotel and we look forward to another visit sooner rather than later.

Our stay at the Viceroy Los Cabos was nothing short of spectacular. The architecture is a visual marvel—the minimalist white buildings contrasted against the massive, reflective mirror pools create a serene, cinematic atmosphere the moment you walk in. Walking along the paths feels like floating on water.

Beyond the stunning design, the service was impeccable. Every staff member went above and beyond to anticipate our needs without ever being intrusive. The culinary experiences were outstanding, the property was immaculately clean, and the tranquil atmosphere made for a perfect luxury escape. Highly recommend and will absolutely be returning.

The staff was terrific! There could have been a little more music by the pool areas as it was very quiet most of the time. Perhaps though that is the vibe of the property. The restaurants were just ok. Breakfast was pretty standard but the other places were just average. Unfortunately due to events, we were not able to enjoy the rooftop restaurant. However, I will say that our room came with a butler and he was terrific! He helped us with off site reservations and his recommendations were terrific. Love the area though as you can get to restaurants and shopping very easy! The property is definitely very nice! One thing to be aware of, they do host a lot of corporate and wedding events. This is important to know because it affects availability in restaurants, pool areas, and can have fairly loud music until 10-10:30p. If you are ok with that then not an issue - just something to be aware of.

I hate to leave bad reviews but I’ve given the hotel multiple chances to make right. Our stay started our great but ended in a near death experience. Our tower caught fire and no alarms went off, thank god for my husbands quick thinking and calmness we evacuated after a super bad electrical fire.sadly the hotel had zero safety precautions in place and if it wasn’t for our own quick thinking we could have died. The hotel offered to comp a couple room charges and send us a couple free nights. Yet management Never followed through or replied to my emails. Never got a free nights or even contacted to see if we were ok afternoon the smoke inhalation.Over all a very scary disappointing experience from a higher end hotel.

I was so looking forward to the food. Don’t get me wrong the resort is aesthetic and you’ll get the vibe you see in the pictures and the staff is really nice but the amenities are scarce, pools are small and food is TERRIBLE at all the restaurants. I would 100% not come back or recommend the resort especially for the price like I would other places I’ve stayed at in Cabo.

We had an exceptional experience at the Viceroy Hotel while celebrating my fiancée’s birthday. The property itself is stunning with beautifully designed, modern, and effortlessly luxurious. We stayed in one of the penthouses.

A special thank you to our host, Victoria, who truly made our stay unforgettable. She was attentive, responsive, and consistently went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect. She is definitely an asset to the resort. I’d recommend her if you’d like a host that takes pride and servicing her clients. Her level of care did not go unnoticed.

I would also like to recognize “Hope” at the front desk for her professionalism and warm hospitality during check-in. She made the arrival experience seamless and welcoming.

Overall, every staff member we encountered contributed to a high level of serve that exceeded expectations. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this resort to anyone seeking a refined and memorable stay.

We’ve made it our unofficial hobby to “research” most of the major Cabo resorts, One&Only Palmilla, Four Seasons Costa Palmas, Nobu… tough life, we know.

So when we arrived here, we’ll admit, first impressions had us a little unsure. The hotel sits right off the main road (not exactly the dramatic, guarded-gates entrance we had imagined), and the lobby felt… let’s say “cozy.” For a brief moment, we wondered if we’d made a mistake.

And then we saw the view.

Instant mood reversal.

The property opens up beautifully, with buildings cascading toward the ocean and villas stretching toward the beach. We initially upgraded to a three-bedroom villa… and then, in a completely rational and not-at-all indulgent decision, upgraded ourselves again to a 4/5-bedroom villa “for privacy.” No regrets. Thanks to a large part to Mr. Torres.

The views? Unreal.
The service? Even better.

Our butlers, Jacob and Victor, absolutely nailed that perfect balance of attentiveness without ever feeling intrusive, something even some of the top-tier resorts don’t always get right. Every single staff member we interacted with was warm, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. Special shoutout to the beach staff, who were consistently fantastic.

Safe to say, we’re already planning a return, and maybe even plotting a more permanent arrangement (villa ownership is suddenly sounding like a very reasonable idea).

Nothing but great things to say about the Viceroy.

Bad: I thought I might like the architecture, but ultimately was just a little too strange. Also, the main dinner/bar area was rented out for an event, so that wasn’t great since we had planned to go there. Our particular unit was in a corner and one of the only units with a pretty bad angle to the water. They were not willing to move us unless we wanted to pay an additional 250/night, which wasn’t cool since they had space available. But the biggest annoyance is how difficult and bizarre it is to get down to the gym and beach. Probably takes 10min? just to get down to the beach. Considering this is a beachfront property, that concept just doesn’t make any sense

The design of this hotel was absolutely unique to other luxury hotels we’ve stayed in. Using water features instead of landscaping made the whole stay feel more unique, and the first floor suite was gorgeous. All the employees were friendly and super attentive and helpful, and the personal concierge service was excellent and quickly responsive. Only small suggestion would be to have more pool chairs available, but it’s really a gorgeous property and a great stay.

The staff is very friendly and makes a genuine effort to provide good service. However, for a hotel that markets itself as high-end, there is room for improvement. Certain details made our stay unnecessarily stressful, especially when traveling with a small child.

I would not recommend this hotel for families with babies or toddlers. We wanted to visit the Gallery District with our two-year-old daughter, which is only a five-minute drive from the hotel. Since taxis and Ubers usually do not provide car seats, we asked our butler for help with transportation. We were told the only option was to hire the hotel’s service for $300, which felt unreasonable for such a short trip. Given the hotel’s emphasis on comfort and a stress-free experience, we expected more flexibility or a fairer solution.

For the price we paid (around $2,000 for three non–all-inclusive nights), attention to detail was lacking. We also experienced repeated internet issues and eventually had to change rooms because the Chromecast was not working.

Overall, the hotel is attractive and the staff is well-intentioned, but for the price, it fell short of delivering the stress-free experience we expected.

Very unaccommodating considering we both got terribly ill with the flu right before arrival, not to mention highly contagious—we opted to leave the resort out of concern for everyone else's safety, and the resort would not lift a finger to help us with the circumstances. They repeatedly denied my request for a voucher (not even a refund!) to stay at the resort in a couple months, which I was willing to book on the spot. I have just booked my next Cabo vacation at the Waldorf, happily spending more money for the peace of mind that they will treat us like humans (not revenue items like Viceroy).

The elevators were not working properly, waiting 10 to 15 minutes at our floor then walk down 5 flights of stairs.
There is a difference between paying for an expensive item and feeling like you have been ripped off. We felt for the cost of food and drink was a rip off. $25. US dollars for 4 oz glass of Mexican wine, and $14. US for a bottle of water we felt was unreasonable. It was an experience however we will not be back.

We recently stayed at the Viceroy Los Cabos and found the property to be absolutely beautiful. The architecture and design are stunning, and the views are truly breathtaking—definitely one of the highlights of our stay.
That said, there were a few areas that could be improved. Unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations, especially given the level and price point of the resort. Additionally, while the main room was comfortable, the pull-out bed/couch provided for our son was very uncomfortable—you could clearly feel the springs, which made it difficult for him to get a good night’s sleep.
We also found that activities on the property were quite limited. There was little to do during the day, particularly for families traveling with children. Because of this, the resort may be better suited as an adults-only property, as there is not much offered to keep kids engaged.
Overall, the Viceroy Los Cabos is visually stunning and peaceful, but guests traveling with children or those looking for more activities and stronger dining options may want to consider these factors when booking.

The Viceroy hotel which is now owned by Hyatt, has somewhat changed lowered its standards but kept the same or even higher price tag! I frequent this hotel in Beverly Hills, so I’m a custom to the price tag and services it offers.
This trip I took all my girls, lol, wife daughter mother -in law God mother and they had a wonderful time.

The staff at the entrance those guys are amazing the car pick up drop off and valet service is awesome, the hotel check is wasn’t bad, the part I had a prblm with is that people tend to judge a book by its cover, or should I say a hint of prejudice going on with the staff or perhaps it’s the way things go I’m not sure. I went to buy a drink and the waiter explained to me tht hey this drink is very expensive even wanted to show me how much it cost per drink, lol, okay we’re on vacation we’ve prepared for everything, I noticed he didn’t others hmmm then later on at the dinner restaurant on the rooftop the reservation was mad by our private butler and they wouldn’t give us preferred seating, even after the reservation was made for preferred seating, but the dinner food was amazing the steak and the beef was tender and succulent awesome job chef!!!!! The pool was clean everyday the breakfast was delicious the overall staff was very courteous! A few bad apples can ruin it tho.

The location is good construction goin on around it, I had a chance to play golf at Puerto Golf Club give it shot if you enjoy golf! It’s worth the price tag!

This was a splurge vacation for us, and it was one we’ll never forget! We opted to do the all-inclusive as we brought our 8 and 11 year olds and it was beyond worthwhile. Every last detail is considered, the food is incredible, the facilities are beautiful, and the staff are exceptional. Manuel and Estefanía from Host Services were so attentive and readily available for anything we needed, restaurant and poolside staff were incredibly friendly and provided a true experience. There are too many to name, but Jesus, Juan, Oscar, and the hilarious duo Abraham and Carlos at Nido all created a magical week! It is tranquil, calming and gorgeous. We dream of going back!!

Amazing hotel, exceptional service. Rooms are immaculate, grounds are also stunning. Service, especially poolside, is great.

Great location close to downtown and a short drive to surfing and swimming beaches. Highly recommend.
